If I am going to run Self-Care then def Botany goes well with it! Botany gives you so much more of a cure rush than Resilience even though you can use Resilience in different scenarios.
-
I will never stop running Kindred simply because it gives me so much info on killers and when they camp/tunnel. That is sad this is the ONLY reason I run it other than that it is useless to me. I used to run Dark Sense but because solo play has become so bad sometimes we barely get one or two gens done in some games with the one hit killers like Bubba or killers who cloak right next to the hook like Wraith. I understand matchmaking is a constant trouble source but I am a red rank survivor who runs several solo games with 15 and 16 level rank survivors who get hooked in like 5 secs. I am okay at the game but it gets old running right for a hook and your not 3 secs on a gen. But, oh well, I move on to the next game.

I was asking myself: Why do i come back to a game, that is time to time so frustrating? I thought i was kinda of addicted, but no, i am just lazy.
If you start any other game, you have to learn everything new. New difficulty, new controls, collectible guides because you don't wan to miss out on something, new npcs etc.
The brain wants to preserve energy. Playing something that you know in and out, requires less energy and is less a chore as something that you have to learn from scratch.
The next trial is another gamble if it's fun for you or not, but it's still better than starting a new game where you don't know the basics. It's wired in our brains.
I am a lazy #########. I have to break the habit. It's not fun.
I think those addicted to this game come on here day in and day out whining about what happens in it. I am frustrated just as much as the next player and toxic people playing who justify their toxic actions all the time. I have found this game some what addicting because you play with others and when it works,,,I mean when you get a good team, and it all gels, you get a really good hit and the brain craves that. In the obverse when you get a really bad team you want to throw the remote/keyboard with some of the dumb sh*t you see. I run solo survivor so I get the best of both worlds.

The way I see it, maybe you will impart some of your wisdom onto the babies in the game who DC or suicide on the hook for no good reason and/or some of the baby killer mains who wine because they dont win their usual 50 out of 50 games lol.
-
If these red rank survivors are doing this then it is wrong def! But, part of the problem is horrible matchmaking. Cant tell you how many matches I have had with rank 15 or 17 survivor players who have no idea what they are doing. However, I have had the exact and opposite experience with killer mains! Most of them I play are hardcore campers and tunnel the crap out of us. I used to win 4-5 games in a two hour game play, now I am lucky if I win one game and thats with good survivors who know what they are doing. You have to let fellow survivors die simply because if you go in for the save the killer is right there ready to down you because he is a Wraith invisible next to the hook. I am not great at this game by no means, I am a red rank solo player and can tell you for a certain fact killers are winning more yet always complaining when they dont win 50 out of 50 games.
-
To me, Kindred is the answer to a killer who is camping a hook. I see Trickster all the time camping those hooks from the start because they say he is so weak so they camp. I imagine most will continue this until he is buffed here shortly. We see that camping with Kindred and dont even try the save. That player unfortunately takes one for the team while we are doing the 3rd or 4th gen and maybe the killer will learn to pressure the gens more and not make camping their "go to tactic". Not just Trickster though, I have seen Wraith do this more and more except that killer main is smarter because they know he is invisible. Well there is a fix for that, run comms for SWF, or Empathy or Bond and see no other survivor is being pressured so he is sitting by the hook and we just keep doing what were doing.

Tunneling is different to this. Most semi-decent killers can tunnel and pressure gens.
If I'm actually playing for the 3/4k (tryharding/sweating or whatever other adjective you want to give it) then I'll hook someone in a 3 gen strat, and watch as I patrol their ass all game. I've probably won due to unsafe unhooks and survivors not trying to break the 3 gen early, but there you go.
I will tunnel the weaker player out, even if they have Ds, because that's the only way you can win against good players. Its as scummy as picking Nasus in league of legends. There's counterplay, but if survivors slip up for one second I'll capitalise and dominate the game.
At least your honesty about it,,,most lie and say they either never tunnel or my favy, "I only do it as a last resort" LOL. Well there is an awful lot of "last resort" killer mains out there. I think most killers realize there is real benefit in tunneling and camping unless there is a SWF team then they get spanked and cry like babies they didnt get that 50 out of 50 wins LOL.

