Just had 2 Trapper games on Hawkins map back to back.
The First game I tunneled and camped, got 3K and nobody tbagged and nobody rly said anything other than something about tunneling.
The Second game, I didn't tunnel anyone, I didn't camp even at end game, I went on purpose for the rescuer every time even tho I had chance to go for easy unhooked person and down them again. I got tbagged from all Survivors at gates , got 0K and felt like a clown.
So this is what you get when you play nice hm? I know not every team will do this, but this isn't uncommon for Survivors to look at you down when you giving them a favor. Overall, it's not worth to play nice when you just get yourself less points, less wins and Survivors will just clown with you anyway.
So keep that in mind when you ask killer why he tunnels/camps etc from the start.
I mean it really no reason to play fair at all. Sympathizing with the other side is maybe the only reason to even slightly hold back. I don't tunnel or camp (that much) because i know the pain of being on the receiving end but the survivors will rarely be grateful. Do it cause u want to do it! don't ever expect them to thank you. They will likely t bag and click click. Every once in while you get the survivors who will lay there toolboxes down at the exit gate as a sign of respect.

A highly situational perk that only work in deep wound which you will have to mend out of eventually
or
a perk that always activated when injure. hmmmm which one is better

So uh, hey, hi, howdy.
So now that Im back, anyone want to kind of get me up to speed with everything that has happened on the Forums? Im sure Ive missed a lot, I know that.
(Just to avoid redundancy; I play the Halloween Event just to quickly grab the items/cosmetics and immediately stopped playing once I got them all; other than that Idk what else has been going on.)
what u miss on the forums? nothing honestly
The same 30 to 40 users with high amount of posts mainly making up most of the threads. No crazy thread that really set the place on fire recently so yeah not much to report
-
According to the last behavior pick rates we are already getting a good diversity of killers.

I think Windows is a strong perk. I see it in a majority of my matches both when I play killer and solo survivor. Generally on at least two survivors, but all players who aren’t me using it isn’t a rare occurrence. So for a perk so ubiquitous in the survivor meta right now, for those who thinks it’s just average can you tell me why I’m wrong to think it’s strong?

@Dustin said:
I just feel the perk makes more sense for the purpose it's supposed to achieve now. I don't really consider it a nerf just an adjustment so the focus is on the original intention of the perk.
you should be behavior pr manager.

i don't see him being 4.6 making it through the ptb. I play trickster so I'm glad he finally getting some love! With that being said....he gonna be broken as hell 😂

roughly about once every 15 to 20 matches

@Ariel_Starshine said:
Like I said in another thread, just make him have unlimited knives. At this point, why not? Or make one knife just down survivors.
He's easy to kite and dodge, but he's the most annoying killer to go against. I absolutely hate him.
He pretty much will have unlimited knives because they didn't change the irl compilation addon. Everytime u waste your main event u get all your knives back. Giving how easy it will be to trigger main event you're never have to reload via locker.
-
The map changes sound good.
MFT got gutted but that what the majority wanted for the most part.
Trickster buff sound good but maybe a bit overkill.
Overall pretty good changes health wise.
-
The perk is extremely situational now. It not garbage but no one will use it after this.

Which is why it is not really mean as completing the page is possible easily.
i think some players just prefer to only play 1 role most of the time. For some of these challenges u gotta have the dlc killer or play survivor in order to reach the end of the tome.

Oof. Just imagining this send me killer instinct into complete topor. You have my cheers that you like the event, but really, this event is so disgustingly unfair for the killers, I couldn't stomach it if it became a permanent fixture.
fair enough! Survivors just camp portals the whole event so i can see why killers don't like the idea of incorporating them permanently. I really feel like they got something here tho. Just have to add some restrictions for survivors and way better benefits for killers.

I don't want it to keep the same purpose, of bringing the haunt into the map, but I think the void is the perfect addition to the game to help the survivor/killer imbalance AND shake up the games a little bit in the same sweep.
The void is a great way to give those non mobile killers a reasonable way to traverse across the map, meaning more diverse killer builds so more fun for everyone, and slows down the game just a bit, so again, less gen slow down perks on killers and more interaction between killer and survivor for more exciting games. I'd change a few things about the void:
-make it so that the survivors know when a killer enters the void, maybe have the portal change color when the killer is coming out so they have a chance to leave a gen if the killer is coming to use pop or something, also opens up mind games with perks like dead lock.
-make the survivors need to pull multiple levers or something instead of the haunt, maybe add a lever every time a gen is completed so the survivors can choose when they want to pull them, also slightly hindering gen rush strats, while adding more mind games on the survivors side, awarding them time to do gens if they can trick the killer into taking the portal
The loops themselves are strong which I think is fine if the void stays this small, but maybe allowing killer powers in exchange for better loops and more space is smart. I'm not sure exactly how to balance this but I really hope this is bhvr testing the waters with a secondary survivor goal/way to help killers weaknesses
DBD events are goated i swear. Always crazy cool mechanic.
The portals, Party pallets, & The instant break anti loop from the anniversary 7 event. I would love to see some this stuff refine and put in the main game.

