So I've been playing DBD since the Of Flesh and Mud Chapter. I've loved the game from then till now. With some of the decisions the devs have made and the overall state of the game just feel like a sweat feast. It no longer fun to play and I've been gravitating to other games for the past few months. I wet through collage playing this game finding it a way to wind down and have fun, I've since graduated and have moved on to a full time job 40 hours a week, working in the labor force. But I've found that DBD doesn't do it for me anymore. Its more frustrating then it is fun and relaxing. Most games I don't want to go all try hard playing killer, (my favorite side) and just go all no mercy. By making sure to bring the strongest addons, the same old strong perks, and using some tactics that most survivors hate. I enjoy mixing things up with odd builds. But with the new SBMM (Skilled Based Match Making) its just made the game boring and toxic, seeing the same few survivor perks gets old fast. I'm thinking about walking away from it. Am I the only one feeling this way?
I've already have neither side is that fun to play anymore same meta, maps, killers, survivors, not much variety, and can't really chill anymore. I don't understand the whole point of adding SBMM into a horror game I mean come on it's a horror game they're suppose to be fun and scary not competitive and a bad stressful way

Heya! As I said before I am new, so I know that survivors have made rules for killers. Can someone tell me what they all are. I think I have some of them.
No camping
No tunneling.
Don't use NOED
Don't use Blood Warden.
Don't hook in basement.
Don't play spirit
And don't use iri head if you play huntress.
Is there anything I am missing?
There is 1 rule for both sides and that is there are no rules.

I've seen many players get salty at me because I've beaten them with a meme build and addons that are like meh. In July I played Legion using Hoarder, Distressing, Dark Devotion, and Dead Man's Switch Addons were Smiley Face Pin and Defaced Smiley Pin and one of the survivors said the op killers always win and in the back of my head I'm like A, Legion isn't OP they're at best alright and B, this build is OP? So I don't know Survivor mains are weird sometimes not all of them but, some of them.

If i'm killer I can't find people but win because survivors can't find gens and such If I'm survivor I get lost or caught off guard by all these tight corners and thin halls. I've escaped on this map twice and the amount of times everyone was dead before gens were done is astounding. I loathe this map I don't know anything about RE but I assume there had to be at least one other notorious location that could've been used because this map is absolutely terrible for gameplay of this game. It looks good but that's the only thing good about it.
I enjoy this map for most of the killers there are some that are really bad on it but, overall I think it's fun even as a Survivor it's a very tight indoor map which brings out the horror cause the killer could come around any corner and you wouldn't know if they're on the the floor you're on or not. There's definitely better maps than RPD but, overall a fun map.
-
my suggestion would just have one perk for a swf squad basically every survivor needs to have different perks. If you're solo you won't have a limit cause you ain't in a swf. So if you have a swf in your game and you're the solo player the limit won't affect you.

He uses DH, DS, Unbreakable and Soul Guard and then complain that killer is using meta perks... Hypocrit
He can use perks, item and on most maps you don't need it, because you have often several guaranteed spots for totems and you can spawn looking at hex (which is really dumb). Only map where you need it is Racoon city.
RPD for me (IMO) I actually don't find totem placements to bad but, that's just me

In the last 10 matches, I’ve seen nothing but Ruin and usually Undying too. Not to mention a dramatic increase in tunneling and slugging. The killers all won and that’s very bad balance.
For how difficult it is for survivors to increase their MMRs, the data should show an overabundance of killers using Ruin, Undying, and other slowdown perks that is artificially increasing MMRs of killers. Survivor MMR is not taking this into account, every match is still no chance of survival. This is why there are so many killers with high MMRs and hardly any survivors except for SWF that is able to somehow do the hard to do gens. These perks are not fun to verse every single game and I’m looking for a discussion from the devs on addressing this problem. It has to be acknowledged.
I'm not trying to be rude here Sluzzy but, you must not know about oh I don't know totem perks? Do you ever use Small Game, Counterforce, or Detective's Hunch? Course you don't. Something tells me you don't play to well over all as a Survivor if you complain about killer being OP. Sure some are super good and OP and Ruin and Undying makes them better but there's stuff to help you. Why don't you ever use that stuff it doesn't make sense. If you hate Ruin and Undying run those perks it's not hard.
-
I think I'm now gonna start taking a break from DBD cause it's boring vsing the exact same builds that are full meta, the same killers, the same strong teams, and I can't have fun playing either side now :(

I love the idea of a killer you should avoid looking, like opposite of Ghostface. I have played quite a lot of slender on g-mod back in the days and I did like the way you could move really fast or turn invisible whenever humen aren't looking and the more they look the more they're affected by you. It felt really scary and oppressive playing as a human. Good times when when you're grouped up and Slenderman appears and everyone's screaming and running in random directions and he's picking people one at a time haha! idk how that would translate to DBD though.
I miss Gmod now that you mention that those were fun times but, I don't think Slender would work like that cause he'd have to attack cause Gmod and I guess all his other games he doesn't physically attack you you just look at him and than die.