I like Ash because he has a strong horror legacy and he is the absolute funniest.

Been here since the very beginning but must lingered around like a weaponless wraith until today,
Im on Ps5 and currently Rank3 (R2 then back to R3) this week, this mainly seems to be due to Face Camping try hard PC killers that wont leave the hook if your unfortunate enough to actually play and not skulk around the map with urban.
Ive literally had about 6 games on the bounce, all killers PC and rank1 and rank2 and their gameplay is just plain nasty toxic and no fun whatsoever. I didnt even realise that facecamping so hard was still a thing (not seen it for a long time) and since Ive made note of the players being Aholes, I have no desire to want to play any of them again if possible.
Seeing the killers MO pre game would be a huge plus, i dont wanna see his rank or perks, just his name so you can make the choice pre game and decide if you continue or not.
Not the most outlandish request to fulfil surely..
I would LOVE to see the killers name ahead of time because I cant tell you how many matches I have had where the same killers do the same crap. Had the same Wraith the other night in two games do the same camping, sit by the hook invisible waiting for survivors to down, if they tried the save. If your running SWF fine just sacrifice that one teammate and your out the gate. But, if your running solo your screwed. I would have loved to see that same name and just move on to the next game. I make mental notes on the crappy killer mains who camp and tunnel and that list seems to be growing daily.
-
DC's and suicide on hook penalties need to be life changing, like permanent bans! I cant tell you how many games I have had where one or two players DC or suicide on the hook while I am like three feet from them trying to rescue! They see me coming yet do it anyway?? Just makes the game that much harder for everyone else. Maybe I am a little too generous,,,if I were the killer I would back off a little if I saw this. No one says they have to but would be nice if they didnt still camp and tunnel after this. Had two games the other night where the same Wraith hooked then sat right at the hook invisible waiting for survivors to come rescue. Once someone tried the rescue he downed them too,,then the player on the hook suicided and the one on the ground DC. After that point we were easy pickens.
-
Following the killer around trying to get that flashlight save instead of doing something productive like a gen or totem is just plain dumb. That is unless you are a deadshot with the flashlight and need to position yourself to get the save. I have seen so many attempts to save only to get downed while I am being carried LOL. I get trying to hone your skills and learn but in solo games it sucks. SWF there is usually one designated to try these things because they are great with the flashlight, such is other roles at which players are good at for the team.

How many times do we have to say this?
If you are actually being tunneled, DS did not change.
Apparently survivors think being able to heal, repair 1/4th of a gen, get chased then go down and still use DS was considered "Tunneling".
So let it be known, if you are unhooked, and the killer at any point goes after a different survivor, You are not being tunneled.
Tunneled is a phrase derived from the phrase Tunnel Vision. Where the killer has such a focused sight on 1 survivor and 1 survivor alone they will ignore all other things to go after that one survivor. Gen about to finish? Nah keep chasing the same survivor.
So when the killer swaps targets, he does not have tunnel vision on 1 survivor, so by extension they are not tunneling.
You know damn well that doesnt happen in 99 percent of games. Almost 100 percent of the time, the killer may stray a few feet from the hook to watch from a different vantage point then come back to down that same survivor thinking in his mind "thats not tunneling". Ummmm, yeah it is! You think it was a coincidence that they just "happen" to get the same victim downed again,,,really, LOL. This happens every single game I play where a killer main tunnels. When you pass other viable survivors simply to go after the one just unhooked that IS tunneling. If your lucky and running DS then your fine for a while but I have seen worthless killers stay on that same survivor just to get them down again at some point. I see all this because I am running Kindred and we are listening,, and am thinking while we are powering through the gens "here we go again". Then the opposite reaction happens where more and more survivors are running SWF and tbagging and other toxic crap so killers are doing what they do more. It is human psychology and bound to happen because tunneling and camping has been declared "tactics" so to must be gen rushing and SWF who run in a way that sacrifices one of their own each game in order to waste as much of the camping and tunneling killers time while were at the gate by the time the first survivor is dead.

