It's true that especially at higher level gameplay they heavily rely on Dead Hard and DS. Boons are strong but i think with current "chase" meta (either 1-shot or just chase and hook, hit&run is dead), Dead hard is the one perk which is the crutch. Boons can be gamechanging but with dead hard expanding nearly every chase nowadays, they should finally nerf it.

Yes it matters. Killer is ALREADY miserable. Due to maps. Due to boons....And you want to punish an already miserable role first ? It needs to be the other way around. Where they make maps less safe. Boons less strong. Then they can think about nerfing the impact "camping"(doesn't really exist anyways) and "tunneling"(also doesn't really exist) has on the game.
Most people don't want to do that. But are forced to mostly.
wait, how does it not exist? It's legitimately called like that by everyone. I do it myself when i need to so why trying to deny it like that? Every fog whisperer or comp player with 10k hours calls it like that and there are definitions when something is "camping" and "tunneling".
I've never said i want to nerf the killer role, i already said drastic balance changes are needed, which ones those are is a topic for the devs, being it maps or perks or gen speeds or whatever. But in return you have to make sure the unwanted and unfun strategies get punished and are not worthwile anymore. I don't know any killer main who actually likes to camp or mindlessly tunnel, they just do it because they feel like they have to do in order to win. Most, like me, like to chase people but it is not rewarding against a good team.

Ah yes. There's that very wrong thinking again. Things shouldn't ever be punished. Things need changed(mainly maps). So it doesn't feel like you NEED to use said things you want punished.
doesnt matter where you start to balance as long as it leads to a more balanced game. But just changing maps will not stop hardcore campers and tunnelers, i would say it's the opposite, if it's even more efficient now, why stop doing it? Do you really think killer mains are that empathetic and compassionate? From my experience, you need to actively punish people or they will take advantage of things that are in their favour. I see survivors bringing OP items nearly every game, as long as they have them they will use them too.

99% of non salty people won't point out anything about the match.
i like to talk about the match sometimes, doesn't mean i'm actually offended for a while because i either died or got no kills. And even if i'm salty a little bit, in many situations it is understandable and there is nothing wrong with calling it out. This "stop crying"-answer is just as braindead as the bots who spam "ez" as reply to anything.
-
it's basically the strategy everyone in comp tournaments does, it just shows that it is the most effective one. Playing against 4 survivors until the endgame is unwinnable if the survivors are decent at least.
To get rid of it, drastic balance changes are needed, tunneling and camping must get punished harder and going for everyone must get rewarded more.
-
its the usual answer you always get when you say ANYTHING in aftergame chat which can be defined as "complaining". It's always oooh you're so salty, you're crying over a loss, stop crying blahblah... just by pointing out some thing about the match, about the playstyle or whatever
-
the same happened to me probably yesterday. i thought it was because i was salty and someone actually took the effort to send it to BHVR (wasn't THAT serious, just some offensive strong words), but the person said later he didnt report me.
I reported 2 groups of hackers yesterday and also told them in aftergame chat that they will get banned, the ban happened like 1 hour after my last game (which was against 1 of those hackers, i usually just DC as soon as i realize that there is a hacker in the match)
-
Its tilting and frustrating at high mmr, you just realize that there is a point where nearly every killer is helpless. You have to outplay the MMR by actively de-ranking once you reached that point.
I have fun with killers i dont play that often because survivors there are not as sweaty and very mediocre. But with my 2 mains? Forget it. It makes you feel like youre just a very bad killer but the reality is that there is not much any killer can do except maybe Nurse or Blight against 4 DH 4 DS and boons plus items and a survivor sided map. "Have Fun!".
-
i started running NOED on my mains, a perk i really hate, just because i play against such good survivors with my 2 mains that endgame is guaranteed in 4 of 5 matches. It's just sweaty every single game and i can't even think about running "fun" perks because the game would just be over in 5 minutes.
I feel you guys, on the one hand i think that the game is kinda balanced overall but on the other side it feels like current survivors skill combined with full meta builds and items is so overwhelming like it never was before. And the main reason for this is MMR, yes it made people "better" in a way that they learned to play more efficiently but the matches are generally not as fun anymore because MMR made it a sweatfest