Average survivors are teletubbies that occasionally look at the screen on their belly.
They see someone on the floor and just run over without a second thought. They didn't hear the noice a survivor makes when knock over but still they gonna run over to help. (Which I appreciate honestly)
clam spirit not that popular

Agreed. It doesn't add anything fun to the gameplay. Don't even get me started on the Dead Dawg L/T wall with the random extension that sticks out at the end. There's too much map clutter
ahh i know that pain lol.
You damn near have to know every loop inside and out or u taking a small chance of getting stuck on something. Weird hit boxes on objects and odd collision on certain structure. DBD map knowledge is crazy! no wonder people need 1000 hours hahaha

its the best anti tunnel method we have, I'm going to use it. If a killer doesn't tunnel I won't be sweaty and use it, but the second a killer starts tunneling i'm ready to try and make the killer regret it. I recognize that I'm just one person but ftp + buckle up doesn't need changes until bhvr addresses tunneling which should've been addressed before camping.
Cant we just amit it total bs but want it to stay? I definitely want it to stay myself.
Suprise more people not running it. I see it like maybe once every 8 games when I'm playing killer. Its the only good anti tunnel perk in the game! The rest of them fail miserably to actually stop a killer who hard focusing you in solo q. With that being said i think the combo hilariously overpowering. Don't you love when survivors and killers give the exact same excuse on why something fair?
ftp/buckle up
survivor- "people off gens and it very risky"
killer- ...yeah but i loss my down and both survivors got 10 seconds to go anywhere
tunneling
killer- "it very risky and can cost you the game"
survivor- right....so risky to wait 10 sec... is that why everybody do it when they wanna win?

seeing survivors zoom around like blight for 5 seconds is very shocking.

The void realm look marvelous and all the new game mechanics are pretty fun to interact with. I don't think nothing will ever top the 7 year anniversary event but this event been pretty cool so far. Yeah players are sweating... but that just a normal day on dbd.

The "cringe sitting on the hay" literally lasted two weeks, you've been hittable on those haybales for years. they should put the haybales back to being hittable but you don't get full on staggered for dropping off them.
that could work.
-
no more cringe sitting on the hay? Massive W
I kinda feel a bit bad for the survivors tho..the harvester right back to being a terribly weak loop. Can we please open another rancid abattoir window in the main building now.

I'm talking about a different game called IDV, which is a DBD clone. That game has way more pallets than maps in DBD, but killers also tunnel and camp every single game and bring NOED (called detention) which lasts 2 mins. It's pretty common to have 3 gens pop in first chase as there is nothing as strong as regression in DBD to count on and the killer was chasing me for all gens. I was the only one to die.
Just look up the gameplay. Wow it really a baby dbd game out there just running around. Might play it later

So, mft becomes a meme perk, woo becomes one of the worst perks in the entire game and adrenaline gives you exhaustion without giving you a speed boost.🤦
one man trash is another man balance. In dbd perks get gutted and the opposing side nod that it "balance now"

@ProfessorDunwich said:
First impressions.
For the most part fine
Survivors rarely jump off but it does scare the killer enough to keep there distances most of the time. Definitely easier to save in areas with LOS blockers. The survivors can usually sneak around jungle gym type areas and get a easy unhook as the killer respect the 16 meters. For the most part I'm not seeing camping that much unless it basement.

@Boons123 said:
Generators are very boring, nothing interesting about them except that it is the only way to escape , all that happens is just pressing a button and seeing the tape slowly advance
And you keep repeating this thing several times (watching the tape progress slowly) , 7 years have passed and nothing has changed in generators except an increase in repair time, nothing more
I think it's time to do something about it
"The survivors repair the generators very quickly! " This doesn't change anything and I think that's the only fun thing about generators, which is watching the tape progress quickly but it's very little fun
Please we don't want to wait another five years
yeah it kinda dull! just gotta make your own fun.
i use hyper focus in most of my builds just to make gens more interesting. Hitting a large number in row can be very satisfying. I seen a slenderman killer concept on youtube that completely took the focus off of gens. i wish a killer like that would come into the game.

Obviously you just loop the Pig for 5 gens because she's an M1 killer. /s
lolol pretty much
pig my second main behind deathslinger. i don't won't to see her nerf at all. This is more so a complaint about UW making u scream than piggy being op.
"may i offer you a wesker" probably my favorite to go against when paying survivor so yeah why now.

how about learning to loop a m1 killer? reverse bear traps cannot be used if you do not go down. the nerf pig joke cannot be seriously happening.
What do looping got to do with eventually going down and getting stuck in endless cycle of box interruptions?

