Clown's lunge does seem a bit harder to evade than other killers. I think he falls into the same category as Freddy and Pig in that they have more sideways attacks than vertical ones.
-
I see your concern, but there is a tutorial now. This would literally be like 1 extra step. Also how about "Only the last survivor remaining in the trial can pick the hatch lock. Otherwise you need a key". That's the main part of this.
-
Pretty sure it's a no. I have an X but not an HDR 4k TV. I only really got it because my old Xbox (gen 1) was starting to fail and I figured it'd be better to spend a little extra money now to futureproof myself.
If a game has HDR or 4k capabilities, it's usually splattered everywhere so you can't miss it.
-
If you increase gen time in any capacity you just make camping that much more effective, so no.
What the game needs is a way to prevent survivors from doing multiple gens at once. Something that would ensure the MINIMUM game time is 5 minutes or something, if survivors are completely optimal. That way killer has time to chase and catch people, and 1 chase does not result in 3 gens getting done at once.
Basically when a gen is complete no other gens should be able to be completed within something like 30 seconds. Simple. No you can only do 1 gen at a time, and if a gen pops the killer can make a choice to go around and kick other gens to slow it down a bit more. "But people will just 99 gens" yea, so what. You can't escape by 99ing gens, let alone the fact that keep a gen running against a good killer is actually quite difficult.
-
If there's a chance you could get banned for something so trivial, why bother?

I think this game is plenty scary. Other day I was Huntress and I saw a Nea. No joke, I'm scared to go to sleep now.

When you play against a Billy expert, it's actually very scary tho, especially when he manages to hit unusual chainsaw hits during loops.
That's only "OMG this is bull #########, I'm gonna depip" scary.
I'm talking about sleep paralysis "Satan is about to eat my soul" type of scary.

Guys I got the answer, stop bumping the thread thanks.

Because everything survivors do is toxic and trolling and deserves to be punished. They never do stuff for points, rank, or just because that's what you are SUPPOSED to do in the game.
I would sabo'd every single hook on the map before I left.

Snatched would be complete bullshit for survivors in my opinion, however the other 3 don't seem like bad ideas.Well seeing as it's rather difficult to grab survivors out of actions I think it's fair. It's also very telegraphed to the survivors if they watch the killer check lockers, so it would deter that strategy of jumping into a locker to avoid a hit since you would not only be more likely to get caught but you are also giving the killer a one hit down. It's meant to force survivors off gens sooner rather than later as you approach, since they would rather stop doing the gen close to you to ensure you don't grab them and get a token. Also +40% range isn't that much considering you have to be almost right on top of the survivors to grab them anyway. It's like 1m range, so with the perk it's 1.4m. Not a huge difference, just enough to make it a tad easier to grab you.

I think that 5 seconds is the sweet spot. 4 is kinda too fast IMO. As for the 0 progression I would rather that Dream Demon knock you out of actions for even just 2 seconds (similar to Doc's shocks). That would be a lot more valuable than 0 progression because being asleep doesn't actually matter if you're not being chased.
-
It would be cool as killer to be able to summon some sort of AI buddy that would basically allow you to be in multiple places at once. The AI would be simple, in that it would just chase survivors in a predictable path, but since you can act how you want it means that while the AI is chasing them you can be going around to cut them off. It also means that you could sort of gang up on a survivor.
Only problem is that no AI exists in this game AFAIK, and writing AI is difficult, especially if it's going to achieve anything in a game like this.

No offends, but no chance. During the last event we saw, the Chinese New Year event, Xbone players had constant disconnect issues. Literally every single game seemed to have at least one person not load into the match, plus you constantly had the game freeze during a match. It was common to load in and there only be two survivors. If more than one person played one of those stupid event offerings, you were guaranteed multiple DCs.
Xbone players lost countless event offerings wasted with disconnects, they didn’t compensate. We lost loads of rank thanks to disconnecting, they didn’t reimburse in any way. We lost tons of items and offerings in games where we got disconnected, nothing. We lost loads of bloodpoints having to waste through on bloodwebs for those stupid offerings, got nothing back.
Theres no way they’d offer us something for the trouble because then they’d be admitting there is actual trouble. Right now they can just blame the ludicrous wait on MS/Sony and the certification process, which is exactly what they have been doing.
Bet! They extended it by two weeks just for them. That is literally compensating for the disconnects
Except they didn't fix the ######### game and it would still crash constantly for those 2 weeks.