Twins have been completely left in the dust. I don't know why they were considered top 3-4 killers before CoH, but they definitely aren't that now. I do think the stats back us up in this case. You need to play Twins at an extremely high level to do well with them. All the fov techs survivors can do, and Victor having a ludicrously inconsistent hitbox, and there being a lengthy animation, cooldown, or kickable state every time you do anything, absolutely kills this killer. The hitbox part to me is the most infuriating of all. Here's how a match of mine with Twins goes:
Survivors are taken by surprise by Victor and give a bunch of injures at the start. I hardly ever miss them. Then suddenly I guess I'm just a bad Twins player and I lose the game. No, what happened was the survivors started twitching left or right, or abusing Victor's fov, making it almost impossible to hit them. His hitbox is so poor, they just recognized that they could abuse it and get a free win.
Demogorgon's shred is similar to this, where your attack literally stops right in front of the survivors or you slide past them instead of hitting them. You were dead-on, but the game told you "no, you don't get this hit". It is so random and infuriating.
IMO his hitboxes are big and it makes Victor nearly undodgeable if the killer knows what hes doing.
I've scrimmed against Comp Twins and they do fine most of the time. They have problems with the new boon meta but those are forbidden in most tournaments.

Twins are easy to play against lmao. I have only been slugged once against them but that was because my team was trying to sabotage and get flashlight saves. It’s fine tho. Still better than pig. But always remember, “ THEY ARE MONSTERS AT HIGH MMR”😂
They are. Watch some tournaments and you will see some very good Twins. They're not Blight-level and they have counterplay but it needs a very organized team. Those Twins players win 9/10 of their pub matches.
EDIT: forgot about boons because i don't play them, but yeah they hurt them

