Don't run team aura perks as solo q player. It's depressing watching someone self care in the corner for a full minute.
-
Everyone who says DH is the reason why the game is different is just slow. Fine if you think that they should revert every change except the DH change and we'll see how the games are.
-
It's almost like playing survivor is trash now and nobody wants to do it. What a shocker when you nerf all the survivor perks, barely nerf killer perks and give them tons of good stuff base kit.
-
Don't forget people getting tunneled out in half the games. Gens are so slow tunneling is a guaranteed win. Killers are taking advantage of that.

I can agree that the basekit BT is a joke and as a killer main I was like really 5 seconds. I thought it would definitely get buffed after the ptb. I've only seen basekit BT active once and that was because I some how swung through the unhooker and hit the person behind them getting unhooked.
People are still trying to argue 5 seconds is a lot. I don't think people that say that even play the game.
-
You use... wait for it... BBQ. It's almost like BBQ is an insanely strong perk on its own for any killer with movement. The fact that BBQ got no nerf and noed got a minor nerf show how stupid this update is.
-
Half of my games the killers are camping and tunneling too. Good thing we have a 5 second BT it's really helping!

"a lot of gen slowdown perks were nerfed"
Ruin was deleted
Pop goes the Weasel got deleted
overcharge is still not good
corrupt is literally the same as before
tinkerer got nerfed but is still really good on high mobility characters
pain resonance is unchanged regression wise
eruption got hyperbuffed
jolt got buffed
gift of pain got buffed
thana got buffed
2 meta slowdowns got deleted, overcharge was good only on the ptb; all the other perks are either unchanged or buffed. not buffing or nerfing a perk is also a buff since gen times have gone up.
4 slowdowns is still the meta, because it is now way better than before.
meta for killers is completely unchanged, they just take pop 2.0 and ruin 2.0 instead of the old ones.
before killers were forced to run slowdowns, now killers run slowdowns because they are the best options. The longer a match lasts the easier it is for killers to win since less pallets, less hook states before a survivor dies, less item charges, less time against certain killers before they hit their next power spike (stuff like shape or nemesis).
Excuse me pop got deleted? Lol ok yeah someone is exaggerating a bit. All the survivor perks got deleted. Pop and even ruin did not get deleted. If ruin is up you still need to find it.

Healing/rescuing is a catch up mechanic.
So if someone is dead and there are 4 gens left you can heal and rescue to catch up? Do you even play the game or just go on the forums?
-
Yeah I'm about to just play killer. This is getting ridiculous. Being chased off 99ed gens and have them kicked down to 0 is just stupid. It's pretty hard to see an exit gate powered in solo q and swf you have to basically just kick anyone that cant loop.
-
I think they don't show mmr because it's so broken.
-
I called this would happen. The 7% percent speed boost is worthless. They should have just given the existing BT and have the BT perk still add 10 seconds on top. Giving you 5 seconds for free if anything hurts because the killers rarely have to worry about full BT.
-
@InvadeGames said:
why are your team mates unhooking in the killers face?
Not sure if you play the game but as I said in the title, there's this thing called camping. That is where the killer stays near the hook and you have no choice to either let them die or try and trade. Or killers even get a loud notification so if they are anywhere even remotely close to the hook they can just come back. And if they keep going after the same person and getting them out of the game early it's an easy win. That's what is known as tunneling.

But the basis for MMR currently is "escape = increase, die = decrease", and the nature of the game is such that your team can get you killed regardless of your personal skill. MMR's standards for judging skill are already flawed because of this.
Thus, it's laughably easy to get stuck in "low MMR hell", as I've seen people call it.
(Not to mention people who "play bad" intentionally due to meme-ing, or just being casual, "drunk by daylight" players, etc lol)
This this this. In a normal game you can carry at low elos. In dbd it's impossible. If your teammate gets chased first and dcs you are going to lose. If you get chased first and your teammates dont do gens you are going to lose. Dbd is a rare mmr game where it's insanely hard to carry so your mmr is a lot more based on luck. Added on to the fact that mmr is based off solo survival instead of team survival meaning lots of players just try and survive and screw everyone else.

Could we, I don't know, let people get used to the new mechanics, times, changed perks, etc. Before we conclude that nothing changed?
Patch hasn't been out for 24 hours. Most people didn't change their loadouts. Give it some time.
How do you "get used to" 5 seconds? 5 seconds is 5 seconds lol. How about we make it 1 second and maybe you can get used to it?

well I already changed the number since did the math wrong but its just in terms of time with the endurance status effect * how far you could move, and yes I get the mentality of getting someone out of the game sooner all im saying is that the basekit effect still has some value
For someone so mathy, pulling out the "some value" line is pretty vague. Does it have "some value" of course. Is it much value? No. The only thing survivors were supposed to get from this update is reduced tunneling and camping and that didn't happen at all.
-
@Gorgonia said:
Bjorknas doesn't clearly play this game anymore... tunneling and camping is even worse, because it's easier now for killer to double hit you.
He's so happy he could do a little math problem and say "21 meters omg!!!"

