One thing is for certain, I'd definitely play killer more if I had fun doing it. Right now, its a bothersome and stressful chore and feels completely unrewarding.
In contrast, I've often more fun waving my arms at a killer face-camping me than I do playing killer myself. It's like a holiday vacation. No stress, no problems.

Xbox survivors Disconnect constantly whenever I play clown. I ask them why and they say "I just don't like playing against Clown"
@Rasinbran Doesn't the gas particle effect murder the fps on consoles?

One of the things I don't like about other asym-horror games is that often, the Killer can be killed. I do not want that in this genre. I love it that the Killer can't really be stopped... only delayed.
People say, "yeah, but it's hard to kill the Killer". But... I just want there to be no possibility. :)
@Almo By that logic, it shouldn't be possible to bully the killer either but survivors have made that the national sport of Dead by Daylight.

He was pretty dangerous so I would hope not
@Sauron1315 The developers would muzzle the jackal at first chance they get. A good killer isn't an option, it needs to be a FUN killer.

The lobby dodging is a symptom of a bigger issue.
I rather just the developers fix the DC epidemic but we all know that it won't happen until the Dedicated Servers go live..

Let him continue his frenzy through pallets.

Thing is clown is weak against great survivors and red ranks. That's not FUN at all losing.
@xllxENIGMAxllx Its fun for the survivors escaping.

Clown is caught in this endless cycle of becoming worse and worse and buggier and buggier as the community keeps telling themselves he's good or underrated, the fact that some guy here is saying he's A tier while having spent a lot of time on Clown is frankly depressing, almost as depressing as Clown's face.
Clown isn't ignored because he's boring, or basic, or is a DLC with mediocre perks. He's ignored cause he's complete garbage, dumpster tier and is easily one of the worst if not the worst Killer in the entire game, as OP mentioned his entire existence is a placebo and more often than not a lot of the time you think your Gas got you a hit, you would've gotten that same hit without the gas as well. The only and I mean ONLY time his power functions is if Survivors for some reason try to actually fight a long loop vs Clown and respect the gas, in which case yes, it does that, but smart survivors will simply disrespect it entirely, leave the loop as you grab your bottle, or camp the pallet, and you're boned.
The fact of the matter is all he has is ''Anti Loop'', he doesn't have actual chase because throwing bottles slows him down and the bottles are INSANELY slow as projectiles. So what does that leave him with? No pressure, no mobility, no snowball, no hard punish. He has NOTHING but this one gimmick, and if players are smart, he even sucks at that.
He needs Flask of Bleach baseline, with FoB staying to bring it up to 25% with the addon, Gas should blur the vision of survivors a bit more baseline, and the gas' slow should also work on Vaulting/Action speeds, by which I mean, while in the gas, survivors take 20% longer to drop pallets and vault pallets or windows, this could give him the opportunity to actually punish pallet camping in some capacity. Additionally as mentioned he needs to not slow down when throwing bottles, a Power that is meant to Slow survivors slowing yourself is ridiculous. It might sound like a lot, but again, this is the ONLY thing his power is made for and the ONLY thing it CAN do, he NEEDS to be good at chase/loops or he loses every time (like he does now) and right now, he just isn't.
@Nephs I agree with you wholeheartly.
Behavior doesn't want good killers, they want "FUN" killers. The Clown is only good on paper but fails in practice.

When survivors smell blood, the frenzy begins.
-
Skip a killer DLC and fix their game instead.