The important thing is to lean into her speed. No matter how good a survivor is, it doesn't matter because you are bloodlust 15. It may also be good to play against spirit so you understand more accurately how your movements affect the distribution of sound for survivors. Ultimately, knowing that the survivors know gives you another avenue with which to mind game. Its still a fairly new mechanic, so even playing with spirit for 500 hours its fine if you still need to practice.
Furthermore, I've found that sight is actually more valuable than some make it out to be for spirit. As, when you come out of your phase, survivors are actually brought into your vision with red/orange embers which makes them very easy to track.
Personally my favorite build with spirit is BBQ, Pain Resonance, Retribution, and Plaything. Pain resonance can be replaced with Pentimento if you would prefer more aura reading from Retribution. There is so much aura reading and tracking in this build that it allows you to keep an eye on the macro game while still focusing on what Spirit is good at, the chase.
yea that ember is nice, it shows you survivors you wouldnt have spotted otherwise. Plaything and Retribution sounds like a nice combo, i will try that out, i was focussing on gen regression (corrupt, pop, deadlock OR corrupt, pop, pain resonance + x) because i had 3 games in a row were gen speed was just insane, but sometimes its just because of some toolboxes or so. When survivors split up around a bigger map i feel very helpless but that could just be a general dbd thing.
@dugman said:
I'm by no means a Spirit expert, but one thing you can try is using the fact that they can hear you to your advantage by faking one direction and then moving another, sort of like faking movement with the red stain and then backtracking at various loops. If the survivors hear you coming one way around the loop they'll react by going in a certain direction, so if you feint and go back they may not realize in time that you backtracked and will run right into you.
Of course if the survivor isn't trying to listen for you then that feint makes no difference at all, it's basically going to be a coin toss what they do.
yea i try that on pallets and windows very often but they often have enough time to react because if you dont play with double speed or speed and duration youre just not fast enough to backtrack (the exception being very unsave filler pallets)
@ThiccBudhha said:
It is the Twilight Zone, fam. People are just stuck in their ways, she is not good. There is no advice anyone can give you. You are already an experienced Spirit. You probably know better than they do what she is capable of.
i've seen some insane comp spirits even after her nerf but i feel that the Stridor nerf also hurt her a lot, i had games with 4 iron will's were you basically just phase around and hope for the best. If you miss a phase, survivors can just hold W to the next pallet because you're 110%, that's so annoying and punishing (against good players who can loop). You will down them eventually when your power comes back, but that costs so much time and compared to other chase killers she feels much more punishing now.
@Steel_Eyed said:
In general - The new counterplay makes me more inclined to play her now. Her prior iteration was so one sided it felt like shooting fish in barrels. Like outplaying cause I waited at a pallet wasn’t really fun.
Now I still smash teams with her but the cheesy parts of her game are gone and I couldn’t be happier.
To OP - Don’t sleep on her greens and purples addons. They do more damage than gimmicks.
I would not recommend Brutal Strength. If a chase perk is wanted, I’d highly recommend STBFL. Also playing around pallets is still a viable option with Spirit.
i tried that and 8 stacks is nice for sure, but not being able to chase the obsession is annoying and when i'm out of power it doesn't make that much of a difference with 110%. But the same goes for brutal strength which is mostly just a "quality of life" perk. I will try it again.
You're right about the first part, i was maining her in my early dbd times, then dropped her because i was annoyed of people ragequitting or onsulting me for playing her, i mained Wraith then but it gets boring after a while and now i decided to main her again because downing someone feels more rewarding now, like i actually earned it.
-
i really hope they're finally realizing it sucks, they just need a proper rank system and then make rules like "don't match with people more than +/- 4 of your rank", it will not be perfect but a system which is purely based on escapes/kills is worse.
-
escaping 15 times in a row with no perks is not possible, not on EU servers and not if you actually participating in the game. Even if you stealth all game and wait for hatch, chances that the killer is finding hatch before you one time and then killing you at the gates are too high. And i don't know why i should play like this, letting everyone die and then get hatch is just boring and not really a challenge. And even if youre very good at looping, there will be situations where you just cant do anything
-
On my mains (Spirit and Wraith) it's about ~3 per match i think. I 4k a lot and then i have the occassional 0k or 1k game were nothing works, so i guess it's something like 2,75 maybe.
On all the other killers i don't really play for kills, i play other killers only to learn them and to have fun, sometimes i let survivors escape when i think i was winning lucky because i don't want my MMR to skyrocket on those killers.

no it's not. ur mmr is just low.
i'm prob around top mmr for survivor and i escape 80% of my solo games... you're doing something wrong, whether that may be being too/little altruistic, bad at looping, where and when you pressure gens, etc.. record a match of ur gameplay and then look over it and see what you would do differently, there will prob be a lot you should work on
i'm not a god survivor but i have nearly 3k hours in this game (60/40 i think) and i think i'm solid, i actually played comp once and know the strategies you need to win there, i'm not a god looper and i do mistakes from time to time but that's basically intended in the game, that's why we are 4 and not 1 survivors.
"ELO hell" is when you basically play a game were you rely on your teammates and if they're doing too many mistakes you die too. If somebody gets downed in front of basement by Bubba at 5 gens, then that's just bad gamesense (or very bad luck). When someone gets hit while exposed by Ghostface and while working on a gen (not even realizing they got exposed), than that's just huge inexperience or whatever. When somebody let's me go into second stage while the killer has downed someone on the other side of the map, that's just lack of game sense again... just a short list of things that happened tonight...
-
@lagosta said:
Bro, there's something wrong with your narrative. You cannot be stuck in an ELO while losing 8/10 games, you'd be actively losing your ranking as reaching a stable rank means a 50/50 escape/death ratio. I would advise you to look at your matches more objectively and review what is really happening.
that's right, i'm playing swf sometimes and then i escape more often but our team plays together since a long time (and our escape rate is maybe something like 5 or 6 out of 10 matches, depends on how sweaty we want to play). I was actually playing swf the night before. But whenever i play solo the fun drops significantly.
The only time i remember i escaped today was when a bubba killed 3 survivors in basement (he wasn't facecamping but kinda proxy camping, who wouldn't when survivors play this dumb) and i just camped the exit gates until he found hatch for me. I feel like specific killer strategies just work flawlessly against unexperienced solos and then i feel really helpless because i need my teammates to survive (going for hatch and let them die all the time is boring).
@Moplington said:
Yeah solo queue is actual hell, I've had so much more fun playing killer lately.
I play a lot killer lately and had much fun because i was playing mostly killers i rarely play with lower MMR rating. With some exceptions the survivors are pretty chill and i can learn the power and just have a good time. I don't even care if some escape and when i want to win and play very sweaty and "unfun" i mostly 3k-4k.
@chargernick85 said:
Sounds like bad luck to me. I am exclusively a solo survivor and my escape rate is much higher then yours. It takes a dc, gen phobic survivors, or a great killer and even then sometimes we still win. All it takes is one bad chase for the killer to lose.
i was at high mmr after i played exclusively swf for some time (i could see from the hours of the killers and survivors) and games were much better because i had teammates who could loop longer than 10 seconds and actually had some game sense and good decision making. No survivor can win a game alone.

