Dh can be deactivated till nerfed because yeah it rewards for free and is boring to face. Ds exists for a good reason.

This is just part of a larger issue. There needs to be a husk left behind or an AI to take over.
Sorry after seeing the video and having had it happen for a while (mainly with bbq) decided to make a thing on it. Citing the video as supporting evidence vs just...my entire case and calling it a day. Explaining on denying valuable pops bbqs and the most famous dc for hatch. I do understand it gets old though. Thanks for your thoughts on the matter though!

I think it's really hard to determine what to do in this situation. You are technically exploiting the knowledge that if they hook you, they get benefited from a perk, but this exploit isn't the same for some reason as other exploits. I would consider DCing to deny a perk exploiting information, but the person who DCs already gets a punishment for doing so. Considering that "strategically" DCing isn't an in-game mechanic, then I guess it's technically an exploit.
The problem with determining if this exploit should be bannable is that you can't really prove their intention for DCing sometimes. In the past, (and probably future) there have been bugs that cause the survivor to DC when getting hooked just because of lagging out or freezing or something like that. You can't prove someone rage quit DCed to deny you a hook 100% of the time. At best, you can maybe ban people that press "Exit Match," but then people will just alt+F4 to get around that. For the sake of people with spotty connection or console people who lag out during hooking, I don't think this should be a bannable offense.
It's definitely quite rude though and exploitation.
Id say unless the guys dumb enough to say like "ez bw counter lol". Yeah i guess. But i do feel like this can be fixed like above by keeping the body till the next hook and it instantly dieing on hook. So the killer at least gets something. Also have had it happen where a killer gets pressure because the moment the killer picks the survivor up they dc. Then the killer has no other option than to just chase and down the nearest survivor who woulda had 5-10 seconds to get away from the hook. But now they don't.
-
You lost because your team couldn't do gens. Then afterwords couldn't find the hatch another means of escape. Then you get mad when the 3rd way to escape is made more difficult via a perk? Weird even from a survivor perspective (since lately i play a lot more survivor than killer). If nwo triggers i always acknowledged it as fair. Even when i know im probably dead. Go for a chase. Enjoy the time while you can. That's what i do. I turn the endgame to the "can i last longer than egc in chase". Chases are the fun of the game afterall.

You dont three hit a survivor with DH. Its still a two hit. And its downside is to be injured.
So its downside is to play the game? And you have complete control of when to use it vs other exhaustion perks? Before you say instant downs. Preferably the chainsaw characters:good survivors can force a m1 using windows and pallets. Same with looping ghostface and myers till the mark/exposed wears off. They are still m1 after all.

Yeah... Let's not buff strongest killer in game. She should not has any strong add-on.
I wouldn't say that. Addons are supposed to power up a killer for the most part. Or change the gameplay a bit. With the more bp the stronger then addon (which ironically never happens) but just because nurses basekit is strong doesn't mean all her addons should be memey or a detriment. That works against the concept of addons. To power up certain parts of a killer.

No, I said the patch notes had the correct description of what the perk was supposed to be doing and the in-game version was bugged or maybe an early version from testing or something. So they expected the perk to be what's in the notes but accidentally left in something from a test build of it.
Still seems kinda weird but alright. I can see why people labeled it a shadownerf when it was never explained. And both the description and effect in game were accurate. Vs normally one or the other. (Which makes it seem like it was intentional since both were accurate) But i guess its believable.
Like when mandy said "probably the text was wrong" but no it had a in game effect that correlated with the text.

Yes, if it affected lockers it was a bug. You can see in the original patch notes it wasn't supposed to.
So its just a coincidence the text listed it affecting lockers at the same time it was "bugged" and affected them? Come on...

Thanks. And Mandy's reply matches what I said - that description apparently was a bug and the original patch notes had the actual description of the ability
It's never been intended that Shadow Dance blood opens lockers faster - it says clearly on the addon what it affects. If it did affect lockers, that would have been a bug.
So its a bug it said lockers AND affected the speed?
https://youtu.be/OnexhRo4GoI10 months ago same addons and same timeframe. Unless iron maiden got a buff that seems a bit fast.

I don't see you or Mandy posting in this thread at all. Are you thinking of a different thread?
I did look up just now OhTofu's video from July 2020 and the description does include lockers so the original description apparently doesn't match the corresponding patch notes which unfortunately occasionally happens.
Sorry the link didnt post the first time so i had to edit the thread to link the other one. My bad. Should be there now. But you did look at the right tofu video.

I don't see any proof in this thread that Shadow Dance's description ever said it worked on lockers. All I've seen is you and a couple of people claim they remember it working on lockers but nothing to back it up. And when I've searched elsewhere for something showing the perk description saying it worked on lockers I can't find anything like that, and in fact in the original patch notes where Shadow Dance perks were created it specifically doesn't include Lockers in the perk description.
Here's the original patch notes for Shadow Dance (2.2). Notice the perk description doesn't include lockers.
Replaced with new add-on "Shadow Dance" - Blood. Changed rarity from Ultra Rare to Very Rare. Reduces the time required to vault windows, break pallets or damage generators while cloaked.
Look up at when i talked to mandy in this thread. Ohtofus video lists the old description. As well as i have a video with its clear effects and a picture from a year ago when i used the addon.

