What problems does it cause in your opinion because the only problem I see is how people see killers the go look x content creators on x killer went on a winstreak that mean any killer should be able to do that and you cant complain if you feel helpless on killer
The problem is the impact it has on both the public lobbies as well as on the playerbase's mindset.
- Popular content creators that go on winstreaks (don't want to name people because I don't feel safe to do so, but I think we all know which people I'm referring to) are good players with thousands of hours of experience. Now these people start to sweat. For multiple matches. This is horrendous to go against. Imagine playing against one of them on your afternoon. It's straight up slaughter for most lobbies. This btw. also means, that a majority of the games are total stomps. To conclude: they ruin majority of public matches by doing this.
- Because content creators are influences to some extent, their audience often feel inspired to attempt the same challenges for fun. Whether they have the required skills / knowledge. Now you have thousands of people ruining public lobbies by "optimizing" their gameplay to win as many games as possible.
Imo, stuff like winstreaks, as well as the comp scene, are a big part of why the game is as miserable to play as it is these days.
Can't really blame them though. They are just looking for a way to get attention / viewers.
-
As much as I respect and like some content creators for dbd, I think them doing winstreaks has caused, and is still causing, irreparable damage to the game and it's community.

I actually never said these perks weren't nerfed, you're just seeing things. And they're ran every match because they do work. I get value out of DH, DS, or Deli every single match I play. Sometimes I get value out of multiple or all of them. The only reason these perks sometimes get value is because people don't understand how to properly use them. Forcing locker with DS is a perfect way or either getting value out of it or wasting the killers time. Using Plot Twist does the same thing. Deli also does the same thing. DH extends chases far longer than they need to be. The fear of these perks causes chases to last longer and tunnel outs to happen far less. These perks may not be what they were in their hayday but they are still oppressively strong and will continue to shape the way matches play out for the rest of DBD lifespan until something is done about them. I honestly can't think of a single killer perk or even a group of killer perks that have as much impact on the outcome of a match that perks like DS, DH, Deli, STB can have.
DS stun against nurse: "am I a joke to you?"
DS has lost a lot of its power in public lobbies due to the overabundance of "new breed" / power creep killers. They can catch up in literal seconds, making the distance gained from ds utterly useless.
It's still one of the best anti-tunneling perks, but has lost a lot of its power over the recent years.
I hate to say this, but the strongest "anti-tunnel" things are probably chase extenders you feel comfortable with using. Add that to a strong looper and a good map and the killer is going to waste more time on the tunnel than they would on a fresh hook.
So as bad as it sounds: counter tunneling by getting good.

Currently?
I started the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy. Now that part 3 is releasing early next year, I want to fully get into the game. Already got through remake integrate, and am now playing rebirth. Both are absolutely gorgeous games.
Other games I would recommend:
- Silent hill 2 remake
- Dark souls 3
- Elden ring nightreign
- Elden ring
- Lies of p
- Resident evil 2r, 4(r), 9
Next to Final Fantasy 7 revelation, I'm also looking forward to:
- Castlevania: Belmond's curse
- Silent hill (1) remake
- Resident evil Veronica (code Veronica remake)
-
Nope. I don't use corrupt, deadlock, pain res, dms or dh.
-
I'd give him window scamper back. It makes no reason that it was removed alongside pallet scamper when only pallet scamper was the issue.

Mostly survivor out of the 100 games 63 were on survivors abd 37 were on killer. Was trying out new build for survivor at the time.
Again, cool that you play both sides and keep track of quitters.
However, this doesn't put a dent into my argument.

35% of my last 100 games on killer and survivors has someone dc after first down I have been tracking it because its frustrating to lose because people just want to give up after a 12 second chase.
Wait... Are you playing killer or survivor in those matches? Cause if your playing killer, then you definitely don't lose once a survivor dc's.
Regardless, impressive tracking. I wouldn't be that passionate about the game. At least not anymore.
Still, this doesn't put a dent in my argument. You experienced a bunch of quitters. Sad but happens. Your games are not my games though. I tend to have people play it out against my piggy and I often come out on top.
Lower tier killers are very much still viable in dbd. Not against your 1 in a 100 death squad, but let's be honest, a majority of the roster gets smoked in that scenario.

