How is it unfair?

I can agree to this, under one condition, that they also fix plague's BP gain as well. Please
Deal.

Wasn't the last time they nerfed a killer's basekit Deathslinger? What sparked this?
I mean, I agree, though. The only even arguable exception is Nurse, the others all have perfectly adequate basekits; either balanced enough to be left alone or in need of buffs.
Glad I'm not the only one confused.

It is not additive? I don't run SC myself, so I never noticed, but does it mean CoH with BK is not 100% speed then?
It's multiplicative when you are calculating how much the increase is. For example new SC and BK. New SC is 35% so we need to calculate 50% of 35% to find the effective speed increase. 50% of 35% is 17.5%. Now add 17.5% to 35% and we get 52.5%.
CoH and BK speed increases are found separately and then added together for the total increase. We gain an increase of 50% from CoH. This is 50% of the SC speed of 50%. Meaning an effective increase of 25%. BK gives a 33% increase of 50%. Giving us 16.5%. Adding them all together CoH plus BK equals 91.5% currently.

Shame. So you have to run both together just to get old Self-Care speed.. and without any medkit bonuses.
Yeah, they destroyed those perks.

Because the option should have still been there.

I’m genuinely asking, do you know how the math works out? Because Self-Care is being nerfed 15%, but Botany is being buffed 17%. So will the combo be just a smidge faster than it currently is?
Currently SC heals at 50%. If combined with BK it heals at 66.5% as the 33% is multiplicative not additive. With new SC healing at 35% the combined speed with BK is 52.5%.

@Nathan13 said:
I like it better now, it’ll be decent with SC.
No it won't. They destroyed SC so badly even Botany can't make it decent.
As for the topic, I hate the change. It took away the utility that made Botany good.

Thank you so much for doing the math on this!
The last time I tried to argue how this won't be a reduction, I died fighting alone on that hill.
Everyone thinks I'm nuts too. I've tried to tell them the grind reduction is nowhere near the 75% claimed.
-
There are two reasons I do it. One my team is doing nothing while I dangle on a hook. Or two I've had a lot of frustrating matches and I hit my breaking point and am done for the evening.

I would not prestige. The Reward is low and you will lose all Perks, Items and Offerings if you prestige now.
If you wait, you can at least keep those. (Which might be interesting for Flans, if you have a lot of them)
The reward is non existent really. I'm glad I only ever prestiged a single character for the achievements. Had I been grinding for them when the "reward" was announced I'd have been pissed.

Dead? This is a buff imo by far. 50% heal speed with no conditions or drawbacks is amazing.
I loved it for it's versatility. So for me, it's another of my favorite perks they killed.

It doesn't matter what they do. Tunnelers are gunna tunnel. No matter what changes are made they'll pick a new excuse as to why they have to tunnel.

If you look at the pallet-to-loop ratio there are many safe vaults and the generator spread is massive.
It's not a fun map to play as a slow killer when there are safe pallets everywhere and if you mess up there are jungle gyms.
I disagree that it's too safe, but those are at least fair arguments.
-
@MilManson said:
Good, it's a crap map.
Too big and too many pallets.
Good luck playing Hag on there or Trickster, wouldn't mind if it's killswitch for ever.
Too big? Are you high? It's one of the smallest maps in the game.

Your math is wrong.
According to you.
-
The killer can defend their hex. A survivor can't defend their boon.
-
My math for everything unlocked showed a overall reduction of less than 15%. A long way from the promised 75%. Those who play limited characters really got screwed.

Ok. But you're assuming shelter woods. She can't go through objects. Can you imagine the nightmare on the new map with all the clutter.... Autohavens, macmillans with random clutter in the way. That's pretty bad imo. But hey. It's your idea. I just found it funny is all
I wasn't actually. I was assuming she then had mobility and could use the blink in chase to close the distance at a loop. She'd no longer be the S+ tier killer obviously. However I think she'd still be pretty strong.
-
@BrokenSouI said:

Gotta admit. This one gave me a good laugh. Not only is she 110. She CANT blink through objects.....? What exactly does her power do at that point other then be completely useless.
You mean other than close massive amounts of distance to land hits?
-
If I were to nerf Nurse I'd make her 110 and make it so she can't blink through objects. I'd also give her one blink.
-
Survivors have to manage their gens to avoid a three gen. Killers can manage their hooks.
-
BT body blocking shouldn't be a thing. Normal body blocking absolutely should.
-
Addon pass, absolutely. Make his ADS not as janky feeling, definitely. Completely revert the changes hell no.

That's actually a critical difference between OTR and DS: OTR -will- affect you if you're not tunnelling. You can't bodyblock safely with DS, but you -can- with OTR. But the fact that OTR works during end-game when it's only just been fixed on DS does show that the devs just completely blanked out while designing the OTR rework. It is absolutely, 100% a mistake.
I personally prefer Ohtofu's idea for it and BT where the effected survivor has no collision with the killer. Then they can't body block with it. As that would be an entirely new mechanic I'd settle for the deactivate at egc.