Lethal is 1-time usage and provides you very similar information (where everyone is at start) - the difference is, that UW gives the information for shorter time and requires you to open locker, but allows you to use it also later in trial. Not to forget that it can't be countered by standard aura-blocking perk that was meta.
On top of it all it has blindness just slapped onto it - and better blindness then what you get from most of the killer addons that causes blindness - this blindness is actually very usable especially against survivor's meta perk (windows of opportunity).
90s cooldown is still IMO too lenient. I personally would go at it in a different way - keep 30s cooldown, but have the perk active for less then 1s - that way you can find (and blind) everyone in close vicinity of locker you decide to open, but you don't get map-wide information about every single survivor whenever you want.
your change don't sound to bad if im being honest. The 90 seconds definitely wouldn't work tho in my opinion. oppression, trail of torment, etc a good effect just doesn't outweigh a massive cooldown.
-
@Melinko said:
All they would need to do is have it last 30 seconds then go on CD for 90 seconds. Would require players to be more selective when they use it versus just spam it on CD.
It's stronger than the Dr.'s power, which is insane. No perk should replace a killer's power.
90 seconds will make this perk hot garbage tho.
-
i don't think UW is op or nothing but man this piggy build is completely stupid.
addons to increase the box search time + UW + hex face the darkness = never being able to remove your trap on a small map or indoor maps. (excluding lery's)
Not that this is something new. Dying in first few minutes to pig traps, myers TS peice, or sadako is a classic stable of solo q.
-
all of dbd maps look pretty good these days outside of the swamp ones

butttt i would love to see the average solo q excape rate. Not a 3 man, 4 man, or even a duo...just a complete solo q lobby.

@cburton311 said:
It may be of interest to ask why they are dc'ing. If you start with the assumption that everyone is looking to enjoy a match, why would someone sit through queue only to dc right away. I promise you it isn't because there was just a killer. These survivors are bearing the trauma of untold previous matches where they had zero fun. They learned the lesson (incorrectly maybe), that their fun is increased if they go next.
IMO this situation has grown to the level it has, because behavior is so slow in identifying problems that compromise the fun of the game for both sides. They only seem to react, when the problem is so large it might threaten the ongoing viability of the game. I'm thinking of the patch where they introduced new animations to survivor and it made juking killers impossible. There was a mass exodus of survivors, and Behavior was damn quick to undo that change.
This is just my own anecdotal evidence but i feel most survivor quit do to killer tactics. I play nearly every killer besides nurse /blight/spirit and on average i get onc dc every 5 games. I mostly go for 12 hooks with little to no tactics and get about 1 dc every 5 matches. Any time i do tunnel or camp the chances of a dc sky rocket significantly.
-
@Hex_Ignored said:
Nurse and blight use this perk extremely well. Once you scream, they are basically already next to you.
Pig can force trap kills with this + face the darkness
Unlike other info perks (bbq/lethal pursuer/floods of rage) you can't really hide from it unless you bring the useless perk calm spirit (which STILL has a downside despite being bad). The killer also has full control over the activation of the perk and the cooldown is pretty short considering how good the perk is. It's so baffling how oppression, a much weaker perk, has an 80 second cooldown, but ultimate weapon only needs 30 seconds.
THE pig traps/ultimate weapon combo is absurdly stupid. Almost TS peice level of sillyness. I think UW ok outside of that.

thanks for the stats. A little shocking pick rate wise

It doesn't matter if you give solo survivors all the information in the world. They will still do stupid stuff. I've recently got caught by a insidious Bubba who camped me in the basement. I hung there on the hook flapping my arms, warning my teammate hey the killer is camping me. Those dumb survivors ran to the basement after a full minute of me waving my arms and all died.
How can bhvr fix that level of stupid?
should be obvious If nobody getting chase for a while or you hearing no TR around the map. Flapping your arms on the hook mean nothing sadly. People do it all the time even when the killer not camping

@ARTRA said:
Wow a good patch notes cant belive it.
Furtive Chase
We initially increased the terror radius reduction for each token, though many still did not find this a very appealing choice. Furtive Chase will be receiving a rework when the update goes live.
When hooking the Obsession, gain Undetectable and a 5% Haste status effect for 14/16/18 seconds. When the Obsession is rescued from the hook, the rescuer becomes the Obsession (unchanged).
With this new version, Furtive Chase rewards the Killer for switching targets and allows them to find a new Survivor to chase more quickly after hooking.
While not OP at least this is actually usefull and can be fun for jumpscares.
Trapper now dont have traps in corners??
Verticality of facecamping fixed for multifloor maps?
Bhvr are you ok? This is good.
You only missed Shattered Square less red but very good over all.
Pretty good changes. Furtive chase could be cool in a obsession changing build now. Not that good for general builds still but a great change. Seeing my survivor teammates run at 200% speed across the world to miss the flashlight save will be funny at least.
