I've been using it for the past 12 matches, and it saved me twice. So I'd say it's gutted from what it was. Still helps from high up but otherwise I didn't see much use out of it.

It’s still too oppressive in my opinion.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Honestly Boil Over isn't that bad anymore.

RPD is the problem child here and usually is. Can we killswitch this map please?

The combination of boil over, RPD and swf is just bitter man.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Indeed it does. Can’t help but chuckle reading the comments on the forums saying they don’t want to change their perks to counter Boil Over, when you don’t even need perks to counter it at all in the first place. Slugging is free!

I tot we didn’t like slugging?

  • @GodLikeTerror said:

I seriously don't understand this. If you are going to sit there and split up on 3 different gens at the start of the round, and rush gens to try and get out 5 minutes later. Why do survivors complain if the killer decides to tunnel and camp then? Tunneling allows more pressure to get someone out of the game, and camping typically gets people off generators a lot of the times at least 2 of the 3 people trying to sit on gens if not all. I don't understand the mentality behind getting mad at the killer for it when you are the one trying to rush the round. That's why I don't get upset when I play survivor and the killer tunnels and camps, but then again most survivors only play one side, and that's the easiest side where you can mess up nonstop and get away with it, because the game allows you to. Sorry if that was a bit of rant, but like a lot of survivor players literally do not understand this fundamental fact.

Camping is lazy way of expecting to get kills, only bad killers do it

  • @TicTac said:

Yh lets make the game boring. Great idea.

    Are you dumb?

I pointed out two killers that I said have annoying design in my opinion. There’s 16 other killers. Again with well thought out replies

  • @Carth said:

In other words 'design M1 killers without chase powers pls'

How you got that from what I said I don’t. Well thought out response

  • I don’t see the correlation... What I said in that post is exactly why he should get good. It’s not hard to kill a survivor is it.

Do you have anything substantial to add to either this post or my old one????

  • @Canas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2113177#Comment_2113177

Survivors simply have far too many second chance perks, there really need to be more nerfs to those.

I have bad killer games, but the answer isn’t to nerf DS even tho it’s fresh off a nerf.

How about try to prevent a 4 man escape. You could’ve gotten at least one kill. That would make it much more easier.

  • @Canas said:

There's literally nothing you can do as a killer except watch a survivor crawl through the exit-gate as long as they have this perk. If you attempt to pick them up you will only eat the stun along with the added humilation. This cannot be allowed to continue, the perk should deactivate once a survivor enters the exit gate area.

Look at this and tell me this is fair. This is the equivalent of rubbing salt into the wound, there's absolutely no way to win at that point anymore.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/486CNQAK3URN/no-counterplay.png

    How about you get good?

  • @mintchapstick said:

No? Because not cleansing is only a tip that works in higher ranks when you're playing with people who are good at running the killer and don't need two health states. Not cleansing also isn't an intended game mechanic, it's just a possible strategy (that again, only works for some people).

It is literally not hard to run early and set yourself up in a loop.

  • @SpaghettiYOLO said:

Tell people to be one hit down... yeah, sure. Makes sense.

When was it a chore to run the killer, are people that incapable of getting off gens and looping.

  • @Zacharry100 said:

I see so many post saying it was bad...like how if you were to be tunnel ds was doing the job it was made for....is it because you can't be toxic anymore. If you give me a good reason on why the old ds should've stay....I can with 100 percent say is that you are one of the people that abused it

When I used to use DS I wasn’t “toxic” and to my knowledge I didn’t abuse it either.

If your happy with the change why are you making this post, just move on.

  • Where are your manners?

I personally hate going against nurses, because all the nurses I go against to be so damn godly. Just running straight doesn’t counter her, it might add an extra blink, but what am I supposed to do, wait at a pallet? Or maybe go around a loop a couple times 🤣

  • @RX7MANE said:

Why is it so hard to get stunned or get a stun when encountering a pallet as survivor/killer now? Will this be looked into or not just wondering .

