The BP bonus is pretty weak and wglf is busted so I'm actually getting less points this event as a survivor. Cool.
-
I think map offerings should provide a bp bonus to the other side. If I'm a killer and I have to humor you and play your map, I should get a bp boost. Same if the killer plays a map offering.
Haddonfield and Ormund are too terrible maps if survivors pair up with balanced.

am I the only one not mad or disappointed at this?
I'm just confused. At work right now so I don't have a good visual. Are we still able to buy vials and get bps? Are they extending the event? I wish they would do a better job explaining what this delay actually impacts.
-
Just lol.
-
I see spine chill a ton. Probably a top ten survivor perk. Especially among solo and or stealth players.
-
The bleed out timer is way too long. Just fix that.
-
Make the maps smaller, lessen the amount of pallets. Slow the gens a bit.
Make ivory mori base kit with the restrictions of: all survivord have been hooked at least once and two or less gens left.
Maybe doing all of that might be a bit overkill, but I'd like to see some of those changes implemented.
-
Runs up for borrowed time save. Self cares procs instead of unhook proc. Gets downed.
Welp, not using this perk again.

Quick switch is when they change their item exactly before the 5 seconds timer so that the killer can't change perks or addons?
Correct. It's scummy, plus I had to wait a full minute to ready up for it. I don't dodge all the time, but if I'm not in the mood I will.
-
If someone quick switches and I'm not in the mood for bs, I might dodge.
What's funny is if I see maps, keys, flashlights, on everyone I won't dodge, but if you quick switch, now I think you're kind of scummy and I'm not going to reward that type of behavior.

We have not confirmed the date of the Mid Chapter Patch - the only date we ever gave was for the event. Unless we actually confirm things on this forum or our official Twitter account it's best not to rely on what other people speculate.
You kind of alluded to the fact that they were coming out together though.
"Hallowed blight is coming out with the rift"
"The rift is coming out in the mid chapter update"
"Hallowed blight is coming out on Oct 22"
Why wouldn't we think that the mid chapter patch was going to be om the 22nd? I'm not really all that annoyed at the delay, but obviously you guys need to communicate a whole hell of a lot better if everyone is clearly thinking everything is coming out on the 22nd.
There were plenty of posts stating this that any one of you could have stepped in and corrected.
-
If one person thinks you're an a-hole you may be an a-hole or you may not be.
If many people think you're an a-hole, well you're probably an a-hole.
-
Lol. If you suicide on the hook, you're definitely screwing your team over. How is this even an argument?
I think we've all played a game where some schmuck disconnects or suicides super early and if the game went from winnable to not so much.

Yeah, that's definitely long these days.
Devs stated they want 8 on average, so yeah, more than 3 times what they aim for. 😋
Makes sense. Wait in the lobby for 20 minutes. Play for 8.
-
Lol. Just wake up.
-
I got my first audio ps4 hate message the other day. Cracked me up.
I love the salt messages. I don't even play overly dirty most matches.

I have, and I rather play that than dbd
Lol. Then go play it.
-
Then you haven't played f13 apparently.
-
Give me nurse and spirit all day over Billy. Billy is boring AF to play against.
Sounds like I'm in the minority, but I'll support OP. It's just ping pong from hook to hook. Hit boxes are suspect at best too.
He's definitely not "the most balanced killer". I legit shake my head when I see people post that on here.

Yes, and it's worse for the swf groups also! Solo from either side is quick!
I've had to wait 20 minutes as a solo as well. But yes swf can be crazy long.
-
PS4 player here. Queue times have always been longer as survivor than killer. No matter the time of day, rank, swf, or solo.
-
Agreed. Just shorten the timer.
-
My top 3 on console
Billy (map pressure/instadowns)
Spirit (sorry not buying her as better than Billy)
Freddy
-
Survivors shouldn't be able to pick map offerings.
Just my opinion anyway.
-
Yeah. Definitely should be changed. I had no clue it meant 1-hit downs until about two weeks after I started playing.

What's really stupid about the Plague is the fact that with iron will you can supress groans of pain from a bone-deep flesh wound but not the vomiting sound that can be heard from half a map away...

Okay but your personal issues with him have nothing to do with this thread.
I have no personal issues with the guy. I don't know him. I just think his content is horrible.

I've had this happen before too. Seems like a bug to me.

This implies obviously that you think the game is balanced for killer vs 4 solo survivors. Come on now. Anyone who’s unbiased I think can admit that in today’s game that’s definitely advantage killer. So no way should killer get anything additional for playing 2 SWF, that’s ridiculous. Three is debatable, but I wouldn’t object to a small amount, certainly not 75%. Double BP for 4 man no way, way too high.
Solo survivor should also get the same bonus that killer gets for facing the 3 man SWF.
That's fine. Give solo players bonus points too.
But the reality is you're never going to get rid of swf without killing the game. Killers do deserve some sort of compensation for going against swf as opposed to 4 randos. If you want to say 100% is too high, yeah I guess we could find some compromise.
I play more survivor than killer and I can tell you that even a 2 man swf squad has some advantage over playing as a solo. So if the devs aren't going to give solo players a buff (they have not) and they aren't going to eliminate swf (the obviously should not), then why not at least reward killers for playing against an increased challenge?
Another benefit is with the bonus post game, killers would get a better idea of exactly how many swf teams they're actually coming up against. I personally think killers are over-blowing the situation as if every group of survivors are swf, but also I do scoff a tiny bit at the developer's statistics as well. But with this post game bonus killers could actually get legitimate proof of whether swf groups are dominant or maybe those killers just aren't as good as they think they are.
-
I always hear this "only a few killers are viable" statement. Yet, me a good but not great killer can frequently pip with all killers in red ranks. I think many people don't know what the word viable means.
-
The real solution is this. Leave things as is but give a postgame bloodpoint bonus to killers.
4 man squad - 100% bonus
3 man 1 solo - 75%
2 different 2 man squads - 50%
2 man squad and 2 solos - 25%
There. Problem solved.

