Yes there is and it can be done without perks. The notion that the only option is to abandon them is what makes camping appear so easy.
Camping is a tactic that appears strong against the uninformed, but can have many drawbacks against the more experienced players.
First of all, there is no true way to prevent killers from camping. Killers control the flow of the game and how the survivors play which is why they’re called the power role. Anyways, even if camping could be done with perks, there is only 2 survivor perks that can in someway make camping slightly less efficient and yet they only prolong the hook timer.
And if you somehow do manage to unhook a survivor against a camping killer, you, assuming your the unhooker, needs to pray that you’ll make it somewhere safe since 22 out of the 29 playable killers have some sort of mobility, movement speed penalty, ranged attack, or instadowns in their base kit and are more than likely gonna be in the majority of your matches.
Oh and not to mention trying to effectively “counter” camping as a solo queue player. Don’t even get me started on killers tunneling right after unhooks too.

Killers can camp hooks, survivor can camp generators and palettes. So what is your problem? Play the game. This season I played 33 matches as survivor and met 1 (in words one) killer that camped. Last season I played 131 matches as survivor and met 5 (five) camping killers. You are making a fuss about something that is rare in the range of 3-4% of all my matches.
Survivors camping pallets is no where near efficient compared to killers camping hooks and you know that. Camping generators also make no sense. I’m assuming your just saying “‘X’ can camp random in game object so ‘X’ can do it too.” to make up for your lack of an actual argument.
Also, you and I both know you didn’t play 131 matches and only came across 5 camping killers. Camping and tunneling has had a massive spike since the DH changes and the chance of you not coming across a killer that wasn’t camping in anything less than 20 of those 131 games is nearing 0. Be real.

"Boring" describes the survivors responses more than the killer's actions. Learn to counterplay or abandon teammates and move on.
There’s no counter play to camping. On top of that, players who are playing on a team based side shouldn’t have to abandon teammates because the opponent is benefiting off of cheap unskillful tactics. Horrible advice.
-
Saying anything is skillful in this game is a red flag.

watch closely at what I’m talking about
Thats not map design that’s rng. The game does that whenever there’s a lack of pallets that spawn in the map.

I'm curious if people will take issue with this change. I remember a thread some months ago where a large portion of people seemed to have the opinion no changes should be made and photosensitive people just shouldn't play.
I remember arguing with a guy that’d rather preserve the games “aspects” for themself rather than sacrifice it to make it more accessible for photosensitive people. It’s baffling.
The aspects in question were low quality PNGs that’d flash/cover your screen whenever certain killers used their ability on you.

Yea people sleep on no mither. But you have to be VERY sneaky lol
People sleep on it because its objectively not a good perk. Very valid reason.
-
I don’t.
Whenever I play killers the majority of the community finds fun survivors never want to get chased and sit on gens. So I return the favor by slugging and tunneling.

Once the mori update goes live you'll be able to kill the last player - assuming the game doesn't give them an extra second or two to crawl out the gate.

I'd say killing them is a pretty good reason.
Kill them before they get to the exit gates then.

Yeah the Killers pickup action should take priority over all other players actions, I don't know how that isn't the case already.
Who ever requested the action first takes priority. No reason why the killer should be able to pick up a survivor while that survivor is being interacted with by another player.

And how many times do these changes actually result in you getting down or an additional kill? Or a gen being stopped? These changes feel good, but in reality, they do almost nothing. This was a BHVR saying "look, we care about you too killers!" after which they just started releasing survivor patches one after another.
Also, for the first time, I am seeing someone use Infectious Fright as gen defence argument. I think you meant slugging... in which case, it will be much harder to do next patch ;)
IMO, they should've added old corrupt as base kit, and then nerfed top killers. Corrupt Intervention was the healthiest killer park in the game to exist which unfortunately got nerfed hard...
A lot of times.
While the mini built in pop and built in brutal didn’t have too much of an affect in most of my games, the 10% faster recovery from attacks and current STBFL on top of that has allowed the killer to win many camping situations simply because their recovery is ridiculously fast. Not to mention survivors getting a reduced speed boost and reduced speed boost duration after getting hit.

No...

Yup. Deadlock, no way out, noed are probably some of the strongest. Versus the plethora of perks that are nearly as strong and also boosted by the fact that you can stack them up to 4 times
So 4 survivors running BT means that the unhooked survivor gains 40 seconds of endurance?
-
This is nice on paper, but there's people who would use this just because someone did something they didn't like.

Ah yes, this speed boost straight off the hook definitely grants you the ability to choose where you go down.
Never mind the fact that recovery time was shortened and god forbid if the person has STBFL.
Yep, you're definitely going places -- ie the closest available tile.
But according to you, players should choose a better place to go down.
Smart.
Pro Tip: There's no such thing as a rational argument with that guy. Their killer bias blinds them to a ridiculous extent.

No, we both have a user history that is starkly different.
Yours plays out like you live in a fantasy world. Surprisingly, that fantasy world clearly isn't DBD either.
What are you talking abt. 💀

Blight's fun if your not playing against wannabe comp kids. Idk abt nurse though.

