Dumb. The DC penalty’s inability to determine whether or not it was on purpose makes it stupid to have in the first place. You ought to be able to have a chance to rejoin until the match is over to avoid it or take a lesser penalty. In a game filled with bugs and risk of internet issues or other frustrations setting in there needs to be more leniency.
Lol. So whenever you get in a chase, just restart your router and rejoin the game and carry on unharmed.
Invincibility on demand.

I need help getting this removed. I was playing survivor repairing the last gen with another survivor and then my game just froze and I had to reset my router. I come back online and it’s 48 hours? 😓 screw this man. The game should be able to tell if you disconnected on purpose or not.
You have admitted to purposefully disconnecting. You know there is a penalty, so stop disconnecting on purpose. No matter what the reason.
And how do you expect the game to know the difference between disconnecting on purpose, and internet issues? How is it supposed to know you don't purposefully reset your router?
-
Anything other than the options you listed.
-
As much as I dislike getting hooked down there, I like the concept of it and wouldn't want it removed.
In fact, I hope they do some graphics updates for them. Make them more disturbing.
It would be amazing if they personalised the basement for each killer!
-
You joke now. But the nerf will come.
Got to sell new OP killer for the next chapter.
-
If you are just going to DC when you have a bad game, then I would suggest you don't bother trying to get a better rank.
Perhaps purposefully de-pipping so you get easier games would suit you better.

Lol the game will die after 3 months. Watch what happens with Phasmophobia.
Sounds good to me.
I am fully on the "######### the greedy devs, I hope the game crashes and burns" bandwagon anyway.
I mean, we already got the crashing part down... 😂
-
Risky 😂
But maybe that is what DbD needs... make killer AI and finally we will have no more toxic behaviour between sides.
-
Maintenence efforts.
-
Because all their ideas are about how to get more money, and they know the community won't respond well to hearing that.

no, it does not belong to the theme of DbD at all. but we got a Japanese realm and a far west realm, so anything can happen atp.
Well, we got Stranger Things...

Pretty sure that is from Event Horizon (film).
-
I don't agree with the playstyle in the slightest.
But in all honesty, who ever said you need to care about any of the other survivors?
-
Dont worry, I am sure you will be able to buy them all in 6 months time.

I agree with you on a lot of this but unfortunately this is modern day gaming, and even worst there's a lot of people that won't stay on track because one of the favourite characters got a half decent skin. The only issue I really have with what you said is this: "The developers need money for this game to stay afloat. They're a small indie company", while I do agree that they make a lot of money (from what I can see around 109m per year) we don't know if they use that just to flood money into the higher ups accounts or if they are actually trying to use that for growth and make the game better overall especially considering that this is their biggest venture and revenue stream.
But it's not modern day gaming though. Its pay for the game plus dlcs AND free to play mechanics.
Modern day games are one or the other, not both. Well, except when EA tried it will Battlefront but that didn't go so well.
At this point, if they want battlepass mechanics, then we should be getting free chapters.
And regarding profits, it clearly isn't getting much of it invested back in to the game.

iirc microsoft, sony etc aren't that keen on 'homebrew' stuff. it would need an emulator to test, which would not be the same. I need to check back with a friend who's working in the field, but iirc it's not as easy 'just fire up your console'
😂
Of course devs can test their games on the consoles.
Can you imagine the crap state every single console game would be in if they couldn't test games before they released them?

I think they're fine with the way they create the cosmetics.
They don't put many out in-between big patches.
The thing with skins and the rift is, it didn't hinder them last year to give out 2 Event Skins plus all the stuff from the rift.
Also it's not quite the same, for example in my opinion I'd like the Feng and Felix Blight skins so much and I'd rather have one of them in the rift instead of David. Without the rift, we'd be able to earn 1 or 2 of the cosmetics we'd atleast want and it has nothing to do with having to pay for the rift or not.
So why would it be such a big thing to repeat this year?
BUT to end the discussion, let's wait till the event starts and we'll see if we can earn atleast one skin with any kind of event currency
Last year was a crossover period. They probably already had the event planned long before the first rift was released. It would probably have been more effort NOT to have done the event last year.