I mean, I would say play a door opening build if you want to escape MMR hell.
I think hatch escapes don't work but door camping with Wake up + Resilience/Spine chill is a borderline optimal strategy for raising MMR in solo Q.
And it just got buffed even further so you should be able to get out through the door almost every single time if you survive to lategame. Vault build is meta but then it only takes wake up added onto it to turn into a door camping machine. It is cheesy af? Sure. But who cares?
hmm sounds like a plan actually, but i feel like an Exhaustion, BT and maybe even DS is kinda necessary. But i will try out Wake Up for sure.

The issue is not about the kills, I dont care if I even got 20 0ks in a row, I want hook games. I rather have a 12 hook game with 0k than a 2k with 2hooks, its boring killing someone on his first hook and also not fun at all trying to get your first hook till all gens pop.
i haven't read your long text but if you want to play dbd on a high level and care about "winning" (which is 3k-4k for most people) then you have to dismiss the idea of 12 hook games. It's just not possible against good survivors and that's not their fault. If it would be possible to 12 hook every game then it would be highly unbalanced. Hooking everyone once is absolutely no pressure for the survivors. But having someone on death hook means they either have to take hits and leave gens or they can be easily pressured in a 3v1 scenario, there you have the upper hand most of the time, at least as soon as you hook someone and some other surv has to go for the save.
You can still just go for hooks but 4 survivors will have it easy to pressure gens if they're not busy in other ways. They game is generally balanced if you know how to play, the only thing that ######### it up is the RNG of tiles and loadouts. No need to change the general mechanics.

it makes people not wanna try out new killers because the matchmaking is so broken that you often have to lose a few matches until you get suitable opponents. I rarely had problems with other killers which i tried out in the past days because my opponents were much weaker than the survivors i face when i play with my 2 mains. But there are killers with harder powers. When i played doctor for the first time in my life i faced a comp player from Belarus with 11k hours. It was midnight though.
Also, it's hard to exercise with people who abuse your lack of skill and just rush gens and go out, or bully you with special techniques you may not know because you never played this killer. Yea you can just go through that phase but it would be much easier to just add an empty map mode where you can at least exercise nurse blinks or something like that.

They answered this in the recent Q&A stream.
Adding this to the game would require new AI for each killer power. If you used the current AI in the game against the pig, they would die because they are not programmed to be able to remove the RBTs, they are only programmed to work against the trapper. They would have to do this for all 26 killers in the game and for every new killer that gets added.
the bots don't need to do anything, i don't wanna simulate a real match, i just want to get used to the mechanics, which buttons i have to press and how i have to time it. Even if they just make KYF possible with only 1 player, that would be enough already. You could at least get familiar with some movement powers like Nurse, Oni, Blight or Hillbilly. AND you could explore maps like RPD, which would lead to less DCs.