Wait, they changed the Shadow Dance locker speed? That was definitely a thing, because I remember all the memes about hyper-caffeinated Wraith having zero chill when you combined Shadow Dance and Iron Maiden. Sad to see that go, it was hilarious.
They did but it was never in a patchnote. (Apparently it was a "bugfix") yet...it clearly had an effect a bunch of people and videos can attest for it. So it clearly wasn't a bug. So i just assume its a nerf without a patchnote. (So a shadow nerf would be the correct term)

Sounds like a nerf when they didn't even know the addon themselves. I really doubt 2 different content creators would past in "open lockers faster" on an addon. Let alone accidentally typing "lockers" faster on both addons.
I would like a answer to this to but @MandyTalk guesses it was just misstyped. But as shown in the video above it clearly had an effect. Im assuming it got nerfed and just never made it into the patch notes.

Nobody performs well on Eyrie except Nurse. Moot point.
I've had some decent success on Farm maps. Rotten Fields can be rough, but if you get a three gen, it's over.
Likewise, that was why I specified that the Legion took us to THE GAME. One of the smallest maps in the game.
On maps like Dead Dawg or The Game, Legion is a menace. On maps like Eyrie or Ormond, he can have it rough. So does 90% of the rest of the cast though
My thing is legion was horrible (everyone pretty much agreed they were one of the worst killers in the game) so should they not be buffed just because their powers a little annoying? Especially with like otz said there's still a lot of counterplay for you as the survivor. If a killers seen as pretty bad they should be adjusted i think thats a bit of a no brainer. And there's a difference between annoying and powerful. Like people have said they dislike the buff because it makes legion more annoying. But it seems legions still rated as one of the weaker end killers power wise.

Sure, in a perfect vacuum where all survivors play at peak efficiency, they'll be spread to the 4 corners of Narnia. But sometimes the killer has Corrupt Intervention and you're on a smaller map like Coal Tower
yes, but is this better then the meme that was old legion? Seems like it for me even from facing them m yself. Because this gives me buffed wraith vibes. Everyone went to forums complaining about them even though they weren't in a bad spot. And now we got this bad wraith again.

I don't think it's necessarily a strength issue people are having. It's more of a "holy **** I'm mending for the 5th time in less than 5 minutes and I want to move on" type thing.
to be fair they might not be mending so often if people killed more time and did their part like has been stated. By splitting up and body blocking for teammates or stalling for time. Or waiting till the power runs out then finishing their mend.

had 4 or 5 boring games against legion now, i've seen some legions make it across the map to hit a survivor because of the length of time/speed they can get upto.
some of the most boring matches i've played so far constantly mending and not being able to dodge the ability hit without wasting some pallets/spinning perfectly
Don't instamend and make them respect pallets because they know they can jump over it theyll wait at the pallet most of the time. And maintain distance between you and your teammates as much as possible. Even with the most distance addons they can only go so far. Some friendly advice from a legion main and survivor.
-
Decided to use this addon with mural sketch most of today. Its very good at damage spread and the ability to instant down counters COH in my opinion. Had a match on dead dawg and they had 2 COH and still were getting instant downed consistently. It's so good especially for how long you can be in feral frenzy you do not feel pressured to take risks at pallets or the like because your afraid of the power running out. Survivors don't seem to enjoy it though. Also the bonus bp makes legion a bp machine with bbq and pudding. Definitely a favorite way to play legion for me.

For the first time since that horrible boon perk was added, I am not glad whenever I see a boon pop up when playing as Legion. That shining totem becomes a beacon that advertises survivors grouping up together and not repairing gens. I actively leave the totem up just so I can go back later and inevitably catch someone healing there to start to my stabbing spree.
I'm going to be playing a lot more Legion just for this reason alone. If you haven't played them yet, I highly suggest giving them a try!
Ive noticed it to it makes it so much easier to get pressure off.

I used to think this but i feel the speed makes up for it. Especially with mural sketch.

Idk who "everyone" is and i missed the last thread but this is actually a good idea and one that I've been in support of for years.
Killers should not have information on who the player is before the match, only what survivor is being played, what they're wearing, and what item they're bringing in.
If you wish to argue that killers should have this info to avoid cheaters, then it's logical to come to the conclusion that survivors should be given the killer's name for the same reason.
Fun fact which i don't know if its been patched or not. On ps4 if you check your current game (who your playin with) you'll see the names of all the people in the lobby. Including the killer. It's how a farming survivor messaged me during a anniversary. Confused the hell out of me.

