yeah maybe give boons a few tokens, but at the same time COH is the only problem so I don't know if that's the right way to go.
There we go. Some constructive thinking going on up in here!

I'm not sure why you'd conclude it's not worth running? It's still one of the better healing perks, if used properly it'll give you more value than pretty much any other healing perk. Especially with a good medkit.
It not being overwhelmingly overpowered doesn't translate to it being bad, lmao.
Sad thing is it really didn't lose power as the radius and the 5th perk potential for every other Survivor are still huge factors.

@IlliterateGenocide said:
I can't deny that I changed the meta that was there for 4 years. It was truly a breath of fresh air.
Now that it's not worth running anymore I'm going to be kinda sad to see the meta turned back.
Please give us a strong survivor perk(that's not op) that would actually be meta.
It barely got nerfed is the funny thing. xD Buncha Doomsayers...
-
This nerf is just one more tiny step in the wrong direction. The healing SPEED was never the issue.....smh.
-
@Firellius said:
But it's not that it's getting nerfed. It's just the approach taken.
If there's one thing that DBD deserves to be commended for, it's the incredible complexity of its mechanics. DBD is comprised of a vast amount of component mechanics. From the big things like generators, hooks and exit switches to smaller components like survivors' breathing, footsteps and the red stain.
That's also what I want to highlight with CoH. Compared to its cousin perks like Desperate Measures and Botany Knowledge, CoH, as a boon, has way more cogs in its wheelhouse. Which is why it's disappointing to me that CoH is simply getting a heal speed nerf.
Addressing only the heal speed, I feel, is going to make this a herculean task that will probably be abandoned at some point. I suspect that CoH, with only heal speed adjustments, will continue to be either overpowered, or an unappealing pick next to its less complicated counterparts. With the competition it has, it's going to be difficult to find the right spot for it.
What I would suggest instead is looking at all the other cogs at play in CoH as a boon. There's a bless time, there's a radius restriction, there's the ability to replant or relocate it.
ALL of these could stand to be addressed as a means to find CoH its own spot. And not only would this give the developers more space to address CoH and finetune it with less direct competition from other healing perks, but it would also open up design space down the road for other boons.
What if, for example, CoH incurred a 90 second cooldown if it got snuffed? Or what if it reduced boon radius from 24 meters to 18 meters? What if it increased bless time from 14 seconds to 21? What if all of these parameter changes set a precedent for other boons, too? Work out a system where every boon's worst stat is considered when multiple boons are picked, to prevent complicated perk-stacking.
All of this would create space for the devs to come up with new ideas, possibly expanding options for boon effects, too.
Just slapping a -25% on the heal speed is comparatively uninspired and cheap, and doesn't do anything to expand on the possibilities of boons as a design element.
This guy knows whats up. The HEAL SPEED WAS NEVER THE PROBLEM....... The fact that they made a BOON that HEALS is the real issue. Sorry but its just too broken. A 5th perk for every other Survivor that didn't bring it, and gigantic radius, and an infinite amount to place again and again and again and again and again and again. I say 3 strikes and your out. The Killer should Smash the Totem on the 3rd SNUFF!

It's balancing.
Right..... I could balance it the other way. The red stain I can understand, but the directional audio heartbeat seems really silly.

I´ve said it before, and i´ll keep saying it: the issue isn´t the mmr, but the horrible balancing.
Doesn´t matter what survivors you get matched with, when the game is so unbalanced.
Bingo.

Ah, I see.
Well, my point is more that it doesn't really matter whether they consider it a casual game or a competitive game; balance matters for both and the most egregious balance problems in this game would be relevant either way.
I can 100% agree with you on this. :)

Due to popular demand from the killers...
they never listen to survivors.Like y'all keep giving great and good perks to killers then we get "injured survivors can see your aura and you heal 10% faster" Yall needa be 50/50 with your community
What's next,adding a cooldown to boons 🤣
I hope they go with that Boon CD idea. Perfect!

I'd gladly delete NOED to delete DH with it.