Simply because that's how chase works, you'll know mindgaming is more or less gamble and doesn't work against people who actually good, and looping is pretty much palette tour with no real way to improve.
And since any average SWF can casually crap average (or, little stronger than average) killers thanks to "legitimate" cheat tool called "voice comm", you can only win against people who is bad (unless you use actually decent killers or the bubba).
i actually win more matches than i lose as killer and i'm prety sure i have relatively high MMR on my 2 mains (playing against comp survs here and then). There are some nasty things on survivors side but Otz is right, "the side who brings the most nasty stuff usually wins". I play both sides 50/50 and when i play against a pig with best add ons and Noed and the fitting playstyle (tunneling survivors who just want to get rid of traps), chances are high she will just win. If i play in a team with 2 event toolboxes and 2 ranger medkits, 2 boons, 4 dead hards and 4 DS, chances are high we will win most matches.
Mindgames work if done right, there are some coinflip scenarios but if the survivor doesn't see you they have the same chance of winning as you. So it's fair. Voice comm doesn't do much if you're bad at looping and go down after 10 seconds, Swf's are harder to beat than solos for sure but most swf's are beatable (i rarely play alone nowadays and i still die a lot).
There is a lot of RNG in this game, you can completely destroy one team in a match because of a single mistake by them or just good RNG, and next match you get completely destroyed because of one msitake or bad RNG. It is what it is...
-
Spirit is not as EZ as everyone says, especially for newer players. She's quite hard against actually good survivors who use Iron Will and know what you can see and what not. They will backtrack, walk, do unpredictable stuff. If you're new you will mindgame yourself a lot. They can also hear you phasing now (she got nerfed some months ago) so pallets are generally more dangerous than before because they can stun you on reaction and you have to keep in mind that they could suddenly change directions when they hear you're phasing near them. If they run Iron Will they actually are the ones in control now. BUT... if you put the time into her and get some general game sense/ survivor movement predictions, it will pay off. But i think she is a killer who shines especially when you're already experienced in the game
Oni is also very strong and once you mastered the mechanical part of his ability (flicking) he is not much weaker than Spirit. I personally never cared much for him though.
-
i don't remember ever having reached tier 3, tier 1 often but 3? never.
-
nothing against Dowsey but everyone who plays this game regularly should know that 10% is way to high of a number. I've seen hackers and cheaters (had one today morning) but it's maybe 1 every 20 matches.
-
Don't hesitate to throw pallets, it's the only thing that works reliably against a very good blight. If your teammates do gens, then there should be enough pallets on most maps.
If you play against mediocre Blights, you can play a lil bit like against a Nurse, make sudden direction changes, or try and glitch his first bump (he can't hit you before his first bump), if you run away keep in mind his "lunge" is huge, he walks like 3 metres before he hits so make sure you have enough distance if you run around a car or something like that.

Play killer more and you’ll understand why. I’m not saying you’ll start doing it yourself, but you’ll definitely get it.
i play killer myself and i don't get a lot of those things. I get it when you tunnel or camp in a close game because you need a kill at one gen left or someone is close to dying. But i don't get killers who play sweaty AF in an already won game, when i see the survivors are struggling i go for 12 hooks so everyone has a chance of getting enough BP and have a good time. I don't slug for the 4k because i don't give a **** about my MMR rating or the 4k, i know i have won the game already and that is what counts for me. If they get hatch fine for them, we have another happy survivor who won't be toxic next game.

Maybe read better next time. it's about the desperation and the ways they're willing to go, slugging for 2 minutes just to find the 4th one even though they already won, or camp in situations where they have already the upper hand. That's your typical depserate killer main who let's out his anger on survivors who are also just humans. The equivalent of this would be survivors who don't go out just to bully the killer some more.
-
i tried the new "meta" build (Boil Over, FlipFlop, Unbreakable, Tenacity) and it's kinda useless in most situations when you play solo.
It shines when you have a friend who runs Breakout or Saboteur, but other than that you have to completely adjust your playstyle, run to corners and stuff and even then, if they don't fall down it does nearly nothing
-
i think the same when i play solo survivor and get mindlessly tunneled out even though my mates try to take a hit or something.
And honestly, Boil over is not that crazy as people make it out to be. It's very strong in a swf with Breakout, Saboteur and stuff, but alone it's not that OP (i tried it out myself). At least not against decent killers. If they run to spots where you have to fall down, just slug them. They only have Unbreakable once and it pressures them off the gens. I had a match where 2 guys were running to the upper floors of main building (Asylum) everytime and after i realized what's going on i just left them and tunneled the other 2 guys. Their team fell soon apart.

