As a killer, my favorite map is saloon. Least favorite is Ormond.
As a survivor I don't really have a favorite map. I just hate all indoors.
-
If I know people are crouching around in proximity of a hooked survivor I don’t mind proxy camping, but I don’t “face camp”
-
The day spirit gets nerfed to the ground I will probably still sleep peacefully, not bother at all
-
I love to use insidious after rank reset when all the OoO come out from their cave. Nurse with insidious is super fun
-
I think some of you need to get out of their basement and get to know people, maybe you’ll make some friends too to play with :)
-
Daily, and even then, only on death hook
-
He shouldn't get nerfed, but they should rebalance the cooldowns: if he misses his range attack, the cooldown is super long -> it should be shortened. At the same time, he can keep baiting the ranged attack and then just M1 with no cooldown at all. They should add an animation lock inbetween

I'm sorry but if a killer finally snowballed in the end game and the Survivors only managed to escape through the use of a crutch perk then they ######### up. EGC, unless triggered by a hatch close, is entirely Survivor sided meaning if they got three active DS's the Survivors intention was to force use from their perk and BM the killer instead of just leaving and letting the killer secure their one pity kill.
Also, some killers don't get pressure until mid to end game, some players have problems with chases and rely on altruism to get their downs, and some players with the new MMR are being absolutely screwed right now.
Listen up people did you hear this? Trying to save your fellow team mates is.. Get ready...
drumroll
BMING THE KILLER
-
Keep it this way please. The last thing I need is a notification every 7 seconds on something I already know is happening
If more people are on a gen while you're in a chase, they are unlikely to leave it before you're done. If you're not in a chase, you don't need 58w993483920 notifications to know where to go.
Don't change it kthxbye
-
NOED shows the killer's insecurity because it implies that they will reach EGC in the first place

I mean what do you expect from perks when something like fixated exists which only works when not injured?
Some time ago I would've agreed with this, but honestly I changed my mind and I think that it's good that fixated only works on uninjured survivors.
Honestly it would really be too strong on injured survivors too, other than the fact that it would promote a kind of play that personally as a survivor, but especially as a killer, I find extremely boring to verse: stealth. I'd rather be looped for 5 gens by an extremely good survivor than not fininding anyone until games over because they just urban evade around

The killer running Infectious Fright already has to fill conditions to activate the perk's effects. The idea of having the terror radius as one of the condition (and not a flat 32m) is to allow for perk synergy. As for the cooldown, adding something like this would greatly diminish the strength of the perk and we think it is unnecessary in it's current form.
Survivors choosing to remain in the killer terror radius while a teammate is getting chased nearby are taking a risk. Infectious Fright is a perk that makes this risk greater if the chase comes to an end. We think it is doing what it has been designed for.
TLDR
At the moment, we have no plans to change Infectious Fright.
Why does surge have a cool down?

You deserve your loss for playing that huntress build lmao get good and stop complaining

I'm saying people who want to play competitive shouldn't be in the same queue as casual players. It's not fun for anyone. I don't have fun against W gamers or meme squads and they don't have fun against me. Why should we be in the same queue when we're trying to play two very different versions of the game?
Because that won't change anything. Do you really think separating the queues will stop people who play competitive from queueing casual and still play as competitive? That actually will make everything worse, with a lot more complaining

Ran into a 'sweat squad' yesterday.
Took about 3 minutes to get 1st down (Legion - BBQ / Thana / Thrilling / Mindbreaker...Brown and Yellow Buttons) - 2 gens were done.
This person was obviously their "looper." Camped them out of the game (stopping/deterring a couple of rescues).
1 gen was left when he died.
Mindbreaker was pretty clutch in the 3-Gen, and the last guy got hatch.
30k and a pip - They all ran Meta.
At the end of the game, they asked why I camped that guy in particular - I explained, and they replied with something along the lines of "Yeah, we're a 4 stack, and you're the first person to catch him tonight - He's our looper/keeps people busy while we pound out gens."
They reaffirmed that I had, absolutely, made the right play, which was to get rid of him asap.
It was actually really refreshing to converse with them, as they were able to let me know what each of them was doing at separate times, while also realizing that I'd made the right call in that scenario.
I wonder if a good alternative, after downing him, would have been to simply ignore him and go for someone else.
I like that they were friendly in after chat. It really is refreshing to have a friendly chat with the opponent after winning/losing in an overall fun game