You keep up because survivors still suck ass at the game amd give up underhook dc at the smallest thing.
I won against a very popular comp streamer on Garden of Joy.
So according to your logic comp players are just as bad.
Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of people that give up at the slghtest inconvenience. But that's not happening in all matches. I still win pretty consistently and I'm not even running a max meta build.
It's just a TON of experience.

Ya people want strong killers to be able to compete with the insane perks survivors have had for years but for some reason only nurse can stay as s+ teir and blight as s teir everyone cries about the new killer they get nerfed and people learn the counterplay after making them illet even worse it happened with the first
Reading stuff like this makes me wonder how I survived as a Pig main for so long (since 2020).
I managed to keep up back then and I manage to keep up now. People really just want to put in less effort.
-
These killers are part of dbd, whether you or I like it.
So instead of going for the DC in case you encounter something you deem unfun, I encourage you to reconsider hitting the start game button. That way you don't ruin the match for everyone involved.
I don't like going against Ghoul for example. Do I DC? No. Do I give up the second I hear the terror radius? No.
I'm playing the game out until I'm either sacrificed or out of the gate. I'm not a quitter. I know what I queued up for.

I'm sorry, but I lost all interest after reading:
"I'm a Ghoul main" and "all his nerfs where unnecessary".

I made 5 points and only 1 of them can be "boiled down" to "are survivors morons?" So to you 1/5 or 20% = most? Maybe you're the …
I get it. This event is a disappointment. I'm disappointed too. It's the 10th year anniversary, they hyped it so much even the Entity should have been excited for it. Instead we got the weakest event ever.
I wish all the new people brought in by Jason's chapter got introduced to DbD with something better than a load of meh.
I hope you have fun playing something else. Consider picking up a new game on Steam. The deals that can be had right now are crazy!
Thx for immediately going there. Good start to a reasonable discussion.
Let me be more thorough then.
- Strong tiles get deleted. Some do. To compensate for a few tiles being deleted, a ton of additional pallets spawn. I played a large amount of survivor matches yesterday and my god. Almost every double pallet spawned.
- 3 gens only become strong if the killer is actively playing for it, the survivors are morons (mindlessly finish gens, ignoring the threat of a 3 Gen) , or if the survivot are uncoordinatedand.
- So survivors are ignoring gens to do event stuff, getting them killed in the process. Morons.
- I guess noobs don't know any better. So they play like morons, but you can't blame them for it. Fair enough. My bad.
- Poison bottles are literally countered by smart pathing or, if you want to put in even less effort, fixated. I managed to survive against the poison at least 3 times yesterday without taking a single hit. No fixated. Just careful stamina management. The overabundance of pallets haste through the event makes it even easier to avoid a hit. So again. If survivors are having massive issues with the poison, then its all on them for not countering it properly. It's literally not that hard to do.
So out of the 5 things you mentioned, 3 boil down to survivors being morons. The first is more or less a statement about resources.

