Or you can use your eyes and see a 6ft tall cowboy man walking towards you with a gun.
Either that or use spine chill.
can you see through walls? you do realise that some of the gens especially on indoor maps have 0 vision of what is approaching ?
I love these comments of "it's easily countered by such and such perk" am I missing some secret game setting where we can determine which killer we are going against so we can plan our build ? or are you just assuming that people are psychic and picking the right perks for the right killers ?

I assume your talking about Victor, which if you are... Don't call him a baby, BHVR doesn't like that. Just warning ya.
On topic, he isn't treated as a killer - that's why he has no red stain or terror radius. He does have a "shrieking radius" which has always been pretty loud, at least in my experience. It's the same reason things like Spine Chill don't work on him. He is technically a power. Survivor perks don't work on him because killer perks don't. If survivor perks worked on him but killer perks didn't, it'd be unfair, at least imo.
His hitbox is stupid, I'll give you that. The times where he has clearly missed me but still latched on to me or downed me is stupid. As for pallets... Not every killer needs to respect pallets. That'd be incredibly boring. Again, imo. I think the reason they made his hitbox so forgiving is because he's the only power you can literally destroy. If he misses, it can be incredibly punishing. Travel in pairs, that's something I've seen a lot of people say. You can kick victor after he gets a successful down.
This killer is very unique. Fun, not so much - their playstyle is almost always proxy camping and heavy slugging, but maybe they'll fix that.
i'm not sure how saying "he's not treated like a normal killer" excuses horrible mechanics ?
by the time you hear his grunting he's already within sighting range which means you can't escape him with his speed...
you get no benefits from evading him because you're not in chase and as i said he can easily knock you down even if he's an average killer ....
there's nothing unique about it other than what sonzaishinai said.... it's a heat seeking hunter hatchet that you can't avoid

I wouldnt call that toxic. Just annoying. A ranged killer with a 16 m tr is pretty obnoxious
Death slinger with monitor is just broken especially on indoor maps /areas with no vision. You have 0 chance of escaping a shot if the killer isn't a potato 🤷♂️
-
i just unhooked two people who IMEDIATELY ran into the killer... even with pallets next to them
one guy that missed every single skill check on a gen that was 3 quarters complete for about 2 full minutes of two of us repairing because of him missing the checks ...
The match making is beyond awful there's now way I should be matched with these people
-
@T0xicTyler said:
lol what get good
Learn when to run, walk, crouch and the matches won't last "twice as long." Learn proper gen management and capitalize on the survivors looping a 110% killer.
this is a joke right ? learn when to crouch ? you can't see the hag marks through grass etc so I'm assuming you've got some amazing sixth sense that the rest of us have to be able to do that ? you also can't crouch if she's chasing you.
a mouse wheel scrolling hag will instantly teleport and hit you and then the game snowballs. All she has to do is gen camp the triangle of gens...
I honestly don't understand some people's logic but that's the internet.
-
i'm trying to understand where the skill is here
you place the traps, scroll the wheel and if a trap is activated you instantly teleport and m1 and there's nothing a survivor can do about that once a trap is activated...
the only counter is to crouch round the map which is just an awful way to play the game .... that's not making a survivor player think ... that's making them crouch everywhere as if they were a beginner (we give people crap for urban evading around the map which is essentially the entire play style of the hag)
if it was a skilled killer she wouldn't be one of (if not the only) the only killers that can COMFORTABLY win games without any perks or add ons.
repeat there is nothing skilful about setting up traps at loops etc which a survivor MUST go to if you are in chase
-
Using the vault build I cleared the window animation was finished and I STILL got hit through the window..

