I don't think that's a particularly helpful way to look at this game, or any other. Most games could do with a heck of a lot less realism, in my opinion, and any time a game tries to shoot for that it usually falls flat unless it's like, a survival sim.
However, adding more tools to deal with body blocking could be fun. It's already nice to get off a good Forced Penance or Mad Grit play, maybe a cheeky Starstruck hit, so more tools like that - maybe ones with secondary effects so they're not a wasted perk slot for the rest of the match - would be pretty grand.
Luckily for us. DBD doesn't have to shoot for that. It already has a huge clusterfuck of mindless fans that will eat up anything the developers dish out. If they made it a reality. It wouldn't stop anything. It only takes 1 snowflake to start an avalanche and if you live through that, everything else is a cake walk.

Just making another ticket to raise more awareness on this.
This is not a balance issue, it's game breaking.
Unacceptable.
I'm sure they developers are going to dive deep into the code after years of this being in the game and fix it just for you. ;) They do what they want when they want. Watching them destroy their own game over the last 2 years has been eventful to say the least. GAMEPLAY should be top priority I agree.... The devs however... do not agree.. apparently.

I'm not sure what your problem with bodyblocking and flashlights are- those are good things, survivors doing that are not doing generators and are actively putting themselves in harm's way by trying to get up close to you. Those aren't problems with the state of the game, they're just a part of the game, and a part that you can absolutely play around!
Also, DS doesn't... need to be nerfed again? It's in a pretty healthy spot right now, the only way to use it actively is to do as you described, waste time buzzing around the killer, which again- that's good for you, as the killer. That survivor is not progressing the game and you can very much just ignore them, or down them and make them waste an Unbreakable or get someone to heal them, thus dragging someone else off generators.
Some of the stuff you raised is a problem, though. Boons need looking at (though... not because of Exponential, that perk is pretty weak), there are some pretty awful map designs, and killer Adept achievements are definitely harder than survivor Adepts for basically no reason, so I agree those should be fixed.
Body blocking is stupid. They should make it realistic. Nobody is going to body block Freddy Krueger...or Michael Myers. If you are touching the Killers "box" or whatever, (right next to them for more then 3-4seconds) you should just get damaged. It looks so stupid and makes the Killer look like an idiot. More realism and less Survivor happy fun time BS is needed in this game.

That slow aim is atrocious....
Deathslinger pre-nerf - Modern Warfare 2 (just felt good)
Deathslinger post-nerf - Killzone 2 (way slower. makes him way clunkier WHICH IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST FEELING for ANY FPS...)
The devs had it right the first time. Why would you go back on something like the way he ACTUALLY FUNCTIONS....

The DC penalty literally exists to keep people like you from ruining the game, that is why.
If anything, they really need a 10 minute surrender to address the only valid gameplay related reason for leaving, being held hostage.
The developers should just make it so the # of Gens needed decreases if any Survivors D/C. Forcing people to stay is just going to make more people D/C which ends the entire experience anyway.
-
FAVORITE - Pinhead being put into the game.
LEAST - Pinheads voice being taken out of the game...
-
Deathslinger is trash after that nerf. Anybody who says otherwise lives in some mental "happy place" that was created by their own delusion.
-
Been waiting forever for them to change this. There aren't enough Survivors whining consistently about that specific issue for it to be addressed obviously.
-
More whining Survivors = less fun Killers. Duh.
-
Devs out of touch. Duh.
-
Since DBD first came out actually. Game is just a cluster F of terrible optimization.

it is literally proved otherwise in this thread.
Changing the resolution the game renders at doesn't mean the game should automatically show more in some direction or other; they are indeed quite capable of having it draw a fixed aspect ratio regardless of the resolution the game runs at.
Life finds a way.

Flicks are fine, the problem is addons.
Well whatever. Something feels off. I guess nothing feels completely "on" in DBD anyway so no surprises.

Learn to play against them. Artist is nothing special and Blight well.... He has a few things that need to be ironed out in terms of his movement flicking.

Stop taking the game so seriously and you'll play better.

