I'm curious about why people DC as survivor when they find out they're facing x killer. Do you DC based on who the killer is, and if so, why?
nurse and blight, not wasting my time when most of the time i'm matched with bad players and have 0 chance of escape.
wesker is getting tedious to play against now also considering its either 2 or 3 in a row or every other killer

They should just change it so that if anyone DC's, killer or survivors, the game ends, everyone get's a 5000 BP quitters bonus, and nobody but the person who DC'd loses a pip or MMR.
my mmr is already ruined I might as well join in
I don't want to waste 10+ minutes in a game vs nurse or blight that is completely one sided so I might as well save myself the time and effort if its allowed.
Same for being matched with complete beginners/awful players that contribute nothing and urban evade in the corner of the map even when you have kindred.... why waste my time in 10+ minute games that i have 0 chance of escaping other than the hatch which gives no MMR LOL
what a state the game is in.

Yeah, same thing with me. That's why I completely stopped playing solo q. I'm a mediocre survivor getting matched with even worse players playing against Ralph and One Pump Willie, dudes playing for a living. Very fun getting slaughtered at 5 gens
i'm getting tired of being matched against streamers with thousands of hours in the game "showing how good they are without perks" when i'm the same as you an average player being matched with complete beginners vs people who play none stop.

Absolutley not, the way they implemented dh validation is what made the perk go from s to triple sss tier last time. If you were a survivor with 70 ping plus you no longer had to time it correctly. It came with deleting killer power instead of someone just having i frames. It's a prediction perk now instead of a free reaction perk. Perk is still s tier most good players agree. Gonna just have to deal with it.
I never had an issue with it before as killer, it was my fault for not baiting/waiting,...
i'm sick and tired of being downed mid animation......
-
@Mondhirsch said:
Same.
Dead Hards Hit validation being Survivor sided was totally fine before they Reworked it.
Especially now when it's so timing heavy (0,5 Seconds before Hit) the Hit validation should be Survivor Sided again since the Survivor has to do the timing part.
it's getting really irritating
like you say the timing has to be perfect but you're having to press it earlier when the killer has a bad connection which is then easy for the killer to avoid.
i'm all for the dead hard change but this ontop of the nerf is too much.

You know he has to aim at you in order for that to happen? Normal chain hunt always spawns next to you.
It's rewarding a good shot with allready pretty meh chase power.
he doesen't have to aim it though .... if the survivor is infront of him within a certain range he can spawn it right on top of them and there's no dodging it, I do it when I have cenobite dailys.

@Seraphor said:
Nah just bring Sole Survivor and start to play cautiously when you're down to 2 survivors.
Pretty sure "hit 2 survivors with the same Corrupt Purge twice" is far harder than that.
ahhh so in a team game ignore the team and just hope to get the hatch at the end, gotcha, perfectly designed game :D
-
@Laluzi said:
It's not a bug. The blocker goes up so that he can slam you against it, but it lingers for a few seconds. He's a killer like Twins or Deathslinger where it's better to bail than it is to do anything saucy or daring at the gates.
Really sucks to have that happen after a bad string of games, though. I feel you... you finally get a match where you make it to the end and then something dumb happens.
i'm beyond sick of it
solo survivor i'm constantly matched with bad players that can't stay up for more than 10 seconds vs m1 killers, 5 or 6 games in a row dead and the one game i'm about to escape I don't because of them adding "features" without actually stating that its a feature :./
-
why put a feature into the game without actually putting it in the text :/ if I knew that I wouldnt have lined up for it.