I love how people get so salty about teabagging, like it only exists in DBD. SMH
Sure your idea would be great! But only if every time a kill did a "yes yes" or "no no" it despawns a hook.
-
The obsession perk is very interesting. The details need work, and it's kinda WAY overpowered if they take the deal and then betray you, but the concept is actually very cool. I like the idea that a survivor can rat out their friends for BP and it benefits you as the killer too.
What should happen is that every time the survivor does the pointing gesture toward a surv within a certain distance in front of them (cone shape area, something like how Premonition or Spinechill works) it will reveal that surv's aura for 4 seconds. If the killer hits that survivor within the next say 40 seconds, then the deal is made and the obsession gets a BP bonus (I don't think it should be a multiplier, just a flat say 1500BP awarded per deal post trial) and the killer, well they get a free hit on someone. HOWEVER, ratting out your friends for BP should cost you, so every time you do it you lose 10 seconds on the hook. That way the killer can really milk a greedy survivor, 1 hook them after like 8 deals and basically kill them in 30 seconds or something. Though maybe put a stipulation in that says as long as at least 1 deal was made the killer is forbidden to kill the obsession first. That way if you do 8 deals and get hooked, you drop to a pixel in 30 seconds, but if the killer was just trying to abuse the hook timer it just sits there until you get saved. It forces the killer to at least kill someone else first before the obsession, which gives the obsession a bit of a buffer to ensure the deals are fair (and also a way to turn the deal against the killer if things play out right).
Killer's power is interesting, however I'd like to point to how much of a failure Hologram ability was in Halo 4 which is literally the exact same thing you describe, minus going invisible. The problem is that the clone doesn't react like a person. If you time it wrong it will just kinda run into a wall or something. And if you make it chase the survivors it has to look REAL, but AI pathfinding will give it away because it will look very janky and non-organic. There is potential, and if we get a killer with that kinda power the obsession perk would be perfect.
Other killer perks seem like alternate versions of other perks. Survivor perks are kinda lame. I would put more work into the obsession concept and find a way to make everything else work more with/against that for killer/surv respectively.

I just had a game earlier as Huntress with NOED and Iri heads/belt. It's not that amazing of a combo, and it can definitely be countered. I would rather have Ruin over NOED and fast throws over insta-downs.

I'm not totally scummy as a survivor though. I don't hook farm people or put them into a position where they will die on purpose or sandbag them. If I can help it I will keep them alive, but only if it would benefit me not because I actually care if they escape or not (usually). The same goes for killers (most of the time).
We don't tunnel or camp you because we want you to suffer (except when you constantly taunt us, then we want you to burn in hell). We tunnel mostly because it's easier to down an injured suvivor and give him 2nd/3rd hook to remove him from the game. If we see scratch marks around the hook, we will stay or go away and return in a few seconds. If all gens are done we will secure our last kill.If we tunnel and/or camp we do it because it is effective (usually).
I buy this for most cases of camping/tunneling. I get it. But when I give you a free hit and you still tunnel/camp the guy I just saved that's when it's not a tactical decision, but one of either a bad killer or a scummy person.
Also the fact it's easy is a problem considering how rewarding it can be. The game should punish killers that go after just one survivor the whole time over the ones that go after everyone more equally. That shouldn't be a viable _offensive_tactic like it's often used. Defensive, yes it makes sense, but it shouldn't be so rewarding that killers become trained to just do it right off the bat.
-
I started recently using Whispers 2 (40m) when I switched to Huntress, because I found it more helpful to know when some could hear my humming than there was a survivor nearby. I mean yes it's great for endgame, but I feel like a smaller radius makes it harder to find them because you need to be closer. There are also times as Huntress when I was going back and forth between 2 gens or the exit gates, and having the extra range meant I did not need to move as close to see if a survivor was on the gen/door.
I get that shrinking the range is good for knowing a survivor is nearby, but I also like the longer range ability to save time moving between objectives.
What if instead of changing the size they just made Whipsers more intense the closer you are up to a certain range. So at 40m you just barely hear whispers, and it gets louder up to 24m where it maxes out. That would let it do both long and short ranges, as well as being used like it has been for endgame, perhaps even more effective because at the outer edges you can better pinpoint what direction they are.
Also I mean the change in volume should be very subtle curve, so that you really have to focus and listen to pinpoint the survivor. Just so that way it's not too powerful, it'd take some skill to use.

