Yeah I understand that it SHOULD just be based on mmr. But after rank reset the games seem even more all over the place.

She was running noed... so yeah she was bad

How do I kill as a survivor? I want to do that.

Nope. You may find very few that are disappointed and share your POV. Camping can't and should not be -heavily- punished. Because there are times where it's neccesary. There is literally no way to tell when it's neccesary or not. Hence you can't punish it heavily.
Actually there literally is. For example see when they disabled DS.

I hadn't played swf in a while because my headset broke and I got used to not having to talk in solo q. Just ordered a new headset...

Did you know that every other killer can also hear survivors? Also did you know that survivors can also hear Spirit? If you didn’t know, I’m glad to inform you of it. If you did know, what on earth was the point you were trying to make there?
Did you know the spirit can move much much faster than the survivors? If the survivors could move much much faster than spirit I would say spirit would be in trouble if the survivors could hear her coming!

A little hint for you. There are more than a few people playing the game. And they might disagree on what they want you to do.

Cool so when you see 3 random teammates with no mither you'd be happy with that right?

it is kind of an ok perk if the person knows what they're doing and has some dope saboteur build
If the person knows how to not have an extra health state? Fine if they are pro they can do as good as someone else that has full health. But for 99% of people they are going to do significantly worse and their chases will not last long. So yeah it's a throw pick. Would you want a team with 3 no mither players on it?

the 100% is fine but why does it need to deactivate when someone dies? That’s like punishing you for doing your job.
I don't understand this "punish people for doing their job" thing. Ruin with 1 person dead was an automatic win. No perk should be an auto win in that general of a situation. This isn't rocket science people. And no your perk being in a hard to find place isn't "outplaying" anyone.

God what is with the needless complaining? It's like if I start complaining about dead hard right now, despite it being nerfed in like a couple of days. People just LOOOOOVE complaining I guess.
If you could read you would figure it out. I'm not even complaining that it's necessarily strong. I'm complaining that it's so brokenly strong it makes the games stupid boring before it pops because the killers are trash and cant do anything until they have noed.

I keep my own stats and track NOED. This comes from 1030 games played:
NOED shows up in 13.7% of matches, including all matches in which killers equip NOED as a perk even if the match does not reach endgame or NOED is cleansed before a survivor is hit with it. Killers that do not run NOED had a kill rate of 53.0%, NOED killers had a kill rate of 51.4%. As far as game outcomes, here is the spread of killers with NOED vs Killers without
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/D5M89QJVTRW9/noed-png.png
NOED gives killers less 0k & 1ks, but they also have less 3ks, and significantly less 4ks (a difference of almost 5%). After seeming my results, I feel like the sentiment that NOEDs a bad perk if you a trying to win, but a great perk if all you want to do is secure an extra kill that you otherwise would not have gotten.
Of course with mmr at the end of the game they would have the same amount of kills. The issue as I specifically stated is BEFORE the last gen pops a noed user can do nothing. I have kept stats and a noed user gets around .2 kills a game before the last gen pops vs a non noed user having 1.7 kills a game before the last gen pops. That is a huge difference. Noed makes the game turn into "do nothing until last gen pops".

Could say that about a lot of things.
That's actually the whole point, you cant. There isn't a single other perk in the game where if you took it away they wouldnt ever be able to win until massively lowering their mmr. Every single noed user at my mmr gets 3 or less hooks before the last gen pops. It would be an easy 4 escape EXCEPT FOR NOED. It's very obvious when they have it because they can't do literally anything until noed pops. Yes I run dh like every other high end mmr player. If you take that away am I never escaping? Of course not I can escape without DH, it definitely helps but I'm not crippled without it. If you take away ruin on my killer will I always lose? Of course not.
-
You realize how long it would take for a single survivor to find all 5 dull totems? And once again if you are in solo q then maybe 2 people are searching for all 5 dulls, you dont even know what dulls have been done by other teammates? If you are cleansing all 5 dull totems you must be at some trash mmr so that's why you dont see noed. No noed killer would be at that low of an mmr.
-
@Bran said:
Noed is fine where it is. The change coming to it is like the change to thrill, garbage.
Then again, many do the perk changes are probably not that good. (Corrupt Intervention)
Yes a perk that can carry a really bad killer up to an mmr where they clearly dont belong is "fine".
-
@M4dBoOmr said:
Basicly it's the same with DH DS, people using those are mostly bad. I doubt most can even play properly without meta perks giving them constant second chances.
There will be a lot of tears when they change it 😂
Here's the difference. Can you spot a DS/DH user? Can you say "oh this survivor doesn't know how to loop, doesnt know how to do anything, they must clearly be using DH/DS to carry them". No, exactly. I don't even run DS because it's not that often it'll proc. If someone told me I couldn't run DH then I wouldn't be crippled and lose every game. If you took away noed from a noed player they'd never even get more than 1k and rarely even 1k until their mmr dropped a ton.
-
@fulltonon said:
I think dev said NOED user tend to have lower kill rate or something?
This makes sense they have a low kill rate because they get boosted up to a higher mmr than they should be. The issue is that they cannot do anything until noed kicks in which leads to an extremely boring game.
-
@XerraFox said:
If you already know they have NOED - cleanse totems
Yeah easy fix. Don't worry about fixing the broken perk that makes it so awful killers can get to high mmr. Just cleanse every dull totem! I want to see a video of you cleansing every dull totem on midwich and see how long that takes. I'm sure it's super fast and not an issue at all.
-
Yeah I can't wait for solo q players to lose almost all of their games. That's going to definitely help things.