Two stacks of STBFL is next to nothing and is not even a full perk.
1 tier of brutal strength is next to nothing and is not even a full perk.
10 seconds on gens literally doesn't help now that survivors have hyperfocus because gens are actually FASTER than before.
have you looked at the win% for killer at the moment .... and the win% of survivors (which also takes into consideration SWF).... pretty much proves that you're just whining ?
-
now vs a blight that got 3 knockdowns in less than 2 minutes, think that's enough until they fix this.
-
6 out of 7 games a survivor going down in less than a minute, 1 of the games a survivor went down TWICE in 1 minute 30 .... absolute joke
-
Show people's perk load out before the game starts, I have no idea why it doesn't anyway?
Icon showing what other survivors are doing
Base kindred for all survivors (this won't make much of a difference for SWF but for solo survivors it will help)
all of this would help but it doesn't look like they're interested.
anyone that says solo is fine and they're escaping most of the time is either A. lying, B.urban evading until they find the hatch. or C. somehow matching 99% of the time with good players.
If you match vs a good killer now and you're not SWF you can pretty much guarantee you're going to lose. It's beyond frustrating when you loop a killer for 2 or 3 gens , he gives up and instantly downs a different survivor within 20 seconds because you've been matched with a beginner ontop of it already being an up hill battle
-
@scenekiller said:
The standards for increasing your mmr are arbitrary at best. This is exactly why the people who negate any thread with "skill issue/you must be low mmr" have no intelligent argument to stand on.
If you run the killer for 5 gens and your teammates make no effort to save you, dying at the hands of your teammates does not suddenly evaporate any of your skill, just as standing in a corner all match doing nothing and walking through the exit gates does not give you skill.
according to the developers it does though ... it's not skill unless you ignore your team mate on hook and just leave through the exit gate. what a joke
-
@dugman said:
The only stubborn thing is the people that refuse to accept that the current MMR ratings are actually accurate. When MMRs in a match are close the match tends to be close, it’s really only when the matchmaking algorithm ignores the ratings that you get obvious mismatches. This was evidenced for example when they did MMR tests earlier this year and the nights that had the “sweatiest” tightest matches were the ones with the narrowest allowed MMR ranges and the most anarchic ridiculous matchups were the ones that were free for all or that used Grades instead of MMR.
Using kills and escapes to determine if players go up or down in MMR works, it’s fine. It’s how the matchmaking application uses or decides to ignore those ratings that causes problems.
Using escapes to judge mmr isn't fine..... I could loop the killer for 5 gens then get hooked as a survivor opens the gate and leaves and I lose mmr ?? Even though I did a the work for them to escape ? It's beyond stupid and just encourages people to leave rather than trying to help their team
-
@Seraphor said:
It's actually not a bad system, for killers. Number of kills when averaged over the course of dozens of games isn't too far off being a decent gauge of skill.
For survivors however it's too unreliable. An escape isn't necessarily earned and a death isn't necessarily your fault.
The idea of having survivors share MMR gains for a game wouldn't be too bad, but the problem is how you to factor in the escape of another survivor in your game if you died first and leave it to queue for another game before they escape?
the current system for survivors is just awful, you're telling me the gate is open all 4 survivors are alive but 1 is on his first hook (the rest have had 1 hook)
according to the developers you're better off leaving that survivor and not even trying to save them as a team because you'll be punished if you fail but 0 reward if you succeed ? LOL how bad is that ? that's literally just what happened to me
-
@Bot_Salvo88 said:
They said that
"MMR is based on kills and Escapes. Kills and escapes are proxy for skill."
"Let's say that as killer you hook every survivor twice but none of them died. Should your MMR go up? Probably not."
"As survivor, you looped the killer for 5 gens but then you get caught and the others escape leaving you on the hook: wouldn't be nice if you do all of that and still escape?"
This is all I can remember.
i thought they compared it to scoring a goal in hockey or something stupid like that
-
Maybe the match making is part of the problem but still, they are balancing the game around a SWF group that are extremely co-ordinated. I stand by the fact that the system should make gens longer to complete when it knows it's a SWF group to help balance it rather than nerfing survivor perks and making gen times longer (what about nurse and blight that people kill themselves on first hook for BEFORE these changes?)
Again the changes at the moment are just helping killers that camp and tunnel, you have to AFK on gens for longer when the urban evading survivors are doing nothing ... People getting frustrated with killers like Nurse and blight which are pretty much an auto loss if you aren't in a SWF group.
I couldn't believe that it's actually got worse, tried a few games this morning and it was exactly the same so i'm back to uninstalling for now, maybe i'll try in a few months.
-
This happens because if the Blight is even half good there is no way the solo survivors are going to win, so instead of wasting their time vs a blight they just leave.
See loads of streamers choosing blight/nurse etc and they're "challenging" themselves by staying afk for the first 3 minutes or something stupid like that then starting the game with a disadvantage.
It's not that they're good.... it's the fact that the game is heavily favoured to play as SWF otherwise you don't stand a chance.
-
I'm sure this was all needed for SWF but for solo survivor it's even more toxic than normal.

