Very correct. I main a few survivors, Kate being one. Absolutely trash "lore", if you can even call it that. Every other survivor and killer gives detailed insight to what makes them, well, them. Kate got shafted, nothing new, nothing interesting. Just exploring the woods with her music. Just awful to Kate mains. You're not alone OP, and the sad part is she may never get new lore considering this was her lore. Lmao, just pathetic.

Don't play then. I don't mind the graphics, they aren't the best but they certainly aren't the worst. Imo, gameplay comes first. If it's gorgeous but not fun, why play it?
Good luck finding other things, OP. I'll stay here for now. :)

Sorry if this is blunt, but are you talking about his rear? It's literally super flat, just like all his other pants cosmetics. Double-checked it twice to make sure I wasn't missing something. Definitely flat.

None of the survivors bother me.
On the killer side, defintely Hag. By far the most boring killer in the game.
Aw, Hag is my killer main. Show her some love. :( Love Clown too <3

Survivors:
Megs: 98% of them are potatoes. I can deal with "noobs" because they can learn and get better. However some things just can't cure stupidity and that's the primary description of 98% of Megs.
Davids: Most I've encountered are extremely allergic to gens and do nothing but hook swarm often getting my friends and I killed either by farming or forcing the killer to defend their hook
Claudette: Mostly super toxic because of a certain YouTube (the YouTuber is not relevant anymore my their following still lingers) and they are also the survivors to go immersed in a lost game situation
@Megs, couldn't have said it better myself.

As a Feng Min main I actually prefer this. The blood kind of killed it for me, but it's mostly likely just a bug.
Also what do you mean charge? I thought it was a free event item for those that got it.
You could get it for free if you played the 2019 lantern event, but only for two weeks. Otherwise it's been advertised and sold for auric cells on the DbD Store.
-
Sorry, but why does it matter? It's literally a matter of 9 seconds since you're locked in to play at 00:06 anyways. Seems pointless to complain about.
-
Yeah, Jake is Korean. He even got a Korean hanbok outfit on the new rift.
-
Levels really only exist to show you when you earn iridescent shards. Back in the day the game would add it player XP up automatically and give them to you without players being able to manually track it, making them seem random. So levels really don't and won't serve any other purpose.
-
Balanced Landing. Even after the nerf the silent falling + speed burst is just perfect for avoiding killers. SB is nice but too difficult to use on-command. The others are really only useful in chase, which I dislike.
-
Still don't understand the decision not to give out these old reskinned event cosmetics. Because they were "earnable" at the time? And somehow this logic doesn't apply to the ultra-rare event ones given out? All you had to do was play the game at the respective time to get the Lunar and Summer items, just like all you had to do to "earn" the once-exclusive ultra-rare cosmetics at the time was to show up to the respective events irl.
I see the argument that BHVR didn't have to give anything out for these irl events so we should be grateful we got any of the ultra-rares in the first place. Well, they didn't have to give out any Lunar/Summer event items either but they did for simply playing the game. Logic who? π€¨

Yui looks so busted. She looks like a knock-off Feng that's incredibly ugly and tries to edgy (which we already have Nea/Jeff who fill that role better). She has no real personality or emotion in her lore or her screams in-game.
Zarina is the obvious choice.

@Ardjet said:
Not sure what you mean, I think most people use cosmetics in this game - all the time. Maybe you're playing with many new players who don't have any yet?
I usually see around 1/4 players using some sort of store cosmetics. Almost everyone uses the base free ones or the bloody ones. Been playing since '16 and it's always been this way, even after the Store went live in 2.0.

There was a three week gap between levels III and IV in the first Tome as well.
Kind of nice if you ask me. Less stress to burst through all of level 3 since the difficulty of challenges become more tedious.

Thanks. This is the first time I'm doing the archives since I just got back from a long break. So I don't have a clue. Where do I find this info?
It's posted in the in-game news section.

March 9th, as they stated right when Tome II first came out.
Helps to read sometimes. :)

Dead by Daylight is one of the few games I've ever experienced where being an absolute d*ck and promoting toxicity is considered normal due to how the game was designed from the ground up. Because it doesn't involve any actual logged chat or direct cheating, it really isn't seen as an issue to the devs.
Welcome to the community, OP.

Me and a Nea were the last two alive in a match. I was doing gens like crazy, hiding stealthily, doing basically everything we needed to win. The Nea found the hatch and selfishly hid in a closet the entire match.
Killer ended up finding and downing me, I crawled to the closet Nea hid in while the killer followed. He opened the closet, mori'd her in front of me and let me have the hatch. He knew the toxic Nea was being useless hiding and she was swearing and cussing at us in endgame chat. I laughed evilly as karma had its way. π That's right Trapper, kill her, she doesn't deserve to live.
Made a new friend that day too!

I enjoy it as it's one of the only exhaustion perk you can truly use on-command, out of chase. Lithe and Head On always alert the killer (unless you have Q&Q which I dislike because it wastes a perk slot), Dead Hard is only useful in chases as well and Sprint Burst is too difficult to manage to maximize its use.
Balanced Landing is perfect for those moments when you hide out on a ledge, wait for the killer to leave then hop off to quickly save a teammate or do a gen. Even after its nerf I will always use it as my main exhaust.