If youre new then you won't know this, but you can't pip at red ranks through camping. In fact, against good survivors you'll only get 1 kill if you camp.
Then why do so many killer mains do this from the start?? Let me tell you,,because with solo survivor games it works. In fact, it works so good that many solo survivors are just suiciding on the hook or DC'ing and those "experienced red rank killers" dont care they just want to win. Thats the state of this game and that is backed up from months of watching and playing. A few months ago you would NEVER see a DC player or suicides on the hook. Now, its almost every game. When someone spawns near the killer and cant loop,,,they are downed, hooked, and this is where the camping starts. Now if your that survivor,,,you figure "I will just start to play killer and do this because why deal with this crap in so many games",,,thus why we have so many camping and tunneling these days. If your the killer your thinking "why mess up a good thing, I am winning games,,,sure I may not be pipping up as much or whatever but I want that prestige killer so I will just grind the games doing this crap until I am there". The only way to combat this is to run SWF and understand one player is sacrificed (in a rotating fashion of course so everyone gets a chance) power through the gens so by the time the camping and tunneling killer even gets to the second victim we are done and at the gates. In short, if camping and tunneling are valid "tactics" why isnt this LOL?

I don't play killer that much, and after the matches I had this evening, I remember why not. I'm in green ranks, but there are constantly 1-2 red rank survivors in my lobby. Games are super fast, gens pop left and right even though I try not to chase one person too long, run Ruin and chase survivors off the gens. Most of the matches were 0k or 1k, there just weren't enough time to kill anyone.
How the ######### do you do it.
It is always funny how killer mains (not the OP,,,others who have commented) talk about "tunneling" right out the gate then in other post talk about how they "do it as a last resort". In my experience, it is those killers who run one survivor on a long chase ignoring other more vulnerable survivors because they didnt like that pallet stun or long chase. So, they run, and run and run just to get this one survivor,,,I can hear them saying "I am going to get you if its the last thing I do" LOL. Well, by that time three/four gens have popped and you now realize you spent most of the time on one survivor. I never did get the tunneling mentality anyway,, I dont mind the three survivor player "stress" option if we have already popped 3/4 gens by that time and working on number 5. Especially, if were running Spine Chill, Prove Thyself, tool boxes etc.

I'm a bit confused.
You're stating that it was a joke but then double down on that exact thing, claiming that survivors will not use a key once hatch spawns if they're able?
Ok, sure.
Of course the noble survivor only uses his key as a last resort, brings it in just for a safety net and never uses the key immediately. I now understand that they have no intention of using it immediately.
*watches hatch offering burn and survivor escape as soon as required number of gens are done*
Thank you for opening my eyes.
You are most welcome.

" I have yet to see a game where a survivor with a key jumps right in the hatch LOL."
No need to lie on the forums.
It was obvious what I said in that partial sentence was meant to jest however, you totally missed the crux of my argument conveniently. No survivor ever goes into the match looking to use the key as fast as possible. In fact, most want to keep their key and use for later when they absolutely have to. In the obverse, more and more killers are relying on camping and tunneling from the get up of the match,,,therein lies the difference.

When a survivor immediately opens the exit gates and leaves. Essentially screwing over the rest of the team. Had a rank 1 do this....a rank 1! I would expect that from new survivors but come on! He essentially got me killed cause I was nowhere near the exit gates and got caught. Ugh.
I so feel your pain. I dont care if the killer is camping I almost always go in for the save. In fact, you have a greater set of odds if whoever is left rushes the killer at the end for the save. I would rather die next to the survivor on the hook than run out the gate.

I only play solo but I understand that if I'm playing an online game you are subjecting yourself to go against whatever strategy the other side wants to use.
Whether you like it or not the fact is that's just how games work when you're playing against other people. It's something you can either accept or be upset by something that's never going to change, which is a waste of time and emotion. There's more than enough things happening in the real world to be worried and upset by, something that happens in a video game that I have no control over isn't worth being bothered about.
Of course, and I completely agree with you. This is just a game. However, the rub is when people say things like "well just git guud", or "it doesnt happen that much", or my favy,,,"camping/tunneling is a valid tactic because the devs say so". Well if a five year old can do it its not so much a tactic as it is a way for lazy gamers to win and the problem is it is happening a lot more and I have only been playing for a few months. It is so prevalent now a lot more survivor players DC and suicide on the hook because of it. This hurts everyone and the hard work they put into the game pipping up and obtaining/keeping ranks.

