I think at this point the game really needs a dynamic game director like Left4Dead or something. When things are somewhat a fun and balanced game like "chase, down, hook, 1st gen done, chase, down, hook, 2nd gen done, ..." then it does nothing, but if the survivors split up and after your first down 3 gens pop, then The Entity does some stuff like blocking gens or destroying palettes or blocking vaults (maybe even semi permanent) or whatever.
Same thing if the killer gets 3 hooks before one gen is done and the survivors are just running around like headless chickens The Entity gives them a repair buff or repairs destroyed palettes or closes a breakable wall or spawns a health kit suspiciously in the corner some survivor wanted to hide in.
Stompy games are seldom fun, its the somewhat. This is at least something that could be done with the current engine. Many suggested something else to be done with the survivors objective, like gathering parts accross the map or sabotaging the killers items or whatever, but the game is probably too far out in its life cycle to tackle anything like this, so we need to work with what we got.
Some people seem to despise catch up mechanics ("why should I be punished for playing well" or even more often "why should THEY be rewarded for playing bad?"), but its really what this game needs, a dynamic way to hinder or ease one sides gameplay during the trial and back again.
excellent idea actually.

I was playing doc and saw the two gens super close on RPD and start laughing. Two gens should not spawn that close ever. Already got Haddonfield! don't need another auto 3 gen map

This game is so killer based its not even funny anymore, the wiggle that everyone was complaining about is because of killer mains, now the survivor mains are suffering because the entire game is killer based.
just enjoy the new buffs and chill my guy. Why are u even crying

Yeah it would be nice to have the hook count. Would prevent people using exact same outfits to bamboozle you.
And I personally would use it to actively avoid tunneling people. Couple of times I've intended to let a surv go and accidentally sacrificed them because they had one more hook than I thought 🥲
i love when u run into a full swf wearing the same gear. u know u in for some $hit lol
-
camping with two hooks perfectly acceptable even from a survivor standpoint. Camping 1 person early on will always be seen as scummy in the eyes of most survivors tho (and i can't blame them)
-
Some funny emotes would go a long way. Help lighten the mood in these super hostel games.
@Distortion_Enjoyer said:
this game would be so much more fun if killer got emotes too and more surv emotes would be great, i'd buy them

No where to hide is extremely strong against stealth! but that just the route perks are heading these days. COH completely destroy hit and run builds, no where to hide make stealth builds useless, it plenty of survivor perks that really hurt hex builds (nobody run hexs but still).
It max efficiency in this meta
Need to know where your target is? NO WHERE TO HIDE
you need info on a gen? COB
need info on your resources and your next route? WOO
Even the new solo q buffs are design to make $hit more efficient.

No. However, if both sides could ban 4 perks it would make the game healthier imo.

Nothing. Green addons are the rarest ones cause of these things clogging up that rarity slot.
There needs to be less green rarity stuff, it's way to oversaturated right now
Understandable but i doubt the devs would ever change these offerings. What unfun for one side is usually fun for the other like running u for 5 gens or very quick downs
Maybe a cap on map offerings so they stop appearing in the web when u have the max amount?? 3 of each map offering being the limit. idk just spit balling here

Make them remove that realm from the matchmaking pool for that game rather then guaranteeing you go to it, reverse it's effects essentially
What would stop survivors from picking and eliminating the very few killer favor maps

Myers is a$$ unless u running his op addons......(which nearly every Myers player does these days)
With the tombstone play with your food build he's arguably the best killer.
-
Just being unfun isn't enough of a reason. The game is full of unfun mechanics. (tunneling, map offering, super safe loops, camping, flashlight blinding at every pallet, etc....)
What could u even replace these offerings with?
-
new meta, old meta, any meta... people will complain no matterwhat. Why would they be in rush to change things knowing this??

