Legion is almost as boring as Freddy, especially with stacked slow downs.
I dont personally hate doctor, it's annoying to go against those that just spam their power while chasing showing that they have no idea how to time it and just want easy hits. Versing a good doctor is something really fun imho, even though it usually ends up in a loss.

That’s fair i disagree on the mindgame side of things though because in my opinion there are a limited number of mindgames that can be done on both sides and i can understand how stealth gameplay can be boring but i do quite enjoy how bewildered the killer is when you just disappear on him
Disagree on the limited number of mind games, many of them differ based also on the killer one is facing/playing
Genuine question to op: if chases bore you both as survivor and killer, doing survivor objectives bore you too, what keeps you playing?

Well...my opinion...you're using ruin thana on legion... Which means you're going to drag the game out for as long as possible. Boring. You are using franklin's. Cringe. Boring with a side of cuck. Lullaby...another cuck perk.
You asked why and you can use whatever you want, honestly not telling you to do different, but, people are going to DC that boring ass ######### with a side of cuck. Why bother with that crap game when I can DC and insta queue in a fresh game?
People seem to think that DC's are only rage quits. Not true. A lot of people just don't want to waste their time on frustrating, long, drawn out games. I'm here to have fun not suffer through your legion cuck simulator.
Anyway that's my guess as to why people are dc'ing you. If it happens a lot its because of you, your choice of killer, your choice of perk. Seems like you might be decent at legion since you don't run add-ons, which makes all of the above even more miserable to play against.
Aside from the terrible wording, your third paragraph nailed it: it's not a rage quit, it's moving on to a game that won't bore myself to death
-
Legion is already boring af to verse. If I see any slow down perk, be it ruin, thana or whatever, I'm out
Same for Freddy btw
-
Great point. Medkits are by far the item I hate most going against, it's one of those things that seem 'fine' but if you think about it are completely busted when 2-3 survivors already are running them. It basically nullifies snowballing

Doing gens while the killer is not chasing you is literally the best way to ensure survival ######### are you on about?

Everything in any competitive game should 100% be balanced around the highest level of play, because that's where you actually come up against the limitations (or lack thereof) with specific mechanics, perks, add-ons, etc.
If you balanced any game around the lowest common denominator, all the stealth killers would've been removed day one because they scare new players, and Scratched Mirror Myers would've never been made because he's "uncounterable." Killers would've had pallets and loops removed because they'd take all match to catch a decent survivor, etc.
You must always balance around the top-end. That does not mean make it unfun for lower skilled players, but fun and balance generally go hand-in-hand. Some early confusion and frustration at mechanics you don't understand (especially in DBD, where the tutorial is Z-tier and the game tells you almost literally nothing about anything beyond how to move) is part of getting skilled, but having the game changed because you vaulted the window behind the survivor every time would be bad for everyone.
I stopped reading after you said "competitive game". Dead by daylight, like it or not, is not competitive

If you can´t see how SC forces stupid as ######### counterplay you´re either not exactly an experienced player, in which case I´d like to let this one slide, or you´re just a biased little #########. Which one is it?
It gets the blendette and the urban evading Meg/Nea away from the gen they're working on as soon as it lights up, effectively slowing down the progress. Any other player will simply be more alert, especially if they don't hear a heartbeat, but that's what happens anyway because never hearing a heartbeat after 20-30 seconds of working on the first gen should already spark some questions.
Spine chill is strong but it doesn't replace the value of other meta perks that have much more preferable effects, which is why it's fine as it is

@Slashstreetboy said:
I´m about 75/25 Killer/Survivor currently. My list goes like this:
- Object of Obsession nerfed tremendously to a point where it gets jealous of MoM. It´s the strongest thing in the game if used by SWF
- Slight nerf to SC. Great perk, but the Killers that get hurt by it aren´t exactly great to begin with and are shoehorned into riddiculous amounts of counterplay. It does it´s job a bit too good.
- The so called "small PP build" DS+UB should get adressed in some way as well as the "ultra small pp build" DS+UB+SG
- Balance changes to keys. I´d like to see them being released in tandem with Mori changes as to prevent an unbelievable uproar
- Remove DS locker tech
I can´t think of any others, as the topic of solo vs swf doesn´t seem too fitting here.
Remove the ds locker tech so there's literally no way to counter a first hook mori from a tunneling killer? Kk
Also imagine complaining about spine chill
-
I still believe ds and the ds + ub combo are fine.
What I believe should be nerfed is actually UB+SG combo. Man that's so annoying. Talking about anti momentum. Something like SG should guarantee the endurance state only if someone else picks you up, or if there's a hex totem up.
And nerf map sizes, ffs how is it that they still didn't address mothers dwelling and other maps