It was a joke,,,apparently that missed you. C'mon now, players dont go in looking to use the key at the first chance,,,it is usually a last resort. However, in the obverse those who camp/tunnel it IS their "go to" move from the start. I have played wayyyyyyy too many games seeing this for it not to be happening a lot. You conveniently missed the crux of my argument and instead focused on something erroneous and so obviously meant to jest.

The devs have said this is a tactic whether it's a good or bad one depends on the team they're against.
Plus if they ever did change it the killer players in this game have gone down significantly already so if this change came in it would be the final nail in the coffin and we would have to play lobby simulator when trying to get into a match as survivor.
You can't put rules and changes in place because someone doesn't like a specific playstyle because once you do that the can of worms opens and everyone starts demanding that changes be made because they don't like something in the game.
Sorry, simply putting someone on the hook at the start of the game then going invisible (like with the Wraith) while still sitting there and downing players one at a time is just plain lazy and makes for a bad game even for the killer. There is no effort in doing that. Heck a five year old kid can do that. It is just effective at winning and if that's the direction this game is going in they wont be having a hard time getting killers to play,, there will be no survivors playing. Then I guess killer mains will have to off each other LOL. These boards have exploded with camping and tunneling complaints some of which are crap and however, many in the obverse are valid. They cant be dismissed. I just play through them but it pisses me off when I depip and lose rank because killers simply camp and tunnel knowing someone will come in for the save and it DOES NOT matter how good you are at the game it is over unless your playing SWF which I dont.

I've been playing this game for 4 years and this kind of playstyle has been in the game since day 1. I don't particularly enjoy it but it's not against the rules and people can play the game however they like so I don't see the point in complaining about something that's never going to change. Just have to accept that it is what it is and just have fun with it no matter what the outcome of a match is. Besides it just a video game it shouldn't be taken that seriously.
Oh I never take it that seriously at all and I have only been playing around 4 months or so and in that short time I have seen a marked and noticeable change in the game. Tunneling and camping has increased to the point that I see it every night where I used to see it sparingly. Just because something it not against the rules doesnt make it okay in my eyes. And, it will possibly change when enough people stop playing and the devs step in to save the game. Will that happen,,,maybe? I have seen games change things radically in order to save a dying game. When or if this game will get to that point remains to be seen.

I don't condone "bullying" behavior on either side BUT if a survivor / killer is just trying to "win" or get as many bloodpoints as possible I don't see anything wrong with them trying their hardest. If people want to push themselves to get better at the game there's nothing wrong with that. Both sides have scummy things they can utilize in order to win more (Keys, gen rushing, camp/tunnel/slug etc.). Until these things are updated and or reworked I can't really knock people for using them since they are ALLOWED in the ranked mode we are all forced to play.
Obviously keys, gen rushing, camping, tunneling and slugging are awful but they're allowed so meh
This is coming from someone who plays both sides and tries to be nice and run off meta stuff and I still get a lot of hate from people who just want to be mean I guess.
The difference is, keys are used (in at least the games I see) as a true last resort after being tunneled or camped. They are an add ons to help with killers who play unfairly in my eyes. If you are a red rank killer and start off tunneling and camping from the get up then your damn right I am going to use my key. I have yet to see a game where a survivor with a key jumps right in the hatch LOL. Doing gens is the nature of of the game to win,, tunneling and camping isnt. There are genuine ways to pressure survivors to make mistakes, get hooked and killed without resorting to lazy game play such as tunneling and camping,,,its just to easy to camp and tunnel thats why it happens so much.

Everyone, and I mean everyone says they are not a fan of this yet it happens so much today it is insane??? Either some people are just flat out lying or just very lucky to not have it happen to them. If you play every day like me you see this crap constantly. I am a red rank survivor and see it consistently in almost every game it is insane! I never saw it in the purple or lower ranks so what is the deal with red rank killers? Just because something is not against the rules doesn't mean it should happen? When you play against a prestige killer (like the Wraith I did two times last night) there is no DAMN reason why he needs to tunnel then camp from the first hook but he did. C'mon, if your that high in the ranks shouldn't you not have to rely on that type of lazy game play all the time?

