I bet the numbers will go up not down. Peak of 85-90k during the event. You will see
That said, I don't support SBMM, I despise it!
You have repeated this nonstop in here, each time saying absolutely nothing of importance. What do you have to gain from defending them so hard? Are you a paid employee?
If you want to play it, play it. That doesn't mean you're an all-knowing god who can tell everyone what they will or won't do. People telling you they won't play anymore and all you say is "we'll see, numbers, steam, blah blah blah" which is completely irrelevant to the individual experiences of the people on this forum.
Will this cause a massive dip in players? Probably not, but these kinds of situations ARE the things that chip away at a game's lifespan little by little. And they aren't something Behaviour should be making a habit of doing.
-
Some of you want to be contrarian so badly, and for literally no reason. There won't be a game to play and "love" when the world burns up lol

I used to always stay up late on a call with my crush, I was so head over heels for him. We used to play survivor late in the night. Then, when queues got too long to endure, I would play killer and stream it to him and he would watch and always hype me up. Then, at school, we'd always talk about upcoming chapters, content, and stuff we wanted to see in the game. I remember he was always saying how he wanted a killer with eyes that lit up in some cool power mode, and when Oni came about, we were so hyped. It was probably my favorite thing in all of highschool, and I long for those days again.
This is cute and wholesome lol. Really enjoyed reading this story.
-
I’ll never forget my very first survivor match in 2018.
Me (playing as Claudette) and a Jeff were both slugged as the last two survivors. The killer couldn’t find us and we both crawled to the fireplace on Ormond and died together spinning around aimlessly.
It was such a great display of team unity lol

Dunno if we ever talked on here or played in matches, but hope the best for ya! Stay safe and be in good spirits (no not that spirit). I'll be on here a while longer but I'm through with the game...been uninstalled since the first news about the NFTs cropped up a week+ ago. Wanted to wait to see what BHVR would say about it but they never addressed us and just revealed who they are with that announcement.
I’ll be on here for a bit as well, hopefully watching positive changes happen. I’m right there with you when it comes to the game, though.
-
I feel this deeply.
if we’ve ever crossed paths, thank you for contributing to such great memories for me. Even if it ended up being a frustrating or annoying match 😂
Best of luck!
-
You and me both, friend.
This really is becoming a mass exodus, at least on the forums. What a sad fate for a game that was so great.
-
I’m right there with you, my friend.
I admittedly was one of the ones who felt this was too stupid to be true. And yet, somehow this company has still managed to surprise me in the worst ways.
MMR already had me taking breaks, but I can’t see myself ever picking this game up again unless another company purchases it or something.
-
If you define a win by 4ks only, then I guess this makes sense. More power to you.
I can't see how thinking you should get a 4k every single match would be any fun or realistic, though. Just sounds like self-induced stress.
-
What I found to help me was forcing myself to laugh at the ridiculousness of whatever happens.
It feels weird at first, but then you actually start to find it funny lol. It helps you reframe certain behaviors so instead of angering you, they make you roll your eyes and chuckle.

@kandigoth said:
It sounds like your issue is more with swf then the whole survivor community.
You'll find a lot of members on this site that think they only ever face toxic SWFs, so to them, both are the same lol
-
You are encouraging it when you treat survivors who are not toxic this way.
Look at how the behavior of others has changed your playstyle. The same goes for survivors who have encountered killers like the ones who you described in your op. Toxicity breeds toxicity breeds toxicity.
And the last thing you're in any place to preach about is being constructive when you're perpetuating bad behavior.
-
Ah yes, another thread of someone perpetuating the cycle they claim to be fed up with. You don't get to complain about the behavior of others while also blindly engaging in it.
If survivors are acting a certain way, sure, let them have it. But to go in and treat others that may have done absolutely nothing that way invalidates your entire perspective on this.

Come on, don't make this whole thread satire. I'm simply proposing that ruin should be basekit at tier 1's regression rate. It would help tons with genrush squads.
You just recommended removing all exhaustion perks due to... no skill? Ruin also requires no skill. Yet I'm the one making the thread satire? Okay, friend.

