People like to complain that they don't face people at their rank. But generally you do. You just lost whatever match you had.

It's hard to believe people who say that most games they were camped, tunneled, or slugged.
For new players 100% yes. Even as a new killer I camped and tunnel. Not slugged cause I didnt understand that concept

I like it give it a cool down timer. Maybe like once every 60 seconds
-
Sorry my dude, but real solution is to do gens and rank up. When you reach rank 16. Everyone that camps magically disappears.

I feel if thats your build the issue you have with wraith is probably really similar to me but im not sure
mys only issue is when you create a snowball deadzone, slug and keep suvs injured then pressure them to come to the deadzone as ruin is regressing the gen if they leave you just hit and run another area and rinse and repeat but the issue is not wraiths buffs in and of themselves its just that 4 meta perks allow him to slow the game to a halt and play an oppresive style, theres a very similar issue with some of legions old addons and some really niche perks that people overlook because the killer is weak but he can be one of the most oppresive killers in the game. i dont think the killers are so much broken as without the build they fine imo.
He's not broken, but you can't counter wraith at the same time.
And that's why I don't think he's in a healthy spot. There's no back and forth interaction between survivor and wraith.
But also I'm about to hit rank 1 for the first time so please don't change him.

Yea but you need to create a dead zone honestly if survivors are allowing you to create a dead zone around a gen and not playing economically with pallets its kinda comeing i only have 2 things i dislike about wraith but i think they are overblown
1-when a weaker survivor burns all the pallets others get punished
2-Sloppy, surge, ruin, BBQ sluggers thats the only time i dislike wraith a LOT
But the thing about 1 is it applies to bubba, Oni and well a lot of the killers its kinda like when a oni zooms back to where you are but with wraith you get more time to react to it so i dont think its that bad tbh
The thing about burning pallets. Is that you only need to burn about 6 of them which are the 1-2 closest pallets to each of the generators. If they don't burn the pallet they get hit. If they do burn the pallet. There won't be a close enough pallet next time.
I have no need to care about any extended chases.
Lol replace surge with nurses calling and you got my build.
Though I guess I can't say if one build is oppressive. Then that must mean wraith is fully oppressive.
But I still feel hit and run wraith, the only way to play wraith optimally, is a play style with zero counter play.
I remember the first time I faced hit and run wraith, I was thinking. Oh I can't do anything, I don't know when he'll will come and there are no pallets I can run to, to save me.
Also I learned how to actually play hit and run wraith that game xD.

His powers more than a free first hit it can do a lot more.
Also I understand the concept of a stealth killer and it just so happens one side has a 3rd person camera with a wide FOV meaning at most places that dont have high walls its likely you can easier see him coming + you have some indication of where that will be from perks or where other survivors have been hooked but thats not the point.
The counterplay to it is really just paying attention and inferring what is likely to happen and in your head planning your route the problem is and i dont mean this as a insult to survivors i play a lot of the role most players once there on a gen don't forward think we are all guilty of turning off and just hitting skill checks But stealth killers punish that and tbh i don't see the issue with that to be honest if someone takes a hit for not paying attention or being in a deadzone then thats fine.
I feel I've been on the band wagon and been a big proponent of this recent complaint about wraith. Though I mostly main him as a killer.
Cause once I create a dead zone generators I take the free hit and just leave. To different gen. After that when I come back to the orginal generator. I get another free hit and now you're down.
You didn't loop me, you didn't get actually use any of your chasing skills. You're down without really getting a chance to fight back.
I feel the games or only won and lost by my decisions alone. Nothing you do as a survivor matters. Granted I won't be saying the same thing if the perk sloppy and nurses weren't in the mix.
-
Just make it an add on and I'd be down

then franklin's countdown ought to stop when there's camping.
At its core Franklin's isn't going to make or break a victory. And if a killer is camping an item he's obviously going to lose. If you're trying to get that one med kit just give it up. You're not gonna lose if you didn't grab your med kit.
-
That is already happening if you play at the higher ranks. You can't even stay at hook or else you'll get gen rushed and lose.
I think you just play with bad killers. Just rank up by doing gens. And you wont face the campers soon.
Also you haven't considered what if there are teammates nearby the hook and the killer is chasing them. That means the killer is punished for having survivors hover the hook.
I believe they already tried to implement this in the base game. And what came out was toxic survivor play.
-

But you don't need to actually kick a gen, it's automatic.
Surge has saved me many times in the late game. Where I pressure a couple survivors off a gen that's nearly done, and managed to down one of them, setting that gen back 8%, and without surge would certainly have been completed. With that gen not completed, I can go back to it after downing/hooking that first survivor and pressure the other one off it.
I agree its has saved my ass a couple of times. But compared to pop the results feel lack luster.
Maybe if they added the cooldown refreshes on every hook. I wouldn't mind.
Oh yeah surge also automatically procs even if there isn't a near by generator...