You're not seeing the big picture. All you see is the overpowered buffs that survivors are getting.
Killers get some less tangible but significant bonuses:
- Strong tiles on certain maps get deleted, replaced with the event tile that has a single pallet, no windows and only short obstacles. I've seen it replace the Cursed Cabin on the Swamp making a huge section of the map a dead zone.
- Banquet Tables replace main gens very often which have resulted in some of the tightest 3, 4 & even 5 gen groupings that are ridiculously easy to defend. Practical no win scenarios for all but the sweatiest of SWFs.
- If carts don't spawn close to Banquet Tables survivors can waste far too much time plating the table that they never get the gens done.
- There are an abundance of clueless newbs who just joined DbD with the Jason chapter who are complete cannon fodder.
- And the poison bottles are really good too.
Killers are eating well in both queues, worry not.
I played it yesterday and yes, I won my sadako match. I won at 3 gens remaining.
Did I have fun though? Absolutely not. It was old dh with hit validation - levels of infuriating.
Most of your points boil down to: are the survivors morons? Yes? Well, then your gonna win. Is that game gonna be fun? Depends, but for me probably not at all. Compared to most people here and in dbd, I play to have fun. I got over 4500h and unlocked everything I want. Im truly just playing to have fun playing my fav characters. Pig feels utterly unplayble. Traps are an absolute joke because survivors can tp to the boxes and I don't have to explain why not being able to break pallets is a problem for a non mobility-, no pallet break / vault - killer.
Yes. I can poison a survivor to get an almost guaranteed hit. Cool. I can play Ghoul on steroids. What engaging gameplay.
Again, I'm happy for those enjoying this event. I just don't want to deal with bhvr endorsed cheaters. I had enough cheaters in my games when they made dbd free on epic for a weekend.

Here's the thing, the dozens of people that play something else are completely irrelevant and do not matter at all in the grand scheme of things. It's why 2v8 is going to keep coming back because the tens of thousands of players it brings in matter more than the dozens of people that don't like events.
Well, then let's hope that there are enough killer players that want to either cheese to win or endure the uphill battle.
-
I know this sounds crazy to some, but could we get rid of the abandon feature altogether?
All it does is encourage quitter-mentality.
If you don't want to play the game, then please just quit before you hit the ready button.
-
I think the idea of allowing players to go to a map of their choice in public lobbies is fundamentally flawed based on the fact that maps can make or break a trial.
Deleting them would have been the better choice, but bhvr rarely deletes large amounts of items.
If you just want to explore the map, then custom matches are there for you.
If you want to play scratched mirror Myers... well... I think the idea playing Myers with the intention to have a genuinely scary experience has ceased to exist with his rework.

All I'm gonna say is, people aren't stopping playing rn so I'm getting conflicting messages from all these threads LOL I'm starting to see more killers catch onto the poison and survivors never once not been in need on my servers.
I'm not at home right now and didn't get the chance to play the event yet. So take my take (not intended) with a grain of salt.
From what I've seen from videos online, the poison is the most boring free hit mechanic ever seen in dbd. The hit is even more free than release Ghoul.
I personally don't see how that's engaging to play with, but I've also never been a fan of forced hits.
At least the invisibility mechanic seems fun to play with, as it's at least something new.
I assume, that bhvrs marketing campaign worked to get a bunch of people on board for the survivor perks, Jason and the anniversary event. These people either continue playing (after getting the event rewards) for cakes or because they like it. What I think most people do, is getting the rewards, play survivor or quit the mode entirely, switching to normal queue.
Numbers are up because theres new stuff. Not surprised. It's always been that way.

Oh no, an extra minute. Sorry let me grab the worlds smallest violin.
I think you misunderstand.
If people are not enjoying the service in their live service game, they will simply move on and do something else. I certainly didn't want to wait over 30min for one match of 2v8. No matter how much fun I would have had. It's not worth the time.
If people don't enjoy playing killer during the event and waiting times for normal queues aren't worth their time, they will not play the game.
That's not what you would want for the big 10th anniversary of your game? Would you?

Reasonable maybe but in the end its Behavior's decision of how many cakes they want people to get and in the end you get about 30 every prestige. Currently in event queue you get like 150-250k per match with that math it takes about 5-7 matches to get one prestige. That leaves you about 23-25 cakes per prestige if you used one every match. You also can take into account that you get refunded any bloodpoints over 2k that you used on an even item or offering so you are even prestiging up faster than normal too because of that. In my opinion that is reasonable and there is others here who agree on that.
It's reasonable, sure.
It just feels bad, that the 10th anniversary offers less than the anniversaries before. It's should be the other way around.
Then again, it's bhvr. After all the years I've played the game and engaged with its community, I'm really not surprised by anything at this point.