ITS all well and good what you’re saying and I do agree but you’ve hardly ranked high enough as either killer or survivor to justify what you’re saying entirely.
ive been Rank 1 killer and 4 survivor and it becomes a true chore as killer at Rank 1 and an absolute walk in the park as a similarly low ranked survivor.
im currently a 13 killer and I’m still managing 2-3 kills a game which they say is their average yet I feel the average per game should be 3-4 kills.
its demoralising to not get two kills that means you only got 50% of the people playing against you and to me that’s not a good game a thing all
a 3k is good, a 2k or 1k are just awful.Emblems were made so you don't have to focus on kills. This is the problem with killer mentality, just like the problem with survivor mentality is they think they should escape. That's the ultimate results of your actions if you succeed, but it's not necessarily your goal in terms of ranking up.
Also I've been rank 1 survivor and I've seen PLENTY of camping/tunneling killers at high ranks. Nay, all ranks. It comes down to the killer's lust for kills. Killers that do not focus entirely on a particular kill usually end up being the better killers. They chase everyone, keep us all healing or off gens, constantly have someone hooked, and will gladly take any chance you give them to catch you. I've also had games against killers where I unhook someone, heal them, then let the killer get a free hit on ME so this guy can get away, only to have the killer just let me go and go after the guy I just saved. These killers are the ones that end up losing 3 or 4 kills because they don't take opportunities when they come. They just really want that one guy, but end up losing him near the end and then everyone escapes and they cry foul.
Also the only thing I would consider a "walk in the park" as survivor at rank 1 is that I know I'm with other rank 1 survivors so I know that they know what to do. I know if I'm getting chase, they are all on gens. I know if I get hooked that someone will come get me when they see another survivor get chased or after they finish their gen. And I know if push comes to shove, they will be selfish and leave me to my own fate (hence why if there are 2 people left and I get slugged I DO NOT crawl to the last guy because that's how you both get killed for sure). When rank resets and I'm with rank 20's and stuff, I can't rely on other for anything. Literally I had a game last night where I did 4 gens by myself, opened a gate, and had 3 unhooks (out of 5 hooks). I was the only one to escape (it was a Pig the last guy almost got out through the hatch with RBT on). But rank 1 killers are no jokes, they will catch you and kill you very fast. I've been in games against a rank 1 killer with rank 20 survs and the game is literally over in 2 minutes, and I'm just standing there watching everyone getting hook with 5 gens to do wondering what I can do to keep a safety. I also have had plenty of rank 1 only games where the killer gets a 4k, usually because we made some critical mistake like trying to make a yolo save in the basement, or leaving 3 gens too close together, but also sometimes just because the killer was very fast at catching us that we couldn't really do gens that fast.
-
You can have 4 top tier survivors in your game that would be as good as most SWF groups. Communication makes a difference, yes, but SWF groups are also very altruistic which can work in the killer's favor. SWF is also an unavoidable thing on Xbox, since people can just invite each other to a party while in the lobby. They don't even need to search together or be friends to technically become an SWF. I get random party invites all the time playing solo, which I ignore because I don't want to talk to some random #########-head on this game who will probably be salty garbage anyway (these guys usually always die first).
Truth is SWF isn't going away because it's a MAJOR selling point of the game now. It's part of what makes survivor fun, playing with your friends. And they can be strong but that's again only because survivors on their own are very strong. And they won't give killers a choice because killers will end up just opting-out of SWF games all the time, making it impossible to find games.
-

