This is why I never play events. They're never worth it.

People always prefers win, no matter what. No matter which role. Maybe there is some exceptions but this is true for most of community.
What about you? Would you still play survivor if those changes happen?
I asked sometime back if survivor players cared about escaping or having a fun back and forth game. Almost unanimously escaping didn't matter to them. Most people playing DbD, at least survivors care about fun not winning.

If people don't try to rescue and only do gens yes.

They will complain about the next exhaustion perk 🙊
Probably.

I can't wait for DH to be nerfed. Killers will finally stop bitching about it then.
-
At this point I can't wait for them to nuke DH so killers will stop whining about it.

There's alot of little nice stuff but nothing really exciting for me.

I'm confused
How does it possibly not reduce your grind?
As I said it will be helpful for those who want to max everything. The less stuff you want maxed out the further the returns diminish. Given how long we've all waited I was hoping for better.
-
BT is hardly unfair. The only issue with BT is body blocking. Change Endurance status effect to be no collision instead and it's perfect.

I hope you are the only one who thinks the grind reduction somehow made the grind worse.
It only helps people trying to max everything. If you aren't then it doesn't do much.

I'm stress because i never prestige my killer or survivor, just ghost face and Sadako, and now I'm really really scare, i have the game on my PS4 until 2017/2018, I play every days, i love this game (before MMR but I still like it) it's the only game I play, and now with the new prestige I scare to lose everything, i put a lot of time in the game i don't P3 killer survivor because I did not see the need to do it, so please can you do something for the people like me? Please please
You won't lose anything from prestige once they implement the change. You'll keep your perks and addons and such.

Exactly what I said. "Boohoo it doesn't benefit me, therefore others shouldn't have it"
There's plenty of changes made constantly to the game that I don't give a rat's ass about, but you don't see me complaining about it. Not everything has to be about you and your petty needs.
Jesus, do you have a reading comprehension issue? I never said others shouldn't have it. I already said I was glad for those it helps.
As for you second point I don't complain about changes that I don't care about. I'm complaining because I've waited years for a grind reduction only to get something that doesn't reduce my grind. So excuse me for being unhappy about that.

Ah yes, the "I don't want it, therefore the others shall not have it" defense. Let's regress, people, no need to move forward, if it doesn't benefit me!
That isn't what I said. My issue is it only helps some players. Which to me is a bad system. I'm glad it helps others grinds. As it does nothing for me or the others who have no need to prestige characters they don't play I'd think you could understand my frustration.

Seriously. They make a change that benefits most people, and this guy doesn't like it because he doesn't care about maxing out everyone.
That's a legit complaint. This system only benefits you if you want to max everything. If not it does ######### all for you.

It does even take long to get 1 character to p1
To each their own. This just feels lazy considering how long it took them.
-
Because then I need to prestige in order for it to save any grind. If this is only a piece of a larger plan then it's an okay start. If this was it for their big fix it's garbage.
-
@Peanits said:
As you've mentioned, you could just as easily not down them if you want to let them escape. If you insist on 'establishing dominance', getting close enough to down them and choosing not to still sends the same message.
Wouldn't a better solution be to not automatically trigger the mori?

@Brokenbones said:
Here you go, this is from the official news post:
This new system is tied to a character’s progression and will reduce the grind significantly. Moving forward, the first three prestige levels will earn the corresponding tier of that chosen character’s perks across every other Killer or Survivor. It’s also worth noting that you will no longer lose any perks, items, and add-ons when levelling up a character’s prestige level.
For Example: If you raise The Trapper to prestige Level 1, all your Killers will receive the first tier of Unnerving Presence, Agitation, and Brutal Strength – they will also gain the ability to find tier 2 of those perks. in the Bloodweb, and subsequently tier 3. That process continues until you reach prestige level 3, when all The Trapper’s perk tiers will be maxed out for every Killer.
If that's their big grind fix it's absolute trash.
-
New killer right?
-
Lots of nice QoL stuff, but the killer/survivor are garbage.
-
Let's say 1.5 million to reach level 50. Now times four to reach P3. So 6 million to reach P3 50. Now you'll spend an additional 6.6 million to get all perks tier 3. So 12.6 million for a single makes killer. So 12.6 million times 27 killers equals is 340,200,000.
If you wanted to to max survivors as well you'd need an additional 13.56 million for a single survivor. Which is 406.8 million.
In total P3 all perks every character would take 747 million bp.
This was arrived at assuming an average of 60,000 bp per blood web after reaching P3 50. This is also assuming you get the maximum perks you can each blood web
-
Because ultimately it is one. You always had the players who play selfishly. It got worse when they decided escaping/kills were the only metrics for winning.
-
If true they need to leave my boy alone.
-
My understanding is she's by far the most popular of them. So yeah, why wouldn't she be getting the most cosmetics.

If console would be the highest player base, then they would shift their priorities on improving performance and QoL on a controller.
The fact that playing as blight requires you to change sensitivity to 100% so you can even flick (not to mention, that spinning survivor can EASILY dodge controller blight flick due to acceleration speed of movement, so as console blight you do not react but anticipate in 90% cases.
To play any other m2 you have to reduce ur sensitivity that you can even aim without trying to flick for an inch and result in 90 degree turn.
The fact that the brightness is so horrible on darker maps, that you can even see the silhouette of dark clothing, especially claudette is a ninja
And then older generation on 30fps, blight bumps freezes the whole game, but the price tag on console is equal to the PCs.
The problem with your theory is it hinges on them being competent enough to fix these this. This is the same company that promised console optimization what 3 years ago? I very much doubt they can make it happen with their spaghetti code. All of this being fairly unsurprising when you remember this was a PC game ported to console. I'm sure they never expected it to last more than a year or two. Certainly not six.
-
I haven't gotten to try it yet but Floods of Rage, MyC, Corrupt, and Jolt.
-
PH and Spirit are fine. Billy needs another addon pass and overheat gone. Slinger needs an addon pass and his ads to be a bit less restricted. Freddy needs an addon pass. Wraith I'd like to see his lunge nerf reverted, but I'm also very bias.