Where has the fun gone out of this game? Match after match after match no matter if I play killer or survivor the people I go up against are complete sweatlords. They aren't there to make the game fun for the other people they are playing with. Killers constantly camp/slug/tunnel, even when playing swf (non comms) and the other survivors try to protect against the killer and take hooks etc killers just aren't interested they just want to tunnel someone out the game! Then as killer against survivors they are either totally unproductive and just want to bully the killer or literally just have come in with full toolboxes/bnp and prove thyself. Where's the gameplay? 😓
Never mind the fact I had someone as a killer in a 'tournament mindset' this shouldn't even be in the regular servers literally queueing up for a game for it to be over in 3/4 minutes cos they just go in hard. I know people won't agree with me and most likely these people are the culprits.
If you have nothing of value to add to the conversation then don't I would like a genuine discussion about it.
I mean really how many camping and tunneling threads are there going to be for killer mains really to stop doing this? I am sorry the days of saying "this doesnt happen that often", or "I only tunnel when I have to because four gens are done and I have downed no one" are over. Most (not all) killer mains do tunnel and camp, its in almost every damn game I play now. I am not exaggerating or making it up. I play a couple of hours a night and where I used to see camping and tunneling maybe in a game or so, now it is like every other game. It is just so dumb, its lazy game play solely to win, and it makes it less and less fun to play the game. It IS the reason I have gone from a few hours of play a day to maybe a game or two. Just last night the same damn Wraith killer (literally the same one) in two games hooks then goes invisible, sits by the hook only to get survivors who try to rescue. If you happen to get the save he goes right for the same unhooked survivor. Are some killer mains that bored and lazy that this is the go to move all the damn time????

I love to play competitively, I will normally sacrifice myself to save a team mate one the EGC if I’ve had a exciting match. Killer pressuring gens, going for chases, survivors cleansing totems and looking for chases and not just sitting on gens. But this isn’t happening anymore. It’s all the same, team mate gets hooked, proxi camped by a easy killer. They kill them selves on second hook. Rinse repeat.
This is EXACLTY what happens in just about every match now. There are a few matches where it is actually fun and you get chased and heal, and do gens, and get hooked, then saved and interact with the killer. I dont care if I win just play the game,,,dont hook then sit by the hook and camp that makes it crappy for everyone for the sole sake of winning.
-
Just had two matches with the same wraith killer who simply hooks then goes invisible right next to the hook and stays there to camp all survivors who try to save. Literally the same one doing the same thing LOL. A six year old (which is prob who he was lol) can hook then sit there doing nothing else until a save. I am not complaining because I won one of the games but just seems boring to always do that and never really play the game.

@Yords said:
Do nothing, and move on. The reason that Bubba is face camping you and the reason that cheater is cheating is because they want to upset you to get a reaction out of you.
People keep falling for their bait. Every time I see someone cheating, all the other players who aren't start hurling insults at them, but they don't realize that is what they want. It is okay to talk back to them, but don't just straight up yell through your keyboard.
Instead of saying something like "stoopid person I hope you stub your toe" say something like "bet you can't win without the cheats, would love to see your gameplay without them" and then just leave.
I had a special kind of cheater the other week. He was targeting me somehow (4 games in a row I had with him once). He would lock me in a mori animation and freeze the game. He targeted me because I sat in the lobby warning everyone who joined that he was a cheater to leave. I did that for about 6 minutes before he left.
So he then came into my lobbies and immediately went after me when I was playing survivor and instantly mori me and then freeze the game so he could force the DC penalty. However, doing this would force him to stay in that game? How do I know? Because every time I DC'd before, he would be waiting to trash talk me and say things like "EzZZZZZ" or "that's what you get for telling people about me dumb (n word)".
So what I did was I joined a game (knowing he would probably join) and when I saw him I did nothing and just sat in that game for almost an hour. I loaded up some team fortress 2 in the background on my second monitor and waited, knowing that I was wasting his time so he could not do this to other people. I then proceeded to tell him how much fun I just had playing TF2 and that he should download it. He then said "K eep Y ourself S afe" and I never ran into him again. Huh, it's like he couldn't get a reaction out of me and stormed off, thus allowing me to play the game normally again.
So tl;dr, just do nothing and move on. People like this are just trying to get into your head and get their high off of you being upset. Hold back no matter how hard it can be.
You are SO right,,,dont let anyone live rent-free inside of your head. I learned the hard way because most of the sh*tty cheaters and campers/tunnelers want you pissed and LOVE to see the comments after the game,,,they live for it! So, as hard as it is to do, leave the game and move on the next one. I have learned with this game they cant all be bad even if it seems like you are getting a string of bad games with crappy players,,,it gets better.