The system doesn't judge how good you are. It just measures how often you manage to escape. It cares not how you managed to escape. What you draw from that inference is your own.
exactly my point, if i get matched with awful survivors that haven't had many games vs a killer thats had 1000's of hours in the game i have much less chance of escaping simply by the design of the game ...
maybe I should think of it more like hockey 😄

-
@OldHunterLight said:
Clearly you looping is not skillful at all, nope since the urban evader escaped then they are simply just better than you CLEARLY you didn't help your teammates get gens done since you were being chased for 3 gens and ended up dying so you are the bad player what can we say.
if you think someone urban evading around the map not doing generators and then luckily taking the hatch that spawned near them is more skilled than looping the killer while the rest of the team do 3 generators then you're as bad as the dev's
-
@Krazzik said:
If you died and the Urban Evader didn't, were you -really- better than them?
i hope this is a joke 🤣 the urban evader did nothing for most of the game hiding, hardly touched a gen. I looped the killer for the length of time for the other 2 survivors to do gens which is contributing. If you honestly think that it makes them a better player because they hid the entire game and escaped while i took the chase then i'm lost for words.

they won't change anything, i had this for 2 years with an old laptop , the killer triggers blood lust LAG, you drop a pallet LAG
they did nothing , it's only when i got a new pc it stopped (and my old one wasn't bad)

update, i've turned crossplay off so i'm not matched with console players and it's a different game, all PC survivors that know what they're doing, i've no doubt 'some' console players do but this is night and day match making.

Well, I'm sure the community would be glad if you took those 24h bans
if the killers slugging you on floor because you're the only decent survivor so he can get a 4 kill why should you be forced to sit there doing nothing for 4/5 minutes because the match making has put you with players that either don't attempt to save you or do it right infront of the killer ? it's backwards, i don't understand why the killer is allowed to be toxic and camp/slug/tunnell but if a survivor doesn't want to put up with that we're punished? lol

@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
The matchmaking system is garbage yeah, but removing the DC penalty would only make the game worse. You'd see 2 DC's every game, making it even more unplayable
Until they fix this horrible system i'm happy to just D/C and not play for 24 hours, if they aren't going to listen to players and go backwards with their system then i'm not wasting my time by being forced to play these pointless matches with beginner survivors. (which isn't their fault but is 0 entertainment for me)

So now I only play if a few friends are on… which sucks because I love playing solo but not with people who are going to dc, hook suicide, crouch walk the maps corners, hide in lockers… I have no clue what’s happening… I hate that mmr is escapes and kills.. even if we could see our mmr it wouldn’t even matter since it doesn’t even represent skill in this type of game. Old emblem system did a better job and I had wayy better matches
Its just making me want to leave games most of the time, it's so frustrating waiting that long for a game to get team mates like this. Complete waste of time

Regardless, every Trickster I have played against just camps and tunnels anyways. So I just roll my eyes when I load in. The fancier the cosmetic, the greater the camping with him lol.
i'm almost at the same mindset as spirit , just die on first hook to get out of the game. absolute waste of time.

Well Huntress is an instant health state... but playing around Trickster is all the same. Hugging corners and windows to waste knives and working in a buddy system to take hits for each other. Being caught anywhere in the open is the worst possible scenario, so hug those loops
it doesn't actually take that long to reduce a health state... and the fact that he hardly loses any speed at all means it's extremely hard to dodge and hug corners
-
getting tentacle strike through the pallets is a bit much ... you either throw the pallet early and waste it or get hit, so there's really no escaping
-
it's literally just happened to a guy after his first hook , he got downed twice after that because the killer was toying with him so maybe it was a bug that let him do it ? he'd only had 1 hook in the game full stop so i don't understand how he got it then.
frustrating ontop of that the previous two games of camping pointlessness