As we all know Leatherface is quite underwhelming and is easily looped by most survivors when it comes to using his chainsaw, rendering him almost an M1 killer.
To strengthen use of his chainsaw, the charge up meter should be broken into segments (3, maybe 4). For that first segment, it should a quick charge up for a single swing. This can be helpful in getting those quick chainsaw hits just before being looped. Each segment from there on out is an increased duration of his chainsaw rush (the way he uses his chainsaw now), and also with an increased acceleration to each segment filled up when charging the chainsaw.
His acceleration feels rather weak at base level at the moment (in my opinion), so it seems like that could use a slight increase. Now to prevent the single swing from being overpowered and rendering his chainsaw rush useless, the killer should have to be very close to the survivor in order to perform the single swing. In the case that the killer can't get close enough to single swing before the survivor finds a loop, the chainsaw rush should be able to be used to catch up just before they reach the window/pallet (the more segments of the charge bar being filled up, the further away Leatherface can be when he begins his chainsaw rush at the survivor).
With the implementation of a quick swing of his chainsaw, this should help in handling those survivors who are really good at exploiting loops. Also, only the charged rush of his chainsaw would be able to take down multiple survivors at once. Now I'm not sure if it would be too powerful to allow the single swing of the chainsaw to break pallets (as the single swing is meant mostly for the quick strike for an insta down if the meter gets charged enough). If the quick swing were to break pallets for Leatherface, it would definitely push him into a higher tier killer [as he would have very fast loop counters and quick insta downs].
If not, he would still only have to charge up to the segment in which he begins to chainsaw rush in order to break a pallet, which is slightly faster than having to fully charge for a pallet break. This idea of pallet breaking could also be implemented into add-ons for Leatherface as well. Overall, this would increase the usage of his chainsaw in matches where survivors are effectively looping the killer. It would also take him from a lower tier killer to a higher tier killer.
Another proposed change that is minor to go along with this would be for a decrease in his side to side chainsaw swing distance. This could help in making it slightly easier to avoid bumping into things, but isn't necessary in developing this new concept for his power. Let me know what you guys think.
Interesting concept. Not sure what I think about it.

I rather see an UI element that shows the amount of SWFs in your lobby (and who's with who) and then REWARD (based upon players in a SWF) killers for playing that game.
-
In order to rank up, you need to do a lot of stuff.
Stealth is not worthwhile anymore, you need chases.. so why even bother hiding? Run, get found, get chased, escape. That's what nets you emblems.
-
Press that button and never open the chat again. It'll save everyone a lot of sanity.
The game would lose NOTHING from removing the post-game chat completely.
-
It should at least regress at 1 charge per second. Just as fast as it would have progressed whenever a survivor's working on one.
-
I wonder why the Clown makes old man noises when he vaults.. it really ruins potential mind-game tactics because the survivors can literally hear when he vaults.

Battle pass in paid game is disgusting and greedy. I don't like using words like these but I really can't respect this decision at all.
@Judith Behavior's just following daddy EA's examples with CoD's battle pass. Soon enough, they'll also sell the opportunity to skip levels inside their battle pass because they're too grindy to even complete for normal people.

They should nerf them and rebalance the progression of objectives for survivors. It doesn't scale equally against the killers' functions.
@Eninya They should buff most killers to be in the same tier as Hillbilly. Nerfing ######### is the wrong way to go.
-
So killers had to endure years of being taken hostage in their own games for 30+ minutes and that was fine but waiting a mere 3 minutes tops for the game to end is unforgivable?
There's some sick double standards going on when it comes to survivors.
-
Her power? No.
Her add-ons? Definitely.
-
I think its supposed to help survivors spot where you are.
-
She's the only killer in the game that scales with the player playing her. All the other killers constantly battle with the skill of the survivors.
Her power must not be changed at all.
However, her add-ons are in a dire need of a revamp so I won't argue if they want to rework them.

Myers. I already said it. :)
Ah, I missed it.
I'd probably go for Bamboozle instead of Spirit Fury for Myers, as his vaulting speed goes through the roof in T3. Not to mention that his long lunges makes looping around pallets risky for survivors, making them throw them down earlier anyway.
-
It just struck me but why the fudge does the Clown even make "old man" noises when he vaults stuff? Every other killer is silent when vaulting..
Removing it would help him mindgame a tiny bit. Added it to the list.
-
Two things;
Ranks 20 - 16 tend to take a little longer to find games in because there's less people there.
If there's three survivors in your lobby and the fourth isn't joining, you'll need to remake the lobby because of a silly lobby bug THAT HAS EXISTED SINCE FOREVER.
Good luck with your first games of Dead by Daylight!
-
What killer are you using?
-
It boils down to the developers being afraid to produce another Nurse or Hillbilly.