Can I suggest changing the ability with self-unhooks to something else and keeping the struggle phase ability as you have described it? Maybe a speed boost when you get off the hook or something?
I like the speed boost idea. Like everytime you hit a great skill check you get 1 second of speed boost. And maybe every good skill check a .25 of a second
-
Imo surge is pretty useless mid to late game. It's only regresses a generator by 6.4 seconds. Which is about the same as kicking a generator and waiting 12 seconds.
Near end game I definitely feel as a killer I'm getting hooks and downs much more faster than the 40 cool down they give me with surge.
Like even if I get a slow down with surge I feel if I try to get a hook. I just turn around and that gen just got completed behind me.

This is my honest, objective experience with The Wraith, so I hope to answer the question as best as I can:
I've been playing the game for only two months. In that first month I found the Wraith really solid. Fun to play as, as well as against. His powers were impressive, but there felt like enough balance to keep him in check. Yes, he's invisible and yes, he's super fast, but that bell - which I thought was a really cool bit of character flavor as well as an ingenious bit of balance - made it so that if you heard it, you still had a chance to get away.
I don't know what happened but I now despise the Wraith. I absolutely cannot stand him. He seems just plain ridiculously OP to me. There are two reasons for this: He seems to have lost the cooldown between when he hits his bell to uncloak and can begin moving again, OR the slowldown that he previously experienced when coming out of cloaking was greatly reduced. Additionally, I've played two matches against him where there was no bell. I thought that this was a glitch, but was told that no, he can now play in such a way that he can uncloak silently.
IF both of these things are true, then we had a killer who could be invisible and incredibly fast BUT had to dramatically slow down and loudly announce his presence when he was preparing to strike, to a killer who can be invisible and incredibly fast AND does not considerably slow down nor need to announce his presence when he uncloaks. In the past I felt that I had at least a fifty/fifty chance of getting away from him when I spotted his blur coming or heard his bell. Now, it has gotten to the point that even if I see his blur rushing in and take off out of the room before he's even begun uncloaking, I still get smacked almost immediately. Then there are the times when I didn't hear a bell and just didn't happen to be looking in his direction when he came flying toward me, so I went from moving around and / or trying to get something done to BOOM, now I'm being attacked out of nowhere. There's no counter to that. People say "oh, just make sure you're always against a wall or window. Well, I can't really make the game service me in that way.
Long story short, I thought that Wraith was solid middle to upper tier. Easy to use, but quite possible to still counter or evade. Now, in my experience, he cannot be properly countered or evaded. I hate him. People want to disconnect when they see The Spirit, I want to disconnect when I see the Wraith. I'd honestly rather face the Spirit to be honest. At least in her case there are various tells. I feel like I have a chance. In the Wraith's case it feels like a literal example of - and I have been avoiding this word as long as possible - legitimate imbalance. They tipped things just enough in his favor to make fighting him way too unpredictable, at best, or way too unfair, at worst.
This is my opinions also but as a wraith main. Like holy crap I feel survivors have zero counter play to me. Sure good survivors will gen rush me still, but that's not a counter.
Even if you escape to pallet. The first time. I just leave and come back and next time you won't have a pallet.
-
It's not about his chase potential. It's the fact that I don't even need to learn how to loop as wraith. I just have to decloak and try to get a hit. And if they reached a pallet before I hit them.
Next time I come back to the generator. There won't be a near by pallet for them to throw down. So I get a free hit.

You probably play against rank5+ survivors man, its just different at red ranks
Hiding behind walls does nothing because your sound gives away exactly where you are directionally
Nah I definitely faced alot of red ranks this week. I have to say whenever facing a full red rank team. The match felt fairly balanced, I left with no rank up or rank down.
It doesn't matter if they hear you the first time. Cause the second time you come around. The pallet they dropped last time is broken. so you get a free hit.
You say there's a window near by? Go to window side and decloak there.