You can basically take the game hostage and not only win, but force the killer to AFK or DC. With a little bit of coordination, it's literally impossible to hook anyone or keep them slugged.
Until this is fixed, as well as the ridiculous disparity in BP gains from the new event (which honestly needs to be retrospective for me to be happy about any changes made now, survivors get double what the killer does, if not more) I'm honestly not at home to any balance complaints from survivors right now.
That may sound mean, but it is what it is.
no you can't force the killer to DC, it's annoying yea but you can just let them bleed out or slug them.

That only works with a smart solo Q team. Or with decent friends. And even so the killer can just slug, or ignore you and take out the team. And even if the whole team has the same idea they are a basically most likely what I would call a "goofy squad". They just plan on messing with the killer and throwing the game.
that's right, i faced sabo squads myself recently (it's kinda "in" again) and they're quite annoying, but they're only dangerous when it's done in moderation (2 on gens, 2 sabo or so). Most of the time their gen speed is quite slow. Rusher-squads who split up and break possible 3-gens around the map are much more dangerous.
-
Honestly those new stats look much more balanced than the old ones i saw. We have some outliers but in general it looks fine. Of course those are not detailled enough, as they already said Twins are a good pick in high tier and tournaments etc as they are very strong in the right hands. I think the same goes for Trickster, if you play him territorial then he's not that weak. Pig on the other side is carried by add ons a lot.
The only problem i have is that this is mostly because of the "powercreep" (Killers get a lot of buffs, then they introduce boons to balance high kill rates, now they introduced new Scourge hook and deadlock to counter this again) which is going on in this game since some time

Sometimes. It doesn't necessarily address fundamental problems with why something isn't fun, however, and if that's tied into the community atmosphere and patch cycle, then it just turns into not playing, which is where the death spiral comes in.
When you get threads like this from long-time players at a rate of... what, one a week or so, on a small sample size of the official forums? It's a warning sign that something might be wrong with the game, not the attitude of the players.

Its a unique game. Most assymetrical pvp games failed hard. Either because they tried to cash grab to much or because the balancing took a horrible turn and one side stopped playing.
Now that i think of it. DbD is taking this same way...
Honestly i'm reading stuff like this since i joined Dbd over 2 years ago. People quitting Dbd and making a thread about it exists since i joined the forums and i don't see anything special right now. I don't mind it and i get why people want to talk about it when it was a big part of their life.
But I remember when Ruin + Old Undying was a thing and everyone said survivors gonna leave and the game is dying. I remember when old Spirit and cheap Freddy was a thing, when maps got adjusted and later reworked for the first time and people said the game will die. The amount of times killer mains said "the game will die, all killers are leaving" in the past 2 years isn't even countable, like literally every chapter there was something people argued about. The arguments just get repeated every time. I remember there even were graphs and charts about steam players leaving like 1 year ago or so, turns out it was just a phase.
Yea the game lost some players recently but it's still on the level of 2020 and nearly on the level of the time afterwards. Maybe the spike in last summer was just a boost by RE fans who then left after realizing this game isn't even close to RE in terms of gameplay. Maybe its just a natural thing, when you're making changes to some 6 year old game which people got already bored of a bit, and the changes aren't that healthy (SBMM), then it's normal some players leave.
I'm in no way defending this game or BHVRs decisions but i would be careful with assumptions that this game is dying, i mean it could be but there were also many times were it came back stronger