Played 12 games today as survivor. Got 5 gens done - 1 time. Escaped - 1 time. I am tired of posting the same things over and over again how the game is from survivor side when all BHVR does is listen to killermains. Good luck - I think it is time for me to go play something where developers dont do everything to nerf you and where I actually can have fun when playing it.
Every other day u see someone crying about solo q or going up against a swf on these forms. All you hear is get good or skill issue. You got two options my man
Even play swf or play killer while u wait for the solo q icon update.
-
2 weeks for killer. For survivor 3weeks. I play about 2 to 3 hours daily (wish i had more free time)
-
i would pick tombstone myers
also when i play wraith the swf flash lighters survivors feel like killers so I'll like to ban them too.
also ban legion
-
"dead hard still op!! NO! eruption is"
im just enjoying the show

They should've buff his basekit ages ago and get rid of those silly op a$$ add ons

Pinhead and Trickster is for me most disgusting. Isn't that what killers tell survivors on how to counter damn near everything hah
I Love when one side suggest a completely useless counter.
COH- "just run shatter hope" not viable
eruption- "just run a team aura reading perk to predict eruption"....... do u even play survivor????

@Tsulan said:
I really baffles me that no one uses this addon. People could mark gens or the aprox position of the killer with it. So the others know what to do.
You better off just using the purple add on to let the team see all the gens track by the map. A good team gonna rotate on gens regardless anyway. The marker aka the ray of light would be better if u could actually distinguish it on command. Instead u gotta mark another spot to get rid of the previous marker. people are confuse by the light most of the time and will just stare at it. I try using the light as a way to tell my team the killer is near me but obviously no one understood what i was trying to convey.
pretty useless in solo q cause of the lack of coordination.
pretty useless in a swf cause of comms.

wanna see something more atrocious than soloq? Play killer aganist competent SWF with a mid tier/low tier killer in maps like the game and garden of joy, then you'll know the meaning of true pain...
Definitely painful! although i win most of my matches on the game regardless of what killer im playing. Garden is nightmare fuel when up against a good swf but honestly my amount bad killer games are nothing compare to my solo q games. I stick to using doctor, wraith and trapper with little to no regression perks. (beside jolts)
-
solo q is where all your hopes and dreams go to die. Endlessly fueling Jimmy third 50 game blight streak
-
i got over 200 different add ons for the map yet i rarely get a map. Maybe 1 every 25 levels....
Currently i have 5 green maps and one rainbow map. $hit silly!!! at least lower the rarity of the green map so i can actually use these add ons.
-
cutting the game off
-
Even get a 4 man swf or just be force to run a hyper focus tool box build. Most high mmr killers run all regression cause they wanna win. They simply will do anything to achieve it including sacrificing their build freedom. They will run COB & ERUPTION on everyone and everything. While Survivors typically wanna run chase extending stuff like windows cause they wanna loop good. If every survivor just commit to a whole gen rush build the 3 gen will not last. The meta is gen rush vs gen regression yet majority of survivors refuse to run a whole build for it. 4 toolboxes in the lobby isn't enough these days (you need a dedicated build for rushing)
Big difference in mentality....survivors prioritize looping cause it fun compare to sitting on a gen. Killers rather minimize the risk of chasing and prioritize regression cause they wanna Win. Can't blame them.
-
trickster, legion, and tombstone Myers
-
More stressful playing survivor to me. I Mainly play killer to vibe out and still usally win 80% of my matches. Which is a nice change of pace giving how terrible my solo q record been lately. I feel whatever side u main will probably be more stressful to u.
-
Do u really wanna make these offerings away to avoid maps? Survivors will just ban the very few killer favor maps every game.
map offerings are mainly use by survivors trying to have fun and sweatlords who wanna advantage. BOTH sides got their own semi dirty ways of playing.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/360802/so-what-realm-we-sending-them-boys-to-now
Badham (every version is bad for killer) and Garden of Joy are two maps that need complete reworks.
You know how Dead dawg has a natural 3-4 gen setup? Well Garden pretty much has a "U" shape for the generators which is generally a natural reverse 3 gen (Y gen as my friend calls it).
Both of these tilesets should be just under 9000m² in order to be fair. Garden needs to have 1 safe window in main that can either be the upstairs window by the generator or the downstairs window that can be looped by the pallet on the building's exterior side. There should never be more vaultable safe windows. The rear window at the back of the hose needs to be completely deleted forever.
I know many streamers whose game crashes whenever a SWF sends them to that map.
midwich as well.