@Maperson said:
We just have to wait and see. On the paper Bubba sounds like one of the most broken killers ever, but we all know that's not really the case.
How do the changes affect him that much? Most of the time he's using his chainsaw.

Hiding in a locker all game would be too strong. So can you do that? No because they added an in game mechanic to make it a bad idea. Should do the same for tunneling and camping, this isn't complicated.
-
@legacycolt said:
After the newest changes, nurse should get a good nerf or even better a rework.
One fair nerf is nerfing the way she can teleport through floors. There's a reason why she obliterates anyone on midwich. Out of all the ways she breaks the game that is the biggest one.

They changed DS because it created an unwinnable scenario for killers during end game. You down someone right before they crawl out the gate but they have DS so you can't touch them and they get a free escape.
If that was true they wouldn't have reduced the stun timer and just disabled ds during endgame. They made ds unusable to make tunneling easier.
-
This is exactly why mmr should work based off number of players escape instead of just if you escape. If I run a killer and the 3rd gen pops my first thought is "I'm getting camped".

its just super classic, starstruck nurses running around left and right, im a god gamer im a god gamer. egotistical, massive attitude. and they're just everywhere now.
win so many matches and expect to run into constant nurse mains bming and flinging their toxic playstyle all over the map with impossible outplay, walls, doesnt matter, pallets, useless. flashlight who cares.
soloq is already hell the perk update will make soloq even worse, and nurse isnt changed at all, i love it.
idc what anyone says nurse is a literal SSS tier killer rn and is unbearable to play against. the minute i hear that screech im out.
See you on the other side.
My problem with nurse is she's strong and boring to play against. I hate legion just as much because he's also boring. Spirit/Huntress/Blight are good but they are fun to play against and try to play around.
-
New dead hard is still very good and in many cases better. I'm pretty surprised they didn't nerf it harder after what they did to spine chill/iron will/self care. Not sure what they are going to think when dh is just as meta, but if it stays as it it's good for survivors to have a tool against the new super buffed killers.
-
This is so easy to fix I don't understand why people make this so complicated with weird suggestions like swf q which dont make any sense. Why is DBD so busted with comms when other games arent? ITS THE INFORMATION. Other games actually give you as much information as possible as they can to make it close to having comms. In dbd it's the opposite. They don't give you anything. So when you have comms you get a ton more info and the game is way easier.

I actually never thought about Fearmonger countering Kindred. Interesting.
Unless the team is running a swf so then their "kindred" works just fine. Another great gap between solo q and swf.

Yeah everyone saying that it's a crap perk either dont run dead hard or never work on a gen injured. So either way low mmr players.