    It’s bugged atm

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

Enjoy your break man. It's good to take a breather and come back fresh

Appreciate it. Hopefully I haven’t lost my money on the rift.

  • @Sodahead said:

Then learn from it like I had to do.

Old ruin: I learned to hit greats.

Tunneled: I learned loops, tactics & perks.

Camped: I stayed as long as possible to buy my team time on gens.

Everyone wants free wins now and complain online for the devs to cater to them when they don't succeed.

Try to learn and get better after a small break from the game.

Yes mate, learning to get better at not being tunnelled is what I need to do.

    cheers

  • image.jpg

Peace all, hopefully less toxic days are coming! Gyms will be back open soon so gg

  • @ProfGameAndTalk said:

I still run DS and I think it works as intended. When a killer intentionally ignores other survivors and just focuses on me then I get a stun and a few seconds to get away. It also helps out at endgame when teammates try to get me without BT. I've gotten the DS stun and then out the gate a few times. I don't see any issue with how DS is working. If I'm working a gen or healing someone else then it goes away and I'm really not being tunneled at that point.

Okay I get that you say that you don’t have an issue with tunnelling. How about your team mates? That’s where the snow balling starts in my matches. They’re not running it killers are abusing it. Me alone running DS in 90% of matches won’t change the team experience.

  • @KingFrost said:

I only tunnel when I absolutely have to. Like if 4 gens get done on a big map like Ormond by the time I get my first down, what am I supposed to do?

The killers I go against are tunnelling survivors from the start. And they’re using Freddy spirit huntress.

  • @Blueberry said:

I get very rarely tunneled or camped. Not to mention if you were actually legitimately being tunneled/camped your DS would be working.

So your saying u don’t experience any tunnelling in your games, well happy birthday.

there’s 3 other survivors, it only take one of them to get tunnelled and kill them self on second hook. I cannot control that. I use DS, it doesn’t change the fact that everyone I seem to go against are assuming no ones running it. By time they get hit with DS they almost always commit to re down. Doesn’t mean DS isn’t working!

  • @sesawyer3127 said:

Just had two matches with the same wraith killer who simply hooks then goes invisible right next to the hook and stays there to camp all survivors who try to save. Literally the same one doing the same thing LOL. A six year old (which is prob who he was lol) can hook then sit there doing nothing else until a save. I am not complaining because I won one of the games but just seems boring to always do that and never really play the game.

I love to play competitively, I will normally sacrifice myself to save a team mate one the EGC if I’ve had a exciting match. Killer pressuring gens, going for chases, survivors cleansing totems and looking for chases and not just sitting on gens. But this isn’t happening anymore. It’s all the same, team mate gets hooked, proxi camped by a easy killer. They kill them selves on second hook. Rinse repeat.

  • @BadDocter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240305/dr-holding-the-game-at-a-stalemate

Since you didn't mention anyone getting hooked, i can only assume you were all too afraid to be injured and kept the status quo. If you were willing to shed some blood it would've been very possible to break his 3 gen.

He got his first hook during the back and forth of the three gen. He stayed in the Center of the triangle and hooked in the Center. I didn’t go into too much detail in the first post as I tot it would be implied that we tried all that we could. We were all injured for the most of it. It was futile.

Sounds like none of you gave up any hook states or anything. He did nothing to hold the game hostage, the only reason you all were in the game that long is because you all decided you just had to leave at all costs. Its funny how you only showed the killers score and nothing else, that just seems a little fishy to me.

If you read what I said in its entirety you’d remember me saying I killed myslef out of frustration which caused the hatch to spawn and the 3 got out with a key.