Please make math how much bp you need to make everyone at least p3. So you will have all perks on everyone. But for how much bp? And how long you need to play for this bp?
Under the new system 6.5 million to P3 a single character. Now repeat this with 58 characters to have all perks on all characters. That's a totally of 377,000,000. Under the current system it takes 443,750,000. A total savings of 14.8%.
I disagree removing the BP gains was a mistake. However there needed to be something to offset it.
-
@Firellius said:
There's, what, six baseline killer buffs? Out of the three slowdown perks that were nerfed, one wasn't nerfed in its slowdown. There's 5 slowdown perks that were buffed, some getting really strong buffs.
Outside of the OTR #########-up, the patch is overwhelmingly in favour of killers. Yet here we are, with more 'Do what I want or I'll camp!'. Camping didn't even get addressed, despite being the absolute biggest balancing problem.
Honestly I wouldn't call Otr a mistake. If you don't tunnel it won't effect you. The only part I think needs changed is it still being active during end game.
-
I swore they left it that way because a decent chunk of the stun was ate up by the dropping animation.
-
@Omputin said:

Hm, where did they state you can't move during DH? if that's true it'll be interesting perk.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3025024#Comment_3025024
so wait out till pallet which otherwise unreachable? hm?
You don't get the dash is what I meant.
-
Interesting question. I'm guessing it'll just be main menu. A popup after you finish a match letting you know would be a great idea though.
-
I was under the impression it wasn't that specific. That it to say the system would just throw out the incentive for whichever side needed players regardless of Mmr. Then match as best it can. At least that was my take.
-
I think it'll be a net gain, but nowhere near what is claimed. At least that's my guess.

What, you think you can't make distance within 1 seconds of free move? what kind of game are you playing?
You don't move unless you take the hit. A hit that you have to time for your perk to work. DH will take some actual skill now. When it works It'll be the definition of they out played you.
-
@foodie said:
you're not actually complaining about 1 second endurance 😂
Fr. Like really? They got rid of DH for distance and they still complain.
-
Having it deactivate during EGC sure. Why not. As soon as the last gen is powered seemed too much, but okay I guess. Having it do all that and nerf the stun? They may as well have entirely deleted it.

No, it wouldn't. You see where is killer going. You don't see how is that good?
It's not just facecampers, those don't care if you know about them or not.
My friend is using Kindred with Open-Handed and it's really strong. It's good idea to bring killer close while looping, because you just can't be mind gamed.
That was going to be my point as well. Seeing where the killer is headed is extremely useful. Kindred never leaves my build.
-
I'm talking about the issue of addons and items. Especially with killers that have only a few decent addons you'll burn through several bloodwebs at a time to get the ones you need.

I get that, but it's largely irrelevant.
- Not everyone runs those perks every game
- No-one is getting maximum value out of those perks every single game
- The grind can and will be shorter for everyone. Those who can't envision it or do the math really should stick around until the update is live so they can see for themselves
Edit: Here's another thought. THE IDEA THAT WE FELT COMPELLED TO RUN THOSE PERKS WAS ASSANINE. I'm glad their bonuses are removed, I want to feel like I have 4 perk slots.
I agree it was ridiculous we needed to run them. However they didn't address the core reason why many people ran them. These changes are good for completionists and leaves the rest of us high and dry.
-
I assume they're referring to the BBQ and Wglf nerfs. Those are going to hurt alot. Especially if you were leveling for addons and items and not perks.

No, because when you are healing within CoH, CoH gives its own healing prompt. It is not Self-Care. CoH is not being changed at all. It will still allow for the same speed self-heal.
Survivors inside the Boon Totem's range benefit from the following effects:
- 40/45/50 % bonus to all Healing speeds.
- Unlocks the Self-Care ability, allowing to self-heal without needing a Med-Kit
- .
- Reduces Personal Healing speed by -50 %.
- Benefits from the general Healing Speed bonus.
The description specifically stats it unlocks the Self Care ability. That's why I'm wondering. Of course I'm also wondering if BK had the efficiency removed like SC did. They never said as far as I'm aware.

Botany Knowledge is a buff to all healing effects, not just CoH. What’s stopping someone from using Botany Knowledge to offset the new slower speed on Self-Care for instance?
Because it's massively worse? Currently SC and BK combo gives a heal speed of 66.5% taking 24.1 seconds for a heal. New SC BK combo is 52.5% taking 30.5 seconds for a heal.
-
@GoshJosh said:
No. Self-Care is 35% speed of a standard 16-second heal. CoH gives a 50% healing boost. It ends up being slightly faster than current Self-Care. I think it’s around 21 seconds.
Yes, but the 50% boost is currently 50% of the Self Care speed. Which makes it a 75% Self Care. So my question is will it be 50% of the now 35% that Self Care will be post nerf or will it remain the 50% of 50%?
-
@Souplet said:
Off the record needs to be adressed imo, so is 15 seconds bt
We will see with 1st tests but im pretty sure good survivors will be using and abusing those
I feel like it needs to deactivate once you're healed. Regardless of how you end up healed.
-
I have one character P3. I only did it for the achievements. I can understand completely why everyone is disgusted by the "reward".
-
Are you serious? Prestige was always a waste. Now they showed the "reward" It's just an insulting waste. If I had wasted my time prestiging for a hinted at reward and it was this I'd be beyond pissed.
-
@RisingTron said:
Whenever I used Self-Care I paired it with Botany anyway.
Old Botany was 33% Self-Care was 50%
So you healed at 80% speed.
Now Self-Care is 35% and Botany is 50% so it's a 85% heal. Not great, but not worse than it was.
Honestly think they did this to push more ppl to running COH.
No, that 33% was of the 50%. Which is 16.5% for a total of 66.5%. Which means with the proposed changes it would be 50% of 35%. That comes out to 17.5%. 52.5% being the new healing speed. Meaning it'll take two perks to slightly exceed the old one.
-
@Milo said:
They just force you to run Botany+Self Care to heal at a reasonable speed.
No. The combination of the two only get you to 52.5% heal speed. You literally have to run Botany to equal current Self Care.
-
@Krazzik said:
