Even though build itself exist since forever and nothing really changed except 2.5% thana buff (which translate to sub 4 seconds), and worked for like 80-90% efficiency even before update.
It's stupid but probably not strong or oppressive, tbh.
I dont think it needed buffed in the same patch that they increased the gen time.

Oh if they predrop and spam vault i just start uncloaking. Half of the time they misstime it because of my uncloak addon and i smack them as they vault over. Then break the pallet. Sure it kills some of my time. But its not that bad.

Because killers have been allowed to believe they're entitled to at least a kill if they lost.
Survivors get 2 chances at escapes for free. And there's no real way to stop that as killer but find it first. So i think both sides should have that option when the games basically over.

Because for some reason Killers who failed all game and camp during Endgame think they deserve the pity Kill.
Hatch would like to know your location. Like i play equal time on both but i cannot blame the killer for wanting A kill when theres no gens to defend. I don't personally camp but obviously without perks like NWO theres no real other way to get a end game kill. Not to say stuff like NOED is fair though ofc either.

Current dead hard still can counter lunging tho
It can its just that its rare i don't really mind running into that 1 survivor that uses it. So then i just play differently around them. But old DH you had to play the entire game different. So it definitely feels better imo.
-
@Archvile said:
New DH is at its best when countering lunges, but it's more of a matter that not every single person in the lobby will always be running it. If you lunge and they have it, you're still getting punished, but the chances of that happening are way slimmer.
Yeah im fine with taking the risk personally. After making this discussion i did give 2 dhs value. But most of the other games i didn't have to worry about it. And it feels nice not being so common. Now its like "oh they have dead hard. Nice!" Unlike before where 90% they did and used it for distance. Its a risk reward type thing.

Yet no one is complaining about the Dead Hard change.
It's almost like a whole bunch of other factors are making playing miserable for one side.
I am aware the survivor side definitely needs love. And stuff like thana needs to be lowered. But thats not the point of this discussion.

Hardly any upvotes shows you're barking up the wrong tree. I never once used it and still know that it shouldn't have been touched, just like Iron Will, and Self-care among others.
Lets ignore the 75% pickrate and universal hated opinion of dead hard being stupid when used for distance. And now that its gone the entire game itself feels different. It was probably one of the most broken perks to hit the meta. But your entitled to your opinion.

Lol i do feel for the survivor end. But my god did the damn perk change the gameplay as a whole. You had to follow close behind. Not go for long swings even when a survivors just holding forward. Because they could extend the chase. And of course everyones favorite dh for distance. Like i never realized how much it impacted till it was gone.

I just looked up footage of my recordings I made during the 6th anniversary event. Turns out it really did not say it on the card. I would have wished that they would have just written it on the card instead of removing the effect, since wraith is already in a mediocre spot and the "opening lockers faster" aspect was never EVER the strong point of the addon :/
Heres from a wraith video a year ago
-
It did have a effect and a text to match including lockers. Any dev will tell you it was a "bugfix" but no it was stated in the description and had a in game effect. It was nerfed. That was all there is to it.

did you ignore the part where i talked about how it would need compensation for killers? you could easily do something like having inactive gens regress while someone is on hook and suddenly you'd have both room to punish camping and reward killers for leaving the hook to spread more pressure.
I think he means that survivors won't go for the unhook and just rush gens because hooks is one of a killers ways to pressure survivors. If they don't have to go unhook they'll just rush their gens then get them when they are done. So some timer forces the survivors to actually go for the unhook.

But this has been asked by the community and neglected by BHVR for years now (3-5 years).
There's no reason to not have a FOV slider nowadays, the arguments from people not wanting this feature are ridiculous or hilarious like:
"FoV TeCH MAn. HOw i wILL bE abLe tO sPIn In FRonT oF tHE KiLLer or cRouCh oN hIS fACE wITHoUT hE sEeS ME?"
or
"NOo...WE neEd tO be AbLe to HidE fRom ThE KiLLer, LoW FOv WaS MaDE fOR ThIS".
- If you're excluding a group of people that can't play the game without a perk just because of "Tech" that abuse the specific problem that those people have, I don't know what to say to you.
- This was made when the game was more like a stealth game instead of a chase oriented, and LOCKERS exist especially for stealthing/hide from the killer.
That fact that Me and other peoples are forced to run a perk to play the game because of inaccessibility in-game options is just sad to see in modern days, and the fact there's actually people that defend this inaccessibility is even more sad to see.
Well said thank you 👏.

Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy Dead Hard has been obliterated by a nuclear strike from low-earth orbit, but imo it was the only thing stopping everyone from using Sprint Burst, which is equally as annoying to deal with in its own way. I genuinely predict a lot more threads about Sprint Burst, coupled with overly dramatic phrases being thrown around.
Me a wraith player with mindbreaker.
Any killer with good catchup i think I'll be fine in this new "SB Meta" dead hard forced high mobility killers to commit to the chase to get robbed at the last second. Sprint burst its not so hard to just catch back up. And won't force you to commit to the chase anyway.

Yeah... I was telling for a long time that they should give out the perks a lot easier... The grind should go only for add-ons, offerings, etc. But perks are such a basic thing, and often one of the selling point of new DLCs... But what if you can't use them...
I think that's how it works, it is in the new update. Prestige 3 would result in 9, so 1 will result in 3.
Gosh all my addons though for killer specifically are telling me not to p1 everyone lol. I did it to survivor without a second thought because i didn't really care.

The thing is, even people who disliked Iron Will did not run Stridor back in the day. Except on Spirit. And if a Perk is only really useable on one Killer, it is not really a good Perk and should be changed. And IMO instead of nerfing Stridor, it should have been completely reworked back then.
But now Iron Will is dead. And with it probably Lucky Break as well, since there is 0 point in hiding your Blood and Scratch Marks, when you can be heard.
I was thinking the addons and stridor should have been reworked but i was also thinking from a "would behavior go back and rework addons and a perk or just nerf iron will". Ofc reworking them would be the end all better option. There will still be off the record as a option but yeah.

@Aven_Fallen said:

The thing is, adjusting the sounds does nothing. Because you can even hear an Ace when your Headset is good enough. Especially if Stridor-Spirit comes back (even tho, Spirit got that Perk Slot for free... I mean, this is what an S-Tier Killer needed, a free Perk Slot).
The thing with stridor was i didn't like how one survivor perk could counteract multiple addons and a killer perk on its own ofc (removing spirit from the equation) you have freddys rope addon, huntress addon, and nurse addon. And stridor as a perk being counteracted. When a killers perks need to be more valuable then a survivors to accommodate for the 1v4. Obviously throwing spirit into the equation changes things but i personally didn't like the idea of stridor being a dead perk either. But one would have to give eventually i guess. Which ofc the non meta wins in the end. Doesn't make the addons any better though in the end i guess. And stridor will still be borderline useless.

Yep. Using it for years, mostly because I cannot stand the injured sounds. I will also stop playing some Survivors entirely, e.g. I did not like Jane before, but I wont play her anymore. Same with Claire, I like her Skin, but not her injured sounds.
Without any way of removing those, I will not touch those characters again.
(Like, really, I dont care about any Survivor Perk Nerf, except for Iron Will)
Ah alright. I thought them adjusting the sounds as a whole would make it more fair but makes sense. Like if they lower the intesnity of say bill jane or claire but raise like ace claud and feng.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3057240#Comment_3057240
Yeah, it is whatever. I honestly dont care anymore, they nerfed the Perk just because it was Meta.
I will just play way less Survivor than before, fine by me.
Did you really use iron will that often? I mean ouch if so. But personally im a memer like red herring blast mine or quick and quiet head on. More power to you obviously but im just wondering if this is is over the top. Personally i like that claire won't sound like she had a asthma attack while running if they lower everything overall. Of course bringing up ace and others that are much more quieter as well to make it even ground.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3057103#Comment_3057103
First of all, nobody is abusing anything when they run Iron Will on certain Survivors.
Second, they only nerfed Iron Will because it was Meta. Thats it. And it is dumb. But instead of reverting the change, they do changes to the Survivors, which will be pointless anyway, since Iron Will is just dead.
I mean blocking out an entire part of the games design (your easier to be found while injured) is pretty nuts for a perk on its own. That doesn't have any downside or stipulation besides being injured (which it was bugged to affect breathing in general anyway) i don't think a perk should ever remove an entire part of a games design.

That is something that becomes rarer by the day.
These day many will quote streamers or content creators but rarely come with their opinion.
Not saying that streamers and content creators are always wrong, but nowadays they just take their word for it and don't try and form an opinion themselves.
The age of the interwebs is taking the ability to form your own opinion away i guess 😅
@[Deleted User] said:

People assuming that everyone just appeals to authority. Your no better then the appeal to authority person. Most streamers agree on obvious stuff? Is that appeal to authority since we agree on the same opinion?
I share a good bit of similar opinions with streamers because surprise its the right opinion to have sometimes. Like with perks and balance updates. Please counteract the points instead of just assuming its wrong because someone quoted a streamer.

This would be great, I have many survivors I don't actually play that much and are on levels around 40... Prestiging to 1 wouldn't be that hard and if it would result in prestige 3 with all teachables unlocked on tier 3 would help a lot for me.

-
Improvise,adapt, overcome?
-
Yeah idk why a obvious nerf is going live. Assuming its non-optional so you are basically permanently taking a debuff for something that won't always be useful.

I mean you could but all your addons and offerings would be gone. So its up to people i guess.

Hope for the best, that's about all I can do.
I apologize for getting aggresive. I am passionate about other people who suffer from it as well. I want no exposure. Just that everyone gets a fair shot and doesn't need to be down a perk slot for the same problem. I'm used to it by now i just gotta work harder to make up the lack of the 4th. But doesn't make it fair in my opinion. Thank you for your time though.

Bruh, I get motion sick off of turning my head too fast. I don't have any issue with dbd though unless I hold Q or E on Billy too long. You are fixated on the word 'accessibility'. If the 'people' affected was you specifically, I'd be more empathetic.
Shadowborn is crack, not cracked.
...why do you think shadowborne has been my pfp for years and i push it for accessibility so much? Do i need to make my problems obvious?
-
@SekiSeki said:
Haha, extend your FOV slider and get flashlight saved from behind you. That's a little nit-picky. Extra FOV is wild with killer, can't just give that out. Shadowborn is crack for kill, once you use it, you can't stop.
And you have the people who get motion sick from the already small fov so have to run a perk for accessibility? And people use it because it just looks better? Like they said themselves they don't want accesbility (the motion sick) locked behind a perk. So for their own logic they should give it out with a slider. Its not cracked at all. Its how some people need to play the game.

@Chilli_man2400 said:
i agree with the change of having Shadowborn be base with a fov slider. But I don’t think it would work cause killers will always have the highest setting cause having a wider screen is so useful.
Originally my secondary effect for Shadowborn was you see auras for a extra 1/2/3 seconds. But sadly lethal pursuer stole my idea so that’s not happening
My idea was make it like how it is with dredges nightfall. Survivors have a slight white glow when in your vision. Claudette in the bush you woulda normally missed? Meet my saw. Also as stated above i think having just max FOV at all times wouldn't be as busted as people made it out to be. But to high can make stuff worse to. So thats why a sliders perfect.

If you have deep wound effects endurance status don't prevent getting lethal hit. Legion's frenzy can't lethal you unless it's 5th hit. Same with Deathslinger.
Although there was a case with endurance if you hit a survivor into deep wound. THEN HIT THEM with the 5th feral slash. Endurance would give them the speed boost and stuff and the hit wouldn't down. So i think in this scenario the 5th hit will just slash right through the endurance.

Also, you Nurse haters need to do some reflection. It's getting pathetic and sad.
Gonna say i dislike nurse respectfully but i agree the lengths people go to bash eachother over her is insane. My dislike of her is just moreso you learn this game to use pallets loop and vault windows to outlast the killer. Then why have one whos just like "so you know all you've learned? Out the window against me". She doesn't play dead by daylight. Obviously you are free to rebuttal my conclusion if you want. And the only other thing i could also say is the bottleneck for good perks when nurse is thrown into the equation. And if you wanna buff killers as a whole. She's a special case definitely.

Also the funniest offense is when they say "you have to try to overheat your saw" but then make a purple that only works when your overheated. Actively forcing you to overheat for enduring and brutal strength basically.

After watching GTVel for so long(probably the best Billy main I've ever seen) I'm not so sure Billy needs buffs. He's A-Tier if you have rediculous game knowledge and skill. I'm just not sure how they could buff him to make him EASIER to use(there's a difference between needing buffs, and just needing to be easier to use)
Remove overheat as it only serves to hurt very bad billys or good ones who use their power for its intended purpose? Its never been very welcome in this game since its inception.

how tf is black box even C? It's a Iri that gives 12 seconds of blood warden to asleep survivors sure. It could block the gate the entirety that your asleep and itd be finally halfway decent. Since survivors would just go get the clock then run to the gate with the invulnerability. But there's no way i see it as C currently. Others seem about right though.