No, they should keep slowdown perks, perhaps even make ruin/pop basekit. Default gen speeds are too quick
Since we're recommending irrational nonsense in this thread now, why not remove killer powers entirely too? Make everybody M1.

@douggie123 said:
When I play survivor I own the killer every match near enough without really trying.
I don't think you actually play survivor, personally. This isn't the first thread where I've seen you pitting killer vs survivor and crying out to nerf the entire survivor side.
There have been valid counterpoints in here, each one met with another excuse or defense. If you want a genuine discussion, try listening to the other sides presented to you.
-
Imagine thinking the entirety of a side needs to be nerfed for... this
-
I'm right there with you, friend. Solo q has been rough since this was implemented (and before as well, but not nearly as bad), but nobody wants to talk about that because "survivor ez pz"
-
- Survivors who think the game is killer-sided
- Killers who think the game is survivor-sided
- People who think that because they lose it must be because the other side is OP
Basically, anyone who feeds into the us vs. them, doesn't objectively realize nerfs and buffs will happen to BOTH SIDES, etc. There's a lot of selfishness and immaturity in the community.
-
Can we ban the word "sided" on this forum? People who use this term are just dog whistling, with no real unbiased opinion.

All I usually see on these forums is when someone puts a discussion forward or something then trash talk is resorted to. Why is beyond me people can't be civil with a simple conversation then why are you even on the forums. Sorry but it's true. Mods please delete this post it's unreal.
There is no discussion to be had when the entire intent of the topic was posted in bad faith to villainize one side and victimize the other, which you very clearly have done with multiple comments in here:

I'm making a point as to how far some survivor players are willing to go to make the game as unfun, miserable and unfair as possible for killer.

That's just the tip of the icebeeg, there are many other things survivor are mentioning on fb on forums, twitter etc. But when god forbid killers say what they don't liek or what they want we get sent to the chopping block. Stakes and torches are brought out
This is not exclusive to survivors. There are people like this on both sides, in other games, hell there are people like this in life overall. And you've demonstrated you're the same, just on the flip side of the situation you're "discussing."
-
Everyone calls everything toxic because almost nobody in this community knows what it means.
It's an easy way for someone to make themselves feel better for losing.

And you think you're somehow better than these "crying survivors" by playing victim on the forums?
You're perpetuating a cycle, and an irrational one at that.

I don’t feel weak playing survivor at all. I have time to cleanse totems, do gens, and t-bag the killer during the game. Pretty stress free experience.
That's cool, but your experience is not the experience of everyone, and comments like this are exactly what this thread is talking about.
-
If you're already resigning to a loss, wouldn't you rather just get some points anyway?
-
It's a never-ending vicious cycle. Solo queue gets stomped, survivors claim killers need nerfs, the good survivors team up, SWFs stomp killers, killers claim game is survivor sided.
It's the nature of the beast, and why you see so many threads in here with people irrationally claiming the devs don't care about their side.
-
With all of the problems that pop up with each new chapter, do you really think the code could handle this sort of change?
If it were ever going to be done, it would either have been years ago, or in a theoretical "DBD 2"
-
Honestly, as a solo survivor, I'd also like to know this in terms of my other 3 teammates lol

Hmm, I never thought about it like that, and you do have a point. Maybe If I put some sort of mental block around these bad games maybe I'll have more fun. Thank you for your input :)
It's definitely hard to do, the really rough matches stick out so badly, so I totally get it.
What I found to help me was forcing myself to laugh at the absurdity of things not going well. It feels weird at first, but then you actually start to find it funny lol.
-
I'm a solo survivor, and with the way matches go, I have almost no reason to play it anymore, so I've definitely been considering becoming a full time killer main lol
-
With all due respect, I think you're just noticing more bad games as opposed to only playing bad games. However, I do think that there's some sort of problem for a lot of people in general.
It also isn't just a killer balance problem. I'm a solo queue survivor main, and I feel like a lot of my games are complete wastes of time, with killers wiping out half my team before more than one gen gets done.
Overall, it's just not fun for a lot of people on both sides lately, that I can totally agree with. Right now, the game is in a state where killers get absolutely destroyed by SWFs, but solos get absolutely destroyed by most killers. If you overly buff killers, solo survivor mains will have no reason to play. But then, if you don't buff them enough, SWFs completely crush them. It's just severely unbalanced overall.
-
"Improved mental health"
*posts hard to understand rants, dramatic spectacles about a game they "don't play", antagonistic toward everyone*
Doesn't sound mentally well to me, my friend.
-
Ah yes, I too remember when I was a 13 year old attention seeker. Good times.
-
If you're truly a "1% high mmr" player, you'd realize how ridiculous you sound right now, so that's doubtful.
@gatsby said:
It probably has something to do with Survivors being a uniform group and Killers all being unique.
Nerf one Killer perk/mechanic and it will have disproportionate impacts on the roster. Buff one Killer perk/mechanics and it will also have disproportionate impacts on the roster.
In this patch, for example, if you’re a Ghost Face or Trapper main its a buff. But if you’re a Slinger or Spirit main its a nerf. Some Killers thrive while other suffer. Every patch forever.
This is the rational reason that most people can realize.

