RE:Resistance isnβt a competitor anymore, recently they released the final planned update
In that case they will probably be too salty to make a deal with DbD π
-
Play some games with her and let her decide on her own.
Just try to play down the importance of surviving. Its important to know that dying is a big part of the game, and isn't always a loss if you can help your team mates escape.
-
Dont worry, they will have offerings for door spawns soon enough, no doubt.

IT CANT BE EXPLOITED! If you a survivor is realy that stupid to "save" his ds for the end then it would be he has done NOTHING the whole game which is as helpful as being a dead survivor. It cant be used to save anyone in the instance you press M1 to unhook or even fake the unhook you lose it.
Are you always this angry when you speak to people? I guess that explains the Oni avatar.
There are plenty of things a survivor can do before their first or second hook.
Fair point on the unhook causing it to deactivate, but you could still act as the body blocker while somebody else does the unhook. Make sure the rest get to the exit games while you crawl out completely invincible.
I think you underestimate how sweaty some SWF teams can be, and the lengths they will go to in order to "win".
-
Dont forget, with the increase of Inner Strength users, there aren't always many dull totems to transfer ruin to anyway.
I think Undying is fine for the most part.
I am 50/50 on its aura reading capabilities though...
-
It needs some sort of time limit. Otherwise it can be exploited by people on deathhook that just sit and watch the rest of the game.
A decent SWF will be able to purposefully save it and use it to rescue teammates during endgame (paired up with BT).
Removing the time limit would end up making it even more painful for killers.
Having it end when interacting with an objective though would be very sensible. If you feel safe enough to do that then its fair to assume you are not being tunnelled.
-
I have been playing for over 2 years and I dont enjoy being tunnelled.
My opinion is relevant because I am a player. It isnt just the opinions of people that want a change that are valid. People who like things as they are also have valid opinions. The people that use moris clearly enjoy them, and they have just as much of a right to an opinion as you do.
This is the whole point in sending out a survey - so the devs dont make a mistake of only listening to people who rage after a bad game or two.
I am not saying leave because you dont like moris, I am saying leave because you dont like how the devs prioritise their games and handle your complaints. They didnt create the game just to please you. No game is perfect, and even if they made it perfect for you, its wouldnt be perfect for everyone.
No you cant fix the toxic people, but you need to learn to accept they will always exist. Take moris out, they will just find another way to ruin your day instead.
And moris existing for 4 years doesnt mean they have required changing for 4 years.

"If you don't like it, stop playing the game."
This, right here, is NOT the answer to every problem. If there is a game we love and we want fixed, our complaints shouldn't be answered with "Just go play something else." It's unjust. This is a game we love to hate, hate to love, or have a hate-love relationship with. But that doesn't mean we should go play something else if we have our fair share of problems. Instead, the developers should acknowledge this and get to fixing.
Yes. But they do. A survey about moris and keys went out not so long ago. We dont know the resilts
The problem is that people have no patience and expect everything to be done the second they rage about it.
And before anybody says it... moris may have been around for 4+ years, but that doesn't mean there has been reasonable justification to change them for 4 years. So it isn't a case of "its taken 4 years to fix".

Thanks for this constructive argument musefan. What makes you think moris are fine?
I am not saying I like them, I just don't care that they exist.
In the end, unless somebody has a trophy or challenge to get, moris are used by toxic players who want to annoy others (and it obviously works).
However, take moris away and you will still have those same toxic players. They will still tunnel/camp you because they have no interest in a fair game. So you will still be on the forums complaining about those toxic people. It will just be a different thing you complain about.
And lets be honest, survivors have plenty of equivalent options to end games fast at the expense of the killers fun. They are just as toxic too.
The problem isn't moris, the problem is with getting matched up with ######### toxic players that just want to take their "bad mood" out on someone to help them feel better.
That's just one of the downsides of online gaming unfortunately.
-
If you dont like it stop playing the game, and the same to everyone else.
If the problem is a big as you claim, then the player base will drop quickly and they will fix it straight away.
They are hardly going to listen to people on the forums who are clearly just venting after having a bad game.
They put they survey out. If moris are as hated as you claim then they will get changed in due time.
-
I agree the progress seems super slow.
I am currently tier 66 and I have completed every challenge.
Which means I need to play about 40 games over this weekend if I want to get to 70 before it closes.
However, I dont expect all rewards to be great. It must be hard designing so many cosmetics all the time.