You must be new here... These devs don't care. Save your time and play another game if you don't enjoy this one in the current state. I stopped spending money on it after sbmm came on because the game won't last long. People are not happy.
I know they don't listen I've seen a lot of it through out my time
-
It's not a terrible idea but, with a couple killers they can preform well on all the maps so I don't know how it would work for all of them.

The only thing I could see making it into DBD from FF would possibly be the Mako monsters. But I suppose there's some overlap there with Resident Evil.
I mean monsters are up for grab since Demogorgan is a thing

the remake's one-winged angel would work wonders as the chase music, but i think having a distorted version of the OG from 1997 would be nice too
i'd also love j.e.n.o.v.a to be the menu screen music LMFAO
I would like a bit of detail when in his Mori he'd say shall I give you despair or I will never be a memory and than in his endgame results if you get a merciless it would play the end of the song and both sides would hear it.

I feel like they should get rid of the instamori. atleast all but one. people think it takes alot of time to get to tier 3 with them. it does not.
he should also get faster pallet breaking in t3.
I don't think it'll go because it's kinda fitting for Myers character. The Entity sometimes looses control over him so he just ends up killing everyone by his hands instead of sacrificing.

But that doesn't fix survivor.
Survivor doesn't need fixing play both sides and you learn a lot more for survivor and see it's not always easy games when playing killer.
Totems again if you can't find totems there's perks to help you map out where they will spawn Small game, Counterforce, detective's Hunch, and there's the maps too. So if you don't want NOED or any other hex totem run one of those perks or item and than perks like Tinker are a little bit more weaker.
Blight also is not that easy to run if you know what you're doing. You gotta hug those corners against him kinda like Oni or do some zig zags to confuse Blight works a lot of the time even with Ruin, Undying, Tinker ain't that bad sure he can get there very fast but, if the team is on multiple gens he's not gonna be able to pressure all of them that easily.
Wraith I think you should play a bunch and see it's not so easy all the time I had friends who said Wraith needs a nerf after he got buffed they played him and realized he doesn't actually need a nerf because it's still not easy sometime
The devs haven't favored any side on this game it looks like it's killer but that's because every killer is unique with a different power and what do survivors have? Nothing. They all play the exact same the perks just change them hence why they mainly change the perks and not the survivors.
You want to finish gens you have perks Resilience, Prove Thyself, Leader, etc and toolboxes to help you
Find the totems? Perks and maps so you don't have to deal with NOED, Ruin, Undying, any of those perks will be gone from Counterforce, Small game, or Detectives Hunch and than Tinker won't be as big of a problem.

Sluzzy is an omega-level Nurse main who treats this game like Overwatch. Seriously, last time I saw their steam stats they were at a few thousand blink hits.
do they only play Nurse?
-
Michael Myers is definitely the scariest one though Wraith as he is now would be close to him however if it was old Wraith not really and Hag well she either scares you or you just don't flinch
-
@Sluzzy said:
I've noticed in the several matches I tried this morning that survivors have no incentive to win because the chances are too low. Ruin, Tinkerer, NOED, BBQ, and so many oppressive perks and all you got is games that feed on altruism and then die. Killers downing too easily and winning with virtually no effort at all. Killers such as Leatherface are way too easy to use. A 1-shot that has no skill requirements is not good. Wraith with uncounterable lunges. This is extremely bad for the game.
Something should be done about that. Survivors need some buffs or killers need nerfs. More pallets, larger maps, more dense fog? Killers balanced for a coordinated genrush leaves out a huge demographic in the game: the solo survivors and the casual swf.
2 Words play killer ;)
-
This is one of the reasons I hate farming and why I don't trust killers even when they're being friendly
-
I remember hearing everyone saying buff Wraith back in the day and now he's buffed and is now good but, now the survivors want him nerfed because he's got good addons and his base kit is good. Wraith isn't that hard of a killer to vs even with his Silent and Bone Clapper bells and his all seeing addon he's still tolerable you just gotta be more on your toes and aware of your surroundings and good teams even solo players will destroy Wraith I've done it and seen it happen many times cause I main Wraith.
-
Each side can have it's difficulties really depends on how good your team and yourself are at looping every killer and knowing which pallets are safe and not safe. Killers they have to know when to split off when a survivor is looping them very well, as well as knowing which pallets to break and which ones are unsafe.
-
Indoor maps because it makes the game more scarier because sometimes you don't know where the killer is coming from.
-
I really enjoyed in her old self before she got reworked where prayer beads made her phase silent and it was just simple to gen grab players and it was scary to vs
-
I would like a buff for him where he's just able to tier up faster by default rather than having to rely on the addons that make it faster

