This is possible probably not the strongest thing though

Not aiming for the strongest, just wanna make people rethink their skill in skill checks.

    Unnerving, Oppression, Undying, Lullaby :D

  • Maybe lullaby+undying on Doc?

  • Just change Ruin for Devour Hope and profit on insta downs + the occasional mori. The sense of urgency will drive survivors away from gens.

  • @immortalls96 said:

What you meant to say was this only applies to SURVIVOR perks..cause ds unbreakable which was legit unbalanced due to no real counterplay is once again left alone..but you reduced hex undying down to nothing..can't say you arnt biased when making such biased changes..talk about disappointing

I think you should look at the other side of that statement. BBQ is also used a lot and the perk is good, but not oppressive plus people like extra BP. Should they change BBQ bc of that? It's the most popular killer perk.

Knock Out before the rework worked with killers powers, but even then it was still not used. All it takes is comms to make the perk useless.

So, should killers just punish SQ players even more?

You clearly don't realize this outright kills the perk...

Not really. Just change Ruin for Devour Hope and profit

Nurse is the killer with the strongest slug potential, and she uses Knockout with no problem.

Exactly, I've played matches against competent Knock Out + Infectious Fright Nurses. Spending half of the match on the ground or running around trying to find your dying teammates with no clue as to where they are is not fun. The only thing that keeps them in check is the first part: being competent. Nurses with that expertise are the reason some players advocate for a CD on Infectious Fright, but they are infrequent enough not to constitute a widespread problem.

If killer powers applied Knock Out, then that playstyle would be easier to abuse. Corrupt Purge Plague and Bubba are the ones that come to mind.

  • Have you tried it on Doc? Maybe Furtive Chase + DMS. Maybe Make your Choice or Corrupt Intervention too.

Doc can remove multiple survivors from gens with his static blast and Furtive Chase only reduces Terror Radius during a chase.

  • Some killers have strong slugging potential and slugging is not fun to go against, especially when killers do it at 5 gens. Knock Out has synergistic effects with other perks like Infecticious Fright that turn an unfun tactic into a playstyle. By having those 2 perks alone, you secure information on who's close by and also protect your slugs from being picked. Knock Out on killer powers is tedious to contest and dangerously effective in winning matches without a single hook.

  • A good GF, hag, or trapper.

  • I DON'T WANNA A BIG BUFFED MONSTER SHOOTING ME WITH A ROCKET LAUNCHER!

  • Quentin? Who's that? I heard legends with that name.

Anyway, Even in the forums people use more his perks as avatar than him.

  • Only reason for unhooking someone in front of the killer without DS is if they are gonna transition hook stage and you want to at least give them a chance, but there are lots of clowns hookbombing seconds after the killer hooked.

Also good Survivors will just never heal in your Terror Radius.

Maybe in a small map? Midwich is a square with side 64m and a killer with 32m terror radius (with distressing 40m) could possibly benefit from the perk.

  • Have you ever kicked Victor???????? now imagine that the whole match!

  • Not pay to win I think. The only killers that are locked behind a paywall are the licensed ones and, although nice to play, they do not bring any inherent advantage to other killer. All of the other ones can be purchased with shards.

  • Hexes as their current implementation tend to be either too oppressive or underwhelming. For a hex to be worth a perk slot, it needs to generate a lot constant value while active (Ruin) or an intense sense of urgency (NOED/Devour). All of this while under pressure of being fully cleansed, which can be frustrating for the killer when it happens minutes into the match.

Also, many hexes only bring marginal value to the killer and are not worth the risk (Third Seal/Blood Favour/Lullaby) and could be readdressed. The same could be said of the last category (Retribution/Thrill/Undying/Haunted Grounds to a lesser extent) that are used to protect and support other hexes.