Or as i have said over and over and over to you, you can learn where hags place their traps, and if you aren't in a state of suspense when moving through a likely trapped area then that is a failing of the base game mechanic failing to make the threat of the killer legitimate enough,
Streamers have a financial incentive towards specific gameplay, they are not a reliable source of what is and not actually fun for everyone ingame,
If people always choose to rescue then killers are entitled to use that knowledge to form their tactics and strats, because hey you know what's better than one dead may or maybe not dead guy? that plus a chase plus the possibility of another chase and hook if the other rescuer rushes in and you catch him not depending on gens the survivors are in a terrible spot where they legit have to rescue or face a really hard late game, and all because someone couldn't be bothered to not rescue every hooked person ever, you don't have to rescue that person, you can just do gens and trust another player whose got more experience and knows how hag's play to do it and either outplay her or get outplayed, or get doomed because the unhooked person rushed out setting off traps and they are now both hooked, and you can now decide to either follow the other remaining player to try and help rescue, or you can look for the hatch and camp it, or you can choose to finish the last gen so if the rescue works you can open the gate and everyone escapes or no one does because the last person messed up and is now hooked and the hag closes the hatch and the gates are in range of her traps and you forget to crouch on your way up to the gate to start trying to open it and she jumps you and you die, all born of choices, that you and others made, all because the hag knew someone was going to come along and try to rescue the first hooked person,
if ya'll would just once in a while not go for the rescue camping wouldn't be as popular, 99% odds are worth banking the game on, but if there is only a 60% chance someone is going to rescue that person well you have to weigh the odds, and decide if your willing to wager the game on that, or if you will put your hook at greater risk by going out and trying to get other survivors, and apply pressure, as it stands though rescues both have a success rate that encourages survivors to engage in them and a occurrence rate that get's killers to count on them,
as i said, i think most people would value their opinion much more than yours :)
the fact that you're just saying "leave the person on the hook" just shows how much of a stupid mechanic and BORING it is to play against.
-
@Thanotos_Omega said:

If you don't want to ditch the hooked person learn where she will place her traps and crouch there, and fun is subjective, if the hag player has fun camping then get over it, and the killer isn't required to play for your fun, they are (and i know this will be hard for you to grasp) entitled to play how they want, Hag is a defensive killer who specializes in controlling an area, so either do the gens or learn to crouch at the right times in her territory, it's not that hard, it costs 0 dollars to realize occasionally in a game like this you will be up against a much better player who will be having fun crushing scrubs because instead of learning to play they demand things get removed, hag is just better than most because she can't teabag at exit gate,
So I'm saying her mechanics are boring and flawed because it encourages her to camp one area and if the killer isn't leaving the area it's almost impossible to save without trading places and you're agreeing with me?
If you're in a hags area just crouch the entire game? You're winning my argument for me 😂
There's a reason she's hardly used because it's boring to set an area and then constantly mouse wheel spam and it's boring to crouch everywhere and pretty much know you're dead on hook if you get taken to a basement.....
That's not a discussion about skill that's a discussion about a killers mechanics being extremely toxic and lean towards the style of play that everyone hates in camping 🤷♂️
You can say git gud all you want but that doesn't change the fact that she's extremely easy to use and horribley boring to play against....
And again I think I'll take the opinion of the streamers that play on a daily basis rather than a random guy on the forums who thinks he's amazing at the game becuase they don't agree with you 🤷♂️

-Her playstyle is not about chasing you all over the map,It is about waiting for you to be dumb enough to get put in a bad spot.
She is beatable, just requires you to understand Hag aint nothing to ######### with.
You've literally just described why she's designed horribly
-flash light you have to know you're against her to take one
-you can't always see traps because of corn, walls. Rocks etc
-crouch EVRYWHERE.... This is exactly why its boring to play against and I'd rather just stare at the wall!
-marking her territory like doing a 3 gen which happens every single game vs a" good" hag....
-once she's hooked someone and set traps what are you supposed to do? Let people die on first hook because you literally can't save if she is anywhere in the area still? That's bad game mechanics

