I would rather they stop supporting the game on last gen consoles, rather than keep taking our money for a game that is neglected and in such a poor state of performance and optimisation.

It’s unacceptable really, and as said many times, it’s not the hardware at fault when many more demanding and impressive games run great on the same hardware; it’s just the neglect of any attempt at improving things for last gen console players as we are not valued as customers despite them still happily taking our money and time.

They actually make things worse by neglecting optimisation to add new lighting and graphics to please PC players who can constantly upgrade hardware to keep up with the performance hits.

Hell they haven’t even added basic controller options like dead zone or acceleration which most games have as default, in the entire games history of many years. It’s sad really and very depressing.

Absolutely agree. They've never fully supported last gen consoles and still profited off those players. I find the whole situation pretty disgusting.

  • I'd be surprised if BHVR even attempts to optimize the game for last gen consoles at this point. The game has ran poorly for years on PS4, XBOX, and Switch. I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped all support on these platforms within a year or two.

It’s the devs fault that the player base plays unnecessarily sweaty? They could nerf every perk in the game and we would still find a way to suck the fun out.

Well yes it comes down to bad match making and bad game design.

  • @Peanits said:

On average, you'll pip up more than you'll lose a pip. And more importantly, both you AND your opponent can pip up at the same time. This is totally fine for a reward system like emblems/grades, but it's very bad when it comes to matchmaking. It makes it so over the course of a month, pretty much anybody who plays enough with end up in or near the highest bracket, more or less pairing anyone against anyone. This was pretty much exactly what happened under the old ranking system: Just before rank reset, matchmaking was all over the place since everyone was so close together.

The emblem system also isn't a good indicator of how skilled you are since it doesn't take your opponents skill into consideration. For instance, if you are a low MMR player playing against other low MMR players, you can still have a match where you pip or even double pip. But that doesn't suddenly make you as good as a high MMR player who does that same. You did well in that match with other similarly low MMR people, but you wouldn't do as well in a match with amazing players.

That's why we keep these systems separate. Emblems are purely a monthly ladder that you can climb for rewards (whether you're brand new to the game or an absolutely legend), and MMR is there purely to make sure you'll win about half of your matches. Mixing the two would either make it difficult to get your rewards- unless you're absolutely amazing at the game- or have a seriously negative effect on matchmaking.

Seems like the game was healthier and more popular when those systems weren't separate.

Nothing, she has always been unpopular. Most people find her playstyle boring.

I have met less than 10 percent of this community's survivor mains who weren't toxic pos. And every reply you make convinces more and more you do every single toxic thing I mentioned and most likely enjoy and relish in a killer mains frustration.

A lot of the things you call toxic are just playing the game.

  • Wraith isn't a strong killer. I would suggest maybe checking Youtube to see if you can find some videos on playing against him. You could also play him yourself, trust me it won't take long before you run into a team that will show you how to play against him.

  • Like are you complaining about camping in general or camping at 5 gens? I mean if the killer has lost control of the match and can't defend the remaining gens the best play is to secure a kill and obviously that's also true in end game. If you're talking about camping at 5 gens and tunnelling yeah that's a scummy playstyle but how would you fix it though?

The just do gens and bring reassurance stuff is just what's currently available to try and not reward that kind of playstyle.

  • I dunno what we're talking about here but with all the thirst trap talk I would like to say I'm sick of double standard and respectively ask the devs to release a g-string Jane cosmetic.

  • I get it, you don't like sweaty games all the time but...

"The main issue isn't the SWF. More often than not I win against the aforementioned sweaty goon squads, but I don't feel satisfaction in the end. On the contrary, the stress it took me to win against these tactics sucks the joy out of the experience. At the end of a session, I feel mentally drained, even if I've won more games than I have lost."

To me you're kind of saying that you don't like games were you have to try and to me that's kind of problematic. I mean I would think you have to sweat a little to win most of your matches. I don't think many survivors that come in with meme builds and goof around expect to win, especially if they're solo.

You also say that even running a meme build you get 1-2 kills, which to me would be fantastic if I was just messing around.

Having said all that I don't really like SBMM, at least I don't like how it's calculated in this game. I would prefer a ranked mode with a ruleset voted for by the community and go back to something like the old system for casual play. I also think your idea about off meta perks giving a BP boost is great, or maybe the devs could specifically make perks that have fun effects that give BP gains.

  • Is that a thing? I dunno I spread my bp across all the survivors, I think I have few over 10 and the rest at 5 prestige. I just thought I would be dodged more if I had a high prestige survivor and get more sweaty matches.