Honestly I've never been sure if I'm supposed to be wiggling left or right or trying to hard veer one way into an object.
you used to 'veer' towards the side you were holding .... now there doesn't seem to be any pattern what so ever and you hardly have any control which completely defeats the point of the mechanic. why even bother having a reel function if the only way you can get out of it is if you've dropped a pallet or gone through a window (even then it drags you straight out into the open window)
-
this is beyond a joke now it's actually getting worse
i've just had a myres tier 3 me without me knowing the game froze and i came back to him killing me .....
i opened a gate injured just as i heard killer heartbeat the game freezes i come back to the killer standing right next to me in the middle of m1
i used balanced landing after wasting killers time.... i hit the floor the game freezes for a second only to come back and have the killer m1 me...
it's pathetic that they refuse to acknowledge this issue, there is no way that this is my setup even running in low graphics it makes 0 difference.
had enough of it tonight it completely ruins games

@TripleSteal said:
If your game is stuttering, try both of the following:
1) increase your virtual memory (paging file), even if you got decent RAM
2) restart the game every few matches. Dbd corrupts your memory for whatever reason, and you need to reboot the game once in a while to neglect this effect.
it can happen randomly from first load up, i've tried increasing virtual memory but again it just randomly happens. I don't know what's worse, the fact that it's still happening after years of people complaining about it or the fact the only time they've responded about it is to say it's people's connections and not an issue on their side.
-
get used to that, it happens during certain abilities, killer gets blood lust, you get hit by a bottle etc etc
the game just freezes for the second and you either loose the survivor you were chasing or you get hit and just stand there waiting for the killer to hit you again.
they won't even acknowledge you because it's been a problem for years and they either aren't looking into it so are ignoring people with the issue OR they have no idea how to fix it and are again just ignoring it for that reason.
-
this has happened to me in 5 or 6 games now.... every time i try to use dead hard my character does the animation as if i'm being picked up by the killer. i literally can't use it
-
I can't say that i'm surprised it's still an issue even after all the graphical updates. Silly me thinking it would have been fixed!
-
bump. fix your game :)
just happened with a clown bottle so I couldn't throw a pallet down ....

But it happens for like a microsecond. Nothing too gamebreaking but I get why some people find it annoying.
the whole game is about timing ..... it doesn't matter how long it is its enough for a killer to miss a hit, for a survivor to get downed etc etc
that is game breaking .... a microsecond can make the difference between getting a down or not or escaping or not
-
i guess all we can do is keep posting about it ... if it gets enough traction then maybe they will be forced to acknowledge it.
NOED activated on a survivor stood next to me, game froze and just came back for the killer to hit me!
awful coding

Never got any freezing in this game. I've like a second of lag when playing as a survivor i take off the "Haunted ground" Hex totem but nothing more... Can you kindly tell us how to reproduce this please?
I tried in a custom match just now:
- Bloodlust
- Dead hard
- Also, i was using Myers and tried using the M1 with Power in lv. 1, 2 and 3.
Is something im missing?
its basically what you are getting with haunted ground but with loads of other actions too, if the killer gets bloodlust the game just momentarily freezes as it "catches up"
sometimes when you get hit by the killer it pauses for a second doing the same thing and by the time you get control back the killer m1's you again ...
a gen is just about to pop, no one escapes death pops for the first time etc
it's when ever something above the 'normal' game play happens.

I never had this issue before.. then once the Chains of Hate DLC got released it started happening all the time.
not only do i hate the new map because of how one sided it is but I hate going up against the new killer because of the freezes which seem to be happening more with him ... so it's blatantly not an "internet issue" if more people are having the same problems with new content. They just keep releasing it without addressing old issues.
-
It's infuriating that it has been an issue for literally YEARS but the only response i've seen from the devs is to check your internet....
i don't care how bad your internet is it shouldn't be causing these issues.
i'm also so sick of chasing a survivor and the game freezing for a second when something happens and i end up losing the chase because of it.
It's game breaking at times and it's starting to make me want to just delete the game the fact that it's just being ignored to pump out more skins.

Starting with all of his traps would make him overpowered, plain simple. He is in a good spot right now, all he needs is maybe +1 extra trap to start with and he would definitly be a viable killer.
he's in a good spot right now ? he's awful he's one of the worst killers and is even less effective against good survivors. He's got one of the lowest kills per game for a reason and i hardly ever if ever see him at red rank.