I don't think the issue is sweat squad power level or perk power level. The issue is that players have absolutely no indication as to what style of lobby they've just joined. You might want to chill on Clown with Furtive Chase and other LOL tier perks, but the survivors might be a competitive style SWF and you have no indication that you should prepare for that. Or survivors might want to goof off and that killer might be practicing for a tournament. This game throws casual and competitive players into the same queue and says "Have fun!". BHVR can pretend it doesn't exist all they want, but the reality is that this game has a rapidly growing competitive scene with playstyles completely at odds with what casual players consider fun, and vice versa.
But that's part of the random match making process. The algorithm cannot 'know' you want to play a meme build or chill. If you want to just meme, a loss should be acceptable from your pov (and here we go again to the point where I stated that I know it's not fun to go against them) and same for survivors who want to goof and get matched against a stridor pop spirit

Except they are not rare.
Except they don't take a lot of skill and many hours, since survivor skill-ceiling is literally holding M1 and "loop" for 60 seconds, and they win by exploiting the game.
Except even if they are rare, like 1 out of 10 games, they are still a problem. Less of a problem is still a problem that should be addressed.
Nah ur prolly just bad if u think they're not rare
-
No, the argument was not that they should not be nerfed because rare, but because nerfing these kind of squads simply cannot be done without in someway nerfing survivor as a whole. Solo queue is already hard as it is, it cannot be made even harder just to counter a negligible minority of the playerbase
-
Killer: nurse (my nick kinda gave it away right?) because I just really like how her power is somewhat unique compared to all others. For the same reason, I also like plague, but don’t play her that much
Survivor: Claudette and Jake. Claudette because when I was new I started with her and like with any other game I somewhat grow attached to the main character with whom I ‘discover’ the new world/mechanics ecc.
Jake because he’s husbando material

Aiming for a 2k average doesn't justify that the game is unbalanced and favors survivors
It doesn’t though lol
-
His point is another though, I did mention myself it's frustrating and not fun, and he's addressing them, not the killers (except the passive aggressive take at the beginning of the video, which I completely agree with)
-
To all those who said something like "only way for us to win is for survivors to make mistakes".. I'm just... Idk.. Are you really so insecure about your own abilities that you think you are unable to turn a chase or the game in your favor unless the opposite team makes a mistake? That really just means, again, you need more experience, it has nothing to do with them being op.

Literally some of the best streamers use pop constantly because it's the only good slowdown perk there is. By that logic any survivor who runs DS, BT, any second chance perk is just bad and unable to loop properly. Right?
Gotta love how every time someone discusses a killer perk, survivor meta perks get mentioned. Love the strawman. Also no, some of the most POPULAR killer streamers run pop. That’s different from BEST. Broaden your horizons and you’ll see how many streamers actually refuse to run that perk, or any slowdown perk for the record, and are consistently getting 4ks at rank 1.
If you want a response on survivor meta perks: yes DS arguably needs a nerf (gotta love getting stunned at the 59th second after I hooked at least another person), BT is fine as it is, same as unbreakable and DH. It’s easy to play around them (don’t slug, don’t tunnel? And once you know a survivor has DH, he can’t fool you again).

lmao you have 0 experience with either perks.
Pop isn't "Disgustingly broken" it rewards you for performing a basic objective as killer.
Surge's cooldown was never a problem it's only a mere 40s, the problem is the basic attack condition/distance from gens.
Or maybe I do and am able to understand that pop is disgustingly broken because survivors are already pressured by the unhook, and along that they get a 25% gen regression. Just 4 hooks and they basically have to complete a 6th gen. As usual, any killer who relies on pop is just bad because unable to pressure properly.
-
@Warcrafter4 said:
Surge is a perfect example of an overbalanced perk:
It has 1 effect: Generators regress by 8%
and 5 conditions:
- When you down a survivor.
- With a basic attack.
- Within 32 meters.
- When off cool-down.
- (Not said but is a mechanic)If the generator isn't already effected by surge's regression.
Is there a single survivor perk with FIVE CONDITIONS in the game?
Indeed, I love the concept of surge: not disgustingly broken like pop, but pretty neat. The cool down though is overkill, considering all the other conditions.

