Did any of them die on hook after being left there, or kill themselves trying to escape after their first hook?
-
ladies and gentlemen this is why we keep crossplay on
-
alchemist's ring is the only problem with blight. aside from that one add on, he is one of the most fair and fun killers to face
-
use no mither and most killers will just acknowledge that you have MASSIVE BALLS and just let you do gens

Yeah survivor is definitely more forgiving but like I said I want to know everyones reason as to why they use them. Not for the basic answer of keeping up with the meta. Do they find it fun, do they want to win, is it because they hate losing those are the answers im wondering about
My answer to that is that survivor can be fun even if you died, and killer is the opposite. No win, no fun when you're playing killer (most of the time). so I pretty much can't swap off of corrupt/dms/lethal pursuer/pain resonance or I will suffer a huge penalty to my fun

Saw someone else's tier list for killers to play against and I thought I'd make my own

I'd swap bubba for nurse, put demo in the top, and swap deathslinger with hag
-
As survivor it's pretty easy to have fun while running fun, off meta perks. As killer, not so much. You can catch me running pebble and counterforce basically every other game on survivor, but my killer builds are basically all the same because changing them for "fun" is just unviable.

A lot of killers have said over the years, "just do bones".
I don't see why killers can't just snuff boons. Do bones.
Because the bones stay there after being snuffed. It's a waste of time unless you randomly stumble across one
-
how does dead hard counter plague any harder than any other killer?
-
all of that is already bannable... you could also screenshot and make a ticket out of it for more urgency I guess
-
make pop goes the weasel base kit for killers, and maybe tunneling will go down. 3 gens popping in 3 minutes due to toolboxes and perks is a huge part of why people feel the need to tunnel and camp

I understand the feeling, but it's a function of killers like Pyramid Head. It's needlessly risky to loop anything when his power defeats that at a high level. Killers like that have all their eggs in one basket so to speak. Survivors lose nothing by playing extremely safe if everyone is efficient on gens and not throwing games for Rift challenges. No point in ending a trial with half the pallets still available.
I'm not sure what the solution is though. Mid to low MMR survivors don't do generators. If you tune maps for low resource count and high generator efficiency, any match over 7 or 8 minutes is an auto 4k. If you leave them like they are, most pallets can be pre-dropped against M1s and survivors don't have to think about resource count at all at higher MMR.
Obviously pyramid isn't the only killer with problematic anti-loop, but more diversity in elevation levels on maps would help him feel better to play against for survivors. As a pyramid player, it might feel crappy though.
-
I think it would be quite cool. I say this as someone that doesn't care for the fnaf games, but I appreciate their uniqueness and imprint on the horror genre. An instantly iconic killer and map, that would bring one of the largest fanbases of young horror fans in existence today? I don't care if there are a lot of weird furries in there. it's good for the life of the game, period

Yes exactly. I love Pyramid Head but this sort of gameplay completely defeats his power. It's not always an issue but when it is the game feels like having to crawl with your chin.
Lol I knew it, a fellow pyramid player. If I find someone that constantly predrops, I will just fire a ridiculous, low % m2 and if it misses I just go find someone else. against good survivors that run away before I am even chasing them, I take it slow and draw on pallets before starting a chase. helps to get the pressure rolling. especially if you use mannequin's foot or music box
-
another nurse main is born before our eyes
also I am going to guess you are playing pyramid. I know this because I main him too. not only is he the most efficient and brutal tunneler in the game, predropping is literally the most frustrating thing possible to face when playing him because the punishment of the damned mindgame just doesn't exist if they predrop early enough