Event Specific Cosmetics are in this case better, because they were created for an actual EVENT.
So having them hide behind a paywall without having the chance to atleast get one skins is kind of dumb.
Also if the designers are CLEARLY (tell me where you've seen this and how are they struggling) struggling to keep up with.
How about to let community influence on ideas or working on already existing themes.
Off the Top of my head, they could create more of the Circus based Outfits for the other characters, more 80's inspired skins and so on, I could give you a whole list of cosmetic ideas.
If they dropped the rift, and just did 2 free event cosmetics you can be sure they would be the same cosmetics that they plan on using in the new rift.
They obviously design a certain number of cosmetics with the intention they can be earned without paying. The method they allow you to earn them is irrelevant. Rift or event, its all the same. Do something = get free cosmetic.
With regards to designers struggling, you have already answered it yourself. It's easy to come up with loads of great ideas, and they do have plenty of great cosmetics. But they also have plenty of obviously rehashed designs that they need to get done quickly to fill the quota.
Dbd isn't a game well suited to this business model of cosmetics. Skins are really all they have. Look at the keyrings for example, they are useless as nobody sees them anyway - not survivors ones at least. But the are desperate to have something to put in those rifts in order to sell the pass.

Theyre usually reskins of preexisting cosmetics, community created cosmetics or preexisting reskins of preexisting cosmetics from the mobile version
Maybe. But that's not relevant to the point of them being free.
And who is to say event specific cosmetics would be any better anyway.
The designers are clearly struggling to keep up with the business model.

Rift costs money
Not all of it. There are plenty of free rewards in the rift.
-
Because the Rift is there for you to earn your free cosmetics instead.
-
If they were as boring as some people claimed the game would have died long ago.
There is more to fixing a gen than just watching a progress bar. You pay attention to what is happening around you. Learn how good your team mates are in chases, try to work out the killers perks, etc.
Honestly, if they made fixing gens more complicated then that is when it would start to get boring.

I'm pretty sure you can just buy yourself up to level 70 anyway without even playing.
True. Although expensive.
But even then, you still have to have been playing the game during the rift.
-
I agree. They should be exclusive otherwise it just devalues the rift.
What is the point in putting in all those hours to get Tier 70 if you can just buy the rewards later on anyway.
It removes the actual reward of being able to say "look, I completed rift X".
I mean look at the devs reasoning for not restoring legacy skins to people who lost them... why is that same reasoning not applicable to the rifts?
-
I play red rank solo just fine.
Rarely get any toxic killers. Sure it happens from time to time but not often enough to complain about.
Besides killers can play however they choose to, just like survivors do. It's part of the game and when it happens you just got to accept it.
-
Both.
It's a buff to No Mither, and a nurf to Dead Hard.

Your only thinking of endgame. Think more about about mid game. If your aura is shown the Killer becomes aura of which Key is in play and can act accordingly.
If the Killer can see your aura during chase it benefits the Killer so that Key will become a detriment to staying alive. And after that if you collect the key from a body you still have to maintain a certain distance from the Killer without him seeing your aura.
Now I'm not saying your point has no merit sure if the Survivor knows where the hatch is and collects the key sure they could bring you to it and teabag but no solution is going to be perfect.
But throw Franklin's demise into the Mix and someone will have to collect that Key or its gone.
If its a Purple Key you can at least add the Hatch into the patrol of the doors. Increase the Hatch opening time to 10 seconds and there you have some counterplay.
Wait... are you saying the aura is revealed when you are within 6m of the killer??
I thought you meant within 6m of hatch.

But if the hatch has spawned, the it's not mid-game anymore. Its end game, at least for the person with the key anyway.
They aren't going to keep doing gens at that point. It's straight down the hatch they go.
-
I say well done to you.
It's not about being offended, it's about actions having consequences. Act like a child, get treated like a child. Simple.
Most people are toxic because there are no consequences to it. So fair play for you showing them there is.
Personally I don't do anything like this myself. Its not that I don't think it's justified, it's just I can't be bothered to change the way I play. Maybe I need to start...