Let's put a smile on that face! 🙂
I cannot BUMP this enough. Well done sir. Killer players really need to stop expecting a 4k. It was never the goal of the developers to make that a constant happening. People just expect too much of themselves, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the material. Everyone lower your expectations for the video game and try to have some fun. Damn.
-
Pinky Finger should be base in my opinion. Clown is dog ######### without it. Just give us less bottles or something.
-
It isn't that they don't realize. Its that they are powerless to stop it. There is no way to stop something like stretch resolution. The developers lose this by default. Sorry.
-
Bait.
-
Bunch of casual idiots all in the same place eh? Anyone who thinks like this doesn't play both sides or you do play both sides but are not "efficient" at playing Killer so you wouldn't understand.
-
As Killer:
1. Dead Hard
2. Unbreakable
3. Every Boon that I have to snuff instead of destroy....
As Survivor:
It is pretty hard to say as playing Survivor is usually a breeze aside from certain Solo games.
-
1 thing. Map design. Done.
-
Bump.
-
Bump.
-
No. No they shouldn't. If you want to pick the map, play a Custom Match.
-
Monstrous Shrine: If you hook Survivors in the basement they basically die twice as fast.
Gearhead: You get a notification for EVERY SINGLE "Great Skill Check" anywhere on the map.
NOED: Should be base kit to teach people to get off Generators and do the Totems.
Bloodhound: Would work like Warwick in League of Legends. As long as a Survivor is injured. You will see the scent (a red smokey trail) of their blood directly to wherever they are at all times. The trails will be map wide.
Hangman's Trick: Hooks cannot be sabotaged.
-
Bump.
-
The leaves fall off one at a time. Eventually they'll have to kick it into gear and make this game worth the time people invest into it.
-
The game will continue to be boring until "CORE GAMEPLAY" mechanics are changed/adjusted to make it seem more like a more in-depth experience. Until then DBD will be on the decline. Slowly but surely.
-
Anyone who thinks NOED should be nerfed is very uninformed.
-
Game is Survivor sided. Live with it.
-
Is indeed bugged. Have tried many different methods of doing this today... Nothing is working...

I play fine without it, Lithe is better.
Good for you. Most don't.

But DBD is in itself "a bug", so no surprises to be had.

Still bugged....

You just like to debate. No need when I already know the facts. They will be changed and then you won't have crap to say.

If three survivors are going and doing generators, and one is wasting time doing boons, go chase the survivors doing generators.
Boon totems being up is fine until they're actively being used, and that is when you snuff them. Otherwise, you just play the game as normal, and snuff as a downtime action- to make that survivor stay off the generator, because if there weren't boons to be blessed, that survivor would also be on gens.
You are wrong dude. The funny part is you are so willingly oblivious to what you are saying that it hurts.

@Nathan13 said:
Dead hard isn’t going anywhere.
Ya it isn't because if they removed it....they'd also be getting rid of the majority of the Survivor player base that can't play without it.
-
@jesterkind said:
Because the intention is for survivors to waste a lot of time, cumulatively, trying to bless a totem so they can get value, which means they're spending increasingly less time on generators and are sticking in a specific area the killer can take advantage of. That's the theory.
It doesn't always bear out like that in practice, but the problem would be worse if each totem was one-use only, not better. Survivors wouldn't be wasting as much time on blessing since they can only do it a max of five times, and they'd be scurrying off into the dark corners of the map instead of being in one spot.
This never held up. It isn't a waste of time if there are 3 more Survivors doing Generators elsewhere on the map. Once again, your point is moot.

Monstrous Shrine..

Just decrease the time it takes Survivors to bleed out. Takes way too Fkn long atm.

Again, I'm not saying it couldn't work mechanically. I'm saying it wouldn't fit.
Apples and oranges.

It's not pessimism, though. It's just understanding the tone and aesthetic of the game- not everything should be added even if you could make it work mechanically. Even if it could be cool in theory!
Other games in this genre could make this kind of thing work tonally but DBD just isn't the right fit.
Every thread I see you in, you are the biggest "it wouldn't work" person. Sorry but people who think as you do are the reason why certain things can't work in any medium.

The only other killer who even has a firearm at all is Deathslinger, who was specifically given both an old wild west rifle and a speargun instead of something more sophisticated. Rockets, explosions, modern military tech, that's all stuff that wouldn't fit into Dead By Daylight from the Killer's side. Even Leon's Flashbang is pushing it a little.
I don't see how people aren't getting this, if I'm honest. It's so clearly something that wouldn't fit tonally within DBD.
Narrow minded people share your pessimism.
-
He also would not be able to do normal actions while holding the weapons. Open Lockers, break pallets (unless he uses the ammo on them), or pick up Survivors.
-
Give Nemesis a single supply drop containing a weapon toward the end of each match. It will contain a Rocket Launcher or a Gatling gun. He automatically moves slower when holding either and if he starts to use one, he cannot move at all. The Rocket Launcher only has 1 shot and if it hits any Survivor in its AOE they immediately are put into the dying state. The Gatling gun would fire super fast and a few shots from it (assuming the Survivors are running out in the open) would put them into the dying state. This would give Nemesis a single opportunity each match to use this "super special power". He still has to make a smart decision on where to use the weapons IF he even wants to pick them up at all. It would take a certain amount of time to pick them up and put them down. I have faith that they could make it work.
Just make it part of his power. All his power is currently is...useless AI zombies... and a tentacle...whew...
-
I would remove them. He would still be fine. Deathslinger on the other hand..... GEEZUS did they F HIM UP...
-
The problem is they are not worth wasting the time JUST to "temporarily delay" the Boon. Let Killers DESTROY the damn Totems.