@Aven_Fallen said:
Trapper is one of the Killers who would be better with just a few Tweaks. He does not need a Rework.
Nobody knows why Trapper cannot start with more Traps, it is actually insane that he by base has to set a Trap before picking up a Trap.
IMO, it would already help to:
- either let him start with all of his Traps (5) and let the Bag Add Ons increase the number or
- let him start with at least two Traps (with the option to get a third one, basically the yellow Bag Basekit) and the rest of the Traps are on the ground, but more to the center of the Map
Version 1 would be better, because it would eliminate the Map Travel for picking up his power completely and would also not give away who the Killer is right at the start of the game. Version 2 would also be a big improvement, especially when the Traps spawn more to the center, because it is simply annoying to see a Trap lying in some Corner and you have to decide to play with 1 less Trap or have to go all the way to get it (most likely the first option).
I guess one of those would make Trapper so much better. At least he would get two Add On Slots to use.
i understand they have to be careful because they could get trappers just camping from the start but something has to be done. I love Trapper but its infuriating losing the game without getting many downs because i've had to travel the map for all the traps.
maybe start with 2 or 3 traps and be able to pick up a 4th. He's too dependant on his items
-
between toxic mori's , huntress 1 hit downs , horrible dedicated servers and terrible game breaking freezes when you get m1'd etc are you surpriseD?
the devs are more concerned with creating a sale/the mobile game than actually fixing the game.

Just saying that you cant make that claim, and then onl tr have suggestions to make it easier for one side.
make it easier for one side ?? you are completely biased there is literally no point in talking to you about balance. You're the kind of player the devs need to ignore. You do realise that you're part of a very small minority that thinks the item is ok the way it is ? they will change it eventually its just a matter of when, the thread does not read "they SHOULD change the axe" because that is inevitable.

Devo 4 killer veteran here
Yes. Removing the few mildly effective tools killers have does in fact get players to quit.
Did you not notice how much longer the ques have gotten since the ruin nerf? And ruin didn't even last that long or work that effectively.
i can get a game as a killer in under a minute... survivor 10+ minutes ??

Rank doesn't mean skill in this game. Don't worry about it too much.
but it SHOULD decide who you get matched with most games? If I keep getting an average team where i can atleast pip 1 and then an awful team that just hides i'm almost guaranteed to loose that pip.... thats not because of skill thats because of awful match making. As I said i wouldn't mind if i was rank 8 because of my skill but i'm atleast better than the people it is matching me with.

How come we are only encouraging new Survivors to join the game at the expense of losing the veteran killer players? That doesnt seem like a sound strategy for to keep the player base of a casual game.
The thing is new player because veteran players, then what?
what sort of stupid argument is that? you're saying if the dev's removed instant down items then veteran killers would leave the game ? lol ?

Yeah, I'm saying GIT GUD, because that's what it boils down to most of the time for Survivors. We have so many tools that could also be described as a toxic mechanic that brings nothing to the game, but and easy win and frustration for killers. Yet, Killers are just supposed to suck it up and deal with it. But whenever killers have something half decent, it's the end of the world and must be nerfed, even if the solution already has counters.
there is literally no point in discussing anything with a 'git gud' player. In your brain you're an amazing player and if people can't play to your standards then it's their problem and you won't see any other point of view.
the game hasn't got a massive player base, the mechanic completely puts new comers off from playing, it can be extremely frustrating being downed in 1 go even if it's a lucky hit you're still down and hooked. unless you're a GIT GUD pleb such as yourself then you can't play against it and even an average huntress can kill a team off rather quickly and leave a bad taste in the mouth for average/new players
end of the day it's not a highly competitive game ... if you think you're a "good player" then you're a "good player" in a very low player base which does not really say anything does it ? if you were a "good player" in call of duty etc then it might be impressive with the huge player base and your GIT GUD attitude might actually make sense... but considering we want to be ENCOURAGING new players into a CASUAL game with absolutely no mechanics for a highly competitive game then we don't want toxic mechanics such as instant downs/kills after 1 hook that frustrate new comers and average players after they've just waited 10 minutes for a match ... it's a CASUAL game with a LOW player base, it's not Call of Duty.
not really rocket science to look at it from that point of view is it ? i bet you're the kind of person that waits at an open exit gate or teabags/points after dropping a pallet?.
maybe try looking at the game in a less selfish way that's beneficial for the whole player base and not just your amazing self which is #1 at DBD ? (notice the sarcasm from your arrogant attitude of being a fantastic player)
-
@Nurgling7 said:

Sorry, purposefully suiciding on hook and selfishly screwing over the rest of the players in the match then.
Saying there is no way to dodge a Huntress main is such a defeatist attitude, but I get why people act that way. It's so they dont need to improve and whine at the devs until they fix it for them.
I've played against Umbra and ScottJund. They are GREAT Huntresses, but I've never thought, "Waaaaah! This is too OP! There is nothing I can do." I have gone as far as, "Oh #########, this Huntress is nuts." and stepped up my game accordingly. Huntress has inherent weaknesses. Exploit them.
Not sure why I bother though. The devs have already proven with Nurse that they will cave to cryhards who refuse to improve.
maybe in a perfect world where everyone is as good as you make out to be then it would be balanced. but unfortunately it's not an ideal world. You want a game to attract more players and the simple fact of the matter is that if you aren't putting a lot of time into DBD such as myself as I have other commitments then you aren't going to be as half as good as your amazing self... the game will then get frustrating when you're getting instantly downed by a stupid item with a half decent hunter and you will stop playing.
it's a toxic mechanic that brings absolutely nothing to the game other than some easy downs for a half decent killer and a frustrating experience after waiting for a game for 10 minutes for a survivor... anyone that defends it are just on a high horse because they play too much DBD or they use the item themselves.
You sound like one of those dark souls 'GET GUD' idiots.

Literally this. I'll take needing to dodge 3 hatchets over Babushka any day of the week.
To bad the other three cryhards in the match tend not to agree.
you'l take banking on the killer is an absolute noob to counter it ? any average killer will get a hit within 3 hatchets....
-
still no comments on any of these posts regarding people having "freezing" during actions, other than to blame connection...
-
so there argument to defend such addons is that you have a warning that it's coming ?? and that warning is one of the players has to go down ? haha, jesus christ! so 25% of your player base has to suffer because of bad designs that they don't want to change.

You lose 4 hatchets. Meaning you have to run infantry belt to compensate. Which limits your build options. And as I already mentioned, weaker Huntress players need those extra hatchets.
seriously though, how are you hindering your build by taking infantry belt ?? you only have to be an average shot and you're going to down survivors.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
Uhh Iri hatchets have a large draw back. Especially if the Huntress player isn't very good.
Mori's used to kill after your first down. I do think they need a bit of a rework. But it used to be far worse.
DS was not created for anti tunnel. It was made to extend your first chase. It eventually became an anti tunnel perk. All be it with a bit too generous of a timer.
theres no drawback to being able to instantly down survivors at range

i'm so sick of it now i'm close to just uninstalling the game, as a survivor I can't use deadhard because theres a good chance the game is going to freeze as they go to hit me
its got to the point now that when I suffer my first hit the game freezes until the killer has recovered and has hit me and downed me .... its pathetic that this has been going on for years and it hasn't been resolved

Its awful. If you get unlucky with the rng then you spend all game running from corner to corner to corner checking all the boxes, missing out in the unhooks, heals, and by the time you get the trap off a number of gens are done too. It basically makes you miss out on the game.
Getting it off first try just leaves the killer feeling cheated.
this is the issue,
people bitching that shes a strong killer or weak killer, it's got nothing to do with that its the fact that it is a video game and the mechanic is not fun for the person who gets stuck with this ... you wait 10+ mins for a game or you get disconnected 2 or 3 times after the load time then you get stuck running corner to corner making no points it is 0 fun.

I got downed, went round every machine without detour and didn't have time to get to the last machine because they were so spaced out so I died with 0 chance of being able to survive. I'm simply saying its a fantastic ability and adds brilliant depth to the game!
on the flip side I put a trap onto a survivor and they removed it on the first machine, amazing skill and tactics!
what a fantastically balanced ability, i wish more killers abilities were like this.

not exactly rocket science is it ? it would take 5 minutes to disable the code for the items.