I would remove Snares + Pallets and give him a different Anti-Loop + several Addons NEEDS TO GET ADRESSED.
He is currently a weaker version of Clown, Sadako and Dredge all coming together. He has reached the bottom of everyones tierlists and thats deserved.
D-Tier, absolutely no chance someone would put him at least in C-Tier in his current state. I would say bottom 3 (same like his Pickrate btw.)
On top of this he has TERRIBLY BAD Addons.
definitely bottom 3. no debate about it
His anti loop is weak and u gotta have them in the dream world just to use it.

I feel lile a lot of issues would be solved if survivors were able to DC without penalty ifa teammate DC'd in the first minute(s) of the game.
Right now, games with DCs do not count towards official killrates stats. But games with a survivor DC is most of the time going to be steamrolled by killer.
This leaves survivors with a conflicting feeling that they don't escape half as much as they're supposed to according to official stats, and it amps up the sweat and the indignation towards killers, who're seen as too powerful because they die too often.
Because sure, the game gets boring as killer in a 3v1 (for some), but at least they're guaranteed kills, pretty much. So morale is still up.
If the game is "not gonna count", I don't want to die and lose my item. I want to be able to leave the match like it happens when killers DC.
Definitely need to be some option to just forfeit after a dc. Once a teammate dc at the start the match is already lost.. The kill rates probably close to 70% honestly. Can't go 4 to 5 games without someone leaving for one reason or another.
-
when I'm playing killer
It definitely lucky break. Half the time they just disappear right infront of me with no scratch marks to follow (I'm left looking dumbfounded)
As survivor
Noed by far. You kicking someone a$$ all match and bam noed activate....and u die

RPD lol....good one

stake out terrible and mainly a gimmick. Unable to gain stacks consistently on most killers without just flat out following them all game and throwing. Hyper focus is good but rarely use. This is the boogeyman combo that killers are so afraid of but almost never see. Scott and few other big youtubers keep this "hyper focus broken" narrative alive. Almost nobody use it.

