Devs, now that you intentionally changed the variables to check the stats of keys, are you gonna change them or not?
Getting to 1 gen left is not that difficult, you can even sacrifice your teammate. :
It's objective math, factual:
Supposing a survivor is hooked immediately, 3 gens in 80 seconds. Last gen repaired by 3 survivors takes 38,1 seconds (going at 2.1 charges/second).
So the hatch will spawn mathematically always if survivors play well and do gen separated.
I usually run plunders ace in the hole to farm items and i retired it for a bit and im getting better luck getting keys without plunders? Im just like:how tf. For instance i opened 3 chests last game all brown medkits. This game so far i got a red key a rainbow map and a purple medkit.

Sorry, but this is such a dishonest take on what happened with Dowsey's game. He went against EMA who were stream sniping him just so he wouldn't be sat in queue for even longer (after getting over 200 wins with only 1 person escaping). They knew what perks he had, what killer he was bringing and what items / tactics were needed to go against him. Without that I'm fairly certain he would have got a 2k at least. This nonsense dialogue that only spirit and nurse are viable needs to die, and quickly. The highest levels of play aren't even remotely comparable to public lobbies, particularly given that tournaments have all sorts of rules in place to stop killers and survivors bringing in OP items or just slugging everyone off the bat. Balancing around tournament play would be the absolute death of this game.
But nurse and spirit ARE the only counter to high level survivors i mean watch supalf whos one of the best nurses right now scrim with oracle and agony. He needs to 4 man slug or he loses and when asked if he could do the same as say spirit "not even close". Take michael myers or ghostface for instance. No map pressure,No anti loop, their complete m1 killers and big surprise their never played in tourneys. And saying "it shouldn't be balanced around tourneys" is true but what about any killer who has a mmr like dowsey. Otz has 50 wins in a row on all his killers soon. So what happens if mmr works? Hes gonna face tourney teams and pretty much lose because thats just high mmr rn. Any further proof is here:

I disagree. I got my rank 1 killer achiev long before all the recent buffs (over 1 year ago) and had no problem doing it. It did take a lot more thoughtful strategy (and maybe some more powerful add-ons) to beat the teams who were clearly on comms, but IMO that's the way it should be.
It should not be the default condition that killer wins unless the survivors play perfectly and the killer absolutely dominates if they bring any powerful add-ons. But that's what we have now. The survivors have an inherent disadvantage by nature of not being able to communicate, and the only exception to that is when survivors form premade groups and use third-party comms, which I already addressed in my original post. But the solution to that is not to just make killers ridiculously strong, because now people who don't use comms (which is the large majority of players) are at too much of a disadvantage. The game is currently balanced around the exception to the rule, which is survivor teams who use 3rd party comms.
But its not that way at the highest level? Killers lose unless they play nurse and spirit because any other killer either has lack of map pressure or lack of anti loop so you just abuse what they lack. For instance pyramid has anti loop but not map pressure. Feel free to watch any top level matches you won't see any killer except nurse and spirit winning. Mmr actually showed this because it put dowsey whos a amazing twins player against a tournament team. And he got dumpstered.

Myers with 99% T2 ready to go. Is the problem here Bubba or NOED?
The issue with NOED is that survivors believe they won at 5 gens. The end game is to taunt the killer within sprinting distance of an open door. NOED removes this.
Camping Bubbas at a hook? Come up with a better example. I've seen this NOED OP bs since it was infinite duration not a Hex perk state. They bitched when it was on a two minute timer. Nothing will satisfy them untill the insta down part is removed. Then they will come after Devour. Because 3 tokens is too easy to get.
Actually the problem is theres not enough anti camp measures so that survivors can get all the gens done before losing 2 to facecamp then maybe a 3rd to noed but noed definitely makes the situation worse. A bubba should not have enough time to facecamp 2 people to death before all 5 gens get done THEN still hit a 3rd with noed.

You mean a bubba with a built in insta down that can double tap BT and you are complaining about NOED?
Doesnt make my statement wrong though bubbas will do this because they KNOW its impossible for survivors to avoid noed and get all the gens done in time before in some situations looking at the math 2 people actually die by facecamp. Facecamp 2 people then hit the 3rd with noed when the gens are done. Its partially noeds fault because you can avoid the saw far more than a m1. I would know i actually use the build on my bubba when im just bored. 3ks all around. (Red both roles btw)

Statement is true. Doesn't mean survivors are correct.
And the facecamping bubba with noed situation where its mathematically impossible for survivors to get all totems and gens done before a survivor dies by facecamp guaranteeing a 2k for no effort?
-
Noed actually has the undying problem. In some scenarios noed cant be prevented because of killer camping. In other situations if you as a team do your best to find all the totems but with new totem spawns you get 4 now that one totem out in narnia is noed and your screwed. Most people say actually not to cleanse totems right away against noed because if you remember where the totem you saw was you can just hit it later. So the counterplay isnt even always prevent it from activating its to actually let it activate then spend the 12 second cleanse which the killer could still get a instadown in that time. Also strong killers imo will just throw it on to beat you while your down. So many times verses amazing nurses and spirits noed came out because we could barely do the gens and screwed us. Which against these 2 you already barely have enough time to do the gens depending on their strength let alone totems as well. I am a advid detectives hunch user but that doesn't mean i won't say how bs the perk is.

