They are assuming a worst case scenario of pentimento(30%) being up & also thanat at full stacks(22%). Which, while true, anyone can heal to reduce the effect of thant(hey buffed BK, CoH, Desperate Measures), and a single survivor will 100% know where pentimento is if the killer uses it at the first chance they can. Go smash it while he's in chase with someone else.
BK was absolutely not a buff.

I don't care if there are other opinions on the subject. It just scares off new players and it doesn't have to be that Solo Q gets such a bad reputation just because it doesn't work for some people. Solo Q as a survivor is currently much more fun than it was before the patch.
HAVE FUN ❤️
You clearly do care since you're telling them not to express it.

It's called their opinion.

Because they want to force people to use crossplay.

I have been playing a few games with some friends and it seems pretty normal.
I'm still using iron will but I still not sure. So far it has been ok. I'm absolutely loving lightweight and fixated combo. I'm still going to be annoyed by thanataphobia with legion and plague but ultimately idk yet. I also haven't seen anyone camped or tunneled hard yet but I'm waiting.
In conclusion everything is fine so far. Is subject to change though.
Are you doing Kyf or swf? Cause we all knew swf wouldn't be effected much.
-
You realize some people don't like playing killer right? Just like some people don't enjoy survivor. Maybe just play how you want and don't rag on others for playing how they want.

Let's not forget Self-Care. Self-Care is the most perk efficient and reliable healing perk in the game, which is why solo-queue uses it. Nerfing that perk is going to drastically effect solo-queue and hardly effect SWF at all. In solo-queue, I always run Self-Care because solo-queue teammates will leave you hurt and not heal you half the time. SWF, I can run a brown med-kit and be fine because my teammates will always heal me.
Self-Care shouldn't have been nerfed because it's almost required for solo-queue.
Botany upset me more, but yeah. Self Care nerf was also a terrible choice.

Context dependent. I'll let survs go if they were screwed by their team, or played particularly well and carried. A lot of potential reasons there.
As a surv I'll occasionally give myself up, but that's rarer.
But being on the receiving end of a pity kill from a surv has a whole different feel than being spared by a killer, and I don't care for it (it feels more patronizing, since as a killer only you are responsible for your performance).
I had it happen to me the other night for the first time ever (at least that could tell). It was on Garden of Joy and I didn't play well at all, plus they were a really strong TTV SWF and I got absolutely bodied. Got zero hooks for the first time since I was a baby killer in like 2019.
One of them gave themselves up at the end, and I tried to carry him to the gate a few times, but they wouldn't go. Felt bad, man.
Garden of Joy is miserable. So honestly I might do the same as the map is outside of the killers control.

I don’t struggle against the perk as much but I get why the perk was the main reason didn’t want to play Spirit. It’s not unbeatable but it wasn’t necessarily fair a lot of the time (although the devs didn’t have to destroy the perk the way they did at all).
I really hope we see Spirit more often. I feel like I’ve gone against more Blights and Huntresses in the past month than I’ve seen Spirit in the past 6 months, and that makes me a sad boi. I need to see her more, my game experience will be complete if I do.
Also side note, I did say Spirit is the most fun killer in the title but I’m obviously saying it as a subjective term. She’s the most fun to me but I do understand why people may not find her fun, and that is ok.
I immediately knew it was you lol.

But there are aspects of survivor play where solo players aren't at a disadvantage. The biggest one is chase- while being in a SWF may give you some extra tools like coordinating bodyblocks, the basic mechanics of a chase with the killer aren't any harder if you're playing in solo queue. Anything that nerfs survivors in chase (EG, the basekit killer buffs we're getting) don't hit solos harder, because being in solo queue isn't a disadvantage for that aspect of survivor play.
I would argue all the changes we get fall into those categories. The extra ten seconds of generator time doesn't really require a SWF at all, the chase buffs for killers don't hit solos harder, none of the perk nerfs are for solo's required perks like Kindred...
The only things I can think of that'd actually harm solo queue more are more minor things like Thana Legion getting slightly worse, and a handful of things (like OTR and the basekit anti-tunnel) even help solos a noticeable amount, so that's why I don't really think it's objectively true that solo queue are getting nerfed hard.
This game is all about time efficiency. By definition solo will not be as efficient. Killer has been made more efficient. Which means the less efficient solos are impacted more by those buffs.
-
The killer mains really are trying to pretend there will be no problems for solos.

Can't it?
Like I said, I've yet to hear where exactly that nerf came from. The stuff that makes solo queue hard is... basically unchanged?
Your lack of information is unchanged, all the teammate-aura and team-information perks are still there. Your need to have a few clutch self-heals available hasn't gone anywhere, though BK getting a nerf is a minor hit there. You still have all the best tools for doing that, so I don't consider that "nerfed hard". Your lack of coordination with your teammates hasn't changed, since nothing in this new update really requires coordination to counter or to use, respective to the role.
Those are the (balance-relevant) things that make solo queue harder. What am I missing here?
It's not that solos had a specific change that hurt them. Any survivor nerf hits solos harder than swf. That's how solo was nerfed hard.

I don't think that framing is helpful.
I think the better question to ask is "will survivors in general or solo queue in specific be unfairly harmed", and the answer to that - in my opinion - is no.
Some things got harder. Some tools were nerfed. For the most part, that happened to the things it needed to happen to, for the game's overall health.
Depends on how you define unfairly. Solo queue got nerfed hard though. That really can't be denied.

