Other than to entertain killers by making them feel good about themselves while they wait for their next SWF.
That's pretty much it, it's to give bad to average killers wins so they keep playing the game.

Best killer ever! In unrelated news I have been escaping most of my solo q matches today.
-
If they fixed matchmaking ######### killers would win as much, can't have that.
-
It's too bad about Stadia. It had the best performance out of all the streaming services I tried. Geforce Now probably has the best model as you own the games you stream.

Mainly just a hype thread. I usually play killer once in a blue moon for challenges but when ptb was up, it was nice to play a few super casual matches. This is something I see myself doing more often because of this feature.
How does everyone plan to utilize this feature if at all?
Outside of practicing killers with more complex mechanics that rely on collision (Blight, Billy) I see no use in it given how awful the A.I. is.

No they shouldn't because DCs are not Kills and that would cause idiots to DC more to cause Killer's "Kill" ratio to skyrocket leading to faulty stats leading to not needed nerfs. It was bad enough when The Patch came out every idiot and their kin were DCing and Suiciding on hooks to try and inflate Kill rates to cause the patch to be reversed....
In the end DCs should be their own separate stat....even then it wouldn't show much since people DC for the stupidest reasons
Got it, the community shouldn't have that information. But really even if DC's aren't kills they lead to kills. If someone DC's first down their team is most likely going to lose (usually.) So don't include stats from DC's or matches with DC's? Anyway lets just keep releasing stats that don't count things that actually effect the playerbase in actual matches.
-
Well it's possible that an experienced player could just be playing a survivor that never really use. But it is a thing to appear to be a baby to either not get dodged or to ######### with the killer.
-
I had a thought of a "fun" mode. It's just a timed mode, survivors try to do as many gens as possible and killers try to get kills. Only one hook for a kill but the survivor respawns across the map with some kind version of OTR. Once a gen is done it will respawn after a set amount of time. That's it, everyone gets to play and you can get a bonus for having more gens or kills. Might need to tweak a few things, gens speeds, number of gens on the map etc.

And I am always amazed how people still expect to be treated with regular respect and not being attacked for liking a certain thing. Reread your original comment and maybe pay attention to your tone. You might notice why your comment wasn't so well received, then.
No one says that Nurse has no issues, everyone knows that, but playing a certain killer or survivor shouldn't give you a blanc card to disrespect anyone.
But that might just be my old school two cents. Times are changing, I heared.
I was taught respect was earned. You want to play a broken killer go for it, just don't expect people to be happy about it.

Entitled suevivors in 3 .. 2 .. oh, they already beat me to it.
Yeah it's crazy some people feel entitled to a fair match were the outcome actually means something.
-
That's a little much? I've seen way worse, I wouldn't give that a second thought. But just to correct you it's not an ego issue, it's a fair game issue. Also Nurse players by far have the biggest egos. I don't know why but they think playing a broken killer and winning most their matches makes them amazing.

No point in these posts anymore. It's just the same people defending DC's and everyone else has actually played another online video game.
Doesn't really matter, the point is they're happening and ruining a lot of matches. It's a huge problem for solo players.
-
I think that game balance for solo is garbage and instead of just not playing the game people just quit/DC. I mean I wish they would just stop playing and buying cosmetics and chapters so BHVR would lose money but whatever.
-
I mean you need a reason why a Nurse would play like that? They're playing Nurse to begin with.

Recently I've been playing killer a lot (was a killer main for 2 years but took a 3 year break to play survivor) and was constantly being paired with survivors who were clearly much better than me. Game after game I was getting 1 kill if I was lucky, but the majority of the time it ended with 0 kills and maybe 3 hooks on a good day. It was getting so frustrating to even enjoy a game (I made a post about it a week or two ago).
Last night it seems my MMR has finally settled to where I should be. I feel like I'm on the edge though because if I get 4K, the next match is always a sweaty game.
Since I've noticed this I completely changed my outlook on killer and instead of going for the 4K, I always let the last 2 survivors escape (unless someone DC's or Suicides on Hook, in which case I let the last survivor go). This makes the game so much more enjoyable, and the survivors always appreciate it. The hate messages I used to recieve have turned into compliments and respect.
Since playing like this, I've had 8 back to back games where I could have got 4K, but was more than happy with 2K. Now I'm enjoying playing around with new builds without needing to use the meta or gen regression perks.
Just wanted to share my experience.
My opinion on you feeling your MMR is were it should be based on one day of it feeling right is that it's just a fluke. I had a day with mostly good matches as a survivor a month ago and thought the game was actually fun again but the next day it just went back to normal.