Teammates make or break the game experience, which is why playing solo is soo annoying. personally, I don't care for the perk I never used it but instead used the things listed above. but if I bring it or a teammate does and all the rest of the team does is get hit and run to the corner to heal at the speed of self-care then that's not fun to play with
Go on.

this! people, are still going to be caring more about healing than anything but it's just going to be longer, wasting more time. I don't care if the perk is good or not mainly just worried about how people are going to use it after it is nerfed 😬
Please elaborate. :)

BHVR are nerfing perks based on how many people cry about it now? Whatever the rationale behind it, justified or unjustified, framing the announcement like that is just going to encourage more people crying about pretty much everything they deem unfair in the hope that if enough of them voice their opinions it'll change regardless.
If I hate playing against the pig because I think RNG based mechanics are utterly horrible, should I go to the forum and cry about it in order to get her nerfed? Apparently so.
Everybody stand by for an influx of "nerf X" threads from now on, more so than usual.
This is how its always been with any feature in the game. Where have you been?

Ahuh. Tell us more about that.

Um not you acting like your opinion is still the only correct one, Let me guess you hate COH soooo damn much that you complain about it until they nerf it and the meta becomes something else then you whine about that over and over because you are always right
There you go. Let it all out. COPE.

So the dev's say is final and what they say is set in stone but the things you don't like, Funny isn't it?
the Dev's make a ######### ton of mistakes, they are human after all so even what they say has an opinion behind it, so just because they approved the nerf for the PTB doesn't mean anything
Oh it does. COPE more please.

people hate the MMR which the devs liked and defended does that mean MMR is good and everyone that doesn't like it is wrong? 🤷♂️
Nope devs FKD up on that one. MMR horrible. xD They managed to do 1 thing right with CoH though..lol.

NOT you acting like your opinion is a fact ToT
It is fact apparently. The devs agree with that nerf. xD *COPE*

Let's all be honest. The real issue is how powerful Med-Kits are. Just reduce the charges on all of them ALONG with this CoH nerf and we'll be off to the races.

@oh_salutations said:

I never said it wasn't, just that (IMO) this is too strong of a nerf
And as I said. You are DEAD WRONG. Might even be too weak. We will see.
-
@oh_salutations said:
I'm pretty sure that everyone is already talking about this but I just feel that the nerf to 75 to 50 is just too much. if you are injured and want to heal yourself, you first have to set up the boon then heal yourself at the speed of self-care. just to have the killer step on it and you have to spend more time setting it up
sure everyone can use the perk but survivor mains don't like it when their team is just self-caring in the corner of the map for half a minute, and it's just a bigger slap in the face because it would be your perk allowing them to do that and not find a more efficient way of healing
The nerf should be at 50% Lowest then probably like 65% or something for the max their
with the nerf at full effect will make other perks more powerful than the boon
Bring Aftercare to locate survivors to heal you, also has the effect of always knowing where people when in full effect which is great for solo q
Bring Pharmacy + Build to last for 2+ Guaranteed fast heals
Bring Inner Healing for Up to 5 fast heals, and a reason to destroy dull totems other than the chance of Hex plaything or noed (Also Great Synergy with other perks)
or even bring self-care because at least you can do that wherever you want without having to set it up
or even just bring a medkit if you care about healing like that ToT
You are dead wrong... CoH has been broken beyond belief..
-
ALL KILL themed. Please and thank you!

At the bare minimum the basement hooks should be scourge hooks as well.
I agree. Or buff "Monstrous Shrine" to - Also turns all the basement hooks into Scourge Hooks to get more use out of that TERRIBLE perk.

I'm assuming they have eyes on him while updating Haddonfield. He will get some updates. I guarantee it. As for WHEN this will happen.... That is the question.
-
All they had to do with RPD was split it into 2 maps. The actual building with a smaller upper floor. No library BS, and the other being the city streets with maybe an open alley or 2 where you can even see the front or back of the RPD building.

I'm a solo survivor. You kinda can tell or expect a NOED depending on how the killer plays, it shouldn't be a surprise that a basement insidious bubba most likely have NOED, I do try to go for the unhook only if the killer is kinda moving around a bit not standing still, unless it's a bubba, I do gens and leave, easy escape.
I agree it shouldn't be surprising at all. However, as many console Survivors that I face when doing it, makes the dream a reality. xD

Rather than writing a thesis and needing to report outside of the game client, why can’t we have an in-game feature to prevent this from taking place to begin with? Such as idle crows swarming survivors who don’t touch a generator for 20+ consecutive seconds after three minutes have passed.
This sounds a lot smarter than the official response.
-
Could make this happen in a week....assuming the BHVR team let me be the idealist behind the coding/statistic changes. I'd even weaken Nurse slightly to bridge the gap.