Absolutely nothing fishy here, I only intend to show his full build, nothing to do with score. I would have gotten a pic of the full screen but when you disconnect for the server it boots you back to loading screen.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2081918#Comment_2081918

Against a Doctor? No. Especially not with the build he had. You would essentially need perfect timing everytime an overcharge gets along, otherwise you lose 5%, let alone that he had iri queen, which, if you try to rush a gen with more than 1 survivor, means you get shocked and forces the Overcharge to trigger. Then he has surveillance to see which of his 3 gen is being touched so he can instantly go there and chase survivors off again.

For you to win this, you need to keep a killer at bay from 1 generator for 40 full seconds or for 60 seconds without failing any Overcharge skillcheck. You need to avoid him shocking you, because very shock and meeting with other survivor grants you half a madness point. Once you reach Madness 3, which is quite easy to do in a small area where you have a 3 gen, you need to snap out, in which time, you cannot work on a gen. Add in the fact that Doctor would keep smacking you whenever he can, forcing you to heal or be a free hookstate. Because once you are slugged, you cannot work on a gen.

To break this 3 gen against this build, you need at least 1 brand new part and prove thyself, all while you force the doctor to "waste" time hooking survivors instead of kicking gens.

So no, 3 gens are not always doable.

Thanks for such a detailed reply. You’ve hit the nail on the head. I’ll copy and paste your quote on the top of the original post.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Gens fly by and survivor's say "just apply pressure" or "learn to give up on a chase that isn't worth it"

The killer defends gens and the survivors say "Why aren't you chasing me?"

that argument is valid however not in this context at all mate.

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

As a doc who often uses this strategy, I fell the need to offer my experiences defending 3 gens. This guy played a lot like I would of - not committing to any chases outside the territory of the 3 gens (although I typically don't pick out 3 gens from the start and camp the corner, it's something I develop later as the game progresses).

Every 3 gen can be cracked, it's just much more difficult. Sounds to me like you didn't spread out his attention among the 3 gens well enough. I find it's typical of survivors to just focus 1 gen when they are in situation like that when I'm hard camping a 3 gen.

However, if the survivors are actually really good about working the two gens furthest from each other, they will eventually crack my 3 gen and pop one of the gens.

He wasn't even running pop, so kicking the gens shouldn't of been getting him very far. And time he's spending on that gen or shooing people off it, somebody could be using on the opposite generator. If you hover the gens aggressively, especially with 4 people, you are going to eventually overwhelm him and come out on top.

Not an ideal situation, but totally beatable. You just have to risk more skin than you are probably comfortable with.

I hear and understand what your saying. My problem with your defence of cracking the 3 gen is.... On the preschool maps a lot of the gets are 1 and two man gens.

We tried diligently to break it, I was playing solo q and we were all pretty much on the same page. His 3 gen must have been sent from the gods. A single man gen on top of the stairs in a house, a two man gen directly outside the house only separated by a pallet and another two man gen to complete the triangle.

As a Dr main you should recognise and know what each of the iridescent add ons do. Soon as you come into contact with another survivor both would scream. Dr would turn up hit one and then rinse repeat hitting one or two survivors, kicking a gen and shocking. Added with surveillance and over charge.

He did not need pop at all. The most we got one of the gen to was half.

I would rather get tunnelled than go against this play style again. This was literally a match of whom would crack mentally first, which he had the resources to win as he designed.

Question... Do you find it fun or amusing playing like this? Do you leave thinking, “yes I won that”.?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2081628#Comment_2081628

Yes, it does. When this happens, you should record the trial, report the killer in the post-game, and then send the video to support.

I didn’t record it however did hit report.

  • @YungDuccy said:

Toxic survivors that are decent that destroy baby killers do suck but if you let that "ruin your experience" then you aren't really fit for dbd im sorry lmfao

That’s not fair to say at all. The fella literally said this was a one off, and evening if wasn’t, what he went through in that match could have ruined his experience and rightfully so.

The only thing I would say tho is don’t take haddonfield serious. You can still do really well as killer and 4K but we all know this map heavily sides with survivors, as do some maps for killer.