You'd have to tier up to get that benefit. Other stealth killers are slower than survivors and/or can't attack while in stealth (except GF), so if you were to make it more consistent he shouldn't be able to attack or catch up to survivors while in tier 1. :)
I disagree. Pig moves slightly slower but can dash attack or just get up from crouch and get easy hits/grabs. Wraith can move faster in stealth. With this change, they absolute should increase Michael's tier 1 speed/lunge or better yet, leave him immune to premonition/spine chill. He was in a fine place as he was.
I mean this as much as a survivor as I do a killer. Jump scares are great. Nice little adrenaline rush when a Michael spooks me.

Not quite a bug. Myers was changed to have Undetectable in EW1 along with several other killers. That means his aura cannot be read, he has no terror radius, and he has no stain. However, that also means that he is not immune to detection perks (aura reading aside).
This is to:
- Make him consistent with other stealth killers.
- Make those perks do what they're intended to do.
Short version, not a bug, just a result of a different change.
So when does his movement speed and lunge in evil 1 increase to stay more consistent with other stealth killers?

He also no longer has a terror radius. Meaning that T1 Myers got even stronger considering that no one uses Spine Chill and Prem.
A lot of people use spine chill. It's not meta, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't one of the top 10-12 most used survivor perks in the game.

Oh so you're going to increase his movement speed and lunge at tier 1 to be more consistent with other killers then. That's great news!

Rework mori idea
No ebony
Ivory is basekit with these requirements
Hooked everyone at least once
2 or less gens remaining.
Games would be drastically better as:
No one gets killed 2 minutes into the game
Killers are rewarded for spreading out punishment to all players
Killers will find themselves in a better situation to avoid a 1 gen 4 survivors left situation that is nearly unwinnable.
-
Console red rank killer. They're all viable. Some killers are obviously a bit better than others but I'm getting 4ks with all of them. Sometimes I do get rekt too. But that has more to do with the survivors I'm going against and the mistakes I'm making than the killer I'm using.
Also, I'm a good killer but nothing special. So if I can 4k with doc, wraith, trapper, plague, etc in red ranks, than so can probably anyone else.
-
Bring me original NoES Freddy stat!
-
Ps4 here. I see a wide variety of killers. I also play a wide variety of killers at rank 1 and though there are some weaker killers, they are all viable at rank 1.
I am probably a good killer, but nothing exceptional.
That said, I do agree that changing the nurse's basekit is a mistake. I'll see how the ptb goes though before I cry on forums.
-
On console here, but rarely see nurses at all and don't see spirit as much as people claim. I see Billy quite a bit. Lately (last 25 games or so) I've seen more Michael and Ghost Face than anyone else.
-
I think DS is bad for the game. I don't use it as a survivor and it's annoying as a killer. Too easy to guarantee an escape at end game.
It is what it is though. I don't expect it to change.
-
Cleanse totems. End game builds are a thing.
-
Just change it to ruthless.
-
People always cry. I had a game as plague running pop and play with your food. Put a guy on the hook and the nearby obsession immediately unhooks. I hit the obsession and gain my pwyf stack and ignore the guy that just got unhooked. Run back to hit the gen that he was originally on. The guy ran straight back with me, but he ran through the school and I went around it. I downed him because he committed to the gen even though it was maybe 50% completed. I popped the gen and then hooked the guy a second time. Post game- "you tunneled". Sure.
Also, as a survivor I run an unhook build (BT/WGLF). I admittedly go for some riskier saves but generally try to take the agro. It amazes me though when people complain about camping/tunneling when people literally unhook in the killers face. If your risky unhook gets someone in trouble that's on you as a survivor. Or of you were the guy that got farmed by your survivor buddy, give them post game hate. Why blame the killer? Sure they can slug or just take it easy, but they don't have to either.
Killers can be turds as well. This isn't a survivor vs killer post. But I think in these cases and with the amount of second chance perks that exist, many survivors feel invincible and when their sub-optimal risky play bites them in the butt, they'd rather cry than look back and admit/correct mistakes.
-
@NinoV1 said:
So not only a 4th chance, but a 5th chance aswell? Yeah nah
Don't forget that instaheel he probably has equipped too
-
Rank 5 guy probably pipped so he was rank 6 at the start. While rank 12 killer probably depipped to 13. Start of the match was likely a 6 difference which makes sense.
-
I have great mori ideas. Too many to get into here right now. There are completely unbalanced as they are now. If they don't want to make major changes, the least that they could do is automatically give survivors a safety pip and/or bloodpoint bonus for tolerating them. Until then, people are going to DC in the loading screen. Again, no different than killers dodging flashlights, medkits, keys, tool boxes, survivors loading in at the same time, cosmetics, etc.
Really the devs need to take a hard look at moris, keys, instaheals, etc. I don't think either side really enjoys playing against those.
-
The grind is still too much. It's better than what it was, but it's still unfriendly to newer players and it hasn't been "cut in half".
A good start would be to fix things so survivors are getting all of their blood points for surviving and wlgf to work consistently.
Fixing bp offerings would be another thing I'd look at. Selling useless items would be another. There are definitely some things they could implement to help things along further in lowering the grind.