I play on Mac

-
I have always done this as survivor once I realized I could. I play solo a lot and have been in games with 3 other really good survivors where we all understand what to do and how to do it without really communicating. It's part of the game, the problem is killer get so focused on kills that they think this behavior is always toxic, when in reality it's more like I'm just getting bloodpoints, Benevolence, or just because keeping that survivor alive is beneficial to me in some way. I will take a hit if it means this guy lives, because that means another chase, and that means the last gen will get done. Hell yea I will run in front of you and kiss your fists.
Again I'm not trying to be toxic, I'm trying to get points and save someone so that I can survive. In contrast, I will straight up let another survivor fully bleed out if I had more chance to pip by waiting for him to die so I can take the hatch. Killers never see this behavior though, because it benefits them when survivors are selfish. Though they will complain about the hatch being unfair, which again they only do because it NEGATIVELY affects them.
Oh and there are the times where I'm in a crazy long chase and I wanna cash out the Evader, so I will straight up run to any other survivor I find and rat them out. All the better if I know they are the weak survivor of the group. I have no problem leading the murder machine to give you your birthday surprise if it means I escape the chase to live another day AND get a crapton of Evader points. I also have no problem straight up leaving the trial if I can if someone is about to be hooked and that could hurt my Benevolence. I'd rather leave and not take the -10 points thanks. And one time, I straight up used my key on the hatch when there were 2 other survivors left. Didn't even pip only got a safety, just didn't want to deal with the killer anymore because they were really good. IDGAF if you have to do 1 more gen and they are all right next to each other. That's your problem now.
Again killers would NEVER see this as that bad because me doing all this benefits them in some way. Really watch True he will gladly down/rehook someone then be like "I think this girl is farming her". Well if you think that then don't let her get farmed! Why not go after the guy that's farming and make them suffer for their crime? Nah, just leave them to the end so I can farm everyone else.
I'm not saying killers have it easy, there are a lot of things going against them, but you have a very narrow view of what's actually going on in the game. I feel if killers could be on the receiving end of survivors AS A SURVIVOR they would get it better.
-
I love how killers so vehemently defend camping/tunneling fail to ignore the fact that it's easy to do and highly rewarding if survivors take the bait (which in the emblem system they are forced to do, despite this not actually being a team game and me having no obligation to save anyone if it won't benefit me). It really isn't necessary to kill survivors as killer to pip anymore, yet killers still get so hungry for kills they often focus on it so hard they miss clear opportunities to make actual plays than can sway the game in there favor. A lot of the best killers I've played up against take those chances, and end up slugging 3 people at once. Yea, 2 will get up as you hook one but that's all 4 survivors off of gens, then the game kinda snowballs in your favor. I have literally unhooked someone first 60 seconds of the game and THROWN myself at the killer to chase me, sometimes giving them a free hit, only for them to completely ignore me and go for the guy they just hooked (even if fully healed). It's really stupid.
I don't think SWF is the problem, rather just that survivors objectives can be done too fast. If there was some way to impose a minimum time for a game (say 5 minutes) where all 5 generators cannot be done before that so that killers have a fair chance to actually chase multiple survivors around that would solve more problems than removing SWF I think. You can have just 4 really good survivors that do 3 gens before you caught the first guy, and at this point you lose as killer and there is nothing you can do. They aren't rushing, they aren't being toxic, it's just the way the numbers work out. It's like "hey I spawned on a gen, lemme just do that until the killer comes along" times 4, so when the killer does come along there are still 3 gens being done and they can't stop it.