  • I'm sure the devs will get around to it, they've been busy creating a aesthetically amazing, well designed killer with a playstyle the community will surely love.

Good job you cant read, if you could youd understand matchmaking doesnt match people correctly at all and if you think a highly skilled player shouldn't win bad survivors then theres no hope.

Game is survivor sided, just because people cant loop or do gens doesnt mean it's not.

The game has and always will be survivor sided at the highest level and killer sided at the lowest, and theres no point saying its killer sided because of bad players...

people still find a way to go down at safe loops. The game is survivor sided, they just have to learn the game and apply it.

Edit: you also make up numbers, killer have gone on winstreaks as have solo survivors and swfs. Except alot are actually lies and/or cheated in it by deranking mmr off stream etc. Like the 300winstreak demo. You show me one continuous live stream of someone winning 100games as a single killer without a draw/loss. I bet you cant, and I also bet you alot of these experienced killers arent versing 4 survivors of equal skill and there will be 1-2 weak links on the team who shouldn't be in that lobby.

Again the game is survivor sided because you say so, because survivors are bad and killers aren't? Bad killers have a lot more tools to use compared to bad survivors. There is also plenty of proof of legit win streaks, the numbers aren't "made up" I'm not going to do research for you. You just disregard anything you don't want to hear and rely on your own personal opinion while also being passive aggressive.

  • "The truth is there just not many good killer perks left that effectively reliably slows down the game." There are plenty and I don't know why the HUD update would drive any killers away unless they really just rely on getting matched with baby survivors with no game sense to get their wins.

  • If you needed Eruption to win games you probably shouldn't have been winning them.

Which is already extremely outdated, and 60% is not even massive when we actually think about how this game works so not "vastly favor the killer".

Okay so the most recent data we have from 5 months ago is outdated and a +60% kill rate isn't high enough. I guess you're right, the game is officially survivor sided because you said so.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3347059#Comment_3347059

There is countless survivor streaks too, using outliers to back up your opinion is strange.

Using data from good players is strange? How about just data in general? BHVR released kill rates and they actually go up in higher MMR and vastly favor the killer.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Believe it or not the game is still massively survivor sided, issue lays more with matchmaking than anything else.

I'm a solo Q survivor main myself and theres definitely alot of challenging games but that's not because the killers are stronger or survivors have gotten far weaker etc. But mainly because the matchmaking sucks, seriously look at the HUD I bet the games you lose is due to people barely on gens or able to lead a chase.

The worst thing about survivor is even if you play stupidly well you can still go down in mmr because your team was awful and shouldn't ever of been in that lobby, this just keeps happening the more you lose.

I still escape most of mine but I can tell even earlier on now if I will win or lose just by looking at the HUD and how long it takes people to get on a gen just at the start of the game, for some reason people dont do their objective... but we cant balance around 1 or more teammates being useless or then the game is even more imbalanced when people do actually play properly

If it was massively survivor sided you wouldn't have killers going on 100, 200, 300,400,500+ win streaks.

except he kinda is considering you can only hit survivors running in a straight line. Even as survivor I can easily demolish any console blight because blight on console literally CANT counter being spun making his power useless except for mobility

Really bold statement, I don't really see many people claiming to be able to "demolish" a specific console killer as a single survivor. You must truly be a god at the game. I've seen a few good Blight console players, they're definitely not as oppressive as a cracked PC Blight but they're pretty good, they better watch out for you.

1 game no one was hardcore tunneled.

After the ninth game I was like oh idk how I endured this for so long(maybe cause I bring OTR all the time) and went back to play killer.

Nobody in this thread said that. You're making up someone to be upset with. Very very strange.

The title literally says to add a queue timer for certain killers, don't you think that's punishing people for wanting to play those killers?

After a couple year break I started playing again in December and for the first time ever I reached red rank 1 as survivor. (I know ranks don’t mean much except for BP’s)

This month it seems harder. Did something change?

Meanwhile I hit red rank 1 as killer.

And I’m not the greatest survivor or killer either.

Is it just me experiencing this?

The old ranking system was "harder" however it seems with BHVR MMR system that to me has only made the game worse and the 3 gen kick/tunnel meta I find it a lot harder now to get to rank 1 as a solo survivor.

  • They should just do what they're going to do for maps. If you have a Nurse game the next queue will not pair you with a Nurse.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

SO how can you "mostly play Survivor but play Killer regularly"

But anyway... I don't know cause I don't play the game

I'm also mostly awake but sleep regularly. Is it that hard to comprehend that I play killer on a regular basis but most my time I play survivor? Here I'll simplify it for you, I play survivor 75 percent of the time and play killer 25 percent of the time.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/363443/what-is-your-ideal-survival-ratio

I don't care about kill rates. Not one bit.