  • @Mr_K said:

Sounds like it didn't pay off for him.

Exactly he didn’t even make a profit in blood points for the add ons he ran

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I wonder if that could count as holding the game hostage...

Its so annoying that technically the way he was playing he was defo holding us hostage however I’m sure someone would say, “on the contrary that’s a valid strategy”.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

I got DS'd while the guy was getting healed. That's bullshit why did it still activate?

    Stop tunnelling!!!

  • @Clevite said:

I imagine some folks need/want the points. I personally don't care about points anymore after 4 years on this game. I enjoy a fun match where I get challenged and have a chance to get better. So, I don't farm. I just do gennys until I can get out or killer gets tired of swinging his weapon and grabs me and hooks me.

As killer, I don't farm either. I play pretty damn "fair" anymore, so I often get a lot of hook actions. But if say Haunted grounds pops just as discordance lights up, and people quit on the hook because of it. Then I may just let the last player find the hatch.

I like what you said there, if your going from hook to chase to hook no one would have the need to farm as everyone would earn their due share from organic game play.

  • @GeneralV said:

Regarding farming, I don't really like it. It is nice when Bloody Party Streamers come into play, but sometimes you just want to play the game.

However, in my opinion there is an exception: events. During events, I am more than happy to farm with killers and survivors and earn as much bloodpoints as I can.

I have pretty much the same stance as you do. But as it is now I just don’t see the point.

  • @TitoEid said:

It's a shame and when I say shame I think I fall short of the blows that the murderer gives when you throw a pallet, you are literally on the other side and you see how the bloody blow goes through the pallet and hits you. LITERALLY goes through it ... fix the game gentlemen of the dead by daylight and stop pulling so many ######### skins that are useless

At the minute you can’t even get a pallet stun. I think an even bigger change that needs to addressed is huntress and slinger’s crappy hits.

  • @SilentPill said:

I just tunnel if there’s no obsession, survivors don’t wanna pay the DS tax and instead been stacking up on the other second chance perks instead. No reason not to punish the greed.

sounds like a power complex to me. Honestly, if I get hard tunnelled I am letting go on second hook.

  • @Seoul said:

There’s nothing wrong with that. If you don’t think you’re going to have a good time then you’re doing the right thing by getting a new lobby. :)

I don’t avoid certain lobbies unless I recognise usernames of people who are toxic. I don’t like playing with the teams that just try to annoy the killer. :(

Exactly, the option to leave the lobby is there for a reason. Another thing I’m guilty of is dogging lobbies with 2 or more prestige 3 claudettes

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Eh, youre just creating longer lobbys doing that. I agree playing with swf as a solo is annoying often but avoiding them seems stupid. Not to mention stuff like matching outfits can just be a coincidence and not every swf is toxic.

In my experience, just don't pay to much attention on those details and rail yourself up because of it and play like normal

How is it stupid making a conscious decision not to play in certain lobbys? Stupid isn’t the word I would’ve chosen personally.

And obviously not everyone one with the same characters are swf! However you can often tell when 3 survivors with similar names, outfits and and flashlights are more than likely swf.

you don’t have to always be devils advocate.

  • I got grief by a Freddy main whom recognised me from a previous match. He came in with all the perks and add ons he thought were op.

I looped him for a bit and got downed at 3 gens. He just stood over me nodding his head waiting for me to bleed out.

At the time my team mates didn’t know what was happening, neither did I. Game ended in Freddy getting owned by a couple of the survivors.

3 of us bled out and the other escaped through the gates. Mostly trolls ply as Freddy.

  • @QwQw said:

I once had four Forever Freddy's in a row, three of which were on Hawkins. I don't think I've ever been closer to uninstalling this game than that.

But Huntress only gets 5 hatchets compared to Trickster's 60. And she takes way longer to throw them.

I don't even know how you can compare the two.