I mean that it's a pain in the ass to move around on that map before gens get done. Sometimes the little door is open, other times you literally have to go completely around. And everything looks the same so it's confusing to me.
-
Camping is a serious problem with the emblems for the simple fact that the killer can basically depip/safety pip everyone by camping every survivor they catch. The emblems FORCE YOU to save someone to rank up, if you don't then bye bye Benevolence. If the killer didn't catch anyone until gens are almost done, they can basically make sure no one pips by camping. The only way to pip against a camper is to do 3 gens BY YOURSELF, escape without getting downed, and escaping at least 1 30 second chase. Good luck with that when there are 3 other survivors gen rushing YOU.
Like I get why killers camp because they have to sometimes, but the way the emblems work it's like they can go "well if I don't pip neither does anyone else", then camps someone to death and maybe even gets a second or third kill because survivors are again FORCED to go for the save. Yea the killer loses too when they camp, but it's damn near impossible to pip when you are guaranteed NOTHING in 1 whole category.
And there is nothing you can do to stop a camper. BT doesn't help either if the killer is right there waiting, it just means you trade places on the hook and STILL depip because of Benevolence (and now also Unbroken). It's really dumb that you can lose points in an emblem and can't recover.
At least before if the killer decided to camp is wasn't a guaranteed depip/safety, it was actually a very poor tactic. But now that I'm literally forced to save someone I can't save it is the most trolly thing you can do as a killer.
-
SB is used to counter ambushes. That's like the whole point. If you made it not work against that it'd be quite pointless. It's there to give you more space from the killer.
The problem before was that if you ran to an infinite you could effectively get multiple SB's and keep the infinite going. Running away from an ambush isn't what makes SB so powerful, it's the ability to get it over and over in a chase. Now you can't, so SB will go back to what it is meant to do, counter ambushes.
-
I block people (on Xbox) that are toxic or give me some other reason to not want to play with them. If they show up in my lobby I reset. That's about it for me.
I also don't understand why killers dodge some lobbies. Sometimes it's because 1 person has a flashlight, the rest don't even have an item. Like really, can't handle 1 flashlight?
What the game needs to do is only allow survivors 40 seconds to pick stuff and ready up, then give killer 20 seconds to adjust their build. As a killer I get really annoyed when everyone is ready but 1 guy, they don't even last minute switch or anything just waste everyone else's time.

Meh, I think we kinda have time.Ruin is a must because it pushes the round to be 1-2mins long, which is way more important overall than having a random buff that may not even come into play.
It will happen.
I was there when the Smash Melee competitive community began in 2003/2004. Around 2006 I made a video showing off a lot of fancy Fox moves like shine to upsmash, shield to shine, multi-shine, short hop double laser, shine to grab.
Know what was said to me at the time? "These tricks are really cool but no one will ever do them in a real match because they are impossible". Skip to 2016 Evo finals and literally every Fox does every single one of these tricks consistently, perfectly, and many times in a match.
My point is that at some time in the future, the general survivor population will be GOOD ENOUGH that Ruin won't bother them so much that they feel compelled to look for it before doing gens. When that day comes Ruin will drop to garbage tier. Trust me.
Marth and his depip squad already showed you what that looks like. Now just imagine if every survivor saw a Ruin SC and said to themselves "whatever".

I know, I was just posting this because it was something I wanted fixed for a while. I was just offering my suggestion.

Survivor main here. IDGAF about Ruin anymore. Most of the time I just power through it because it's honestly not hard to hit great skill checks, and even if you hit a normal skill check it only slows you down a little bit. If you double team gens, Ruin doesn't even matter.
Eventually most survivors will be a this point and then Ruin won't even be worth using.

Not having self care makes the game so passive. Survivors are willing to take a hit to help teammates because if the killer doesnt chace they can self heal. Without the option to heal yourself would any survivor purposely get hit?
I think games will be more passive and will take much longer wich ruins it. Some people already wait for someone to get hit by a killer before they start a generator. This will only happen more if you remove self care imo.
I would still take the hit if it means you will get free. 2 injured > 1 healthy and 1 hooked. Also you could still have a medkit if you want to self care, you just can't do it without one.