@bjorksnas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3072838#Comment_3072838
then they use the tile and buy time?
I seriously wonder if people like you even play the game or just comment on these boards. You telling me in your games now tunneling is just no longer a problem because of a 5 second bt with a little haste? You really must not have played more than 2 games since update.
-
@bjorksnas said:
5 seconds with 107% speed is enough to reach anything within 21.4 meters, and if you really need more time have them use bt for 64.2 meters, or if you really need more time bring off the record for 161.4 meters
Yeah try playing the game. It's still easy to camp and tunnel. Yes I did it myself as killer just to try it out. It's not hard at all. Sweet they maybe make it to a tile then what.
-
@Veinslay said:
New players already die easily to killers it's not like that's changed at all in the new update
Would you take a 10% paycut at your job? You are still getting paid so it's not like anything changed right?
-
Meta indirectly means the best build and it will help you perform better than non meta. Typically people running meta builds will be better players. This is not very complicated.
-
It's to balance out matchmaking. Since nobody wants to play survivor right now they are giving survivors a bonus.
-
@Exxodus21 said:
Been playing solo all day. It's literally the same unless you relied to heavily on the meta.
Do the gens literally take the same time? Do you literally not see legion and plague more often? Literally?

I’ve been dominating with pinhead so far. Build is STBFL, Brutal strength, Eruption and call of brine. Chases are very quick and regression from perks plus box makes the game pretty easy
This is not to mention the fact I could run the original pain add on to counter OTR of Dead hard
Why would you need to counter dead hard? Who in their right mind would run dead hard lol
-
@The_Krapper said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/335181/the-new-killer-buff-is-too-much
It's really not, survivors can still win if they actually stick to gens, the problem is casual players make up a good number of the player base and they're gonna quit playing because they were already barely winning the games they managed to escape, the only thing that's about to change is survivor is gonna have a genrush adrenaline meta make a comeback and you'll be seeing people complaining about genrush and probably sprint burst or lithe for the exhaustion side of it, just give it a week and watch the threads start rolling in.
What kind of logic is "it's fine if they can STILL win". Ok great if you played a game and you won 1 percent of the time is that ok? But you can STILL win. Yes of course you can STILL win it's about what your chances of winning are.
-
@BubbleBuster said:
imo what they should ve done is increase gen time and then adjust all % perks so they would add the same time as before onto a gen.
for example increasing gen time by 10% (thana with 2 stacks) before added 8 seconds.
10% now adds 9 seconds and also the % were buffed, doubly buffing perks and making slowdown really annoying.
I thought the slowdown of gens was supposed to lower perk reliance to access slowdown not make it so they just disable finishing a gen.
playing swf might now finally be balanced but soloQ is just absolutely miserable, i wont touch survivor even with the 100% bonus
This is the biggest problem. The 2 worst solo q killers got a huge buff. So now if you are in solo q you are screwed vs legion/plague because everyone heals up. In a swf though you just make sure nobody heals.

But survivors have strong stuff too!/s
I can't believe the top 5 survivor perks got nerfed so hard that you can't even use them and noed gets a minor nerf. What a world. Everyone: "dead hard nerf seem fair, it's a lot worse but it's fair". BHVR: "uhhh we want to make sure nobody uses it, make it . 5 seconds".

Well, there are pros and cons to that. As a survivor, I always clean against the plaq ( cause im solo @ safety first )
Well thank you for helping the plague kill your team faster. What a great player. Luckily my mmr is probably high enough I should never see you in a game.
-
I know this won't see enough people but DO NOT HEAL/CLEANSE VS THESE KILLERS.
-
I kept saying this 5 second base bt was going to suck and was proven right. I should have kept links to all the people saying "durrr you can make it to a tile in 5 seconds".
-
I don't necessarily mind killers being stronger. I do mind legion/plague being completely OP this meta since they are two of the worst solo q killers because nobody knows to not heal against them.
-
@Lx_malice said:
Speaking for myself I took it off my first game.
I don't see the reason for complaining why someone would still use it for aura reading though. Literally incentivizes the killer to leave the hooked survivor and is easily countered. Do survivors like killers running 4 slowdowns or not?
What is so hard about this to understand. First of all, do you really need bbq to leave the hook. Are you saying that if you don't have bbq killers wont ever leave the hook? OK. Then also how about this, you just nerf a really powerful perk you know how EVERY SINGLE META SURVIVOR PERK GOT NERFED TO WHERE YOU WONT EVER USE THEM. Dead hard nerf lasts 1 second? Oh wait that's actually still usable. We'll make it half a second to make sure nobody will use it.

I haven’t seen any but 1 tunnel from a Spirit and she just waited for base BT to wear off longer than she needed to. That ######### doesn’t last long at all. Wasn’t me- saw it happen to a teammate. Sacrificed myself twice to make sure she didn’t get taken out the game early.
I kept saying that 5 seconds is nothing but everyone was saying "durrr 5 seconds you can get a tile". I can't stand how dumb people are sometimes.