Just had another match with a three man SWF and me being the odd one out. I saved them multiple times. One person had never been hooked. They just did their gens and tbagged at the exit gates and left. Didn’t even try to save me and they easily could have.
These SWF "teams" really REALLY arent all they are cracked up to be. Had a three man team last night doing their strategy in the chat before the game and I sat there reading. They never included me or asked anything so I did my part in the game, saved two of them, taken aggro twice, and did two gens myself. Even went for the last min save all the way to the other side of the open gate to save one before going out the gate. Not one thank you, or anything,,,not even a gg. Most of these players are punk kids and/or babies in adult bodies. But in the obverse they can be very selfish and toxic. The next game had a two man SWF and they were the last two left near the gate when I was on the hook and just stood there and the killer wasnt camping that hard. I always go for the save, always,, esp if its the Trickster because even at close range you can make the save if you maneuver right and fast. Some dont even bother,,makes you not want to play.

To me, your camping when you hook a survivor and sit right there and dont move at all or very little,,,thats lazy. Your called a tunneler when you keep going after the same survivor passing up other easier targets because you didnt like the pallet stun or the fact that he/she carried you on long chase and its an endless down and hook thing for the same player ignoring everything else that happens in the game. But hey thats good for a survivor like me who runs kindred and then ignores that killer main plowing through the gens with Prove Thyself/Spine Chill and tool boxes etc.. and out of the gate before you get on the second victim. So you can keep playing like that for me.

Their statistics reveal that Nurse is in dire need of buffs. Does she need to be buffed? Answer honestly.
They only reason killers have a high kill rate is due to the fact that most survivors, including myself, are terrible at the game. Players being bad at the game is no reason to dumb it down. The developers have even stated not to try to make too much out of the statistics that they released.
You're just bad at the game. Thank God you're not a developer, otherwise the game would be dead.
I think that is a little bit too easy of an answer to say "well maybe your just bad at the game"? I am a red rank survivor and have been playing the game now for maybe four months and can tell you the rate that killers are winning now as compared to when I first entered the red ranks maybe three months ago are astounding. I play 3-4 hours a night and play with many two and three man teams and can tell you I have went from winning 7-8 games a night to maybe one or two. Now, I am good enough to handle my own in the game and I know the players I play with are damn good and yet we are still losing far more than ever before?? For me, over the last couple of months, that's hundreds of games with thousands of players who are all red rank,,,they cant ALL be bad at the game? So, I am honestly confused as to where these SWF teams and dope survivors out there who are dominating the game because I havent seen anything like that. Not saying they dont exist but I dont think it is as prevalent as some killer mains are making it out to seem. This is not even talking about survivors who play solo like me,,,its way worse!! Also, I dont think the game is any harder and as a survivor I even agreed with the new DS so its not that me and other players skill level has decreased or a reliance on the perks/add on's that maybe have been nerfed. I play the same as I did four months ago and would like to think my skill level has actually increased.
-
Because,,,and this is only my guess, as I am somewhat new to the game,,,the devs have said camping and tunneling is okay. So, given this every killer main feels justified to use it as a "tactic". Its not a "tactic" to hook and sit waiting for survivors to come up,,,thats lazy game play. But it works for the most part. Killers pip and rank up and survivors are left depipping and ranking down. The only way to counter this is to run SWF and gen rush while one teammate is on the hook understanding that they get offered up to complete the game and win. When enough teams do this and killers lose every single time maybe it will stop. I am sure someone else will chime in telling me how wrong I am and that I should not play like that,,,yet they wont tell killer mains who camp and tunnel consistently from the start of the game til the end to change LOL.