Once survivors know the killer is wraith they just look for his EXTREMELY obvious shimmer from 20 feet away and his stupid ass breathing
It's really not hard to tell he's coming to you 10 seconds before he is
Just hide behind the wall. And if you find a generator in progress with no survivor. That mean they have spine chill. So they already saw you walking to the gen 32 meters away. All you have to do is walk sideways and the not look at the gen when going towards it.
I literally made a post two days ago asking how do people counter wraith cause I felt there is zero counter play. You can't even loop wraith, he can just leave for another person every time you throw down a pallet. At the end of the mtach the entire map is filled with inescapable dead zones.
As wraith you control the entire pace of the match. They can't see you coming or hide in time. Every match is dependent on your decision making skills.
-
Bte if you stand still as wraith you go completely invisible. Its a pretty cracked ability, I got so many free downs after camping basement
-
Dude I was sitting at rank 14 with legion until I played wraith. Now just this week I went from 17 to 5 with no struggle. Pretty sure I can get rank 1 with how the matches are going.
You gotta hide behind a corner before you uncloak, hide at the pallet side so they can't run to the pallet when they hear you. You don't start making noise until 1.5 seconds into de cloaking. Then you have 1.5 seconds plus the speed boost to make your move. Either get a hit on the survivor or keep chasing them until they drop pallet, Break the pallet. Right after that you leave to find another generator, and repeat.
Make sure you have nurses calling and sloppy butcher. With sloppy butcher that 4 seconds of extra healing time is so important with nurses calling. The times I tried to go without sloppy, I always got to survivors just as they finished healing.
If the chase goes to 20 seconds leave. Eventually most of the survivors will be injured, and next time you see them you get an easy down.
-
@Yords said:
Throwing pallets and staying near windows can cripple Wraith actually.
I mean personally I don't care cause the moment they throw down one pallet I break the pallet leave and come back later for round 2. And they can't use the window side if I come in from window side. I always make sure every chase I get atleast one hit or one pallet break. And by end game there are no more pallets for them to use. And then forget mind gaming jungle gyms, if you can't see my red stain for 6 seconds.
-
@Reinami said:
Having good situational awareness. Wraith is loud as hell with his snarling noises. Always be near a window or pallet. If a gen is out in the open, make sure you have more than 1 survivor repairing it, but generally avoid those unless you know the wraith is somewhere else.
What distance can survivors hear it from?

But like even with spine chill. I just start walking side ways to the area. And forget out positioning. I get to pick the best position to come in from. Especially add-on with the zero terror radius + zero red stain for 6 seconds after I uncloak.

Well I’d probably just dump dragons grip for thanta then. Or honestly NOED since it’s stronger than either really, even if it’s cheap.
I personally can’t stand playing wraith without chase perks and it’s very hard to do an effective hit and run playstyle without any information perks.
My favorite hit and run perk is probably discordance since once it lights up you can instantly drop chase and find 2 other people immediately. Otherwise you run the chance not finding anyone fast enough for hit and run to really work, especially if medkits are involved. Doubly so if the users have healing builds to go with those medkits. In those situations you either down people or they heal up in 6-7 seconds and without chase perks getting them down could be extremely difficult.
Tbh dragon's grip really helps with snowballing. all I have to do is kick almost 75%+ gen or get a jump on a team of two. and I'm guaranteed a guy is going to come back to proc the dragon's grip. And I stand still so no one see my shimmer and I get a free down. It's very fun.
Plus I get intel when I leave so I know if the gen is getting worked on. Plus if no one procs the dragon's grip I get 15+ seconds of free regression.
######### Instead of sloppy butcher, I think I might try discordance then. I will say with will an arrogant guarantee. If you can chase off two people off gens with wraith, the full health guy will always come back.