Its fine but people are being greedy and wanting way more. I got about 30 per prestige.
I mean, I vividly remember almost getting a cake per bloodweb. Sometimes 2. That's roughly 50 per prestige level. If you've had that for 9 years, I think it's reasonable to question the change.
-

They can and will get away with a lot these days.
The community has shown time and time again that they don't care about how they are treated.
Walking dead was an absolute train wreck and instead of there being actual consequences, we just laughed it off.
At some point, we, the playerbase, are just getting what we deserve. If we show them, that they don't have to try, then why should they?

When will things ever improve in this game?

I just feel like, I don't know, why aren't people angrier? Why aren't they louder? Are these Jason supporters just lying about him being fine because the want the easiest time they've ever had in this game? I'm just so baffled by this praise while I'm playing against the most free, the most overstuffed, and most forgiving killer the game has probably ever seen.
I mean, he even gets TBtC clock as an add-on while fulfilling zero activation requirements, and an anti-Exhaustion add-on too. I normally advocate against Exhaustion but it's pretty much your only chance to make distance from him, and even I'm so desperate I'm running Overcome—but then it just gets countered by the add-on anyway.
I never want to hear a word about skill expression ever again from anyone who thinks this killer is B tier or fine as is.
I feel like im repeating myself, but…
HE NEEDS A LONGER COOLDOWN ON OMNIPRESENT EVIL.I said it was too low when he was on pbt and its still too low. Every time you miss with him, there isnt really a punishment. Just leave chase, grab another spike and either come back or just go across map to find a new chase in seconds.
Its infuriating how much he powercreeps other killers, not even looking at addons.

@Equinox_One said:

Would like to try him more. Sadly the queues make me dont want to play.
-
After playing him last evening… Yeah. I feel validated in the opinion that he needs his OE cooldown nerfed. Its too short for misses to actually punish you.
You need to severely overcommit to a chase for missing to actually punish you. If you miss a spike, just leave with OE and find a different chase. Why chase with 4.4, if you can just run across the map, grab a new projectile on the way, protect a gen AND get a new chase in literal seconds.

Right now? Easily Myers.
-
Pretty sure I told this story before, but the worst thing I've ever done in dbd was in order to get my bubba adept (pre - adept rework)
I played on Midwich with green speed and purple chilli.
It was, at the very least, a 30min game. I broke a player's spirit that day.
I'm not proud of it and will forever wear that steam achievement as a reminder of how I should never play again.
-
I like them. In fact, I mained two of them for almost 6 years now. Sadako ever since she released and Pig roughly a month after I started playing.
I don't like the new breed of killers that are basically made by ticking boxes.
- Mobility?
- Anti - loop?
- Something small that makes them not be total copy paste?
Sadly this is what people want. Just look at how popular streamers praised the Myers rework despite it heavily hurting his identity in regard to gameplay.
Few people care for as long as they are winning, and a majority of the newer killers make winning a lot easier.
-
Is it just me, or should omnipresent evil have a longer cooldown?
The Ptb version felt so short, that it basically nullified any significant punishent for missing your spike.

Which version?
Currently there's so much endurance that you have no idea if the match is going to be a true contest or turn into an invincibility cheese-fest. Older versions of DdD may have had their issues, but at least god-mode perks weren't serving up BS escapes like an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Really? I remember ds making you invulnerable while sitting on a gen and bnp finishing gens in literally seconds.
My comment was more directed towards map-, killer-, and specific item changes. Myers lost what made him unique in the pursuit of balance, Maps like old coldwind lost its atmosphere and dont even get me started on Haddonfield.