killer was fun at the beginning, now it's just a sweatfest, all the time. It's really so aggravating that The devs in this game are so ignorant to what goes on when you're a high ranking killer.
There's too many overpowered survivor perks compared to killer perks, Some killer perk benefits are so horrible it's laugh worthy, they make you work so hard for the tiniest reward when you look at it.
Maybe if they actually balance out the way killer plays and adjust the maps so every chase isnt a loopathon, and get rid of bloodlust, it's just not fun gameplay for what it's supposed to be. I'm tired of playing spirit or some other killer that's strong, they don't actually take a look at why theres a small list of killers viaable in high ranks, it's cuz most suck eggs compared.
There's a lot of perks that are good for Survivors and Killers
Survivors got DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, BT, Adrenaline, etc. Killers got Ruin, Pop, Tinker, Noed, Corrupt, etc.
Each killer can perform very well in Red ranks even the weaker ones sure they may have more of a harder time but, they can definitely get the job done. Take Myers for example he's not that good overall has he's only an m1 killer however one good use of tier 3 can get you a nice comeback.
-
I think Nemesis is pretty good once you get the hang of him same as trickster if you're accurate with the daggers he's quiet intimidating and Pinhead well I can't really say much as I didn't do to much with him in the PTB so I guess I'll decide when he comes out
-
Use Noed as many times as you want it's a perk in the game and you're aloud to use it who cares if survivors will complain about it if it's in the game you can use it
-
I would like an option in the endgame results we see if the team you vsed was a swf or a solo
-
Nurse easily she goes through pretty much every object in the game. Spirit can not do this she can easily mindgame you but, a good nurse is gonna get you quicker than a good Spirit will
-
@Sluzzy said:
This is a general discussion about how these perks are too strong.
The killer meta is overpowered and is a substitute for skill.
Can't stop the gens? Use Ruin.
Prevent the objective? Use POP.
Need more help stopping gens? Use Undying.
Need even more help stopping gens and help finding survivors before they can finish the hard to finish objective? Use Tinkerer.
Need more very easy to obtain bloodpoints for OP addons and auras to find survivors and stop the objective? Use BBQ.
NOED instantly causes the need to do 10 objectives. Devour Hope does exactly that as well.
Meanwhile, the killer objective cannot be changed or delayed.
Way too strong and is very unfair. These need to be nerfed.
It promotes unfun and unhealthy gameplay. It is causing genrush teams to be the only way to have a chance to win. With it being impossible to hide from so many aura and tracking perks, and killers having less and less counterplay, sitting on generators with no interaction with killer is the only way to win.
Until these are nerfed, if the killer wins with these perks you can't brag or feel good in the endgame. You didn't win. The perks won.
Sluzzy I really wanna know how many times have you played Killer cause judging by the comments I've seen from you it sounds like you never played killer.
Ruin, pop, undying great for good coordinated teams and hard maps like Mother's Dwelling, Ormond, Gideon, Haddonfield, etc.
Tinker is great for info and sneak attacks but, for some killers by the time you get there (depending how far you are from it) the gen pops and BBQ you may know where they are but, if it's a cross the map that survivor could move to a different spot very quickly and avoid BBQ I've seen it happen many times and if they do get found they're probably miles ahead and most killers will have a bit to catch up.
NOED break the totems than you won't have to worry about it same with Devour, Ruin, and Undying all the hex totems use Counter Force and Small Game and Detectives Hunch or bring a map there's perks and an item to help you right there.
Survivors can use BNP, Prove Thyself, Resilience, Object, Spine, Leader, etc to finish there objective quicker.
So the killer can use slow down and info perks to help slow down the survivors objective and help with there own objective.
Also there's many other perks to help Survivors with info to use kindred, Bond, Empathy, Alert, Object, Deja Vu, etc there's so many perks and items to help you yet I doubt you've use them.
Play Killer in red ranks against a very good team and tell me how you do after that.