No, it really doesnt affect anything.
That is unless you liked camping, running circles around the map to find the first survivor with no downside, and holding the chainsaw at short loops.
On the inverse like brought up by many people (and mclean as well) "then as a mechanic is it necessary...does it do anything to help the game?" especially when there's add ons like pighouse gloves which force you to overheat yourself to get enduring and brutal strength? No. Which is why even he admitted it could leave just they are stubborn because of the time put into it.
Btw pighouse gloves for those who don't know:
Pighouse Gloves is a Very Rare Chainsaw Add-on . Change: renamed The Thompson's Mix to Pighouse Gloves. Change: adjusted the icon and upped the Rarity from Rare to Very Rare . Rework: Increases action speed by 20% when breaking pallets or walls, or damaging generators while overheated. Rework: Decreases duration of pallet stuns by 50% while overheated. -
Mclean actually talked about it. Sadly he's not a dev anymore. But he pretty much said its a mechanic that "does not matter" and "could leave but itd be a waste of resources". So idk if that was their viewpoint as a whole on it but for anyone who's wondering.

The exact purpose of losing collision when hit is so a killer cannot block a surv into a corner and get two hits. As far as losing them momentarily as they pass through you, mastering that takes practice.
I mean the first thing you said instant down killers can already kinda do. Trap a survivor with bubba? Instant down.

Bugs are not shadow nerfs. This is why I follow up the statement that you've selectively cropped to say that if they are experiencing that, they should report it since it's unintended.
What about wraith no longer opening lockers faster with shadow dance? That wasn't in a patchnote.

Shadowborn should be buffed to worth a perk slot, not basekit.
I mean for people like me who suffer from motion sickness its kinda dumb to waste a perk slot for accesibility. (Although if it was buffed to a point to be good to run anyway maybe id be fine with that to) i don't really know.
-
I have to run it because of my motion sickness. I wish it wasn't a requirement but its how i have to play to enjoy the game... please bhvr make it better for the less fortunate 🙏

My problem is how much it hard counters myers and ghostface. Other stealth killers it's not the biggest worry. But those two have to run into it because of their design.

I think its not that it's a choice or not. It's that it's a dumb choice even for a decent full cosmetic. There's no real reason to prestige even though its a "choice" so some reward at least would give prestiging some value besides being mostly cosmetic. Like people have said 10% more bp per prestige. Considering I've already burned 2 million+ bp to get to 3 id say that's a decent tradeoff. Sure it's a choice but it's not a very popular one...like at all.

Plague is really not that intuitive to people new to her. Any killer can be made to sound trivially simple.
(With nurse you just look in a survivor's direction, hold m2, press m1. Billy is the same except you get closer to the survivor first)
I do personally just find it hard to rate plague very hard(While yeah she has ranged puke that makes survivors sick and can injest from black fountains to damage survivors with the puke) equivalent to hag and nurse. Even with the slight stuff plague has in her kit. Hag requires precise placement and cut off mindgames with your tp and nurse requires acute muscle memory, prediction and reaction time. Very hard isn't really the place for killers like plague or nemi compared to other killers in those ratings. I mean speaking of ranged killers just try to compare plague to pinhead. Who has to aim twice and has a chain and box mechanic you need to learn.
-
@Mandy said:
The killer difficulty rating is nothing to do with balancing. It's purely for new players and how easy/difficult it is for them to pick up the character and play reasonably well instantly. Some killers take a bit more understanding and experience on how to use their powers more effectively.
Some of these do seem weird though. (Namely doctor plague and nemi) plague just pukes on people (and sometimes injests to turn the puke into damaging puke). Doctor shocks. And nemesis whips with rng zombies.

I don't get the connection. You hit'n'run until you get a down. You camp and tunnel after you already have got one. The two tactics are not mutually exclusive.
It's not like tunneling and camping weren't prevalent before coh. If anything, most complaints about a surge of hardcore camptunnels were being spoken about with the introduction of mmr, not boons.
People called hit and run a borefest. But hit and run died when coh released. And coh itself forced the killer to basically camp or tunnel to keep any pressure. And it went from "hit and run zzzz" to "why is every killer tunneling and camping". Even though its kinda obvious why. Coh can reverse any pressure gained in seconds. Tunneling and camping has always been a thing. But i feel yeah it spiked a bit because of coh.

The devs have confirmed they're looking into changing Dead Hard
I wish the op said undying instead of ruin. Because that kinda was the reason for undyings nerf was pickrate. Or freddy. Even a balance dev said "idk whats wrong with freddy but its something" so he just threw a bunch of nerfs at em. It's a wonder with the boon/dh meta how good undying and freddy would be.

can’t install the PTB before it releases…
For the first one i have a bit more of a nicer (and actually valid way) to see where the person is coming from. Imagine a legion stacking double duration with the new speed boost. It'll be a bit easier to keep survivors injured. But it's not like the powers infinite anymore since the 5th hit will auto end the power and down a survivor. So i don't see their full justification. Since they aren't infinitely going around at 6.0 movement speed just stabing survivors over and over. Also the survivors could just not mend. So...i don't know their full point just partially.