Even if I took a break, it wouldn't really change anything. My matches would still be ######### on both sides. Maybe my tolerance of them would be higher, but that wouldn't change the nature of the game.
The fundamental issues I have with the game are unlikely to be resolved.
i think that's were a lot of the problems and toxicity with this game root - being competitive in Dbd. I'm also competitive, right now i'm even playing in a tournament, but what i learned over time (and what i could see from comparing it to other games i played) is that this game isn't meant to be competitive or played solely to win, there is just too much imbalance even at it's core. There is so much RNG and power abuse from each side and people seem to like it like some strange masochistic urge. I'm not good at taking losses but Dbd makes it worse by giving me the feeling i get humiliated and that the other side often times didn't deserve to win, they just "wanted it more" and brought the better perks and items and add ons. I know that's not always true but this is the feeling many people get i think.

Yes, that's what Add ons are supposed to do. Give you an edge? If you're getting beaten by a Mediocre blight then he was by no means mediocre after all since he is getting hits in to get full value out of his add on. Sounds like the survivor was the mediocre one in that trial.
The counterplay is just leave loop on his Techs not his entire playstyle mate. His general playstyle is all about positioning and figuring out what he can and can't do his with his bump logic.
like i said, getting hits with Blight can be tricky but there are many situations were its not that hard and the survivor has nothing to work with except running around rocks, and while there are insane Blights out there the vast majority you see in pub matches is mediocre. Nearly everyone i personally know in Dbd, and some of them have multiple thousand hours, says that Alchemist Ring is overpowered. In a tournament i recently played it was forbidden. There is no such add on for any other s- or a-tier killer.
-
nah it's overpowered and boosts many mediocre Blights. On a good Blight it's almost braindead, not every Blight rush hit is like super skillful or hard to get. And a good Blight doesn't have that much counterplay actually. I've played against some in kyf's and his synergy with some perks and playstyles is just dumb. Don't get me wrong i'm fine with facing Blights as long as it is not every second match, but the counterplay is not as easy as "just leave loop lol".

It basically negates certain playstyles like hit & run and killers which rely on having people injured most of the time like Wraith, it also made perks like Sloppy or Nurses Calling much worse.
The heal speed is way too fast imo and the blessing time is nothing compared to the value survivors get out of it once it's there. There were games where i healed like 7 times on a single boon totem.

Bloodwarden is a meme and nothing more. It rarely works against decent survivors, they only open the gates if they now they're save.
No Way Out can be worth it in an endgame build with Noed or something like that, many people like it but i personally don't think it's that ultra strong. Survivors can just stealth it out.
Ruin Undying is very strong because it gives you a good early game (it's a gamble and if they find the totems super fast you're screwed), it will be cleansed eventually but while survivors are searching for it you can chase and hook and pressure. That's one of the reason those perks work, it doesn't has to stay until the end of the game.
I don't know about Slinger and Clown but if you just abandon 2 outlying gens it should still work. I guess something like Resonance of Pain + Pop should also work on them.
-
Artist is very strong, one of the strongest killers in the game. She is not easy to play and not someone you will immediately 4k every match, but she's also not super hard to master like Nurse, i would say even Spirit is harder because of the mindgames and 50/50 the survivors have against you. But i've seen very strong, multiple thousand hours killers doing very good with her. I've scrimmed against those with my team, counterplay is nearly no existent in some situations. Artist in some loops is just braindead.
People always complained they want a new Spirit or Nurse, and here she is. Maybe not quite as Strong but definitely high A, low S tier.
And the perks? Resonance of Pain with Pop is already the new meta, 40% regression is huge and most public players don't know the counterplay yet (let go of gen before hooking and then let it regress if you're sure shes coming to pop it).
The chapter definitely shook up the killer meta, the chapter before (Mikaela) the survivor meta. Is it powercreeping? Yes definitely, the difference between the old M1 killers and new anti loop killers has become huge and Boons are so much stronger than something like Botany...