Okay and then what?
People will just AFK.
Srop treating the symptoms, treat the cause.
The cause is the game being imbalanced because of a ######### dev team, so that'll never be fixed.

Banning the DC players for intolerably long periods is the only way you're going to get people to stop.
A few hours or a couple days is clearly not enough.
They'll just kill themselves so it really doesn't matter. As long as the game is in the state it's in there should be a option to vote for forfeit.
-
I would probably give him the ability to teleport directly on a survivor. Limited range of course but just to be safe let's give him 2 charges, in case he misses the first. I know it sounds op and broken but how bout if he misses he'll get fatigued and need a few seconds to recover which of course doesn't give the survivor enough time to get out of range but whatever. Also let's make it so the hit after teleportation is a basic attack to proc all the good perks. If you don't agree that this would be a good idea and balanced you really just don't know the game very well. Only the best players would be able to get 600+ win streaks with him.

Well if you mean console the reason is mouse/keyboard is far more accurate than controller for her. Also last gen consoles fps is low which also contributes to Nurse being harder to play.

This is such backwards logic for a PVP game. So, if you get too good at a game, the game should either
- Ban you (which is what you are effectively asking for by giving players 3 hour queues)
- Just make you autolose a match by giving your opponents god mode or something
If the playstyle is broken, then you can surely show me 10 people with these streaks. Hell, show me just 3. You can't. Because he's the only one. Why would anyone get good at this game if the devs were going to ban them/give them unwinnable matches? And if it's the playstyle and not him being skilled, then you should have zero issues finding more examples.
If you think people getting hundreds of wins in a row is all skill and has nothing to do with using the most overpowered/broken ######### well I guess that's a take on it.

No I'm not saying people should be punished for being good. Either he's going against players well below his skill level or the playstyle is broken. I didn't elaborate which and I thought I was fair with my assessment.

i never said you said it takes 0 skill im saying that just because hes using something that you consider "broken" doesnt mean he wouldnt be able to do this on any other killer, i was simply stating that hes skilled its not the fact that hes playing with the condemned sadako build but that hes actually good at the game sorry if i upset you.
That reply was a lot nicer than I was expecting, good day to you sir.

dude he has 800+ hours on sadako hes talked about it on stream it takes actual skill to play a killer like this just because you lost doesnt mean it takes 0 skill
I never played against him so I don't know what you're talking about. I guess you just like to assume things or make ######### up to try and make your point. I never said it didn't take skill, I said it shouldn't happen in a game with matchmaking that's attempting to be balanced. Maybe work on your reading comprehension skills.
-
OnePumpWillie got a 215+ with condemned playstyle. Really any game that has matchmaking that should never happen. Either matchmaking should be fixed so people like OnePumpWillie would be in queue for 3 days or maybe the playstyle is broken and shouldn't be possible.

I think anyone who is complaining about OTR is just a scrub tunneler. Get gud.

I'm pretty sure it's just to separate the very top from the very bottom as far as "skill." I know it doesn't seem to work but if I jump on my wife's account I can tell I'm playing with new players on both sides.

Nah the people that dc are the problem. You refuse to learn and you refuse to train.
I hate to face nurse I go down in seconds and I know it's because I don't give care about learning how to run her.
Sure she is the strongest killer and there certainly are addons that could need a nerf but let's say they follow the request and nerf her and make her just bad. Who is the next one? There will alwqys be a strongest killer when nurse is gone people will insta dc against blight cause he is to strong and when he is nerft the pick wesker or spirit.
You will always have that sentiment of x is strongest so it should be nerfed that will never go away because people just don't like losing and many people are even saying they don't want to put effort into getting better because a game should not turn into a chore and then blame everything else so they can feel better.
There are countless survs out there that can run a good nurse and by that I don't mean a 5 gen chase because that's unreasonable and would mean the killer is to weak/matchmaking was bonkers. I know I know many survivor Dorn want to hear that but you are supposed to go down in a timely manner and land on the hook
The next would Blight, as for the rest TLDR.
-
Maybe BHVR is the problem, the Nurse player second.
-
If a survivor wants to body block after getting unhooked it's not tunneling, it's giving the survivor what they asked for.
-
Damn I thought the steam forums were super lenient based on the posts I've seen there.