But please tell me that it doesn't apply a stretch.
And yeah, this was minimal. I know some people that play on 1080*1080, or even 500*1080
Still going with this? I thought you were long done lol.

Nurse is a relic of the past and was made back when BNP’s, Infinites and Instaheals were all very powerful. She’s the only killer who can consistently beat the best survivors and doesn’t really have any weaknesses
Yes I hate her how could you tell?
To be fair you kill her and spirit...well survivors win then. Thats the problem most people have is that those 2 are the killers last line to face the top swfs. Kinda why i defend nurse at least she has a high skill cap unlike spirit. So the killers are bringing something in of skill to show they deserve to be where they are.

I’ll agree about the game though that map was an abomination to begin with
Storehouse had the inside pallets removed and the window is a bit stronger
You havent played on groaning since the last patch? One of the pallets is back. The one at the entrance.

Chase music is necessary otherwise tracking would be way easier
Not many loops have been made safer
limited FOV is there so the survivors can do something besides run around pallet or window.
Dead hard and any other exhaustion perk is using a perk slot for an improved chase just like spirit fury, enduring or bamboozle
"Not many loops have been made safer" *looks at groaning storehouse which was already a infinite but now they gave it back the pallet* *and the game maps very existance* idk about that.

That’s fair.
Anyway the red stain is a game mechanic to make chases more fair for survivors and add a new layer of mindgames to make them more interactive
Bloodlust is a band aid fix for bad map design
What blaring out our headphones making the loops in general fairer (some are still infinites) limiting killer pov and giving survivors perks like dead hard isnt enough advantages? Not saying it needs removed but id say survivors have plenty advantages lol.

They forbid the change to the .txt files and you know what then happens?
NVIDIA control panel, this took me a grand total of 8 seconds to do to achieve a stretch of 1080*1080, 3 of which were waiting for the program to open.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NLLDBOON54MS/image.png
So yeah, feel free to lock the .txt file and see how that does literally nothing to stop stretched res. Any more bright ideas?
Honestly 1080x1080 sounds horrid on a normal desktop. In the game obviously it looks great i guess from the pictures ive seen. But holy crap.

Guess forbidding to change txt file (a way to achieve stretched res exploit in the first place) isn't an option
Then they just edit their desktop resolution which is a built in feature and does affect the game.

The community for YEARS has been complaining about toxicity in this game. Adding a chat filter is one of the few things they can do to reduce it.
As far as I know having an option to turn on or off the filter is harder than it seems, as you'd have to manage things showing up for some and not showing for others, so it's just easier to put it on for everyone (which is ok, people should be discouraged to make offensive comments).
Agreed but i cant even say the new characters name because its somehow racist...and cant say killed because...whatever reason.

Do you know how to implement resolution scaling, particularly in dbd? Because I don't, but I'm assuming it's pretty difficult, considering the spaghetti code base. If someone does know and can prove to me that it's easy then I'll eat my words.
Know what isn't going to help? Continually bitching about it over and over when it cannot and will not make it get fixed faster. It's the exact same as matchmaking; making new posts about it won't make a functional, perfect MMR release any sooner.
Also, "games are developed faster"? This makes absolutely zero sense in this context my guy.
So again, some problems are more ✨complex✨ than others.
You got your answer; a developer has confirmed stretched res is an exploit.
There's no reason to continue this discussion if you're going to continue being a petulant child.
Ouch he gonna have to spend a lot on burn ointment

Comparing J flicks to a dumb tech is comparing apples to oranges. J flicks are an unintended consequence using tools beyond what is intended, and dumb techs are ... well, dumb. It's an asymmetrical game, too. The two sides aren't supposed to have an equal amount of tools.
Techs are pretty specific to individual killers. Trapper has the tech where they pretend to set a trap after faking walking into a pallet to prevent a stun and force a pallet drop. Pig has this tech where, if you crouch still behind a rock at a pallet, they'll literally run into you. Spirit as the tech where she stands still. Even pretending to break a pallet to force a survivor away from a loop counts as a tech.
The most obvious reason is that killer powers are pretty much built-in techs. Survivor techs are these nifty little tricks that they can do with their limited basekit, so it's more impressive when they pull it off. Trapper catching survivors in traps is also a nifty little trick that he can do with his basekit, it's just less impressive because that's his entire job.
I wonder if spirits stand still mindgame would be considered a tech or a exploit since her shards are supposed to glow when phasing but skins cover it up. That or its just not considered either.

They can code a turn limitation into Blight.
How can they possibly prevent a player from stretching their screen resolution?
I think ardetha suggested a fix to make it so all resolutions show a fixed amount no matter what resolution your on (this obviously scales based on your native resolution though) games like fortnite lock what it shows for instance to prevent stretch.
But itll always show the same amount. Itd require them making it look the same for all resolutions though whichll take a while (never knowing bhvr)

Besides aren't colorblind modes very existence gonna make it easier to see some things even if you aren't colorblind.
I think there was one that let you see scratch marks through like the weeds on yamamoka that would normally prevent scratch marks appearence. Besides that just making them easier to see in general.