End of the day killers get to decide if they want to contest a hook, you are not entitled to be unhooked or to unhook others, if you insist on rewarding them with free pressure and damage potential because you are to entitled to the false belief that you deserve by divine right to dictate others play style based on what is best for you, then that's on you, survivors are not entitled to be 3 hooked instead of camped, if a killer feels like it it is their right to employ that tactic weather to earn a challenge a daily or because they personally like to be immersed in their character and focus on guarding their kills, just because hag is good at a legitimate play style doesn't make her bad, it makes you bad for not either just ditching the hooked person because your fragile ego can't stand the idea that a killer isn't choosing to do you a favor by not employing it, or you not bothering to just learn where and when she likely trapped and crouching through it, and you can just do gens camping even for hag takes a while and leaves them with only the pressure generated by rescue attempts unless they are really good and trapped far away to catch rescuers before they (if they aren't you and thus know to start crouching) to surprise them, they won't be able to actually watch the hook while protecting gens outside of super good rng, in which case killers would love to discuss exit gates totems, and even entire maps,
sucks to say this, but this really is one of those times when you just need to "git gud"
I think this is the worst argument I've heard so far... You're basically saying "git gud" by letting each survivor get hooked and just leave them to die because there's no other way to get around a camping hag that is mouse wheel spamming 😂
At not one point did I say I feel entitled to get hooked 3 times you've just made a story up in your head....
My argument is that her whole mechanic encourages the killer the camp it is extremely boring to play against (again which most streamers actually agree with) but average Joe here his reasoning is "git gud" 😂 awesome

It means you are supposed to learn to where she will likely trap judge how far she is if she's carrying someone ect, it's not that hard to get, learn how to beat her, if she hooks someone in the basement, either assume it's layered with trap or ditch them and do gens, or wait till she's elsewhere then go get them, use basic tactical concepts such as understanding where she needs her traps where people need to go ect,
Lovely bit of theory there
If she camps like most hags do? And you're crouching around trying to get past them what do you do then? Start running and instantly get hit by a wheel scrolling hag?
You're trying to defend it with best case scenario... Do you know any hags that are going to trap a hook and then walk out of teleport range? You must be playing some pretty horrible hags lol
End of the day anyone who's played hag for more than a hour is going to camp in one area once she has a down and just rinse and repeat and theres nothing you can do about it
Otsz has complained about her on many occasions and done videos showing how easy it is to wipe survivors with hag with no perks because it really isn't that hard even against good players.
You're forced to sacrifice atleast a hit to get anyone off a hook and there's always the chance youl run into a random trap that is impossible to see because of fields and rocks etc
The whole argument of just crouching around the mal the entire game just proves my point of how awfully designed she is because you're forced to play like a beginner and hope for the best

Lol that is a horrible argument, with his terror range and going towards a generator.... Alot of the time you will not have time to hide if you have no vision because of walls etc he is basically a stealth killer with a ranged attack, do you play many high ranking death slinger? Or do you just think you're amazing at the game and have a sixth sense about it?
Its funny how alot of the streamers agree with what I'm saying(the people that play day in and day out) but average Joe with half the play time think they know better
Maybe we should be forced to run spine chill in all our games incase it's death slinger?
-
Hook on hill , trap it , survivors try and crouch all the way up to unhook, hag comes back
same scenario survivor just runs into it hag mouse wheeling instantly teleports and m1's
there is literally no play against her unless you're seal team six which is poor design when the game is supposed to be for solo play as well.
it's just an awful designed killer that encourages camping and i'm at the point now where i just D/C against her as soon as I see
i'd rather wait 5/15 mins to join another game than waste another 10 minutes crouching round the map while she camps a 3 gen

Never said it excuses the mechanics, that's just why they exist. If you want Victor to be treated as a normal killer, he needs to get all the benefits a normal killer does.
You do get a benefit from evading him. You can literally destroy him, that's a pretty big benefit. I agree with the hitbox, I already said that, and yes - you should get points for chasing with him. Seems like an oversight.
He's incredibly unique. He's the first power that you can: Crush, stops you from leaving, can hold lockers, acts as a little watchdog. I don't think he's fun, but the Twins' are incredibly unique.
but he doesn't have to be treated like a normal killer .... he's the fastest thing in the game and can leap .... i'd say that's a pretty big advantage ?
no other killers can jump on survivors backs... no other killers can hold locker doors closed ..... the only time you can "kill him" is when he's hit some body which 9 times out of 10 is too late and why would 2 of you be stood next to each other for that to happen ?
as i said before his "noise" makes no different as he's already ontop of you by the time you can hear him and a good player isn't going to miss
