Good job you are running a build where you are rewarded for teammates dying. What a great accomplishment. Look at it this way, if 4 copies of you were on the same team running this build, your escape rate would much much lower.

1). Let us see each other perks in lobby. If I'm running inner strength and see someone running a boon build for example, I'll just trade inner strength for something else and vice versa. If I'm running quad boon build and see someone has a totem hunter load out, I would want to switch to a different build. "But it would lead to lobby dodging!" Who cares? People do that now.
2). Status Icons. Let me see what my teammates are doing.
3). Ping system. People say we need voice chat, but I think a ping system would work for this game better.
These are exactly the things I said too. These 3 things then you fix matchmaking then the game is set.
-
The biggest one that isn't mentioned that much... FIX THE MATCHMAKING MMR SYSTEM. There are so many games where the skill of survivors are all over the place. If you have one baby survivor on your team you are done. Any decent killer will know when someone is bad 10 seconds into the chase, the killer will tunnel them out. If a survivor can't run the killer for more than 30 seconds they are in the wrong mmr game.
-
Used up two perk slots and is comparing that to getting info for free. 5head

@Mooks said:
What exactly are you even talking about? Balance changes that make it harder for you? Or bugs that literally prevent you from playing?
Probably the third of games where a survivor quits or kills themselves.
-
The worst part of the stats is they ignore dcs. As a survivor if your teammate dcs and you get wrecked, you arent thinking "well someone dc'ed so getting completely destroyed doesnt count!"
-
It's hard to pull off, stop being such babies. And if you are going to say "no it's so easy", you almost rarely see it in games, so if it's so easy everyone would be doing it.
-
Meyers is so boring too. Great he's looking at me I'll run away. Great he's t3 and I'm dead. So much fun.
-
I think the reason they don't show everyones mmr (like every other game) is because it'd expose how awful the matchmaking is. You will see baby survivors/killers mixed with pros in the same game. I saw a survivor run through a jungle gym and have no idea how to use the vault or pallet and just go down. It's a big mess that not enough people are talking about. The update would be fine if I could just get other survivors that don't get hit within the first 15 seconds of every game.
-
You can win? Really? It's not a 0 percent chance of winning? Golly thanks I bet nobody knew that!
-
@ImNotBobDylan said:
Oh yeah someone whose entire history is only about killer buffs and complaining about old Dead Hard, makes a topic to explain the world that it is now a fantastic & balanced perk
OP, would you mind recording some of your own survivor gameplay and show us your skills with this fantastic perk? I would particularly like you to demonstrate these "mindgames / precise timing" you're talking about, specifically against Legion, VPN players etc.
Not sure about all the sarcasm here. I am a survivor main and new dead hard is great, just think it should stack on endurance. Against legion I simply don't heal so they usually dont m2 me.
-
5 seconds isn't even enough to make it all the way up the stairs of the basement. It's funny how many people kept saying "you can make it to a tile in 5 seconds!" So many people comment that dont even seem like they play the game.
-
@AnchorTea said:
It should not cover the entire basement expedition.
The entire basement expedition? It's some stairs and a small room lol. Let me guess, killer main right?
-
Devs dont seem to care that solo q is a disaster. There's minimal punishment for dc and no punishment for instantly dying on hook. Never seen a game where almost 1/3 of your games are lost within 1 minute.
-
@BlackRabies said:
Only change I can see would that the perk would be disabled after all 5 gens are completed since the killer at that point didn't have much choice but to camp.
"DS is too strong because it ensures an escape in endgame in some situations"
"Lets let killers camp and guarantee kills at endgame"
-
"devs are survivor sided" - right after an update where all the good survivor perks were nerfed to become useless, they made tunneling much easier, gens slower, made killers faster in chase, playing solo q is now suicide. but yes definitely survivor sided
-
Imagine someone caring more about bloodpoints than having fun and playing the game normally.

@Nathan13 said:
Survivors need to have patience, if you’re on death hook sure i’ll heal you but if I have a gen almost popped please give me 2 seconds.
This is an obvious difference between lower mmr and higher mmr. Low mmr players want the heal first, high mmr players finish gens first (unless they are on death hook).
-
A lot of times I'd rather have my teammate just working on gens than running around setting up boons. It's situational, if it was nerfed it would be useless like self care.