I dont really know how to put this, but Im stuck in a situation that is VERY difficult to get out of.
I recently got a PC and swapped from PS4 to PC (leaving stuff behind obviously), as a result, getting a new account (through Steam) basically has me at bedrock MMR, paired with brand new players that just hide the entire game.
Most matches result in me completing 3-4 generators and dying on first hook by either getting face-camped for running the killer too well (therefore teammates do not try to save me out of fear) or my teammates would rather continue hiding instead of going for the save.
Im stuck in a situations where I do everything yet never escape, and my teammates do nothing and also never escape.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ACDMD85NI69C/screenshot-2848-29.png
In this example, my only decent teammate was the Yui, they lasted pretty long in chase and did generators. My two other teammates hid for the entire match and both were producing constant noise notifications from having 3 AFK crows on them.
Also, I had spectated a match that lasted until the servers closed due to a prolonged time limit... 2 people were hiding from the start of the match FOR THE FULL MATCH TIMER (basically taking the game hostage for the killer as well).
My best advice is to SWF out, even if you don't want to. Just find a group and play with them for a few weeks.

Nope, have you played the game? The game is #########, the devs are #########, and a large portion of the community is #########.

Simply turning off the DC penalty would make the game unplayable, as selfish players would actively DC in a cheater-free game.
But it is next to impossible to completely deal with cheaters.
Aftercare must be provided at the same time: with the HUSK system, the player who DC's will be turned into the AI according to his MMR, and the game itself will continue.
Game is already unplayable, yet people continue to play.

The increase in DCs isn't because of the SBMM, it's simply because people are bad at the game
I'm sure that can account for some the DCs, but really if match making actually was working correctly those "bad" players would still be having fun. Really the only thing the last patch did was make bad killers have an easier time killing bad survivors. But I really don't know why I'm responding to you since you're clearly just trolling.
-
Nurse being broken is a fact, no need to prove it.
-
@bm33 said:
This isn't feedback, it's a genuine question - why? It was already nerfed with the increase in gen times making it take longer to get to 60% progress of a gen. What is the reason to nerf a perk that is already easily counterable? It doesn't prevent or cancel a killer from being able to use their gen regression perks, only delays them for several seconds. So what was the reason behind the devs decision to nerf Blastmine?
Almo probably thought it was OP.

I am from the times where nurse had only fatigue and +5 blinks... yet back in the day I was able to beat nurses... I know, it's not easy to do but you can do beat a nurse... she is heavily penalized for missing a blink, it's not a "oh, she misses, she has another blink"... if she misses both blinks, she has to wait three seconds until she gets the second blink again... every killer will down you eventually if they've set your mind in doing so... the problem with nurse is that you can not do the same "hold W brainlessly" strategy so... learn to count her, Is it hard? Yes, but hard doesn't mean impossible.
######### are you talking about, if she misses a blink she's still in blink range or will be in a few seconds.

Instead of making more ######### DLCs fix solo que and MMR!
Rampant suicide, DCs and toxic killers are ruining the experience. There’s 0 integrity left in matches. I have a vested interest due to the amount of money and time I’ve put into this game and it’s now all of a sudden irrelevant and obsolete.
Killer queues are too long for me personally so I either punish myself playing this or not at all. This game isn’t fun anymore.
Edit: and when I do manage to play killer, all I get are 3 and 4 man squads with skill, where are all these players when I’m playing solo queue? I really think MMR should be reverted to old ranking system because as soon as I hit purple ranks most my matches are pristine dbd.
They can't fix stupid.

You mastered a very difficult killer. You’ve proven your mastery thousands of times by the number of games you’ve 4k’d and chases you’ve won over great survivors, etc etc. It’’s still fun to do but everyone recognizes it’s a bit too easy at this point you know? It’s imbalanced, overpowered and just ruins games. As soon as people hear nurse and then either see someone downed inside 20 seconds or get downed themselves, it’s over. Suicide, DC, etc. So maybe it’s time to move on. Challenge yourself with something difficult again instead of resting on your laurels and treading well worn paths. Just a thought…
You really can't reason with Nurse mains, I mean they're playing Nurse. Lol at very difficult killer.

Look, Nurse is a really difficult killer to be good with, especially on console. The vast majority of people playing Nurse are just casual gamers trying to have fun. It's not fair to punish them just for trying to have fun in the game. They're not the ones that are running Starstruck, Agitation, Floods of Rage, etc. Those 8k hour God Nurses are EXTREMELY rare, they're not even worth considering! If you run into of those Nurses, just take the L and move on! What we need to do is buff all the other killers up to Nurse level and then buff survivors to compensate!
No, no to everything you said.