Me and my dad decided to try and conceptualize what The Thing would look like in DBD, and this is what we came up with. Includes a new survivor, new perks for both killer and survivor, some addons for the killer’s power, and even quotes! Enjoy :D
DBD: The Thing Chapter
New Map: Outpost 31, Antarctica
New Killer: The Thing
Appearance: Mutated form of a Husky. Has some normal husky bits, and some very not normal husky bits.
Terror Radius: 32 meters
Movement Speed: 4.4 m/s
Power: Assimilation
SPECIAL ABILITY: Morph
At the beginning of the trial, The Thing spawns as a random survivor present, including any cosmetics and charms they may have equipped. While in survivor form, The Thing gains the undetectable status effect, moves at survivor speed (4.0 m/s), and the camera is shifted to third person. The Thing can perform most actions that a survivor can while in survivor form, including repairing generators, healing other survivors, vaulting pallets, and hiding in lockers. The Thing cannot perform skill checks, and does not gain the ability to use the perks of the survivor it transforms into. The Thing can exit and enter the Morph state at any time, taking the form of another, random survivor each time, living or dead. Exiting the Morph state is immediate, while entering the Morph state takes 3 seconds.
SPECIAL ATTACK: Sabotage
After performing a cooperative action for 5 seconds, the prompt to Sabotage will appear. Hitting the Active Ability Button will injure one survivor participating in the cooperative action for a single health state, and in the case of generators, also start regressing them with an immediate 5% penalty.
SPECIAL ABILITY: Seek Warmth
While standing still, The Thing can choose to burrow into the ground and move to within 8 meters of a chosen generator outside of its terror radius. Takes 4 seconds to activate, and can be cancelled at any time. When first activated, The Thing’s terror radius expands an additional 8 meters before returning to normal. When appearing next to a generator, The Thing gains the undetectable status effect for a short time period, but nearby survivors can hear it appear. The Thing can Morph while undetectable after teleporting.
“I know I’m human. And if you were all these ‘things,’ then you’d just attack me right now. So some of you are still human. This ‘thing’ doesn’t want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation. It’ll fight if it has to, but it’s vulnerable out in the open. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies. Nobody left to kill it. And then it’s one. There’s a storm hitting in 6 hours. And we’re gonna find out who’s who.” - J.R. Macready
ADDONS:
Gristle in the Gears
You’ve learned how their technology works, and thus how to properly break it.
Increases the initial Sabotage generator penalty an additional 5%.
“The generator’s gone.”
“Any way we can fix it?”
“I said it’s gone, Macready.”
Blood Sample
The blood of one of the humans at the outpost, taken after sabotaging the blood bank.
- The Thing can no longer morph into dead survivors.
“I know you gentlemen have been through a lot. But when you find the time, I’d rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS ######### COUCH!” - Garry
Serrated Claws
Using the DNA of an alien life long forgotten, you can make your weapons much more efficient at pacifying new specimen.
- Survivors injured by Sabotage are inflicted with Deep Wound.
“Oh, you’ve gotta be #########’ kidding me.”
Slick Secretions
Through your own natural lubricant, you move faster and quieter through tight spaces.
- Increases the speed of Warmth Seeking by 10%.
- Renders the appearance from Warmth Seeking completely silent.
“If we’ve got any surprises for each other, I don’t think we’re in much shape to do anything about it.”
Tooth Filling
You don’t know why they had these, but it’s unimportant now.
- Decreases the time it takes to Morph by 1 second.
“So, I’m going to die because I floss?”
Torn Long-Johns
One of the crewmate’s long-johns, torn to shreds after an attack.
- Decreases the time required to activate Sabotage by 2 seconds.
Canine Tooth
A tooth replicated from a hound.
- Survivors injured by Sabotage are inflicted with Mangled until fully healed.
Spaceship Part
Part of the makeshift spaceship built under the shack, with help from one Dr. Blair.
- After Sabotaging a generator, if survivors do not repair it within 30 seconds, the generator slowly regresses faster, up to a maximum of 75% faster.
Burnt Split-Head Corpse
The charred remains of Edvard and Adam. Useful, even after death.
- Increases The Thing’s movement speed to 4.6 m/s while not Morphed.
- Increases the time required to Seek Warmth by 2 seconds.
PERKS
Acquired Taste
Once assimilated, you acquire all of the knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses of your specimen.
Upon attacking a Survivor, any time that survivors aura appears, the duration is increased for an additional 3/4/5 seconds. This effect is applied to the last 2/3/4 survivors hit until they are fully healed to the healthy state.
Localized Heartbeat
Through the use of multiple alien’s DNA, your hearing capabilities have increased hundred-fold.
Survivors within 6 meters of each other, after 10 seconds, will activate Killer Instinct every 20 seconds, with an additional 3/4/5 seconds removed for every other survivor present.
“Se til helvete og kom dere vekk! Det er ikke en bikkje, det er en slags ting! Det imiterer en bikkje, det er ikke virkelig! KOM DERE VEKK, IDIOTER!”
Elimination Protocol
When being discovered, eliminating those who know is the number one priority.
Upon starting chase, immediately enter Bloodlust Tier I. Increases the time it takes to enter Bloodlust Tier II by 9/6/3 seconds, and completely disables Bloodlust Tier III.
Increases the effect of Bloodlust by 0.1 m/s.
“I dunno what the hell’s in there, but it’s weird and pissed off, whatever it is.” - Clark
New Survivor: R.J. Macready
PERKS
Alcoholism
An attempt to make a boring lifestyle more exciting turned into an unhealthy addiction.
Upon entering the dying state, Alcoholism activates. Press Active Ability Button 1 to use Alcoholism and immediately pick yourself up from the dying state. After 8/9/10 seconds, you enter the dying state again. The timer is paused while performing healing actions. Alcoholism has a cooldown of 120/90/60 seconds. The cooldown timer is paused while using Alcoholism or when in the dying state.
“Cheating #########…” - R.J. Macready
Flamethrower
After some previous experiences, you’ve learned that fire is a solution to most problems.
This perk starts the trial with 0 tokens.
While this perk is active, you start the trial with the Flamethrower item pre-equipped. It can be swapped out with any other item at any time. Only those with the Flamethrower perk equipped can pick up the Flamethrower item.
Rummage through an opened chest to gain 1 token, up to a maximum of 1/2/3. You can only rummage once per chest, and once all chests have been rummaged through, you can no longer gain tokens.
Activating Flamethrower takes 1 second, and uses up a single token. While Flamethrower is activated:
- Used in the same way as a flashlight.
- Spawns a cone of fire with a short range in front of you.
- Stuns the killer immediately upon contact.
- Uses up a token every 2 seconds it is active.
If Flamethrower is used to stun a killer carrying a survivor, that survivor is inflicted with Deep Wound and Hindered for 10 seconds. Y’know, because fire hurts.
“Yeah, ######### you too!” - R.J. Macready
[note: Flamethrower is literally just an aerosol can and a lighter.]
Suspicion
Doubting others and keeping your guard up has kept you alive so far.
Whenever the killer is in a range of 8/12/16 meters from you, regardless of undetectable or oblivious status effects, this perk activates, and gives an auditory warning. This perk has a cooldown of 45 seconds.
“How long were you alone with that dog?”
____________________________________________
The names are up for debate, but I'm pretty proud of most of them. Also, before anyone asks, the main purpose of "Elimination Protocol" is to make "Beast of Prey" at least a little useful.
Any and all criticism is welcome!
fire concept actually. i would like to see some sort of imposters type killer (not among us)