I would 100% go with sloppy unless you have the addon that applies mangled. Nobody is going to stay injured for long without sloppy. And if you are doing hit and run you might consider Franklins as well since a couple medkits will completely shut down that playstyle.
Surge is inferior to pop goes the weasel in most situations; especially on wraith who can quickly make up the lost distance from kicking a gen. It would also go better with dragons grip, though dragons grip is garbage so I’d replace that with basically anything.
At least change it with make your choice so you are consistently exposing people instead of hoping they touch a gen and still suffering a massive cooldown if they don’t.
Lol I totally would for make your choice if I had the perk. You are right, I definitely find my self hitting the Second guy in instead of tunneling in case of DS. I also totally would get the pop if I had the killer QQ

I second that. I love running bone clapper and blind warrior for the mostly free sloppy butcher. OP, you can essentially run both perks by running that add-on plus thana. The only downsides are that you have to do an out of cloak hit to apply the mangled status with the add-on, and (I think?) you don't get the more frequent blood pools, but that's not the main point of sloppy butcher anyways
But yeah, if only one option is available for whatever reason, sloppy is better
love that build also, but this is a more general build. Where I can slap what ever add-on I want to fit my mood
-
@Exerath1992 said:
Sloppy is better when using nurses, but I would actually drop surge for thana, especially since you'll be kicking gens for dragons grip.
previously I would agree but recently from my experience, I still end up kicking gens even with surge. Cause I'm not always downing someone after I get a hit and sometimes I only chase long enough to break a pallet. Also surge is still needed for the regression, plus slugging follow up.
-
I genuinely pyramid head's ability to swap between ability and m1 so fast.
-
I gotta say from my personal experience slugging 4 man at 5 gens, means the team is just bad.
If you slug at a 3 gen scenario all 4 survivors will have zero chance to complete gens. If they aren't smart enough to leave the area and heal up fully, and dive constantly for teammates.
Every other time smart slugging is majorly dependent on if you see a near by injured survivor after you down someone.
4 man slugging is actually really hard to pull off. If the survivors are decent at looping.

I just thought about this. Isn’t this just a better version of victor.
Since one, your power can’t be stolen for 30-45 seconds. Two, it grants tracking in unless the survivor does not want to progress the game and be vulnerable in chase (basically incapacitated), and three; it can affect multiple survivors at once.
I mean the only them tying their play styles together is the ability to see heart beat. Though I'd say they play differently. Like with micheal and scream. or like hill billy and cannibal
-
@Yords said:
So would the legion lose their knives when stabbing someone? I am confused. Will they be in deep wound while having a knife in their back but they have to take out the knife first?
Otherwise though, it looks like a cool change.
There will not be deep wounds. It will be it's own thing like "snap out of it". So the difference is there will be no timer for the survivor to "pull the knife out". I don't think you should be forced to reveal your self if you don't want to.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/245501/genius-legion-rework
Everything BUT the last 2 IMO. Legion already gets tracking in frenzy to stab you. I don't feel like you should get MORE tracking once they recover. That means you have to take the 12 seconds to pull the knife out. On top of having to move from that location to heal(or not) or hope the killer doesn't come .
Functionally legion's tracking does not help in getting downs. It doesn't matter, how many people you injure if you can only get one hook. that's why his ability is so weak, he was ranked 2nd to last before trickster rework. If I were to leave only the top 2 changes above he'd be no different than before. It would be the same ability, make the survivors waste 12 seconds for each person you hit.
This change isn't for making his power more broken. It's to bring up the obvious down sides of using legion's ability. Cause if you make one wrong decision macro decision while in feral frenzy. You'll have zero generator pressure on the field. If you could always chain 2-3 people while chasing the last survivor you just hit this ability might be decent. And This buff will do nothing. But since that is not always the case and you will make the wrong decision, This buff should smooth out the flow.
Normally, If you only hit one survivor and hear no nearby heart beats in feral frenzy. and that guy loops you to hell and back, great you lost a lot of time.
If you're chasing the heart beat of a smart survivor cause they know to run the other way when they see the deep wounds. Heart beat also doesn't tell you how far away the other survivor is. you could be chasing a heart beat that's too far away and now your ability is on a 20 second cool down. and now you can't find the survivor. If he knows to stop running and hide after he heard your cool down scream.
Plus even as legion you could also spend 5 seconds to look for other heart beats see none and run back to the previous survivor but you can't find him cause as legion in feral frenzy you can't track scratch marks or see the heart beats of people you previously hit. Great you have achieved no pressure again as a legion.
You miss one swing as legion your ability is on a 20 seconds cool down + 4 second stun. You get hit with a pallet 20 second cool down with 4 second stun.
If you make one mistake using legion's power you'll be forced into a state with zero pressure on the field. At least with this change you get some information to smooth out the process if you mess up.
-
What you shouldn't do as a pc player is you can make a auto clicker and be a afk killer...