Bug abusing and exploiting is a bannable offence. Unfortunately the reporting system is kinda bad: hope you reported the cheater both with the in game option and in the support website by opening a ticket where they also ask for the steam ID of the cheating player. You should provide video evidence as well if possible, that way you’re sure he will get banned

@ins0 said:
It's all very simple, really - their entire decision making and balancing is done around keeping the survivor population happy and playing so they keep buying those extremely overpriced cosmetics. Survivors FAR outweigh killers in terms of numbers so keeping them happy and playing makes sense from a business perspective (the same business perspective that killed so many games before DbD).
They balance the game with the above in mind, first and foremost. Secondly, the balance is done around a game where the survivors are supposedly each playing alone, with no way of communicating with eachother other than in-game mechanics and their game knowledge.
As you can see, these things are heavily impacted by the fact they introduced a new way to play the game, without actually acknowledging the fact that it is a new way of playing the game. I am ofc talking about the SWF or Survive With Friends where you can bring up to 4 friends into your game, be on voice chat and then proceed to abuse all the mechanics the game affords.
Remember the part about the game being balanced around having 4 strangers to eachother surviving against a mad killer? Yeah, that part. It gets extremely overpowered against all but the very best 200iq killers in the game. They make use of complementing builds and play certain roles where they micromanage every action and perk usage to the absolute second. This is easily achieved by even bad SWFs considering all the 2nd chance perks in the game and the fact that the entire shabang caters to survivors making a ton of mistakes and being excused and given escape opportunities from basically any situation.
To conclude, the Devs are outright lying to the killer community and base all their decisions around the monetary aspect of the game aka the survivor piggies, who invest tons of $$$ into the game. The killers are kept just barely relevant and happy, enough to make them come back for more (up until the point where every killer main is going to get burned out with this cycle) to keep the games going.
Don't listen to what the development team is SAYING, see what they DO and the types of changes they implement. Sound advice for real life as well - be cynical and always assume there is an ulterior motive to things people say and do. Most times, you will be surprised that having this view actually shows you the truth..or just "Live, Love, Laugh" and PMA yourself into oblivion.

Fun is the whole reason most of us play the game. What’s your point?
-
This is generally speaking, it is also somewhat add on dependent: I find mirror Myers in indoors maps extremely fun to verse, while an Iri head huntress can uninstall the game and burn their pc along with all Freddy players for all I care, it’s just insta dc as long as there’s no penalty, then back to suicide on hook. I don’t usually quit immediately vs legions unless they use that add on that spreads their stupid TR to all the map or if they have slow down perks. Learn to play the game jfc you don’t need them to win
I find clown unfun because of the blurry screen, just gives me a huge headache. A good spirit is just uncounterable, there’s no mind games, no chase, you just go down. Myers and ghostface because.. uhm.. no real reason? Just don’t particularly enjoy versing them compared to other killers I enjoy more. Deathslinger for same reason as others + *by personal experience* deathslinger players are all bad and resolve to cheap tactics to try to win (they usually lose, but ruin the experience to at least one team mate)
Theres no point explaining why I consider fun the other killers. They’re just fun. It could be argued that a good nurse is a uncounterable as a spirit, but I guess the “experience” is somewhat different, making her extremely fun to verse
Also, “baby” killers are unfun to verse, because it makes it just easy. I honestly feel bad for them when I end up against and try to give them tips. Also hate when team mates bully them because they see they’re new.
-
Just remove legion from the game please. Second most boring killer to verse after Freddy, especially if they’re using the usual slow down build that puts you asleep
-
I don’t mind them that much. I usually try to eat a ds early game if It’s really obvious. It does happen sometimes that I misjudge how much eating it will cost me and it basically settles the game

Nah it’s always you being bad at the game because you can’t win without cheap tactics

I hope the next chapter will solely be dedicated to bug fixing (NURSE, FIX NURSE FOR GOODNESS SAKE) and redesign of bad/rarely used/overly used perks in order to give the possibility to both survivors and killers to have a multiple choice for ‘meta’ builds and not only the usual ones.
No new killer, no new survivor, no new map.
-
@Financial_Stability said:
Honestly, they do tend to focus on survivors when it comes to bug fixes. Look at Nurse, it's been close to a year and every match without fail there is at least one bug which ranges in detriment to my match. From the chain blink click not playing at the right time to stuns while blinking having you fatigue instead of be stunned and you're moving at full speed while looking at the ground. Or the infinite blink bug where the sound replays the first bit of the charge and the hand looks wrong. Not to mention latency being an issue for her.
It's just not their priority.
Not to mention the new map where you simply can't blink in some zones lol
-
As usual, Freddy = suicide on hook :) puts me asleep irl too, disgustingly boring
-
@coppersly said:
As a Nurse main god yes.
I'd even be ok with like slowing down and releasing a new killer every 5~ months instead and focusing way more on bugs. I don't think anyone would complain about a mid-chapter patch being nothing but extensive bug fixes.
Feel you.
-
Just Freddy being Freddy
-
This is why I feel Scorpionz is one of the best streamers around. Consistently gets 4ks as pig main (and perkless nurse/spirit), without using crap perks such as pop, who’s only effect is to reward bad killers while not teaching them at all how to properly pressure a map, but only relying on slow downs and perks who’s only effect is to massively forgive mistakes on the killer’s side.
Him alone shows how 99% of the killer mains in this forum are just terrible players upset by their own bad gameplay who just want the 4K to be handed to them on a silver plate without putting any effort at improving. “But sfw, ds and blabla” and “gen rush meta” what am I even reading lmaoooo just get good ffs.
Pop IS the most broken perk in the game. It’s actually insane how survivors complain about noed when pop effectively reverses their progress while already being pressured by the hook, and it definitely needs a nerf. If pop didn’t exist, the game would be much more healthy. 25% regression please give me a break