Pyramid Head has the worst addons of any killer in the game. The only ones with any use are the shockwave range ones, and those just train you to misunderstand how far that goes. Everything purple and Iridescent has actually zero in-game benefit, while everything green and lower is both pathetically uninspired AND so miniscule that it is totally imperceptible.
His whole kit needs to be trashed and re-made from the bottom up.
But they never will. Because he's ALSO the most over-hyped yet mysteriously under-played killer on the roster. If you're great at the game, playing Nurse, Blight, or even Twins does way more for you than PH ever could. And if you're not great at the game, the shockwave is so limited and the torment trials so unwieldy that controlling him feels like you're trying to steer a wobbly wheelbarrow. But everyone who DOESN'T play him loves to cluck their tongues and complain how unbelievably powerful his cages are just because they prevent two survivor perks for survivors too lazy to avoid the easily avoidable trails.
I'm a p-head main, and the trails aren't really that hard to control because you're usually drawing them at pallets, loops, and windows. I also think the trail duration add ons are underrated, but yes all others besides range are useless
-
being a pc player, it's very rare that someone actually manages to spin me. but it is still kind of stupid, gameplay wise. very annoying when you play P-head and the counter is to run directly into him when his sword is in the ground lmfao
-
there are a couple worse maps. it's awful, but eyrie of crows is worse

Hex: No One Escapes Death
-Now gains tokens based on remaining Dull Totems standing when the match ends. All of these Totems become Hex Totems. Hex Totems from this point onwards cannot be cleansed or blessed.
-For each survivor placed into the Dying State by any means while NOED is active, one Totem is broken randomly on the map.
-NOED deactivates when there are no Dull Totems remaining on the map.
-When the final generator is competed, all Boon Totems are automatically snuffed. This effect happens before all Dull Totems become Hex Totems.
(i would also combine this with solo information buffs but this wasn't part of the post!!)
that's a great idea honestly, would really incentivize hunting dull totems

If it stopped them from vaulting I would be perfectly fine with it.
That's exactly what I was thinking
-
how about a survivor is incapacitated for X seconds after using dead hard?
-
"survivors need better perks" funniest thing I have read since joining this board
If DS, BT, all exhaustion perks, the possibility of teammates blocking for you, circle of healing to reset... if these things didn't stop you from getting tunneled you probably should have played better (or not queued solo survivor expecting help)
When you get tunneled like this, the killer is probably punished elsewhere on the map by your teammates

Deaf hard gotta get nerfed man I'm sorry.
As a killer main it is not a problem. it's easily baited out and half the time kills the survivor instead of helping them. it's only OP in niche scenarios when they use it to make it to a pallet or window they otherwise wouldn't have gotten
-
Nerf unbreakable and DS, keep dead hard and other exhaustion perks

Eh, there's multiple ways to approach a game as a Plague, imo.
Cleanse or don't cleanse (you're either constantly broken or I'm in my power all match), interact with infected objects or don't (finding survs and puking on them isn't appreciably harder than keeping objects infected), it doesn't change the final result much in my experience. You just have to recognize how a group is going to approach the match and adjust accordingly.
I always find it funny when a team turns on each other for cleansing or not. Doesn't matter much to me.
I think she's a very fair and well designed killer.
absolutely, plague is one of the best feats of game design in dbd. you can tell so much thought went into her kit and gameplay

Yeah, might be that if you lose 3 gens in a single chase and proceed to facecamp then it's cause you have no clue how to properly play killer, and by not engaging in other chases at all then you don't learn anything either
Choosing to not engage in long chases is a conscious decision that comes after the killer feels that he has wasted his time, usually (like you said) multiple gens finishing before you can end a chase. This could be for any number of reasons, maybe you are an M1 killer on the game against good survivors. Maybe 3 people brought brand new part. Maybe you're just a bad killer, or the person you are chasing is an actual god. At a certain point, the killer decides to cut his losses and camp to try and secure at least one kill. Choosing to cut your losses in a bad situation is not "having no clue how to play killer" lmao it's a part of the game
Personally, I choose to stop engaging in chases if I am in a 3 or 4 gen (1 or 2 left) situation, have not scored a kill yet, and I can tell the survivors are good players trying to distract me away from a certain area while someone sneaks around, waiting for me to commit to a chase.