Only 50 at a time. any tiers you don't unlock are permanently lost.
Yeah thats what I mean.
The OP sounds like they are expecting a big payoff once the rift closes... maybe I am reading it wrong.
-
Aren't the auric cells awarded immediately as soon as you unlock them?
-
I am with you on this one, Oni.
I guess it mainly because I don't know how to handle him as I dont play against him very often.
That's the issue with so many killers to choose from, some of them are hardly used (in my experience at least)

One person who can ruin your entire match, and if it was hit validation I doubt he could hit anyone else either but op hasn't said anything about anyone else. "They should probably get used to it or stop playing the game" So punish themselves for the bad servers? Mkay I don't throw around the word entitled. Expecting someone to endure lag or hacks for your entertainment is entitlement that last paragraph or 2 tell me you want to put people to your standards, which I'm sorry not everyone has the patience like you do. If the game isn't allowing them to play I don't think that's bad of them to dc in this situation.
It's a multiplayer game with 4 other people.
So yes, I do think people should show a bit more sportsmanship and consideration to other players.

first of all, if it were hit detection problems, she would not scream after getting hit. second, hit validation is to punish a bad ping player, not to benefit him.
Well, in theory.
I don't think we should be assuming the devs have implemented it perfectly π

Please see what I'm trying to say here. It's not about me quitting, but either an issue with hit validation or hacking. I was so confused as to what was happening in the game. I hit her twice but both times she got speed boost instead of getting downed. If you watch the video again, I was very hesitant to quit, you can see. But I wanted to see if somehow a pc player managed to enter via hack even though I had turned off crossplay. You can even see that I clicked on check profile. I'm sorry that I quit and ruin everyone's experience. But kindly highlight the issue I faced.
I am glad to hear you don't take d/c lightly.
But even if the Kate was hacking, dont worry about it. Play on and see if you can hit other survivors. For all you know it could have ended up being a really good game, and maybe that Kate would have been useless and not done anything anyway. You won't know if you don't try.

So you think the killer should endure hacks or bad hit validation for your fun? Sounds pretty entitled
It's just one person with lag. And it looks like the killers connection is no better either so they should probably get used to this happening or stop playing the game.
And you seem to be another one to throw "entitled" around because "its the thing to say".
Couple days ago I played against a killer with the worst lag I have ever seen. I got pulled of a gen without even hearing a heartbeat it was that bad.
The game ended with a 4K and 4 gens remaining. But even then all the survivors played on as best they could. I didn't have fun, but I wasn't going to quit and ruin it for the other players.
It's literally the complete opposite of entitled.

Bruh #########?
No, the killer literally cannot down someone. That is an excuse to leave 100%. When it gets to that point the other survivors don't matter. The killer can DC in which they can get to the next game which hopefully works. I'm not insta losing a match just to let other survivors "have fun".
Don't blame the killer for DCing, blame the game for encouraging the killer DC due to hit validation being badly made.
You do realise that quiting is an "insta lose" right?
And why would only the other survivors have fun? Why is it so hard for you to also have a fun game in that situation?
That Kate will probably go and heal behind an exit gate anyway, plenty of time to go hook the others.
-
@ToxicMyers said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1655342#Comment_1655342
You do realize if you can't attack someone at all, they can literally do everything by themselves and you can't do anything. I'd rather face 20 op nurses than deal with a survivor I can't kill. And the fact you suggest you could get a 3k with an invincible survivor makes me laugh.
So you get a 2k then... or a 1k... or a 0k, what does it matter. You can still play the game to the end, earn some BP and don't ruin the game for every one else.
Even if this person was cheating (which I doubt) in order to ruin the killers day, the killer is just as bad for purposefully quiting the game and ruining it for others.
In fact, I would say the killer is worse because they made a choice to ruin everyones game. That Kate probably can't help having a bad internet connection.