I care about the delta between 'this match was fair and I could have won that/lost that' and 'this match was silly, and I can't think of a way I could have won/lost that' stomps.

Stop survivors from quitting out of any match that isn't going well, incentivize them to stick it out with better scoring/BP returns on losing games.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336445#Comment_3336445

    Why would it be dead?

It didn't die when killers were horrible.

"I care about the delta between 'this match was fair and I could have won that/lost that' and 'this match was silly, and I can't think of a way I could have won/lost that' stomps."

This 100%, I feel most of my frustrations come from games were someone quits right away and that frustration bleeds into my other matches.

to back this up the killer role is awarding bonus 100% BP. Usually the game is short on survivors and not killers?

Yeah well the new hud was bound to attract people to play survivor. But really I feel little difference in my solo q matches.

  • @AnnaEliza365 said:

This is a question for killer mains. What is, in your opinion, the ideal survival/death ratio that BHVR should aim for? 50%? 60%? 75%?

Personally (survivor main), I think 70% is a pretty good kill rate to aim for.

    I don't know why it wouldn't be 50%.

How do you get her to fit through doors / windows? What would her power even be? Even in RE8 (Village) in the playable gamemode she's more of a brawler character. Also I would say I already know the image isn't fully accurate - But in regards to comparison it's pretty accurate demonstrating how bigger she is compared to Nemesis who is already quite big in DBD.

I mean they can just make her the same height as Nemesis in game. She'll still tower over the survivors.

At the highest level of play, survivors are far more powerful than anything ANY (yes even nurse) killer can ever bring. No killer will ever be able to stand a chance against a team like this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtENJZ_z0zw&t=1s

Tell that to the 500+ teams in a row Alf beat.

  • @LooeDbD said:

Sure solo Q is more bearable now, but killer also now is essentially dealing with SWF levels of information from the survivors every match.

    No

  • @ironblade said:

They planned an entire roadmap, they shared news, they promised and delivered. They made SoloQ much better now with the new HUD that they worked so hard on and they surprised us with Maurice skin and william birkin for blight. Why are you hating on them even though they deliver good patches?

"They made SoloQ much better" I mean I guess but it has been an absolute nightmare since 6.1 and was pretty awful before that. Even with the new hud it's still going to be pretty pointless to play imo. They use to have a rank based matchmaking system that rewards you for playing the game. Now it's pretty much pointless to play survivor unless you SWF or you're just a god at the game.

  • If a solo survivor can get to rank 1 I'm sure a killer that chooses not to tunnel can also get to rank 1.

  • Yes, like you said on the primary console the DLC survivor/killers should be available.

The only argument AGAINST Eruption is "Incapacitation is boring so get rid of it".

That's just not true and I'm kinda of sick of talking about it but.... There's no reliable counterplay to Eruption for solo players. If you can not see the chase you don't know when to get off the gen. If you choose not to work on the gen at all or leave that gen (if possible) the perk still gets value.

  • Yeah I've noticed I've been going against a lot of Artists lately. I also find it extremely boring. They just slug me to counter my super fun boil over build and try and snipe my team when they pick me up.

    Then it was merciless storm

Then it was dead man switch plus pain Resonance in a weaker Version

And now it's the kick gen perks but mostly Eruption

Stop crying about any perk that get's used a bit more often because it's the strongest right now

Same for killers who cry about every survivor perk that is meta

Sounds like you're ranting and not offering any valid argument on why Eruption is fine. That's cool because I couldn't think of any either.

  • Rancor is a pretty stupid tbh. I find extremely funny when I get value out it as killer for the same reason I find it complete bullshit if I fall victim to it as survivor. I had a match the other day against a Wesker that got 0 hooks all game and downed and insta-killed a Feng right next to the open exit gate. I think most people don't really care about it because hardly anyone uses it.

I dont think that this can be fixed. You will encounter players who have high Ping, because there are not that many Servers. So some players will have to connect to a Server further away, which results in high Ping.

Aah yes ofcourse, good manners is obviously only something you have for people you know. Doesn't matter if they are randoms right. If it's not a person that you can lose they don't count as people.

Calling people "the scummiest people on earth" with that mindset is something else

Yes that's exactly what I meant, everyone that is not my friend is not a real person lol. I just feel when you play with your friends you want everyone to have fun. When you play an online game solo you're usually playing so you have fun and really don't prioritize random peoples fun over yours. I just thought it was a bad example.

My other point was that there are a lot of toxic people in online games not that all people online are awful.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 8