I understand that but its not just that perk. We'll make it for instance is already underused because of bt but it's even more unhelpful against her. Other underused perks as well like renewal as well. And my poor brown medkit lol.
I play plague and play against plague pretty often. The best thing you can do to actually get value out of your medkit or healing perk is cleanse at a fountain that is in the most inconvenient place for her to use, and do not touch objects that are infected unless that object is a hooked survivor. Plague is so weak if she's not getting survivors infected, so if you refuse to do her job for her it slows her down a ton (even if it feels bad to ignore a gen because it is infected, know that you are hurting her)
-
Hit once on hook if the survivor being hooked has a really annoying scream. (feng)
-
Plague is very fair, even moreso right now because she completely invalidates circle of healing
-
These are just such terrible takes on balance, but the worst part is that you have no "good" tier between the top and the "meh". and you think legion is anything besides weak

Imagine all killers having their TR's removed. And having their own iconic sounds amplified.
Pyramid Heads knife screeching as he drags it along. The stomping of Nemesis and Demogorgon. The breathing sound of Pig, Ghostface, Hillbilly, Trapper and the like. The chainsaws rattling of Hillbilly and Bubba.
would be so awesome, just keep the heartbeat somewhat but amplify the unique sounds
-
This lines up with my experience as killer. When I eat a DS I just follow the sound, not the scratch marks
-
how do I deal with everyone using borrowed time and decisive strike? I just play pyramid head lol. draw trails on the loops and tunnel them out at 3 gens, what are they going to do? report me? they have dead hard? I just stick my sword in the ground and fake the m2, it's all so funny

Nah she wasnt that good but neither was the survivors so thats probably why I versed her. She did have some decent perks but that dont make the killer.
Dont get me wrong I'm not saying shes weak, shes just not fun to play and most killers dont get played. Iv versed about 6odd killers in those 50games lol
Nailed it on the fact that she's not fun to play, which is probably the primary reason
-

Shes really not, 50 games iv seen her once and even then she got 5 hooks and that was with a DC.
But shes just not that fun, her gameplay is a little meh in all honesty you just place bird, walk etc
Before I get asked how I know I'm high mmr I have 82% escape rate over the last 50 games.
I feel like you just didn't go against a good artist. Pain resonance + dead man's switch and she just shoots birds at every gen across the map whenever she isn't in chase. It's extremely hard to deal with if you're not in a swf
-
There is also a spot near a hedge line in badham that survivors can crawl into making it impossible to pick up
-
she's played quite often in higher mmr, she is quite strong. but personally, I don't think she is fun to play or play against. the birds seem clunky to use. I thought I was seeing a lot more of her because nurse is disabled. like she's strong, but not fun for either side
-
Are you a part of STARS?
-
I'd rather type out all the doctor add ons from memory than try to decipher this post
-
doesn't this just prove that bubba is strong at really low mmr because people don't know how to position and avoid instant downs?

There are only two maps in the entire game that are decently killer-sided across the majority of the cast, being Midwich and Saloon. On the other hand, there are a great many maps that can just feel like absolute ass across the majority of the killer cast.
All of the Coldwinds are survivor-favored, all of the Badhams are aggressively survivor-favored, Haddonfield was aggressively survivor-favored and probably still will be after its rework, Gideon is pallet heaven and now very survivor-favored, RPD is very survivor-favored, Eyrie is very survivor-favored, and of course both Red Forests are survivor-favored as well. That's 16 maps that the majority of killers tend to struggle on, compared to 2 that the majority is very good on.
That said, the biggest reason people say the game is survivor-sided is because the only killers that have an actually fair chance at winning against equally skilled opponents are the S tiers, while the rest of the killer cast is slowly being left in the dust due to MMR and CoH.
agree on all maps, but I don't understand coldwind. maybe I just haven't been playing long enough but coldwind maps seem balanced to me, how are they surv sided?

I feel like it's not useless as is. I've had a lot of interactions where I spear someone and then instantly get another hit on someone else who was nearby because they were confused, thinking I had disappeared