I feel like you didn't understand the Skeleton Key change would reveal the One with the Key's aura when in a certain radius not the Hatch.
And Mori's I find difficult to change because I never really minded them to begin with.
What's the difference?
It still shows that a person with a key is standing by the hatch.
Doesn't matter which aura you show, it's still the same thing.
-
It should be "20th".
Not a dig, just a learning opportunity.

What bug that was exploited and got people banned has lasted 2 years in this game?
It's called over-exaggerating.
The point being that bugs in DbD usually take a long time to get fixed.
-
What would be the point in moris if you had to do all that? Just stick them on the nearest hook at that point.
And aura reveals for hatch is actually a buff. Most survivors WANT the killer to come watch them escape.

The first one that comes to mind is fortnite, usually if there's something a bug giving players an unfair advantage they will disable whatever feature is causing it, if they can't they will ban the players exploiting it.
The difference with Fortnite is that Epic will most likely have fixed the bug before most people even realise it exists.
With DbD players get a 2 year window to find and abuse it.
-
Repeatedly abusing design flaws to gain an advantage is cheating.
Cheating should get you banned.
Simple as that.
-
Would be nice if they had a feature where you could choose a pre-defined list though.
Obvious candidates would be a Killer list and a Survivor list. And allow those to exceed the 10 option limit.
-
Testing for the Chucky chapter...
-
Not enough people vote on polls anyway.
Sure they are fun, but they don't hold enough weight to be meaningful.
-
If survivor was as easy as you want it to be, then you wouldn't be enjoying playing killer.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying that. I don't remember the numbers getting tweaked.
Regardless, your point is still correct. It is an efficiency indicator, not a speed indicator.
-
Firstly... how many people want to miss the whole point of this discussion? Seriously, create your own thread if you want to discus HOW to close the gap.
I think the killers mostly suffer from finding survivors and getting in chases quick enough. So I think some mechanic that allows killers to find survivors easier, without being unfair to the survivors. Perhaps even just a way to know where survivors are roughly.
When you see a gen with progress the killer needs to know if survivors are still near by, and if its worth checking the area or moving to another gen.
Perhaps the longer a killer stays near a hiding survivor, the more clues they get to location. Stay long enough and it basically shows you the survivors aura.
Basically I am thinking of ways to save the killer's precious time, as they won't have much of it to spare.

That's completely true, for newer players the grindr is way worse than for the players that played the game since launch. Like grinding 44 characters vs grinding 7 is a huuuuge difference.
Including 1 million BP with each DLC purchase would go a long way to reducing that problem I think.
-
I would play the game a lot less if I didn't have something to constantly work towards.
Sure there are times I play because I want to play, but sometimes I can't decide which game I want to play and I end up think "I'll just level up some DbD characters for a couple hours".

Yeah I'm with you here. Flashlight saves are haphazard at best, apparently they are even worse to aim recently, though that's merely opinion gathered from other posts so don't quote me on that. I honestly don't think most would be remotely concerned, and the few that did would be unlikely to gain much support.
I think they changed the target area for blinding not so long ago, or at least the camera angle... so I think some people just haven't got used to the new method.
Also did they speed up killer pickup animation giving you less time to save? Can't remember for sure.
I can't imaging many killer use Lightborn, even if they do see a flashlight squad. Its a waste of a perk, especially when you can just face a wall a lot of the time anyway.
-
Inner Strength, Iron Will, Borrowed Time, +1 other.
Inner Strength because having to do totems makes the game a bit more varied.
Iron Will is just super useful to stay alive.
BT is just to help out my random teammates end game or when they are being camped.
The 4th slot I rotate depending on the playstyle im in the mood for. Or if challenges dictate it. Right now its just WGLF for the BP grind.
-
Nah.
Nobody cares about Lightborn.