Surivors can't seem to figure out how tolive without dead hard and quit mid match annoying but they need to learn
Love seeing people say this. I ran dead hard like everyone else but it would only give me maybe 2 health states tops. I stopped running it when it was announced it was getting nerfed (the first time, after the 2nd one obviously it's worthless). I can loop and I don't need dead hard. What I can't do is force other solo q survivors to sit on a gen for an hour because the killer has thana or stop other solo q players from running self care and spending a minute to heal against a legion.
-
@Slan said:
Yeah, well, luckily for us all, DBD is not only a survivor game, and after playing a survivor-sided game in which a match could last four minutes if all survivors were repairing without minding anything else at all and after struggling a lot, killers finally got some love from the devs. This is balance, genrush can be delayed, giving more time to stop It, and survivors no longer have overpowered tools that encourage a toxic behaviour in the endgame. You are clearly a main survivor who enjoyed having power, but that is not funny for a killer, and a game's aim is to be funny for EVERYONE.
Wow the match could be over in 4 minutes if the killer is afk? No way! I bet the killer could win in 4 minutes too if the survivors were all following chase with a flashlight trying to be stupid too.
-
Legion with thana. Fun fun fun.
-
@Marigoria said:
I have to agree with you. They just added way too many training wheels for killers in this update.
Everyone was complaining about dead hard and it was fairly nerfed. They didnt have to touch on anything else on either side.
It was "fairly" nerfed? All the main survivor perks (dh, spine chill, self care, iron will, ds) got nerfed to the point where they are useless. The killer perks got minor nerfs. Some of the strongest killer perks like bbq didn't get any nerf in terms of gameplay. The most broken perk in the game (noed) got a minor nerf. I know this was meant to be a killer sided patch but this is a bit much. I'm just going to run swfs and carry with prove thyself. Cannot win in solo q.
-
The worst part is having early level blood webs that have nothing good on them. Getting items/addons now is insanely harder.
-
All the top survivor perks got nerfed into uselessness and the most stupid broken perk (noed) gets a small nerf. Makes sense. Also playing against legion with thano... real fun.
-
@PleassBuiltInNoed said:
Simply forgot about it and just kept it, it's a garbage perk after the update
Yeah knowing where people are right after you unhook is so trash lol. It's funny because I see high level killers running it while maxed on bp but all the casuals think it's "worthless".
-
@Seraphor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/335107/i-thought-bbq-was-just-for-the-bloodpoints
You're absolutely right, there's no need to nerf it, because getting the killer away from the hook is a healthy effect that survivors want in the game.
You cannot complain about BBQ, and complain about camping. Pick one.
But no, BBQ alone is not a particularly strong perk without the BP, it's now merely on par with some other aura perks, such as Darkness Revealed or Bitter Murmur.
You can't tell the difference between not camping and giving the killer info on exactly where everyone is? Ok yeah that makes sense.... You can you know, just look for the survivors like the game was designed?
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
It's not the only thing it's good for, don't know where you got that from. It's just that BBQ was also the single most lucrative perk to run, across the entire game.
Yeah but once again all the killer mains said "bbq doesnt need a nerf it's only useful for the bloodpoints!" and here we are and people still running it like I knew they would. BBQ is an insanely strong perk and missed out on the nerf train because it also gave bp.

Is it fun? can you counter her at all?
A good spirit has no counters when you are injured. They can hear everything it's not even a 50/50. It's more like 25/75 guess you will survive at a loop.
-
There are easy fixes but sure. Imagine if there were no crows in the game and I said "hiding can never be fixed, survivors can just hide in same spot forever and is a part of the game".
-
Camping nurse is so op
-
Nice shorter survivor q times.
-
@burt0r said:
Newsflash: That was the devs goal.
The only way to change the meta they know is to break it with a sledgehammer into uselessness.
Yeah the problem with this whole "change the meta" idea is they didn't buff anything else to make something else useful. Killers got minor nerfs to extremely strong perks like bbq and noed. All the best survivor perks are useless now.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
For these who don't know: No One Escapes Death perk will now slowly reveal aura of that Hex totem up to 24 meters over 30 seconds since active.
IMO - I think Its good change but probably not good enough maybe. I would be happy if every Survivor gets Exposed warning when exit gates are powered so everyone knows to: look for the totem, be carefull, don't rush to hooks / bodyblocks.
Thoughts?
NOED is by far the most OP perk in the game and it got a minor nerf that won't even affect many games. GG. And yes when I say it's the most overpowered it is easily. It's so OP you can tell when a killer has it by how awful they are at the game, but they are just at your ranks because of NOED. They get less than 3 hooks before last gen pops? Yeah probably NOED.
-
Nurse doesn't make you scared. It just makes you realize you have a very little chance of winning unless it's a nurse that doesn't know how to play nurse. Then if it's any 2 story indoor map (midwich, the game) you have an extremely small chance of winning since nurse can blink through floors which no other killer can do.