This is something I don't get though. Whenever people argue for nerfing camping and tunneling people here often argue that those strategies aren't that good and can easily be counterplayed. Yet regarding topics like these, suddenly the argument is that these strategies can be viable and powerful.
I know the op's post is about not having these strategies used in competitive turnaments, but in the end the actual problem with camping and tunneling is that it's so unfun to go against.
My honest confusion is when people say "camping and tunneling doesnt happen that much" or "only at the end of the match because there are three gens or so done and the killer is at his/her last resort", when that is not the case at all. Most of the camping/tunneling games happen right at the start of the game never at the end,,,its like the "go to tactic"? I am honestly confused why so many people say it doesnt happen that much when it happens in just about every game. I cant be that unlucky to have it happen that much. I dont count the occasional camping or tunneling so this is not an exaggeration,,,I am talking about from the beginning of the game til the end. Oh and a lot of those campers and tunnelers are very toxic writing ggwp or ggez when all of us got hooked trying to save and maybe one gen was completed. They are not trying to be nice,,,they are being toxic.
-
My games take about 3 mins between for wait times so its never really been a problem. What I have a question is,,,is it normal for rank 16 survivors to be in with red rank survivors? I know they were doing some kind of test but I had have a lot of games last night where I had 14 and 15/16 level survivors in with level 1/2/3/4 players? I am somewhat new to the game been playing for 3-4 months so I dont really understand how the matchmaking works. I dont mean to sound bad or anything but with one or two 15-16 level survivors who may not know what to do makes the game that much harder,,which it did.

lol you think you are solvin a problem but ur just driving people away from playing
So let me get this straight,, I am driving people away from playing because I am doing the only thing I can because campers and tunnelers are making us do that,,,are you kidding me? LOL So your right I will just sit there on the hook game after game or foolishly run in for the save only to get downed myself for what,,,"the sake of the game,,,"and so others dont leave" when no damn killer main would EVER do that. No sorry, I will just keep doing what I am doing since that is what every killer main is doing. It sucks, this is what the game has turned into. Its not fun anymore but I am not going to play a certain way when NO ONE else does. Had a game with the wraith last night and he hooked then went invisible every damn time right next to the hook and stayed there so if we tried to save he downed us. After the third or so save attempt the game was over,,,why dont you tell that killer main to stop doing what they are doing. Because they wont and you know it, everyone plays they way they will and the devs could care less!

By your very own words:
"An action or strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end"
Tunnelling out or camping a weak survivor is most certainly a viable tactic. As it changes the game to a 3v1, making it much more in the killers favour.
Now the ethics or "sportsmanship" or said tactic are are another matter entirely. But you would have to be pretty dense to not see the merits of tunnelling.
I am sorry,,,if no one comes for the survivor (which is what happens now in matches increasingly) then the killer just sits there. The rest power through the gens and win. I dont know what you think is tactical about that? It may work in the few matches where dummy survivors all rush for the save but most purple and red rank survivors are smatter than that.

No matter which way you look at be it people power through gens or fall for it camping is still a tactic and won't change it might suck for the person on the hook but the same could be said for killers trying out new killers and facing swf.
I will agree its all relative but SWF plan accordingly ahead of time for campers to know someone may be offered up to help the rest win,,,thats a tactic,,, carefully planned up front and managed during the game. To me, just hooking and sitting there when no one comes (which is increasingly what happens when camping is being used) isnt I am sorry,,,esp if the eventually outcome is the killer loses.

You must be kidding?! From your words.
What does tactic mean?
an action or strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end.
I don't understand why you don't consider camping a tatic, and a pretty valid strategy.
Killers camp to decrease the number of players by 1, because when a match has only 3 players and there's 1 survivor on the hook, if 1 is being chased then is obligatory that the other one will unhook the other. This makes the effective number of players on generators to 0, and then the survivor's progress stops, because if the killer is good enough, by the time the hooked survivor's is unhooked, the being chased is being hooked, and the whole cycle begins. Playing against 3 people makes DbD another game for the killer, and that's why camping is a very valid tactic, because killers use to "achieve a specific end", the one that I just explained.
I'm not responding any more quotes. This is pretty obvious.
Annnd all that goes away when no one comes to save and by the time that first survivor is dead and the killer goes after the others we have powered through three or fours gens,,,the rest is gravy after that,,,so NO its not a tactic if you lose.