That is such an unbelievably entitled thing to say, what does this man owe the other players in his match? He owes them nothing, neither his time nor a fun match, absolutely nothing at all. Him leaving that match is what 99% of people would do just like I'm sure YOU have killed yourself on your first hook or d/ced when you find out it's a killer you dislike, or perhaps your teammates aren't as good as you would like, what hypocrite.
First of all, learn what the word "entitled" means.
The killer disconnecting because his fun is all that matters is a good fit for "entitled".
Me saying you should think about other players experience is the complete opposite of entitled.
Secondly, in 3 years of playing Dbd, I have never disconnected from a single game, and I don't kill myself on hook either. I have suffered many face camps, and tunnels, and sweaty teabagging swfs who leave me with 0 kills. Survivors who take that game hostage. Last week, I spent 20 minutes patrolling the last 3 gens while 2 survivors hid. Eventually they gave up and came out of hiding... I always play to the end of the game, no matter what.
So don't throw "hypocrite" around when you don't know the facts. You only make yourself look silly.

They made a prediction, if it wasn't working with her, it probably wouldn't work with anyone else. Plus even if it was only her now she is invincible and can do anything without the killer doing anything about it. That could easily be abused
So what. There are still 3 other survivors trying to enjoy a game too. Don't be selfish and ruin the game for other people.
Killer could still play on and maybe get 3K, who cares if the Kate is invincible and survives.

I can easily see why? The game was broken and wouldn't let them down people. It's like when people dc when they got stuck in the hill except in this case there isn't a chance of escape
How do you know it wasn't just a one-off though?
-
And that made you d/c.... π
-
Interesting idea, would certainly be fun.
Might be a bit OP though.
-
Your rules are too complicated
It's not that I don't understand them, its that complicated rules make games not fun for most people.
-
Pfft... the survivors I play against already have that power. It's called lag. π€£
Joking aside, I think it would cause too many problems.
Like, what happens when you want to heal the survivor immediately after unhook?
-
There are lots of reasons to camp. Ranging from toxic to trolling to legit. People are strange...
But walking away from a hook during end game is just outright stupid.
That's the equivalent of 99% the last gen then saying: "######### it, lets run straight at the killer and get some points for boldness" π
-
@valvarez4 said:
Easy, so many people feel powerless in their lives, and they play killer to compensate it
That works for entitled survivors too.
I had a game last week where the last survivor teabagged the hatch on me.
There was still 3 gens left at this point. You literally did nothing to earn an escape and you are still teabagging?
I honestly felt embarrassed for them as they clearly have limited intelligence if they can't even understand the point of teabagging π€¨
-
I fully agree, and its disgusting to see the cash grab tactics they are copying from other games.
Honestly, it makes me question if I want to continue to support them (I have all dlc at present).
I hate the tactic in all games, it makes the world a worse place. Kids bullying other kids cause "they too poor to have expensive skins". Irresponsible "get rich" mentality that a lot of games companies seem to have. But what ya gonna do eh?
I guess we can at least take a positive that they didn't opt to put them in loot crates...
(extremely sarcastic) yay...
-
If that is how you want it to be, there is nothing to stop you enforcing that upon yourself.
I personally don't think it would be a good thing.
-
@ToxicMyers said:

You do realize it only goes after one person and you can gain distance by holding w because it moves at 50%
Yeah but that means that 1 person can do nothing but run away for the duration of 2 whole gens.
That would be very OP for the killer, who now only need to keep 3 survivors off gens.
It's a cool concept, but not a practical one in the slightest.
Also, we don't need games to be longer. Just balanced better. Long games are bad for matchmaking.
-
I agree to some extent, it can be frustrating when you have a good game and dont pip.
However, we must be careful not to make it too easy otherwise the ranking will become meaningless if everyone ends up red rank.
-
PS4. I dont want to play against PC players who have an unfair advantage (keyboard/mouse, FPS, etc.)