Nemesis.
Giving survivors free health states....on repeat. Is pretty bad. Even with the anti loop capability, you have to cut through several survivors worth of health states to make it actually have an impact. By the time you've cut through all those health states, shy of camping, the game is over.
If you think nemesis is weak just because it takes a 3rd hit to get down from tentacle you must be at some low mmr
-
They could just show mmr LIKE EVERY OTHER SINGLE GAME WITH MMR
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
Just fix SBMM. Make it count the Survivors as a team, not as individuals. Would fix most problems people have with SoloQ
I used to think this was why I had bad teammates, some people just play for themselves etc. But then I got a bad ttv on my team so I decided to watch a vod and see how they did. They were terrible and they rarely escaped. They almost never dropped a single pallet or vaulted a single window so their chases were usually about 30 seconds or even less (aka how long it would take to just run in a straight line and get caught by an m1 killer). Outside of chases they barely did much on gens too. Sometimes you just get awful teammtes.
And before you say "oh you must be at low mmr" I get tons of really good killers/survivors (nurses with thousands of hours that I can juice) and am definitely a much better than average player (although not top top tier). So the matchmaking is just random and I bet that's why they don't even show mmr. They don't show mmr because you would see how random the matchmaking is.
-
They need a suicide bot option. Basically instead of killing yourself on hook, you leave the game and your body gets replaced with a bot that just sits on hook. Your teammates are notified of this. So at least there is some value if the killer is camping the body etc and you don't just insta lose.

Please share! Stories are great!
im currently in a match against a legion where none of my teammates seem to know they need to mend. I just watched a David go down while working on a gen because they didn’t mend… as well as the other teammates. What. Is. Happening.
You must be at some low low mmr. At least get to the mmr where people self care against legion.

@GentlemanFridge said:
If they’re not a confident looper, healing them is in your best interest. If they last any longer than 16 seconds in the next chase, it has been worth your while.
It's actually 32 seconds. It keeps 2 people busy for 16 seconds. A lot of people who aren't confident confident loops will definitely not last 32 seconds in chase after that first hit so you really aren't getting value on a bad player. But bad players will also just hide and do nothing when injured so you are going to lose either way.

at this point, it's just the queue.
i swear the match maker is completely random.
I can't repeat this enough. I have no idea how many times I've seen baby survivors on my teams, or even as a killer see an insanely good player matched with awful players. It's so random and annoying it ruins the games. You can't carry in dbd so if there are bad players on the team it ruins the game.

@ThundahBolt said:
I don't get why this community would rather nerf Killers instead of learning and getting better against Killer's mechanics. The only Killer I agree with that needs a nerf/rework is Nurse as, unless the player is bad, she can completely negate the interaction between Killer and Survivor which is OP.
The problem is the extra mechanic doesn't scale properly. Kind of like how ruin is ok with 4 people but with 3 people it becomes overbearing. The box is the same way. When you have 4 people up it's fine, but if you have 3 people it's too much to try and do gens, run the killer and go after the box all the time.

You know,tunneling can be mitigated if you run OTR right?
So if you're being chased that hard,then that's a lot of time down the Drain for killers.
Yeah what's more work tunneling the same survivor out or swapping targets. I love how people try to talk like tunneling is this big risk.
-
People do it because it's a good way to win. It's the devs job to fix cheap ways to play the game. Imagine if crows didn't exist, you could just hide in a locker all game. They need to add a fix for tunneling (and yes there are many).

"I'm a Killer main" no your not
I'm a survivor main, I'm awful at killer. And I destroy survivors. It's almost impossible that I get less than a 2k. I do use noed (which supposedly isn't a problem right?!) and chase perks. But once again I'm terrible at killer and still get easy 3/4ks which would obviously be raising my mmr.
-
Boring killers are ones where you don't do that much looping. So that would be meyers, legion, hag.
-
Yes and q times were instant before the awful update and people weren't DCing and killing themselves on hook as much. So yeah I wonder what changed.
-
Survivor is fine if you get matched with equally skilled players. I sometimes will leave if someone has 0 prestige levels. I decided I'd trust matchmaking and stayed in a lobby where someone had 0 prestige. They were getting instantly downed by t2 meyers. They would run through jungle gyms without using the pallet. We basically had to 3 man the game and we still got 2 people out. I have no idea why matchmaking in this game is so bad but somehow you can get really new players with really good people and it's stupid.
-
Killers complaining about gen speeds right now lol. Can't tell if this is bait.