Y'know, old old Freddy. He just felt so unique to go against, even If he was weak. Current Freddy might as well be a clown that places bottles on the ground.🤣
I would say yes and no Freddy for me though I enjoyed his unique playstyle he had back in the day I do prefer this Freddy kinda mainly because it was kinda sad to see the most iconic horror villain (next to Jason) be the worst killer in the game. Now he's one of the better killers which imo is where he should be.

This is what I do when I'm dealing with stress I'd put on some Zelda music because Zelda has some peaceful tunes especially Wind Waker's tracks they're very relaxing and another thing I would do is maybe chat with a friend or watch some youtube videos that you really like.

I don't mind being tunneled. But being excessively camped/slugged totally kills my mood to play survivor and I switch to killer if it happens 2 or 3 games in a row. You're essentially AFK when those two things happen. Mind you I'm not talking about proxy camping or slugging for pressure, it's the pure facecamping or killers that slug for absolutely no reason.
I'm the same except it doesn't kill my mood for me if that happens and I'm out with only like 5k points I'm like oh well next game and just move to killer because I can get more points when playing killer.

Yeah but the thing with dms is that getting msgs there are a lot more harsh and insulting they will do it in chat too but I witnessed too many horrible texts because they are texting me directly and they can write what they want and nobody will see it in chat others will see it etc so I just turned it off for my own sake
well your choice if you want to keep it off you go right ahead the dms can be very bad

I am fairly new at the game and my input my be unjustified but wraith is to strong as a stealth character. He moves fast when he is invisible but also gets the speed boost when he goes visible. This makes actually getting away from him very difficult.
Maybe add a terror radius for him or take the speed boost away. Open to suggestions.
I now just leave whenever I find out I am going against a wraith killer. It is not fun at all and refuse to endure it.
I had a couple friends at one point said Wraith was to strong until they played him and realize what to do and what not to do against Wraith. If you play him against good players he can be destroyed. I'm a Wraith main and I couple days ago I vsed a very strong team on Lery's which is very strong for Wraith and I only got 6-7-8 hooks I don't know around there and only 1 kill so if you know what you're doing you can beat him pretty easily.

Very helpful discussion, which I'm sure new killers will benefit from. Straight to the point and good to see an elemwnt on being prepared for negative comments, etc..
I'd also add that when trying a new killer, do not be affraid to abuse your power. Especially when it comes to learning trickier killers like Nurse, it's much better to lose but learn how best to use the power to your advantage. Early trials can simply be training exercises, so don't worry whether you're against great, average or poor players. If anything, you can learn a lot from a good player.
Yes also abuse your power and know when and where to use I forgot to say that. Thank you for mentioning it

I play both equally and both roles are stressful af most of time either because your team-mates or getting camped tunelled or going against toxic squads etc etc but at this point I stopped caring and I just play and what happens happens
Same for me I play both sides. I do prefer playing killer as it's more action but, I get what you mean on both sides being stressful sometimes. However, when I play if I loose I'm like ok well on to the next game I might make a comment but, it's not gonna be like super negative cause however how I lost is something that's in the game and I just except it.
-
That's just the matchmaking in the Evening. It's all over the place in the Evening to early Morning. Doesn't matter if you're playing Solo, SWF, or Killer matchmaking will always be weird at this time
-
So if the killer is hook camping how about don't go for the save and do the gens the player will than learn at some point and realize this isn't a good idea I'm loosing the game. The same thing for Endgame when everyone's alive and the killer has 1 hooked survivor they won't leave because that's all they can do if they leave it's sometimes a free escape depending how well the others can protect that survivor if the killer comesback.
-
There's scenario's where the Zombies are very nice I had a game recently on hawkins and the Nea I was chasing twice got cornered by the zombies and even myself at points I've been running from Nemesis and than out of no where I run into a Zombie.
However you aren't wrong in a lot of ways the zombies can be kinda dumb but, in general that's the case with a lot of AI in other video games. They're either really good, average, or just not the best
-
I'm gonna say Dead Hard and also BT is very strong to very good for endgame and other scenarios
-
this is hard to think of cause I like to mess around with all of them sometimes. Probably for me
1, Ruin
2, Tinker
3, discordance
4, Sloppy
5, Pop
6, Oppression
7, Monitor
honorable mention to Third Seal and Devour
-
Wraith because he was my first killer back when in 2017 when he sucked and at one point I switched to Amanda but, than I went back to Wraith love his playstyle and I love sneaking up and scaring survivors as him plus he scares me a lot when I end up vsing him