As a PH Main I will say again, I never use his ranged attack because of how awful it is. It was only useful in ONE SINGLE CIRCUMSTANCE and that was when survivors were locked in an animation. Its too slow, has too little range, and while they reduced the recovery period it won't solve the other two issues. Its just too easy for a survivor to either sidestep it, or as I have encountered on several occassions due to the long ass animation, even flat out outrun it at times. Similar to how awful the cages are at the moment, POTD is also pretty awful both powers being far too situational now. When I play PH I pretty much just use the trails and torment to score executions because the rest of his abilities suck.
Maybe you just want to get good? You said two posts ago that you didn't even know you could use his power through palelts/windows/walls. Pyramid head main btw

A "killer or two"?
Nurse -> Spirit -> Freddy -> Billy -> PH
All within the last year..
Nurse is still the strongest killer in the game and spirit's changes were non nerfs that didn't impact her at all. What changes did Freddy get again? The rework made him a lot stronger - and boring -.
Billy needed the addon changes. Some of those addons were broken. The base kit though.. He didn't i can agree with that
PH's faking ability shouldn't have been introduced to begin with. It was since ptb that people complained about it. About time they removed it

What do you think is her best add on? I personally think its pocket watch.
Personally I like the wooden horse. I use it when I want to play chill or when I'm tired and don't want to be too punished for missing attacks
Best combo of addon imho is green blink recharge + purple range

Tooth is bad because its only for one minute. I don't use add-ons at all, either, because I'm saving up. I have never used omega blink because personally I like to save up add-ons. I've never used a range add on in my life. If I use add-ons, which is rare btw, the ones I use are fragile wheeze( I think-its the green recharge one) and pocket watch, which is my favorite add on. It gives more time to react to what survivors are doing, and it's really good if you accidentally under charge. Also unless the description is wrong, blink recharge doesn't stack. And it's kind of sad too, because catatonic boys treasure( the yellow fatigue add on) is better than the green one( ataxic respiration.) Both of her ultra rares hinder her a lot, and she has multiple bloodpoint ones that hinder her as well.
It's still a free perk though. Usually I don't play with addons as well, except the undetectable one when I sense an object incoming, or, if I'm feeling like having fun at the expenses of survivor, I either do omegablink or 1 blink recharge and 1 blink range :D

I dont play her with add-ons, also most of her add-ons do nothing or hinder her, so doesn't that, by your logic, mean that since I'm not using addons that make nurse weaker, I'm boosted? And I do use pop, but thats because people always genrush on nurse games.
What do you mean they hinder her? Omegablink is arguably better than the old one: same range but doesn't ######### up with muscle memory, double recharge almost gives back old base kit nurse, spoon and tooth give a free perk slot (stridor and NC), the fatigue ones are pretty good too.
I agree the rest is nothing special or utter trash, although I do personally like the addon that makes you undetectable paired with perks that give similar effect like trail of torment (for 32 seconds of undetectable every 60), especially when against OoO :D

If you go for nurse like other players recommended, just know that you won’t learn anything about looping. You’ll become a rank 1 nurse and still be a rank 20 anything else (except maybe spirit and Freddy which are easy af, then you’ll stick to rank 2 with them).
So, learn nurse to have a killer with a completely unique play style, but I’d recommend wraith too to learn looping and mindgaming. Bear in mind they’re both pretty difficult, nurse because of her blinks, while wraith because he’s purely m1. You might lose for a while even badly, but if your mindset is that of getting better then I guess you can endure some losses at first
-
Love it how many people say that crutch perks are perks you can’t win without, but then for the most part only survivor perks are mentioned except for noed (as usual). Isn’t this forum the place where “slow down perks are needed because gen speed is too fast”?

Yeah so i don't think you're playing decently.
Killer's emblems are far more hard to get than survivors lmao , as a survivor : Loop / gen rush / unhook Gg you piped without any difficulties , as a killer : Make sure they don't gen rush, make sure they don't heal but don't camp or you lose points (but how do i avoid the healing then?) , make sure you made 9 actions with the hook , make sure you've hit the survivors enough, make sure the chases are short (even tho looping is all survivors motto and its almost impossible to end a chase quick if they are not potatoes).
But yeah killer emblems are definitly so easy to get , i think you didn't reach red ranks many times or you faced potatoes all the way up
What am I reading LMAOOO