Update, doesn't mean bad. They mentioned ultra rares and her lacking them
@Dabrownman1812 With Behavior's track record, any sort of update will probably be more bad than good.
Her add-ons needs a revamp but that's it. Her power shouldn't change one bit.

@Peanits said:
We have not announced any nurse changes just yet. Her add-ons will need to be reviewed at some point (she's missing some, others make her way too powerful), but beyond that, we have not confirmed anything. We're still focusing on the Freddy rework at the moment.
@Peanits You do realize that her add-ons are the major problem with her right know, right? Those are the only things that people would accept you change.
I really hope you ain't planning on turning her into some garbage tier ######### stain of a killer. She's the only killer that scales with the one playing her, instead of the other day around.

MoM literally protects you from insta-down attacks while at full health now, it didn't before. So one of its counters has been removed.
Wow, such nerf.
-
Here's a list of buff suggestions I accumulated from a thread I made way back.
- Minor exhaustion debuff part of base gas. Would require survivors to "take a breather", aka stop running away (thus letting the Clown close in faster) if they want exhaustion gone.
- Intoxication duration increases based upon time spent in the gas.
- Reduced reload duration.
- Release clouds of gas while reloading.
- No slowdown while throwing.
- Increased intoxication duration (Eether 10 or 15 by default).
- Increased slow effect (Flask of Bleach by default).
- Generators inside gas automatically start regressing if there's no survivor working on them.
- More bottles, more fun.
- Exposure effect on survivors hit by a bottle (Redhead's Pinky Finger add-on by default)

I'd actually love to see a perk like that.

They keep messing up, that's the problem. Anyone can oversee a problem or two but when the problems happen consistently over and over.. then something's wrong.

you guys are cute lol. do you really think they gonna touch base nurse while swf is in the game? bhvr is not 100% stupid. also mclean already confirmed long time ago on his stream that the only change nurse is going to get are her addons. same with billy btw. so come down kids and learn to play against her, you had 3 years.
@Kenshin Blind trust for a developer with a poor track record.. We'd be the ones who're stupid if we believed they'd not touch base Nurse as well as her add-ons.
-
Make it so that WGLF get a token for fully healing another survivor, on top of protection hits and safe unhooks.
-
Why though? They'd need to rebalance all the perks in the game to fit this mechanic. It'd be so much wasted time.

Because™

Being quiet is being complicit with everything that's happening.
NO company or developer should be immune to criticism.

I understand those bashing when we see how bad year 4 is gonna be. I mean look at ghostface , look how they want to nerf nurse , how they are still slow to fix the game after three years.
Red ranks should be the best/challenging players instead of that. We see always the same perks/killers, maps design is breaking balance alongside the gen rush meta. Most killers are still not viable at these ranks and 95% of the perks unused because how bad they are.
Feedback are mostly ignored look at legion , plague , clown. Same for perks/maps we all know how crotus prenn/haddonfield/wretched shop can be gamebreaking that being THREE YEARS.
@xllxENIGMAxllx Have they said how they want to nerf Nurse?
-
To be honest.. this would probably be the case.
-
To be honest, they're free to revamp her add-ons because some of those are broken and/or useless.
They better not touch her power though.

Just pinging you all so you can have a read here because ScottJund makes a really good point.

@Cursed_hatchet He already is.

One of the few rare ocassions where the developers decided to listen to PTB feedback. It tends to go hand-in-hand with how well the DLC sells.
-
All the drawbacks are there because the developers are so afraid to make a powerful killer. Even ######### Myers is stealther and he's a 2 meter giant breathing so loudly you can hear him across the map.