Isnt it boring tho? you literally join a game to find someone and stand still in front of them and hopefully get a second one after the rest of the players literally gen rushed you. From what I've experienced, face campers like that rarely get a 4k and its boring for both parties, unless you tell me that standing still is fun i guess you do you
You'd be surprised! What some people find boring is the moment of opportunity for many other people. Even in terms of game tactics and strategies, one mans trash is another mans treasure. The real kicker is actually HOPING the team you are going against is a SWF and come for that 1 person basement rescue after they do all the Generators only to surprise them with NOED when they come for the save. No joke, gets them every time...lmao.

TRUE!!! Barney would scare the poo out of me.... Thanos would look really silly though. xD

I play Survivor a bit less than Killer, but playing Survivor is just so much easier. I can clearly see why camping and tunneling are the usual patterns. When you play Killer you want as easy a time as possible getting even just 1 person. Camping and tunneling especially as someone like Bubba = less stress and less mental thought put into what should seemingly be a simple task. This is why people do it. Its fun to just get one person on a hook and be happy about it. The people that camp and tunnel don't care if its a bad tactic or gets them less points. They just want a kill in the video game and you know what. I get it too. Go for it! I'll never be mad about it. Its a video game after all.

Are you comparing Stranger things to scooby doo? Scooby doo is literally for kids and is a cartoon. It will turn dbd into a joke but sure I guess
I have to admit. Seeing some Scooby Doo Villains would be awesome though!
-
Make SWF use Custom Game in 4mans.... Easy solution to giving Killers a lot more power. I highly doubt ANYONE BUT SWF would object to that...
-
FNAF is an eventuality. The only controversy that will keep a character out of the game is the Jeepers Creepers situation. FNAF is nothing compared to that especially when most people that mention the FNAF thing don't know the whole story anyway..just the negatives they want to focus on. If FNAF will make BHVR money, they'll add it. Period.
-
@Erd69 said:
At the beginning they're talking about pizza and in dbd they're talking about feeding maurice.
The second one they're talking about a place both dbd and fnaf
The third one shows a lit totem and in fnaf it shows a lit pizarea
What about the 4th one?
-
No new map. Chapters with new maps will always be better overall. Well if they had decent map/loop designers to begin with...
-
This is not surprising in the least. Only a matter of time. WHEN (not IF) 99% of the Killer players leave I really want to see these developers change something meaningful on the Killer side. Something big. Something that will make everyone try Killer. What that is...I expect them to figure out.
-
Whatever works. I'll use NOED until Dead Hard is reworked.

So just last night, my wireless mouse's battery was running low so I was like "######### it, I'll get the controller out." I played a few killer games with it and was crying on the inside. Console players, you guys all have my massive respect. How do you all deal with this pain on a regular basis?
Seeing my friend play the game on Nintendo Switch makes me want to disembowel myself with a rusty sharp spoon. It looks like a horrendous experience. I feel extremely sorry for anyone that has no choice but to play this game on the Switch....
-
Seeing them add a Killer like The Trickster should honestly get everyone ready for FNAF making its way in WHEN it does (not if). FNAF will be in the game someday. It makes too much sense business wise and BHVR is just that...a business. Trickster was not scary or thematically fitting to someone like me and to many people Springtrap won't be either, but I guarantee you the devs don't GAF what people like me think about Trickster or what people like "FNAF haters" think about FNAF. If it will make them money, they're going to do it.

I do think he needs some kind of buff but his aiming should not be touched. Zoning players by just pulling up his gun was a very cheap tactic. You would lose distance trying to dodge it giving him a easy hit.
His terror radius should also not be changed back because when it was paired with M&A, it was very easy to run into him. They had the option to either nerf M&A screwing alot of other killers or increase his terror radius. They chose the best option imo
Keep the terror radius the same and give us back the old aim. Imagine him and Nurse were the only 2 Killers in the game. There is no comparison. The old quick aim STILL would give him nothing on Nurse... You are not entitled to distance...in a chase btw. The fact that most Survivors "claimed" to have trouble with that could've been a unique specialty to that Killer only, but no the complainers always get what they want. The terror radius was the big problem. The fact that they touched the aim just shows me how easily the devs will bend to the whining regardless. xD

So you say, however i just don't believe it's possible to make powers that attack directly feel 100% fluid by making it ready instantly because the side effect of it would be that it would become too oppressive, there has to be a compromise in some way to keep it in check.
I agree with you on that. I want the devs to TRY HARDER to find that compromise. They are not trying hard enough for that FLUIDITY across the board anyway.