Let me put it to you this way.
Whether the killer slugs or not yes the faster healing is still there however it's pretty pointless.
It's all well and good if you have unbreakable it's completely useless if you don't get slugged.
If you received an additional benefit that was more universal and not restricted to factors as you have no control over then it would be more useful.
If you're going to try to misrepresent my argument could you at least not do it in such a narrow-minded way.
It's not a matter of ignoring the only change it's a matter of whether the change itself is beneficial when The Killers playstyle could pretty much denied from ever seeing used
I can only interpret what you actually say.
If you meant the change was too little to make much difference, then that is what you should have said.
Not my fault you wasn't clear to start with.

1.-the survivors are OP, but instead of fixing that, neobards (the team behind the resistance) prefer to make aesthetic reworkings of some maps.
2.- "Look at that skin for that character, it's incredible! ... open many lootboxes, maybe something similar will come out (you can't buy specific skins)
3.-instead of putting leon and claire in resistance, neobards preferred to make costumes for existing characters of resistance (claire costumes for female characters and leon costumes for male characters) bruh ...
4.-if you look at the community of resistance players on pc, you will see that there is a minimum of 300 players playing right now, resistance is dead on pc.
5.-6 months have passed since new resistance characters came out
Sounds like I haven't missed much then.
-
Is it even broke though?
I am sure it does it's best to match evenly, but in the end it can only match you with people who are actually available at the time.
Would you rather have to wait 10 minutes for 4 people who are the same rank to finish their current games?
Ultimately, it's a trade off between queue times vs balancing ranks. You can't have both (at least not every game anyway)
-
If they add it, I hope they also add an option to prevent getting matched with people using keyboard/mouse.
I don't like playing against people who have an unfair advantage. The main reason why I have cross play disabled.
-
No thanks.
I don't want to play against people who use keyboard mouse. It's an unfair advantage.
If you want to use keyboard and mouse perhaps you should move to PC.
-
You can do something already: get over it and move on with the next game...
The more people complain about it, the more killers will do it because they know it winds people up. Just like pathetic survivors with their teabagging.
Toxic survivors only have themselves to blame for killers acting this way.
-
I think the word you are looking for is "unfair". But then that applies to plenty of survivor playstyles too.
Tunneling is of course a strategy (as you already admitted), and chasing the same survivor takes the same skill as chasing a different survivor. The target doesn't magically change the amount of skill required to down them. So the skill argument is invalid.
Simply put, just stop complaining about what other people choose to do. As a survivor do you purposefully avoid gens and let yourself get downed to make it fair on the killer? No of course you dont, you do everything in your power to win the game. So dont complain if killers do the same.
Also... I main survivor and I don't tunnel/camp as killer either. But that doesn't mean I can't accept other killers methods.

What are you talking about this game is finished since the last update..π€
I haven't played Resistance in quite some time... what did they do to it?
-
Yes... leave the internet and go get some sleep.
They stopped there because they don't need to write anymore.
We won't get an RE chapter as long as Capcom have a competing game in Resistance.
-
If I start with other survivors next to me, I acknowledge them with a single one-second crouch. You know, to wish them luck.
If I start next to a chest, I open that chest. Because fate has brought us together, my good chest friend.
If I start next to a gen and somebody else starts working on it straight away, I will join them. The killer will almost always come to the nearest gen to survivors, so if I start alone, I will move away from the first gen I see - that's just suicide.
Other than that, I usually run Inner Strength, so I will spend some time looking for a totem. Not too long though (30 seconds at the very most), if I can't see one if the obvious spots near me, I will jump on a gen instead.
-
I think finding them is fine, the main issue comes from remembering their names.
A search feature is useless if you can't remember what it is called.
Reminds me of a feature I thought about the other day, think I will create a new post for it.

To be fair, you wont notice if they got exhausted on the ground. I have situations where I chase a Survivor 3 times and the third time he uses DH, which makes it likely that it bugged out the first two times.
Yeah, that could be true for some. However, as killer I often bait a dead hard anyway so it shouldn't bug out if I'm not actually attacking.
There will also be a few survivors who forget they have it. I rarely use DH but when I try it I almost always forget about it because I am not used to having it.
I agree there are issues, but I also think it's not completely broken.
-
I played quite a few games as killer yesterday and the survivors I was facing used dead hard without any issues.
So it's clearly not broken for everyone.