    Nerf Trickster

I’m not complaint about her balance, or even comparing her to any other killer. It’s the fact that she has wall hacks.

  • @Yords said:

For the people is a very underrated perk IMO. The perk allows you to immediately take pressure off of a certain survivor and encourages the killer to switch targets.

It is actually an incredibly powerful perk and comes pretty close to being meta, the only reason it is not a meta perk is because of the drawback. The drawback being that you stay broken for 90 seconds.

It is still a good perk regardless.

    Thoughts?

Some of the team mates I get in solo queue no than an :D

You don't have to completely stop playing. Nobody is stopping you from playing unless they are at your house unplugging the controller or hacking you, being over dramatic isn't going to change the facts.

Tunneling has existed and will exist in every multiplayer game that isn't a 1 shot insta-kill scenario. I get tunneled all the time playing support in Overwatch, and playing Survivor here. I deal with both the same way, change tactics, use the tools provided in game, and work with my team. The new ds still works the same in instances where you are being tunneled.

Also in this game particularly being tunneled out means losing 4 chases. You say looping is one of the most fun parts of the game, well there's 4 opportunities to loop your heart out. Bring ds and you get 5.

Omg who’s the dramatic one here :D

please tell me what tactics and tools you use to stop tunnelling, I’m really interested.

We all have played killer here and know for a fact that if you are determined to remove a s specific player from the match ASAP a stub from DS won’t stop that.

I literally quoted your entire comment - thats what I replied to.

But equating looping to tunneling and camping is just sad... Looping/chase is one thing. Gens and kills are another. But comparing looping to tunneling and camping... Oof...

I don’t know if it’s satire what he’s saying comparing tunneling to loop. Must be off his head.

  • @ImHexyAndINoed said:

I dunno what to tell you, Get use to it. Like it or Not Tunneling And Camping are Legit strategies the same as Looping and doing your objectives quickly.

You don't have to like it, but if it's such an issue play Killer instead, that way you can't be "Tunneled"

How can you compare looping to camping and tunnelling. Looping generates points for both players. It’s one of the most part of a trial.

Tunneling is depriving a player out of taking part in the match. It’s not fun to be tunnelled and it’ll more than likely leave the player earning little to no blood points.

Why should I have to completely stop playing survivor because rank 1 killers won’t stop tunneling.

  • @Pulsar said:

Idk why people aren't running DS. It's almost like people only abused it or something.

it's core functionality of discouraging tunneling is still intact.

The issue is that people heard, "DS nerf" and decided the perk was dead.

I had the worst games this morning, all rank 1 killer offenders. The Xbox is now off!

.... DS really only boils down to a few seconds of distance, and to a killer whom doesn’t care or can’t map pressure it’s meaningless.

Point being it’s fostering a lot of frustrating playstyles and attitudes.

  • @Tsulan said:

Have you considered taking DS against tunneling? Because it works perfectly against this.

I never really used DS recently, I never really had to. However it shouldn’t be down to a single perk. Just the same 5 gens shouldn’t be finished with with everyone having under 10k points.

  • @Tillablerhino44 said:

Why shouldn't Freddy ba able to transport to the exit gates. Why is his teleport limited to just the gens. I don't get it . Remember me is a slow down door perk. And blood warden also slows survivors from exiting. It is like after the last gen pops he forgets how to use his power it makes no sense

Lol the fact that you actually took this pen to paper 😂

30min for me and friends to get in to games as survivors even on our own, It's got to the point where I or my friends ever want to play as a survivor with or especially without my friends compared to being the killer and having to wait 3 minutes if even that to get in to a game. So as far as I'm concerned this is a very sad multi-player game and needs to fix this soon rather than making new content or else there will be no need for new content because just as the killer sacrifices the survivor on the third hook, the game community for Xbox has got DBD on twice and is catching up for the third down and hook before this game finally dies. So my advice kindly hurry up and fix it.

    what did you say???