Mmm no. Claudette's rework was an exception. Her default headpieces were most definitely an upgrade too.

Why show me this? I know 3 gen strat. Part of that 3 Gen Strat is to down all of you slug you and then let you bleed out. That is the strat. It's not the killer's fault that it took an hour. And if the killer is slugging you maybe it's because they suspect you have DS or deliverance or slippery meat. All I'm hearing is that you're mad that the killer is using a strategy that counters your strategy and winning.
All I've stated is that under certain circumstances, doing a 3 gen is bannable. Not my fault you and everyone responding to my initial comment lacks comprehension skills.

Maybe their playing a challenge they made up themselves. Like when survivors challenge themselves to see how many head ons they can make happen, or how many times they put the killer in the hole. Or how many times they can make the killer eat a flash bang.. those survivors are hindering the natural progression of the game, too. Is that reportable?
Gonna leave this here. I must've stricken a nerve.

Yeah I'm afraid all this video shows is you having a pretty good chase where you misread a mind game at the vault and then got greedy at a pallet you should have dropped, leading to a down.
The Bubba then smacks you on hook which is probably uncalled for but not the end of the world.
Someone else was on hook and not being camped during the vid so the killer either committed to chasing you away from the hook or left the hook which also doesn't really fit the narrative.
Personally I would have vaulted back through the main building window while the killer didn't have line of sight, you probably would have lost them completely then.
2 hooks at 3 gens they could switch it up to a defensive game at that point if they chose to.
I'd say it has nothing to do with how you played. People always say I didn't do anything toxic why did they camp?? but defending a hook is sometimes just a good play. It doesn't mean your opponent is mad at you or out to ruin your fun, stop projecting onto your opponent.
That was a pretty good chase, if you are finding even the base elements of DBD unfun then my suggestion is take a break from it.
Even if they camped and tunneled me to death at the end of that I'd finish out the game with a GG and move on. Well done Bubba you caught and killed me just like the entity is telling you to do.
A 30 second chase with is generally not good enough against most killers. Especially when Pulsar's teammates clearly suck.

Whatever you say. I was just reporting back to you. What was said. What YOU personally said. You should probably grow up a little.

It's always after really mediocre chases that killers do this too. Like there's no way killers are that upset that a console feng looped them for 20 seconds.

You did though. OP said "they were downing people, but making no effort to hook them" You replied with "making no effort to kill anyone is bannable" Downing a survivor is effort to kill someone. You'll bleed out in 4 mins
Now your putting words in my mouth. Me saying "If the killer isn't making an effort to kill survivors then it's bannable." is me clearing up the OP's confusion on whats bannable or not during a 3 gen game.
On top of that top of that, you twisted what I said to fit your narrative. You are so sad.

This situation is rather a gray area. You could say defending a 3 gen can be an effort, a boring one at that but and effort to kill survivors. They're waiting for the opportunity to capitalize on someone getting too close while injured. I like to see it as old hatch stand offs where you could sit there for half an hour before eventually someone gets bored and lets the other persons survive/escape. In that situation they are technically both trying to further their objectives but how that scenario plays out can usually end up in stalemates until one side gives up. This 3 gen scenario is not much different to that other than its with more people. Either way 3 gens are still beatable.
You can call it whatever you want, but devs have stated that if the killer isn't making an effort to kill survivors for an extended period of time, that the "3-gen" is now a hostage situation.
-
@OpalescentHare said:
I keep getting in matches where the killer aims for a 3-gen... And that's it. They will hit people off gens, but will not commit to chases. They will down survivors, but not hook them. They just protect their 3-gen for over an hour. At that point people either actively refuse to be picked up so that they can bleed out and leave, DC, or meme around with each other. Because there is no way to progress the match due to how the killer is refusing to do anything that allows progress for either side.
This is becoming a semi-regular occurrence. Having it every rare now and again is frustrating, but not at all ruining the game as a whole for me. But the past couple of weeks it has happened on the daily. No one should have to DC to get out of a match that the killer refuses to hook or chase survivors in, or hold down the running button to avoid recovery just to get out of a match. At that point, protecting a gen should be holding the game hostage since they are pressuring gens to no end beyond bleeding out survivors for 4 minutes each at best.
If the killer isn't making an effort to kill survivors then it's bannable.

It's silly. A horror game where the survivor is literally chasing the killer to get deep wounds. Mending should take 20+ seconds so you can't "buy time"
Mending should not take 20+ seconds. Are you crazy? 💀

But they're not paying for it...? They're paying for Prime, and this is one of the myriad of things that are supposed to entice people to shell out for it.
None of the gaming rewards are individually meant to be worth the price of a Prime subscription, that's not really the point of the whole setup. A lot of them are in-game currency like this, even.
You have to pay for prime to get the reward right?

They could've at least made it 2 Mil BP. No ones paying for ingame currency that's FREE to get.

Short ques mean a lot of people are playing the game. Long ques imply people leaving.
If there's a lot of people wanting to play killer but not a lot of people wanting to play survivor, what does that tell you about the queues?