There is so much room for improvement for killers and survivors here. OhTofu raised a suggestion brought by the community to only allow one hex perk in a build and that hex effect would be divided between all totems. For example: Ruin could have each totem powering 40% regression. Cleansing a single totem would reduce the effects of the perk, but not outright remove it, so both killer and survivors have a more streamlined experience. The issue is that not all hex effects can be easily translated into 5 totems and there comes the need for a rework of hexes as a whole.

  • Just rework hexes as a whole already!

  • @Yamaoka said:

Ruin was nerfed/changed/reworked because experienced survivors would hit great skillchecks very frequently nullifying the hex to some degree whereas old Ruin would make matches unplayable for new-ish survivors.

The current version of Ruin has the same effect on new AND experienced survivors as its strength comes down to how frequently the killer manages to interrupt the repairs.

The change was pretty smart in this regard.

    ^^^^^

Old ruin totally smashed new players and did little to none against experienced survivors. It was just overall bad design.

  • I hope he gets some form of map control in a way that didn't impact his chase. Maybe attaching volatile bottles to the ground or objects. Upon interaction or just proximity the could trigger a mind-numbing cloud that blocked heals and repairing actions as well as making survivors close-by scream.

Without a video recording of cheating there's no proof, so without proof there's not much that can be done I'm afraid.

Any other steps that we should do? I found 2 hackers in a match and only one had steam id that was changed little after the match was over. Should we post the video evidence in the forums?

  • Exhaustion addons are quite a good counter for DH, but are killer restricted.

  • The statement is kinda broad. SB and DH are overused, no doubt, but Lithe and BL no so much. I gave up on DH a few weeks ago after having loads of fun while playing Felix (i have no exhaustions on him). Most of my frustrations in matches happened when I found myself exhausted on the floor, so I decided to use BL instead.

I can go quite a number of matches without using it (thx Shelter Woods and other maps with no drops) and I don't use it to extend chases, but to lose the killer with the sound and scratch marks suppressing effect.

  • Deliverance can allow some nice plays even without coordination. It's like DS or UB in a sense that it would not be useful in every match, but in others makes you wonder "man, I wish I had Deliverance now".

  • Pop Goes The Warden

-As soon as the Exit Gate is open, Pop Goes the Warden is activated. Generators you damage now instantly loses 25% of its progress.

  • Also, low rank survivors tend to abuse stealth as it's exceptionally strong against new killers. If the killer don't find someone to disturb, they will come back and camp or tunnel, especially if someone unhooked you and hid instead of taking aggro.

  • Kindred for SQ survivors.

  • We should make themed bingo cards (NOED, Keys, Mori nerf, gen Rush, toxicity, teabags, camping, slugging, etc) and play every day here at the forums. The winner gets to either take a team of survivors on a trip to the basement as Bubba.

    in NOED Comment by lagosta
  • DS isn't a requirement. Bringing obsession perks and addons can give the survivors the benefit of doubt tho. What most sq players fail to understand is that games are much easier if you follow simple premises:

1-Spread out and work on gens.

2-If you're in a chase, drive the killer away from vulnerable team mates (to run towards a hook rescue, someone working a high priority gen, etc)

3-If you're on death hook, let your teammates take the risk. Also, if your team mates are on death hook take risks.

    4-Stop urban evading everywhere.

    5-Learn to play while injured.

  • I see lots of speculation in this thread.

1-Nurse is a demanding killer, it takes lots of hours and dedication being crushed before you can 4k. She has the most peculiar of all killer skillsets and not everyone is willing to put the time required to become master her. Her skill ceiling is up high in the sky and just straight buffing her might result in an oppressive experience to the other side.

So, I want to bring something up.

    Let's see the chart:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VV799GPBPFZF/image.png

So, there is chart where they said Legion is a solid mid-tier. But they also said that Nurse and Blight were misleading due to their required skill, which is totally fine. However, that means that for the sake of this chart, you remove those two Killers. Now, Legion is technically lower on the chart. This idea that he is mid tier is being masked by the fact that they have two killers on that chart that push some of the other low tier Killers up. The same thing could be said about Pyramid Head, as he was still fairly new at the time. My point being, even using their own chart, Legion is NOT the middle of the road Killer they claim if they go by their own sentiments concerning the lowest two and newer Killers.