": an action or strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end." this sums up the reason for the DS nerf what was strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end about knowing you can do what you want for 1 min, The tactic to hooking a survivor and standing there is getting them out off the match making it a 3v1 not a 4v1 which is better odds for the killer. Unless the survivors know the killer is standing there then at least 1 or 2 will come for the save at the start which leaves next to no survivors on gens for a period seems like a planned out tactic.
Which is exactly why I carry Kindred and Prove thyself (with tool boxes) and we power through gens understanding that survivor is offered up to help us win the game. Its the only way to stop camping when enough killers lose to it.

The way the game currently works is this
SWF on coms have at minimum 2 people on gens at all times with one going on the hook and one inside bbq range ready to save. The ones on far gens make themselves obvious to bait and they just rotate for 5 minutes and escape.
This is why slugging and the occasional proxy camp are needed to draw survivors off the gens for any chance to play the game as killer.
Given that the large majority of games I see are not SWF,,,like me I play solo survivor and it sucks but I dont want a team because most of them are toxic anyway. Proxy camping doesnt make me want to go for the survivor it makes me want to draw all the other survivor's to the gens with my Prove thyself and do the gens as fast as possible to punish that killer for camping.

You haven't explained why camping or tunneling is not a legit strategy. The time the killer spends chasing a high level survivor + camping is sufficient to get all generators completed easily. That's 3 easy escapes for the survivor team or a maximum of 1 (or 3) hooks out of 12 for the killer, which are both losses. You see how you're wrong when talking about competitive DbD?
Tunneling maybe if the survivor is good,,,but if the player isnt then he gets downed three seconds after getting off the hook. All your doing is going after the easy target which is maybe a tactic. Hooking a survivor then just sitting there is not a tactic at all, you cant be serious lol?? Killers who think that really need to understand the meaning of tactic
What does tactic mean?
English Language Learners Definition of tactic
: the activity or skill of organizing and moving soldiers and equipment in a military battle.
: an action or strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end.
Does that sound at all like sitting in front of a hook, esp if no one comes to rescue and you end up losing?

Whatever you might think about tunneling, camping and slugging, you have to admit that if DbD would be played officially competitive these approaches would probably get prohibited by the rules.
And that's the point. the devs seem currently out to make dbd e-sports ready, yet they say tunneling etc are legit tactics, make things more exciting and that frustration is fun.
Like... if they are aware these elements would get barred in actual big tournaments, why are they keeping them in the regular game?
(lbr we know the answer is because it caters to all the bloated ego brats who thing basement bubba is skill and will throw a tantrum when someone had kindred and they depip from it)
This IS the reason I run Kindred and when I see a camper I waive others to the gens and we blow through them (with Prove thyself, tool boxes etc) as fast as we can to punish the killer. Maybe then and only then will they stop and play the game. Sorry camping isnt a "tactic" its lazy game play to try and get people to save then down them and you know it so stop making it seem like it is anything other than that. Tunneling and camping will ONLY stop when killers lose enough games that they move on to actual tactics. DBD isnt going to do anything about it ever.

Clearly you missed the part where it was literally a parody of the OP.
Please pay attention.
I don't have to be "killer biased" to poke fun at someone who dies to one of the weakest killers in the game and complains about it.
Dude why are you so angry and condescending in all of your posts???
-
The trapper is kinda boring to play against,,,they almost always do the same thing. No matter where they are on the map they go to the dungeon to hook then trap the hell out of it. If your that player than it sucks,,,if your not then keep doing what your doing.
-
Dcing is def a huge problem. I started playing this game like 3 months ago and never once had this happen. Now, it happens at least once in a two hour game play. Most nights it is 2/3 times. Whatever they are doing it is not enough. You can tell the difference between bad internet and someone who dc's right after a down or hook,,,there is no coincidence.
-
Had this happen a few times but the best feeling in this game is when you get hooked right as the gates open and you see three yellow players coming right for you to save. I fortunately see this happening more often. Watch tonight I die more with no help LOL.