This will get resolved in due course...not all cosmetics are going to be given out, only if you earned them at the time.
What, so they're being taken away? I literally always wanted Kate's Summer shirt and now its just going to be taken away again? :/
-
The frosty eyes for Plague and Oni as well; although those are hardly cosmetics, more like pasted effects on classic skins.
But yeah, the old exclusives (back in the game since 2016-17 and not new at all) were our "fresh and fun" holiday gifts this year.
-
My bet is next week, the 18th. Events in the game last around 2 weeks long, meaning it would end around January 1st. Even if there isn't an event, that's likely when the winter menu/bloodwebs will return.
-
Haven't seen a single Oni in my 16 games since yesterday. Not one.
I'm purple ranks, btw.

heres my take
no bloodletting and stuff because people paid money for them
no event cosmetics because people took time out their day to play the event to earn the cosmetic (keyword: earn)
I own Bloodletting Dwight, I bought a t-shirt for a friend years ago when the promotion hit. I paid for the t-shirt and received it. That's what I bought. The code was a nice addition.
I honestly don't see the issue with distributing it to others. My $15 t-shirt was well purchased and at this point with all the other ultra-rare exclusives given out I'd hate to rob others of the cosmetic.
I also own most of the event exclusives and wouldn't mind them on the store or handed out. Exclusivity is pointless in a game like DbD in my eyes.
Just my two cents.

They wrote a statement about this.
And honestly, even though I would have really loved to get the Huntress-Mask, for me it is fine. Event Cosmetics are not in risk of being subject of Scam like the Code-Cosmetics and the reason why they would have given out the Event Cosmetics is not existent anymore.
For me its logical to not go for one solution when another, better solution came up.
I agree! :)

There's a section explaining it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/108882/
But the short and sweet version is that we originally did not have a way to identify the people who had earned it, since it wasn't tracked. Since then, we found a way to do so, and so we're going to award them just to the people who had earned them. This way anyone who earned them and lost them due to loss of progress gets the back, which was the entire point of giving them away in the first place.
Thanks Peanits.
Maybe add this to the patch notes in the future? Glad everyone who was robbed of their event cosmetics initially was rewarded in the end.

There's a difference between saying
"We're going to do this"
and
"We promise we're going to do this"
Apparently the DBD community hasn't figured this out, they don't owe you the cosmetics.
No, they don't owe us cosmetics. But to not make an official statement anywhere after saying they'd release them isn't okay either.
I'm more curious as to what happened that entitled to demand them be handed out.
-
@LordGlint said:
Alot of cosmetics are like that really. You might get a good view of them in a lobby, but are you REALLY gonna be noticing the pair of jeans Jane is wearing mid-match, or the particular knife Ghostface is using?
When it comes to cosmetic clothing, yes, I do notice. They actually pop out quite frankly, given how many players don't buy or use the customization in the game. Certain killer weapons are easy to miss, but I do always notice a Huntress' axe, for example.

why the aesthetic of pink is nice in this game
For many, it just symbolizes something rarely seen or to hold more value. If the "ultra-rare" or "artifact" rarity was thrown out to any item without meaning or reason the entire point of a rarity scale would become obsolete. Which is exactly what BHVR will be doing if they keep these items pink.
-
They'll be given out to anyone who owns the game at any point, Chapter 14 onwards. It's like the early holiday cosmetics (2017 and before) or the year 1 anniversary items. Anyone who owns the game will automatically obtain them.
-
I enjoy locker builds lately. Head On, Quick and Quiet, Inner Strength and Lightweight.
But maybe that's just because I play a lot of Dwight. :)

- Balanced Landing
- Adrenaline
- Head On
- Lithe
- Sprint Burst
- Dead Hard

Ooh, I use that 3rd one with her ponytail a lot. Good color combo. Nowadays I used her Memoria one because of all the pretty colors *_*

Hands down my favorite outfits assuming killers are allowed as well!
Ahh, I love that Ghostface! The p3 with classic goes so well.
-
Really is saddening. I had a lot of fun looking for the Halloween flowers last year and I played the ######### out of the Lunar event. I just really loved the aspect of playing to earn cosmetics.
The rift just seems like a cheap cop-out.
-
So it'll be literally just like this year's Withering Blight from now on? π That's really disappointing, events in DbD used to have a lot of flavor and I liked earning stuff.
Better than nothing I guess...
-
Hopefully they will change rarity to common or uncommon. Especially if they are given to anyone by default who owns the game.
Nothing even remotely rare about them anymore. :/
-
I did it all in one game. In fact finished 4 generators with Dark Sense. Still nothing.
-
Thank you for replying Peanits. π€
-
What I don't understand is the devs' logic behind having no more exclusives in the game when there are still a good handful of cosmetics that are unobtainable/exclusive after the change. Plus, any cosmetic in the current rift will become exclusive once it closes and the next opens.
Double standard, much?