Some would go ahead and kill the 3rd player if they found the hatch since they could just rush to it and close it. Now there will be even more that refuse to kill the 3rd person till they have #4 downed as well.
Some, sure. I can only speak for my own experience of course, but that was rare to begin with, though.
-
@VexTheHex said:
Let's be real, this helped with the key issue.
But is also just boosted the slugging the 3rd and looking for the 4th strategy.
One obnoxious thing nerfed (Keys), one obnoxious thing buffed. (slugging for 4K)
Almost every killer does this anyway, I don't think much will change on that front
Overall, this is an excellent and much needed change
-
I think it'd be fair to change it so only grunts/moans of pain are silenced. I.e., the survivor defaults to their normal sound state even while injured (breathing while walking/standing, heavy breathing while running, etc).
-
I got Midwich 6 times yesterday out of 8 matches I played for a day, all in a row too lol. It was miserable.

This Spirit nerf isn't good.
And some would say DS wasn't.
They try it, see how it goes, and make changes if necessary. Literally nobody has played this change yet, so saying it isn't "good" without any experience makes no sense.
-
@Pulsar said:

She was nerfed before.
So was DS? This doesn't mean further nerfs aren't needed. Both were nerfed once, both needed another nerf, both got it.
-
Spirit has been "rallied" against for 2 years now. You act like she was nerfed out the gate, and that the nerf wasn't needed.
-
I'm sorry, my biggest shock from this thread is that there are people who actually like Felix's hair in this cosmetic.
-
I feel you. Today, I honestly uninstalled my game until further notice because of how horrendous sbmm has been.
I’ve only been playing since late 2018, but 2021 has been a horrendous year for this game and I honestly don’t know if it can ever bring itself back from all the ######### ups that have happened since June alone.
-
With the amount of times this game has crashed/froze/etc for me in the last 3-6 months alone (and no, my internet is not the problem, I've played fine for years), now is not the time to consider this lol

the way i see it : the killer's risk reward factor comes from their powers , like trapper risking their early game to hope for a reward in the mid to late game etc
but yeah what you're saying is true , there's far too little risk/reward perks on both sides and that's sad :(
Very true, I'm hoping boon totems can shake this up on the survivor side at least. Maybe scourge hooks could also do the same for killers. Here's hoping!

Ruin i can sorta agree with - it's risk reward factor is literally just "map RNG determines how long my passive perk will be active for" but i don't understand the hate train tinkerer seems to be on , outside of blight and maybe hillbilly i don't see the perk being worked into builds as much . Although if it really is as much of a villain as people claim it is then simply get off the gen and hide when it hits around 70% (aka : welcome to the pre decisive strike rework state of mind killer players had to constantly be in - fear a perk that might not even be in a game)
maybe a cooldown between tinkerer procs of 7 or so seconds between procs or having a limit of 3 times per gen that it could activate could tone it back on the killer that can make a mastery out of a mediocre perk while not gutting it on an average m1 killer
Nah, Tinkerer imo is totally fine. My point was more so to counter the idea that just the survivor metas are all boring, and that there are killer perks that also require very little work/effort/risk to use and get a ton of information out of, just like some of the perks listed. NOED could be another example.