@CaptainKipup said:
I bit late to the party. I bought legion a while ago and have been enjoying him. I just chased a survivor around the map who had the Deep Wound status thinking that he will bleed out soon. Because it's called a -deep- wound. If you run while you're bleeding, you bleed out. So he lasted forever and I finally went and read that the bleed out timer PAUSES while a survivor is running. Thematically, that's so dumb.
Apparently it USED to work as a bleed out effect, but that was too strong. Okay... what if it created some of the other effects of bleeding out then? Your ears start to ring, you start to get tunnel vision. You start to slow down. Is there a way that you can simulate feelings of shock in the game? I just feel at the moment when I run up as Legion and stab what is meant to be a cruel fly by arterial stab where you leave them bleeding to death (as is the killer's theme, right?) it's sort of more like running up and putting an annoying sticker on their back and they have to pick it off.
I think what still makes a killer fun is the thematic immersion. When I play the plague I feel like I'm this disgusting, infectious virus. Good ol trapper still feels like a murderous mastermind tricking people into dashing through a bear trap. It's living that creepy horror movie theme that makes it fun. Legion is meant to be feel like a messed up delinquent that would jump out of an alley, cut you deep and then let you run in terror while you bleed out. Chasing a survivor who apparently has a clotting agent Wolverine would be jealous of makes me feel lame and it makes sense that you don't see the killer very often...
Ohhh how about this idea. How about if legion sticks a knife in your back. As long as the knife in your back you are broken. If you try to pull it out on your own you scream revealing your position. But if you find a teammate they can remove it for you quietly.
-
It's really not that broken imo. It's fun to use but not broken. All you have to do as killer is wait out DH after you know they have DH. Just stick on on their ass and do a light hit.
And even when you miss the hit, if there isn't a window or a loop near by, congrats cause in about 5 secs you get the down.
Literally just waiting a few seconds is all you need.
-
Im on the nah side. I've experienced this before on other competitive games and it just really limits the map pool in an uninteresting way.
DBD is it's most successful as a non-competitive/competitive game. The asymmetry, the keys, random hatch spawn, random everything is what makes this game fun. Like a board game. We got simple mechanics that everyone can easily understand. Do gens, loop, and escape.
Even the ranking system is casual. Just do enough for your team and you can rank up.

Unless I missed something is there anything that can only be bought with shards?
They signed a contract wit people to let them use these movie characters, and they in turn want hard cash for allowing DBD to use these characters. And the only way they getting hard cash is with the cells.
If you can pay for these characters with shards that turn into cells. That's not real money.

IMO it is decent on some Killers. I run it on Doctor, Clown and Huntress. Doctor and Clown, because Survivors tend to drop Pallets early against those Killers. And on Huntress, because I dont have any better Perk to run (Whispers, Corrupt Intervention, BBQ, 4th Perk is either Brutal Strength or Nurses, I cannot decide really).
But in my opinion, it is good on Clown and Doctor.
So they pre drop the pallet and you can get your extra hits in. But you still only save .433 seconds how many extra hits do you think you get per game. because of the pre dropped pallets? I understand in terms of running to the next windows that's alot of time saved
-
So now that I'm thinking more about it I can see how you can use brutal strength effectively on a mid-sized loop where a survivor will attempt to loop you, but you can catch them off guard and get a quick swing. You could also get 1-2 extra hits you wouldn't normally get with this perk
--------------------------------------------------------------
While I agree this perk would work amazingly on clown by making looping near impossible. His power already does it well enough, and his map pressure is close to zero. I'd say you should take other perks like ruin and surge to slow the game down instead. I'd still say you should not take Brutal Strength still

I don’t think Brutal Strength is made for time saving, it’s more for zoning. It’s much better in certain killers than others as I think killers that have their counter play as pre dropping pallets would fit well with Brutal Strength. Clown is a perfect example of that and I think Oni could get some benefit from it as well because survivors tend to play safe against Oni in the early game.
With that being said, there are certain killers that benefit from Enduring more and some that benefit from Brutal Strength more as I think both are solid perks.
how would it work on oni?

Those were my same thoughts. But I couldn't think of a situation where you got that extra zoning benefit. You don't save any time if they can reach another pallet connected window or pallet before then.
Though now I'm thinking about how you can use it mid loop. And the survivor is in a bad position. This perk seems more useful on unsafe loops