Pretty much this, also if the perks the Killer is using dont make any sense and you cant pinpoint all of them the 4º is NOED almost always, like Wraith with Agitation, Overcharge and some random Hex which wasnt Ruin, does the build make any sense to you? neither to me so lets slap NOED there for some good ol' carrying when the fifth gen gets finished.
Also there's a reason why you will literally never see noed at low mmrs. It's almost impossible to be at a low mmr with noed. You just use noed and poof you an "average" killer. Thank goodness it's getting a minor worthless nerf.
-
I had the same complaint recently. Did mmr break in the last few days? I'm getting brand new killers sometimes.
-
@IronKnight55 said:
Yep, it's usually pretty easy to know when a killer has noed.
I just had 2/3 games where the killer had noed. First game the killer got 2 hooks and 2nd game killer had 1 hook before last gen popped. I don't mind overpowered perks but noed is so strong you can actually tell people have it because of how bad they are at the game but still at your mmr. It's clearly broken. I know a killer has noed because they don't know how to do any things that take any skill like mind games at pallets. They just hold W until the last gen pops and get their free kills.
-
@dspaceman20 said:
Usually I can tell they have noed if they miss their swings a lot
Noed carries so hard you can tell when someone is running it by how bad they are. Pretty funny how obvious it is. Don't need to learn how to play killer to get 1-2 kills with noed.

There you go.
(Devs have set a tentative date for end of 2022 as to when they're implementing bot matches)
Ok once again if you could read I said I know these things exist (yeah I didn't mention map) but why do I need to bring 2 perks and 1 item just to barely learn where the totems are? If you can't read it would be good to probably try not to respond to comments.

story of my life... or you're hooked and see their auras and you see how they're hiding in a corner of the map, doing nothing...
I started running kindred and just made me hate the game. I had to turn it off because it triggered me so much seeing how often teammates are just hiding or doing nothing.
-
So spine chill still wont work when a killer is in stealth?
-
You need to get to a higher mmr because no nurse is going to be low mmr unless they are just learning.
-
@IronKnight55 said:
It really is crazy. A lot of survivors will quit if these changes go live. I really hope they make some changes...
Solo q at low mmrs, it's going to be a massacre. Enjoy having all your teammates hide and do 45 second self heals.

@Ghouled_Mojo said:
Usually when I’m on a losing streak like that, it’s due to my own skill level vs different scenarios like map, other survivor’s objective/prerogative, and just plain ######### luck.
Yeah I know when I lose and it's my fault, I'm not one of those people that always blames their team. But like this last game, person gets instantly hooked, they try to kill themself but they kobe off. Get hooked again and picked up by teammate. Then I run the killer for 3 gens. Without another single hook. Then I get killed by piggie because I have a hat and she's tunneling me (probably because I ran her for 3 gens?). Either way tired of basically being forced to play swf to survive at 50%
-
Uh that's actually exactly how you tell who's weak and strong? lol
-
I forgot to mention the biggest issue with solo q. The people throwing after they get downed instantly. I'm done with this. Playing hatch blendette and basement bubba now.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
too late, once the tourneys and money started, it will never stop.
It's not the tourneys it's the players. If the players never got sweaty and played swfs all the time, then they could treat it like a casual game. That's not how the players treat it though.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I dont think that the escape rate is that different. From what I remember, they once said that the escape rates as SWF are higher, but not by that much. So 50% compared to 80% is too much.
However, they dont really care about SoloQ and their latest Dev-Update shows it. I am surprised that they did not nerf Kindred as well, because they claim they know why some Perks are used, but this does not really reflect in their decisions.
SoloQ will be more frustrating and I am at the point where I think that anything below a 4 man-SWF is not really worth to play as Survivor. I can just imagine how frustrating it will be that a Gen was kicked with Overcharged and you have no way to tell others to stop it regressing...
Are you actually talking during your swfs? I kept track of my stats but my squad does a lot of communication. We coordinate where to look for totems, what direction the killer is going etc. It's pretty hard to get 4ked while gen rushing with comms unless the killer is getting insta downs.
-
@DBD78 said:
Us solos should always see the other survivors aura when someone is hooked. Other than that I don't think we should get more info. The game is only hard for solos in low ranks and this change would make things better for them also.
So at high ranks swfs don't have an advantage over solo q? At high ranks knowing where the killer is at all times and coordinating perks etc isn't an advantage? Man you should play in a tournament without comms since they don't help.
-

Considering that at least 50% of survivors switch back and forth from SWF to solo it can be a problem. Half of the player base will have rating that doesn't reflect their real skill. Even one survivor potato can screw up the game for other survivors. But that being said I still think that a team-based MMR is worth a try, it solves some other problems that an individual MMR can't. If it will be better for DBD considering it's asymmetric nature and the fact that in DBD you profit more from SWF than in most other games, we can only find out if we try it.
This already happens. If you currently play in a swf you will survive more and your mmr goes up so whats the problem again?