Even though he might not saying it nicely, I have to agree with him.
You have gen rush and gen rush.
You have teams who have builds to just rush the gens as fast as possible, like all gens done, exit gates open within a 5 minute time.
All this when 1 survivor is getting chased and usually a 4 man swf on comms.
And you have teams where the killer applies a little pressure to gens.
Usually it is because the killer plays with noed and just focus on 1 person.
And you have where it's just a too big of a map to being able to pressure gens.
Think about mother's dwelling and temple of purgation, with a 12.000 square meters of of the biggest maps in the game.
So yeah gen rush is an issue and personally I find 80s for 1 survivor a reasonable time, but how many times are you doing a gen solo?
In my experience very rarely.
I wouldn't mind if they change that to for example if 2 survivors working on the same gen it's only a 10s faster, and it drops with 10s for each survivor working on that gen.
And the other issues.
Yes there is definitely a drop in fps, I too have times where the game stuttered or freezes for a sec.
Getting hit because they took away the hit validation beta which worked for me.
I haven't noticed anything with huntress, but I'm not saying that it wasn't an issue.
So yes the game has some serious issues on all platforms, and some issues are very easy to notice 😉✌️
He didn't say it badly, he made no sense at all, and put a bunch of stuff in my mouth that I never said. Only thing I said is gen speed is (mostly) fine, and he 'accused' me of ignoring other issues as well and immediately assumed I'm a survivor main, because telling people they're bad killers automatically makes me a survivor main right?

No one is complaining. And of course you do think so, maybe you're braindead like tofu too. Ignoring big facts of the game and problems like gens speed, FPS drops, stuttering, dedicated servers, system validation hit just because "it's funny to press M1 on a gen and tunneling and we have cosmetics and if you don't like gen speed, new killer pinball or whatever your terrible at the game ggez" lmfao what a great thought. Remember kids watching fog Whisperers decreases your IQ jeez.

What is actually wrong with hooks? I have played a lot of games since the patch was released, but I had no problems with hooking people.
It is possible that when pressing space bar to hook someone, nothing happens. It can be solved by either spamming space bar or dropping the survivor and picking them up again.
I personally never had it, but saw it on different streams

I wouldn't say childish, as some of the stuff in game makes it evident that it's in the survivor's favour. However creating threads like these, basically insinuating that the developers care more about the survivor side, attempting to provoke an argument on survivors vs killers IS childish.

The only killers that aren't addon reliant are nurse and freddy. Every other killer needs some kind of addon to be good. Depending on the killer it might not be so bad. For example, all pig needs is combat straps. All Demo needs is the rat liver. Without it though, Demo is trash. Pig can get by, but her stealth game is much weaker.
The rest require addons:
Trapper - Needs bags
Wraith - Needs windstorm
Billy - Needs turning addons
Nurse - Is best with Kav's breath/Fragile wheeze but can go without any addons
Myers - Needs more stalking speed.
Hag - Needs trap teleport distance
Doctor - Needs Shock speed
Huntress - Needs windup speed
Bubba - Needs chainsaw movement speed
Freddy - Is best with Chains/Rope but can go without anything
Pig - Really likes Combat straps/Dash charge speed
Clown - Needs reload speed increase
Spirit - Needs either power movement speed or power recharge rate
Legion - Needs Frenzy duration
Plague - Needs an apple
Ghostface - Needs power recharge
Demo - Needs shred movement speed
Oni - Needs Charge windup speed
Deathslinger - Needs reload speed
PH - Needs m2 range increase
Blight - Needs compound 21.
Arguably a few killers can go without but they are significantly less effective. Pig can probably go without her addons. Ghost face probably an too. But 75% of them are terrible without their best addon.
Hahaha nice one
-
Good luck - never tried nurse on console but she's so fun. Hope you enjoy
-
Usually I stay to give the killer 1 or 2 more hits
I know they might be upset because we're escaping, especially if they played well, but I don't feel like this is bming.
-
DAVIDS
Dodge all Davids, they're smug and terrible, always. All Davids I've encountered are those kind of 'god loopers' that reach a pallet, drop it immediately and run to the next tile. They think they're good because wow they looped the killer for 3 gens before going down, now 2 gens are left and the whole map is a complete deadzone
-
So in order for a killer to "win", he must kill all 4 survivors, but in order for a survivor to "win", he must survive himself regardless of what happens to the other team mates?
How is this fair in any way? It's unfair for the killer and unfair for the other survivors too
-

Ever since Otz talked about hag being strong, everyone has been jumping on the hag bandwagon. She's very overated. The fact that you NEED decent addons immediately tells you that she's addon reliant, and the fact that the best and most effective way to play her is by playing scummy really shows something. It's not an achievement when you 1 hook ppl in basement as hag because theres no way of getting them out. Plus a good team knows how to keep popping traps and rendering her power useless, as well as how to counter her power in chase, which just involves running to another loop everytime she puts a trap down.
Its not that since Otz said it then people mindlessly followed his opinion, it has always been known that hag is very strong. Scott for example has always said she's strong.
She has insane snowball and chase potential if she decently places her traps which, unlike trapper's, have no downsides, and unlike you said, she's not addon dependant at all. I'd actually argue that she needs another addon pass, as her add-ons make her insanely stronger and even more of a crutch than she already is (yes I'm looking at you rusty shackles and mint rag)
The reason why 'suddenly' people realized is because she is not a very played killer (since let's be honest, she boring to play and to verse for most people) but was effectively used during that tournament.