My guess (and it's just a guess) is that there's two main groups
1) People genuinely concerned about solo queue, worried that the basekit BT won't be enough, that tunnelling will increase with a less common, weaker DS, frustrated that the info changes to solo queue won't come for over a year now...I hope it won't be as bad as all that but they're valid enough concerns
2) People who don't particularly care about solo queue but are latching onto that in a last-ditch effort to save their favourite perks (mostly DH but there's a significant amount more upset about IW, understandably)
I'm in group one mostly. Though I can't pretend to not be pissed they gutted Botany.
-
I would assume no since you keep everything when you prestige in the new system. That said it's entirely possible they didn't even think about it.

This patch is such a healthy change to the game. Gen speeds have been addressed and dealt with, along with camping and tunneling. Metas have been butchered. Dead Hard is dead (which is a massive relief lol). Basekit BT isn't that hard to deal with compared to Dead Hard atleast. The endurance effect stacking is now fixed after the ptb. And the grind has been reduced.
But some players (especially survivors) are threatening to leave the game saying "oh killer sided patch, solo queue is destroyed". You do realize that these slight killer buffs were necessary because kill rates weren't high enough in the first place right?
Tunneling and camping weren't addressed. They were made stronger. Survivors got nothing this patch. Basekit BT is easily waited out. Hell they even gutted Self Care. ######### Self Care for crying out loud. Why wouldn't Survivors be unhappy?

The devs set the rules of the gameIn code. Do you see voice comms in the base game? no. You use Discord.
SWF using voice comms is cheating, SWF is just unfair but not totally broken, can be tolerated. Voice comms is cheating.
People already tune nvidia settings, also "stretched resolution" was a thing too. Clearly nothing to do with "The Rules of The Game".
They've repeatedly said it's not cheating. You just don't like the answer.

THIS. But they don't want to admit that SWF+voice comms is CHEATING and at the same time and Survivors want to nerf Nurse "because it breaks the rules of the game". It's just sad.
Also Nurse had several nerfs and it's very hard to use.
The devs set the rules of the game. They've said many times swf isn't cheating. So no matter how much you stomp your feet and cry about it swf is still not cheating.

Self-Care was shockingly bad already, and people still used it. That one needed to be gutted even if all others didn't, because people still insisted on using it for some godforsaken reason.
Calm Spirit was intended to be a buff, to be fair. Not a nerf.
And, y'know, they did? They did buff other perks to make them more attractive, on top of the multitude of perks that are nice and provide clear value but couldn't compete with the power creep of the current meta.
Self Care got a bad rap because it was misused. Yes, they did buff perks. The problem was they never nerfed the meta ones. At least not to a significant degree.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3059947#Comment_3059947
If, after the nerfs, they were still viable and good... why would anyone stop using them?
Because hopefully they also buffed other perks to be inclined with the power of the nerfed ones? Let's face it. There's alot of bad perks in this game and there shouldn't be any. Something as atrocious as new Self Care or Calm Spirit should never have made it to live.
-
@jesterkind said:
Respectfully I disagree.
If all you do is buff less frequently used perks, nobody will swap off their meta loadouts because they'd have no reason to. Even if you buffed less frequently used perks to be as absurdly strong as the current meta loadouts, that's not going to fix the problem because you just have the current problems on top of new ones.
In order to shake up a meta effectively you have to nerf the most commonly used things, and quite noticeably to boot. Otherwise it's shifting the responsibility of the supposed shakeup onto players to choose to stop using their same-old same-old, which they're just not going to do en masse.
The goal was to make players run different perks, and I think they achieved that admirably. In some cases it's a one to one swap, but there's still going to be more room for experimentation and variety here.
Many meta perks needed a nerf. Not to be made so terrible nobody will run them.

I don't know if I'd go that far. You can certainly do well without it. But if the goal is to maximize your chances to win with the best loadout possible, I'd say BT is more often than not going to show up in your build.
The rise of proxy camping and tunneling is what made it a required perk in my opinion.

No, I would say that BT was generally considered one of the strongest Survivor perks for the entirety of its existence (including before it was nerfed from its initial incarnation and each time it was buffed since then).
I'm not saying it was ever a bad perk. I'm saying it felt necessary to run.

A survivor perk shouldn’t invalidate killer lunges, just because a survivor has good reaction time.
A survivor should have to predict a killer lunge, instead of getting an automatic extra health state because they have good reaction time.
That's literally the point of the perk.

The thing about Nurse is the matches are rarely enjoyable. You either get the baby Nurse who you absolutely stomp, or the God tier one that slugs the entire team in two minutes. She can be alot of fun to face when you get that rare intermediate Nurse. The match where it's a good back and forth. Unfortunately those games are exceedingly rare.

I literally am amazed and shocked WHY people bring stupid 5Ok tax as a problem. It is NOTHING compared to BBQ and WGLF removal. NOTHING!
Removal or BBQ and WGLF bonus is going to make everything much much worse than any 5Ok tax. Of course, combining 5Ok and BBQ/WGLF removal brings entire grind into whole another level, but BBQ/WGLF is the main problem, not 50k tax.
They are both horrendous decisions. Realistically we'll never get them to admit the mistake they made with Bbq or Wglf. We might have a chance of undoing this one at least.

Exactly. Remove "Plunderer's Instinct" entirely and include it's possibilities to luck to find better items in chests. And luck should also affect the chances of spawning hatch near you. Luck as of now, is completely useless in this game. And the mist doesn't do anything. You can see Killers from miles away nowadays because the maps are too bright.

Then you're a biased killer main too. Have some self awareness. Deathslinger as fine as is, he doesn't need to be made stronger in chase when he's already near unloopable if the person playing him has ever played an FPS before cause of the amount of tiny holes on tiles.
While they most definitely are a heavily biased killer main. I disagree about Slinger. He is miserable to play as. They over nerfed him. This is coming from someone who's second most hated killer is Slinger.

I think it needs to be reverted and a cooldown added. Ads being basically instant, but when you release it you can't ads again for 1 second.