This is not abuse.
And personally, when the Boon is on the other side of the Map, I dont really have a problem with it as Killer. Because at least the Survivor has to spend a lot of time getting there. Would be different if it is in the middle of the Map on another Floor.
However, Perks or Perk Combinations are not abused. Like, nobody said that Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer is abusing something, despite this combo being quite oppressive.
Same if you look for Grab-Builds with old Prayer Beads (for Gens and Totems). Strong. But no abuse at all.
I would argue though is boil over builds abusing? Like sure they are using the perk. But if they go up to the top of ormand (or the famous rpd library) and just stay there the whole game refusing you to hook them. That's kinda abuse? Wouldn't be a problem if hooks were placed correctly and decently. But id at least say its troll gameplay since they arent moving from the spot (arent doing gens totems or moving and are just staying in the unhookable area) aka not participating in normal gameplay. That's the only time id say a perks being abused. Even from a 50/50 view. I hate the perk personally.

I want to clear something up with regards to Spine Chill.
The perk is going to work exactly as we stated in the Dev Update, with the line of sight requirements...however we are adding a visual indicator for the strength of the terror radius. This is down to the amount of accessibility comments that we have received. This is also not a permanent solution - we are working on accessibility improvements and when something has been implemented, that part of Spine Chill will be removed.
Sorry for the confusion caused around this. And we do agree, it's not ideal for players to have to run a perk in order to play the game.
"It's not ideal for players have to run a perk in order to play the game." Yet shadowborn has been run by motion sick players for that reason. Id hope that gets addressed sometime with accessibility.
-
yeah it does seem like the reward is mainly for the level 50 all perkers because they get all the free prestige levels and didn't have to reset everything for a cosmetic that really doesn't look the best. They lost out on a icon? Pfft alright. The trade off for said "icon" is not trippling their grind not to mention all the addons/items they lost on the way there. It's a very bad reward. No doubts about it.

"Exactly, they're doing nothing, so if you find this boring you can go and pressure the other two who are probably doing gens, actually progressing the game."
This isn't the situation I'm referring to.
I'm referring to the times nobody is doing gens. There are 2 sets of double lockers, all of which can be blinded from. Nobody is repairing a generator and everyone is within a locker, in pairs. They bring a map offering to guarantee this happens (ie. Coldwind). You physically cannot progress the game through any means of your own, you just have to wait for them to run out of flashlight charges before you can grab someone - and that needs like 3 of them to fully exhaust a flashlight. From that point onwards, the game is fairly easy. But getting to that point - when the only thing you are able to do is to grab someone from the locker - is so ######### dull.
We're on about 2 different things. In my situation - which is incredibly rare and has only been enabled due to the release of Dredge increasing locker spawns tenfold - it is genuinely uncountable without perks. Which, in my opinion, is bad game design.
I wonder could pinhead counter this by waiting on the chainhunt? I know its just one example but i forget what the chains stop.

I believe Open Handed should definitely increase the aura range, the same as it does with other auras.
Not really sure about what you mean with regards to Hex: Plaything, as that's independent of NOED and other aura readings?
The Aura of Hex: Plaything's Hex Totem is revealed to the Cursed Survivor within 24/20/16 metres
Playthings text.
Open-Handed increases all Aura-reading ranges by 8/12/16 metres.
Open handeds.
Sounds fairly similar to the new noed which reveals its aura within a certain meter range. Unless im reading wrong the hexed survivor should see it from farther?

I kinda wonder if open handed effects this and plaything. I've never experimented with it.

I swear the reason they changed Tinkerer is because some killers didn't have addons that were affected and it was just a pain to balance with it in mind? Like LP has an effect on every killer and 2s shouldn't be too gamebreaking either (unlike old Machine Gun Huntress for instance, which is the first thing that came to mind)
Exactly what i said lol. But yeah it did not affect some addons if they didn't have a percentage thing so it made it meh and then they buffed the numbers a lot. Then we got machine gun huntress and instasaw billy.

That was the first one i thought of as well. Gets it closer to pre nerf. Seems like the change will be nice but nothing that wild, this is also all assuming it does actually effect addons anyway. I lean towards it not effecting them as that was entirely the issue with old tinkerer from years back and why they changed it.
The thing with old tinkerer is i think it added percentage value of ANY effect. Windup quicker. Chainsaw charge faster. Move quicker. With this being aura reveal only its not nearly as broken as old tinkerer instasaw billy was. Or machine gun huntress. But here's hoping it works for addons in the first place.