You could just make numbers changes to make her bad, like doubling her cooldown or something. But that wouldn't actually fix her it would just "delete her" the same way they did skull merchant.
The real question to propose is. She is bad at low level play, she is often one of the lowest kill rate if not THE lowest killrate killers in the game, often less than 50%. So she's actually underpowered when played in the average game.
But what about nurses like me who have thousands of hours? If i'm going against survivors with 300 hours, sure i'll probably win every time, but that is more of an experience mismatch.
What if you pit me against a team of survivors with 5k hours? Am i going to win that match every time? Probably not, and that changes things.
I for one am personally in favor of reworking the nurse, but i also think that the fundamental base mechanics of the game need to change to start making the FUN parts of DBD the actual rewarding parts and to start eliminating the unfun parts. But if you rework the nurse because you accept that she is "too strong in the hands of a high level player" then you must also by definition, handle "survivors who are too strong in the hands of a high level player" and the fact that at the highest levels of play, there are maybe 5 viable killers.
Therefore, i don't think it is as simple as "nerf nurse" or "rework nurse" i think fundamental base level mechanics of the game need to change first, to make it so nurse is not necessary when you are playing in matches with the best players in the world.
For example, if you took the best 4 survivor players in the world, and pit them against say, the best trapper player in the world for 10 matches, how many matches do you think that the trapper would win? Now do the same with nurse, how many games would nurse win? Do this with just about any other killer and you'll realize that most of these matches will end with the survivors winning more often, with the exception of maybe 4 or so killers who might pull out ahead, and maybe another 3-4 who might break even. Then realize that there are 40+ killers in the game.
Basically, i think nurse in her current form must exist, as long as the game exists in its current state. Until then, i think any balance discussions are pointless.
Fundamental game mechanics dont need to change before Nurse gets reworked or nerfed. They also didnt need to change before Blight got nerfed.
Do they have to eventually change, yes. Coordinated survivor teams with no weak links are too strong for a majority of the roster.
However, Nurse is not the be all and end all of killers. Reworking her before changing survivor will not make the game unplayable all of a sudden. At least not more than it already is.
-
@Reinami said:

As a nurse main with 4k hours. This will not do anything. What she needs is a complete and total rework. Any possible change you could do simply makes her harder to play for the average player, but does nothing against the high level nurse players.
I agree with this. In my opinion, nurse's power is fundamentally broken and needs a rework.
How a rework could look like? I dont know, but ive seen a lot of interesting concept over the years. One I liked was that, she could only injure with her first blink but has higher movement speed.
If a simple rework doesnt do it, then scrapping the idea of going through objects entirely might be the way.
-
I think they should adjust the hitbox of the killer scratchmarks. Its not ok that it activates from miles away and through floors.

What are we supposed to think? Just another unhinged killer who kills for no reason. It’s obvious he needs a very heavy penalty in the case you mentioned, and going even further, with all the advantages he has, he’s a killer who should be at 4.4 if you don’t want to change anything else.
Otherwise, what happens is exactly what’s happening now: while the killer gets an insanely entertaining experience, the rest of the players — in this case the Survivors — neither have fun nor even want to play the match.
Behaviour doesn’t have a ######### clue how to balance the game. It took them years to put Blight at 4.4, and it’s obvious what’s going on. You can’t get blood from a stone. Show the statistics and then we’ll talk.
As much as I dont like Ghoul, and trust me, I really dont like them. Making them 4.4 doesnt solve the issue. With Blight, making him 4.4 was only logical. He can down survivors with his power. Ghoul cant do that.
Making Ghoul 4.4 would make it so they rely on getting cheap hits by jumping to the survivor before they can get anywhere because they cant really get a hit in loops anymore.
4.4 killers should be able to down with their power.
As I said, Ghouls power is so fundamentally flawed imo, that it needs a lot more than simple number changes to even try to fix them.
-
- Kaneki is awfully loud.
- The first hit is even more free than Legions
- His map mobility has almost no limits resulting in most people tunneling without any punishment or descision making
- His cooldown after using power is too low, often leaving you with literally no counterplay if the map isnt stacked
- Grab attacks sometimes still hit through objects, which adds to the cheap feeling when playing against them.
Just like with Nurse, I dont think this killer can be salvaged. The core design is fundamentally flawed.