Definitions
"In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, speed or level design etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers."
This is direct from Wikipedia; source.
"An exploit (known as "exploitive activity" by Blizzard) is a method of playing the game in a way not intended by the game developers to gain an advantage over other players."
This is direct from the WOW Wiki; source.
Let's apply both to the J-Flick:
Wikipedia definition
The use of a bug or glitches, game system, hit boxes, speed or level design etc.
It's a bug/glitch, as confirmed here and here by McLean.
"The Blight is not supposed to be able to do 180 [degree] turns. He has a turn restriction in place for a reason." (Second clip)
by a player to their advantage
The J-flick is used by players to gain an in-game advantage.
in a manner not intended by the game's designers.
McLean is, in fact, a game developer, and iirc was the lead developer on The Blight. As confirmed by him, again in those clips, this was unintended. "He has a turn restriction in place for a reason."
wow wiki definition
An exploit...is a method of playing the game in a way not intended by the game developers
Again, the player is playing the game in a method not intended by the developers, again check the clips.
to gain an advantage over other players.
If you can try to prove to me that performing a 180 flick doesn't grant you an in-game advantage over other players, by all means go right ahead. However, considering how it does then best of luck.
Conclusion
By the dictionary (or as close as you can get to a dictionary since both Oxford English, Oxford German, and Merriam Webbster have definitions in terms of exploitative actions and labour, not video games) definition of the word, the J-flick is an exploit. Apply the criteria to stretched-res too, and you'll get the same results.
But, again, please keep pretending it isn't.
The thing is stretched has been confirmed as a exploit multiple times yet its still around 2-3 years after its founding. Kinda why people think its okay to use i guess since "the devs have known about it for years but havent fixed It" j-flicks a few months old but McLean is fixing it right now so.
-
@Friendly_Blendette said:
I think J flicks add a layer of depth to blight and I dont really care about stretched res that much. I think if they juust made stretched possible in the settings so console could do it and so you dont have to go mess around in file it would be fine. Similarly I think if they just make J flicks possible with current sense it would be fine.
Stretched would just be a fov slider but the reason for their not being one the devs have said because they don't want people seeing over loops or mitigating stuff like nurse stun for free. (Fancy that both things that are removed by stretched)

@Devil_hit11 said:
Base regression is the way it is to prevent killers from taking the game hostage in 3 gen situations. Survivors should always be faster at progressing the objective than the killer is at regressing it as long as all of the team is alive.
Killers are suppose to gain pressure by downing survivors quickly. Not by regressing the objective indefinitely. The perks that regress generator by large amount have heavy restrictions such as Pop(11max total hooks) and Hex:ruin being a hex. Maybe they'll release a perk like pop goes weasel that works off hooks with functionality to increase base passive regression speed on the next gen(s) regressed but it should not be default.
far too much chance for holding game hostage otherwise.
Mostly agreed but the gen tap is honestly stupid 2.5 seconds of a kick for something a survivor can undo even in chase by taping m2. For isntance survivors have literally tapped overcharge mid chase before and hit the skillcheck. A survivor should need to be on a gen for half a second to stop regression imo.
-
I havent kicked a gen without say pop for years. Just not worth a 2.5 second kick for something which survivors can undo in 1 tap tbh. Also always run ruin because base regression is ass anyway.

Jeez even on the gens that are like right around corners so all the killer has to do is come in a door and just instantly press to pull ya off? Like i can see as well but gens like that if the killers running aura reading not much i can do.

Bubba is a lot easier to play but I would say billy is still better if played well.
His addons are pretty weak right now but I do still like a lot of them especially his lopro chains.
I wish the overheat mechanic was done a bit differently. I’d say either just increase the amount he can use before overheating or make him lose say 25% of his overheat bar per down
Yeah for billy being the original like immense pressure killer onis just better strap infectious on oni and just get that 4 man slug in some cases. Otz pretty much said all billy needs is a change to his overheat so it doesnt literally overheat from you doing like 3 things (sometimes you can overheat with the engravings doing like 2 actions) and they need to revisit his addons again. Because holy crap if i see that flashlight addon pop up one more time. And definitely some major bug fixes. If they just did the bug fixes i feel hed be in a very better place. Its not even like their afraid to like with nurse fixing her bugs could make her busted.

Yeah but what addons we got in their place...for lack of a better term is #########. Also yeah a billy holding the chainsaw forever obviously was very oppresive but right now you could overheat by just doing normal actions. Down a survivor chainsaw across the map break a pallet. Probably almost overheated. Not to mention the pov nerf. The animations being buggy. His chainsaw sometimes still has the glitch where itll whiff randomly. Like holy crap. Also idk most people liked the idea of just reworking his addons since billy could still be looped through windows around pallets ect. Basically in most cases people agree bubbas taken the mantle. And just generally theres better options than him right now. (Scalped topknot oni or bubba)