1st game today: Wesker hard proxy camps 1st hook. Teammate tries to rescue he downs them and leaves them slugged near hook. Continues to guard both. I try to pick one up off the ground and get downed. 4th teammate doesn’t even help. I took my 4% chances and left.
2nd game: Clown face camps first hook from about 10 meters away. I go in for save and he has pinky finger and downs me 1 hit. 4%s and out.
3rd game: Bubba. I save teammate from 1st hook by body blocking until drop. He chases me and downs me after his chainsaw hits the window edge yet he doesn’t rage out saving him time to keep the chase way tighter than it should have been. He leaves but no one comes for me so I go to struggle. After save he downs them quickly 1 after another since they all hook dive and hand him the game.
4th game: Wraith overpursues a Dwight most of the game while the team actually does gens. It turns into the facecamp endgame where we save Dwight but all take turns on the hook. I get the short straw and die while the other 3 escape.
When the majority of my games are like this… I’m not unique. It must be the case that most solo games are like this and that’s mostly borne out in these forums. This game masquerades as an asymmetrical yet fair game when it’s nothing of the sort. It’s terrible matchmaking that makes most games unfair from the start and the killer player with the ability to skew the game even more heavily in their favor by their choice of build and tactics. I’ve severely reduced my time in this game and now mostly play SWF unless I just feel like playing regardless of the extreme likelihood of losing.
Camping and tunneling is the easiest way to pressure the team which is why people do it. U need pressure
If u Losing? camp your next hook which will force at least two people off gens if they wanna save. Otherwise one person will just get grab trying to unhook. Being in these scenario over and over may reinforce how helpless u can be playing solo q (simply lack coordination). But In a swf u can actually pressure the other side back consistently through swarming with flashlights, sabo plays, and body blocking. Now u got the killer looking over his/her shoulder circling areas trying to secure a pick up. Continue to play in your swf my guy. Survivors getting new icons soon!! maybe u can return to solo afterwards
-
With a terrible causal swf i got 10 (rarely ever play swf tho)
In solo q 5 (i don't even see how this is fair lol)
just started playing killer 3 weeks ago and i win 80% of the time with trapper but never counted my streaks. ( I'll say 8 or 9) sound about right
-
.....this may slightly inconvenience you once in while.

Eruption? If you want to talk about perks carrying people to victories that they don't deserve, let's start with Circle of Healing and Windows of Opportunity. Free infinite fast self healing for an entire team that is very difficult for the killer to even do anything about consistently for 1/16 perks? Totally fun and fair! Information that makes sure you never run to a deadzone and always lets you know where that god pallet is when you need it at endgame that never turns off and always available for literally nothing with zero downsides? Certainly not a crutch at all!
There no downside to COH, COB, Windows, eruption, etc. Most of these perks are easy to apply or activate and they all give insane value the whole trail. Strong perks and add ons will always matter more than skill.