I have no idea who the hell Messi is but I'm assuming it's a sport related thing since you like making nonsensical comparisons to sports, so I'll consider that irrelevant and move on.
Yes, one survivor escaping is a "win," for that one survivor. Because survivors aren't responsible for everybody else escaping. I don't give a damn how much you care about bloodpoints.
Once again, I don't give a rat's ass how many times I've called survivors a "team." It's because it's an easy thing to refer to them to, not because I think that all of them must work with each other. ######### point, stop wasting my time by bringing it up. No amount of quoting my history and bringing it up is going to make what I'm saying wrong: the survivors don't have to help each other if they don't want to. If you disagree, make an actual point against it or cry me a river. Cry the devs a river too.
It's ironic again that you bring up the whole "some people will argue with anything" when you're literally arguing just for the sake of arguing. You still refuse to actually address how survivors are responsible for each other. All you've done so far is make snide remarks and try to criticize my choice of words of all things. You're so hung up on this whole "team" thing that you're forgetting to make any sort of relevant comeback toward my main point: which is that it's completely allowed for people to look out for themselves whether you like it or not -- the whole essence of why this game isn't a team game. I've explained it to you in detail but all you do is make useless points about completely unrelated things like BP and #########. That has nothing to do with the game being comparable to basketball. Go search through my whole entire flippin' comment history if you want and look for every example you can think of where I said "team" -- it doesn't mean you're right.
And about those quotes, practically any time I say something along the lines of "stick the game out" is replying to somebody who's bitching about going against a killer they don't like, or a survivor that said they killed themselves really early on into the game, or a killer who said that they disconnected because the survivors were doing "toxic" things like "looping." There's a clear difference between that, and MY example earlier, which is when all your survivors are just doing nothing in a corner and not bothering to help anyway. In that case, there is no team, and I don't see any reason why somebody should be looked down upon for just ditching their team the same way their team ditched them. That's pretty much what all those quotes boil down to. So don't even try to make that comparison. You even quoted me saying that I don't think things like slugging or facecamping are bannable, so you have to have seen that I'm somebody who doesn't give up or get salty easily. Yet you still would rather suggest that I personally just want to be able to disconnect/kill myself/whatever, just because I happen to be saying something you disagree with.
You even quoted my response to a thread that was all about the "dumbest reasons you've died/lost" talking about me standing over the hatch waiting for the last survivor to leave, using that as a point for your argument when the whole reason I posted that was talking about how it was a situation where I died and it was dumb. And to the comment you made saying "Why wouldn't they? They get more points for staying and it's not like you were team mates," no you don't "get more points" just for simply existing in the game. It's dumb for the same reason that standing at the hatch/gate teabagging until the killer comes to look at you is dumb. There's no practical gain from it, it's for the purpose of messing around. Once again, nice job making up your own strawman to attack instead of actually paying attention to the content of my post.
I don't know if you're just this disingenuous or if you're a complete moron. You have to have something wrong with you to not understand the main point of what I'm saying, which is that survivors aren't responsible for winning and losing together. They worry about themselves. Almost everything you say is either just criticizing me for saying the term "team" when I disagree that survivors are a true team, and trying to be insulting while claiming that you're not directly insulting people. It's honestly pretty pathetic.
My point has been outlined in detail clearly several times now. Take my points for what they are: "Dead by Daylight is not comparable to a real life physical competitive sport. The survivors are not all responsible for each other. Letting yourself go when your team mates aren't bothering to help you is different from baby raging and disconnecting mid match because you had a bad game." If you continue to refuse to make any counterpoints then I'm not going to waste any more time with your delusional ass. Fight against your own made up arguments that you wish that I was making, I'm not gonna entertain your nonsense any longer.
tldr tbh