It seems like everyone is facing a lot of Spirits except for you.
i rarely see her too. Everyone in EU is just playing Blight and Nurse and then some Bubba, Huntress and Artist sprinkled in in between

In other words. New comer gets boosted, veteran gets boosted (since he is better looper then a killer in chases). Everybody is eventually high mmr.
from my own experience with these kind of matches, the newbie gets tunneled out in 2 minutes and the killer wins. The only option you have is to hide the newbie as good as you can and take aggro and hope he is doing gens...
-
i started playing her again for the first time since her nerf and it feels much harder, i lose much more games.
Missing with her power is easier now since good survivors know from which direction you're coming from, getting pallet stunned out of your power is more common now if you're not careful, so survivors can just camp pallets mindlessly. Mindgames are harder since they know you're coming for them and not for someone else - jumpscare moments are rarer therefore. And since you're 110% chasing without power is punishing.
The lack of good green add ons makes her also feel a bit more sluggish. Not saying she's bad, i guess if you play her for a living the nerf won't hurt you, but a good team can destroy you since she's much more punishing now if you missplay multiple times.
She also barely has map pressure since you can't use your power for that because you need it in chase. Except you're using that one pair of addons...

the problem is tunneling and camping, i'm saying for a long time we need something like DS and BT basekit and then balance the game around this. It would solve a lot of toxicity. I'm sure a lot of the killer doesn't want to play like this but whenever i do i feel like i have to against a decent team in order to win.
It's way too strong in pub matches against solos.

Not true. They are easy to deal with, but survivors are altruistic to a fault. They can roll a killer and still get team wiped during EGC because they refuse to let the single hook go. Lol.
But yes, tunneling and camping are the second strongest tool a killer has. It pales in comparison to the average survivors game sense, however. Let's be real. No sugar coating the truth... We all know I am right.
nah, it's not easy to deal with if you can't communicate and 5 gens aren't done in one camping session. Only because some tournament teams can play around it doesn't mean it's easy to deal with. I play both sides and i know how easy a game is where you tunnel someone out early. It's nearly impossible to lose as killer if you get someone killed at 3 gens
-
I wouldn't say its totally killer sided but most pub matches really are depending on the killers mood and playstyle. If he decides to bring his best possible loadout and then plays like a scumbag, he will surely win. DS isn't on everyone anymore and whenever i play really cheesy as killer, i usually win.
Depends on the killer though, there are surely high differences between the weaker M1-only and the S-tier killers like Blight, Artist and Nurse, but i think most killers can do fine in most pub matches. The new meta (Scourge Hook + Pop + Deadlock + No Way Out) really helps and is defiintely as strong as boon healing totems. I played in a tournament lately and killers there did just fine (it had specific rules though).
Solo is still hell, killers have enough tools and tactics to make profit out of a disorganized team.

You don't need to study rocket science to know that this combo is overpowered as hell in the hands of a reasonably good artist player in your usual public matches. Anyone with a descent amount of hours, who actually knows that you can win this game with either side and has a non-biased view on the current balance state should see this. The way you worded this just screams "killer main who wins 4 out of 5 matches but then complains about that 1 game where you actually don't 4k with Blight/ Nurse/ Artist"
-
- you had bad perks, like REALLY bad perks. Don't expect to win with those if SBMM is working and matching you with people who are a challenge for you
- it's nearly impossible that this game was over after 5 minutes, considering the BP. I've seen a lot games where survivors were just splitting up on gens against a killer who had no pressure at all and ending the game in 5 minutes. Those survivors never have more than 20k BP and the same goes for the killer. In matches like this i often do not have more than 15k BP, doesn't matter on which side i play. You defintely had some hooks and some survivors were unhooking, healing etc., so there is nothing really to complain about, you just lost.

I don’t understand Twins over Spirit at all. Spirit moves so much faster and is way more time efficient than Twins.
From my personal experiences, i think that Spirit is much more punishing to play now after her nerf. Depends on the add ons, but if you use her power for travelling than you won't have your power back in chase very fast. Being 110% is very punishing against good survivors, so you shouldn't miss with her power. Very good Spirits are still a threat though.
Twins are very strong if you play them nasty, which means boring. Territorial playstyles which involve camping often work very well in public matches and against Twins you're often injured. If they play with a lot of slugging, you're already dead if you're not on comms and play coordinated.