Cant tell if this is trolling or not

The scenario you described is a design flaw, and I'd advise killers with a bone to pick against such strats spend their time and effort fighting for change with BHVR, rather then settling their score against random survivors in future games.
...because i'm tired of getting roflstomped as a solo surv because killers are camping and tunneling first hook at 5 gens.
4 games today this happened, and in all 4 the surv on first hook had kindred. The info provided wasn't enough to help anyone escape in those 4 games.
There are no current tools to prevent tunneling. The main thing DS had was that it stacked on everything else. If you took a bt hit, DS would still give you another hit. But now DS is completely worthless so you basically just have 1 hit right off hook. Then the killer can focus you down again and get the free win.
-
@AliceNull said:
You are not supposed to go for solo unhooks when the killer is right there, period. This change means that any healthy survivor with deadhard can solo bomb a hook at any time against a killer without a very fast down/instadown, and get the rescue without the killer being able to recover any pressure.
Camaraderie needs a UI change to notify other survivors when someone is running it.
There are plenty of times you have to unhook with the killer right there. Please raise mmr before commenting.
-
She has on demand stealth, a teleport and she's short which is a huge advantage in chase. She's fine unless you are a baby killer that doesn't know how to do anything other than walk forward.

Since the patch has changed a lot of the meta it has forced people to change their builds thus change their playstyles.
That can mean they get better or worst FAST. Think of how when sbmm was put in and you had new players going against veterans. The mmr is trying to rebalance itself.
Some players are also coming back to the game for the resident evil dlc so they are causing a stir.
It was awful before the update too

I think I might try doing something like this in swf, so we can compare relative power levels of solo and swf with the power statistics
In solo q I'm usually around 40-45% escape. WIth a good swf I escape about 75% of the time and this is considering in solo q I will just try to escape but in a swf I will trade my life for someone else's etc. I'm at above average mmr (play against killers with thousands of hours etc)
-
If you think this game is anywhere near survivor sided right now you are just lying. You are basically saying if some killer mains say the game is survivor sided then it's balanced. Think about that logic for a second.
-
The main issue is BHVR doesn't count games where someone dcs. All those games are when things are going poorly and probably going to be a 4k anyways and it sure isn't fun when a teammate dcs and you get killed. But BHVR thinks that game just doesn't count. Well as the other survivor that got left behind it definitely counts for bad the experience is.

@Vetrathene said:
So just base don the number of threads and discussions about it, most of us will agree that soloQ is very rough right now. While not every game is a mess, and overall I agree KIllers have been needing some major buffs for awhile, it has left many people behind. And i think the answer is simple: survivor communication needs to be added to this game. A ping system at the very least, and a voice communication at best. I think the ping system is a fine compromise, it would at least provide some way of coordinating with your team, but tone down the toxicity that could come over voice.
Fix matchmaking. Right now the skill of players is all over the place. I'll have teammates that are constantly insta going down to a killer then it turns out I can run the killer for 2 minutes and they are kind of a baby killer. I don't know how this happens all the time but I got to the point where I would spam lockers and always try to get first chase. In dbd you can't carry. If there are people at a much lower mmr they are going to drag the team down and you can't win. Simply make people of same skill in the same game and the game is much healthier.

Yeah yeah I know it was OP, and this is not a "bring back old DH" thread at all. But you could do some crazy DH plays, and it felt fun to do. Now all other exhaustion perks are pretty boring gameplay. Press a button you run fast, vault and run fast, get hit and run fast longer, land on your feet and be fast..fun? Not really.
So my point here is we need more perks that is fun to use as survivor, that stands out like DH did and creates some variation in gameplay, without being OP. I hope devs can be a little creative and give us somthing fun that could stay as it is.
I have a suggestion for you. Try... DH
-
That was their goal for the rework. Make useful survivor perks useless.

Cleansing is fine as long as you are smart about it. Cleanse somewhere where plague has to go out of her way to get to a fountain.
If the whole team over cleanses enough you can force the plague to have her power and reset all the fountains
Yeah who is going to be smart about it in solo q? You have no idea where your teammate cleansed, if 1 person does it everyone is going to do it. If you are in solo q you don't cleanse vs plague until end of game.

How did this get past the PTB?
How is this still not buffed yet? You literally can't get out of basement with the 5 seconds it gives you.
According to people on here 5 seconds with minor haste is enough to make it to any tile in the game.
-
You are counting all the times DH used to save someone and not counting all the times a different exhaustion perk now saved someone so yeah logic is completely off.

My killer queues are less than a minute in the mornings, and instant in the evenings, just like before the "killer sided patch". Looks like survivors realized that 10 secs added to gens isn't that big of a deal after all, and dbd hasn't suddenly become killer sided over night (never will be and never should be). So they returned or switched back to survivor.
Kill rates have been over 50% before and I 100% am sure it's over 50% right now. So yes please tell me how it's never killer sided.

MMR just don't work
It works for every other game. Just in dbd for some reason they put low skilled people with high skilled people. Not sure why they can't just match up people with similar mmr.