Together, i do not doubt they outnumber Steam.
Individually though, I do not believe they can.
From what I can find PC players makeup about 35% of total gamers. This being for gaming in general. So the combined player base dwarfs PC. Add to this I've noticed PC players are much quicker to dismiss games than console player (granted that is anecdotal). A perfect example of this would have been F13. The PC community basically dropped it within a month. Consoles had a strong player base for years.

You're the one making illogical assumptions based off of no evidence.
The only evidence we have says that the game is not doing well on the largest, most accessible and most well-optimized platform. Why would you EVER assume that DBD is doing better on more restricted, less optimized and smaller platforms?
DBD Forums stop pushing an illogical narrative without evidence (impossible)
What has lead you to the conclusion consoles are the smaller platform?
-
As others have said, getting hit around corners is a large reason why people don't like Huntress. Add to this the games where her hatchets feel more like a mini fridge has been thrown at you and it becomes easy to understand. Also, and this could just be my experience, but it feels like they're the easiest players to get tilted. I've encountered and seen alot of angry Huntress's.
All of this said she can be fun to face. Or extremely painful. Sadly there's usually not alot of ones in the middle.

Really? I can't remember the last time a survivor released, male or female that I cared about. It could be, like me they just haven't found the survivors released interesting in sometime. Or we can just go on shaming people if you prefer.

Great results. It's actually interesting to see the so-called 'unviable' killers you put in the forefront actually have over 50% of 3-4k's (which are wins) except for poor Deathslinger lol. That is without some aggressive tunnelling or camping. Nice data and work!
Legion was also under 50%.

If you don’t run exhaustion perks anyways, this would hardly effect you. Heck, this change barely effects exhaustion perk users. It’s just about having the status effect do something to all survivors, regardless of their load out. It would be like mangled only being applied to survivors who bring a medkit or healing perk(s). Well, why am I going to bring it if it might not do anything at all? Same idea here for a killer with exhaustion-causing perks or add-ons.
This also isn’t exclusively about Dead Hard (not mentioned in my post), but exhaustion as a whole/status effect.
I know it wasn't exclusively Dead Hard, but as it's by far and away the most used exhaustion perk it is what most people would be trying to counter. As for the comparison with mangled it's flawed. Nearly ever survivor will get injured in a trial. Add to this it's always a risk that what you brought won't be useful. You bring a medkit only for you to be facing Plague for example.
-
@GoshJosh said:
Exhaustion is the only status effect in the game that is reliant on a survivor bringing an exhaustion perk for it to even effect them. If a survivor has no exhaustion perk, it literally does nothing to them. Isn’t this a design flaw?
It would be one thing if exhaustion was only self-inflicted; but as we know, there’s a set of killer perks and add-ons that apply it to survivors as well. It doesn’t have to be anything major, but exhaustion needs some effect outside of making survivors unable to use exhaustion perks.
My idea? It also gives a Stridor effect. Exhausted survivors breathe a bit louder if healthy, and groan heavier if injured. It would be applied at a level of 2% louder per every five seconds of exhaustion needed to recover (so 16% louder while exhausted for another 40 seconds, for example).
What are your thoughts?
Edit: auto-correct loves add-ons.
While I see where you're coming from I think it would be a bad idea. I almost never run exhaustion perks and would feel pretty annoyed that I now have an extra thing to mange because so many people run Dead Hard.

If what I read on the DbD wiki is her, then yes. I generally don't pay alot of attention to the lore, but a psychic Podcaster sounds incredibly lame. It'll be the second survivor in a row I don't buy.

She's from some of the tome stories. She's an Indian podcaster who, with her half-brother and dad (I think?) works to expose the Black Vale because of her ability to see through realities.
I Googled her. I regret my life choices. I really hope we don't get such a lame character.

I'm convinced they're not being honest about the matchmaking functionality/MMR range. I'm being matched with teammates who don't seem to understand how the TR functions. This is genuinely unplayable outside of a 4 man SWF anymore.
That's because they take the survivor average Mmr. If the killer is 1,700 mmr as long as the survivor average is within the acceptable range it's considered balanced.

I mean if I'm gonna have a miserable time because the survivors chose the map that is unbalanced and you can't change that fact then yes if they don't want to have fun then neither will I. Either way face camping isn't toxic but the motive might be.
Also I don't see what's so immature about not wanting to play an unbalanced map but hey I guess taking the smart approach is immature nowadays. Why try when I know for a fact that by the time the first chase ends through 10 pallets that 4 gens will be done and if I leave chase the same thing will happen. And I can't split pressure because the map has a ridiculous gen spread.
The issue isn't the way they played. Yes it's a shity way to play, but it's not against the rules so do what you want. The issue is the little toddler tantrum. They burned a map offering I don't like so I'm going to make them as miserable as possible. Them burning an offering wasn't toxic, but OP's attitude sure is.