2- "Now, Legion is technically lower on the chart" Where did you pull that from? Pick rate? No, comfortably sitting aroung the average of 1/21= 4.76 and both Nurse and Blight have above average pick rates. Kill Rate? After the said removal of Blight and Nurse, the average Kill rate between all killers goes to 69.03%, while Legion sits at 67.98%. 1.05% bellow average AFTER the 2 worst were removed!!!!! Even then compare that to Plague 62.55% kill rate and abysmal pick rate. Stop with that nonsense already.

  • Some spirit players use equalizers to isolate steps and grunts of pain from the barrage of sounds that can happen in a chase.

  • Many perks have synergistic effects that are the sole reason of bringing them together. Limiting access to types of perks could also invalidate survivors going for adept. I'd much rather have 2 queues, one for SQ and one for SWF so they can balance them adequately.

I understand where you are coming from but the thing you need to understand is that if there is an early out to a match it will always be abused and it will always effect the remaining players negatively; it would be like removing the d/c penalty because some people's connections d/c them and force a penalty on someone who didn't deserve it. Sure it sucks for that guy but he isn't the norm he is the exception. Sure it sucks to be face camped by an iri head huntress or pinky clown but at the end of the day that isn't the norm, the norm is people just don't wanna vs whatever they are vsing, be it he map, the specific killer or maybe they are just annoyed they were the first one to be chased.

If you aren't prepaired to play out a match vs a stridor spirit who is sweating their balls off then don't que because I very much doubt the other three survivors want to vs the same sweaty spirit down a player because one guy baby rage quit.

I really think that DC penalties should exist as, ultimately, we're playing an online game.

As for the suicide on hook, I am just trying to shed some light into the matter and recommended OP to report whenever that happens. For me, those cases need to be individually analyzed for repeated offenders. If someone is constantly frustrated to the point of suicide on hooks, then they should "play something else.' -Mathieu Cote

Unfortunately, DBD has an exit mechanic that is core to the game and that cannot be changed. And punishments should not be blindly applied due to the risk of catching survivors who were facecamped on the first hook.

  • It's a fault of the emblem system along with the rank system. RN ranks denote time invested, not skill. Any one with a net positive pip to depip ratio will go up in ranks eventually. The solution to that is MMR.

  • You're devoting too much attention to totems. Your objective is to kill survivors, totems are not required for them to escape. By crossing the map to disturb someone cleansing a totem you're not chasing or shooing people off of gens and getting no ruin value.

Ruin+Undying is powerful right now bc they buy too time in matches for killers in average. It's expected that they will be cleansed, you just need to make the most of it or else you'll end up with your hex totems up and the doors open.

  • Somewhere where you feel rewarded while investing your time at. Not such a dreadful learning experience as a nurse, not something shallow like a Wraith.

Doc's power can help tremendously at loops. He doesn't play the same way as standard M1 Killers do.

  • Just make your self a favour and purchase 1k auric cells if you can consistently reach 70. That way you can invest into the rift and get it back for the next after reaching its completed.

  • You think I was born yesterday? P3 Quentins only exist in legends

  • Not really. Legion can at least run fast from one side of the map to the other and has a built-in slow down. Clown is in a worse spot I think.

  • Man's not hot, quick maths:

-chance to escape without perks or offerings and 3 tries = 1- (1-0.04)^3 = 11.5%

-chance to escape with Ivory Chalk Pouch and 3 tries = 1-(1-0.07)^3 = 19.5%

-chance to escape with Up the Ante, 3 tries = 1-(1-0.13)^3 = 34.1%

    -chance to escape with Slippery Meat, 6 tries = 1-(1-0.08)^6 = 39.3%

-with all of the above (best individual setup) = 1-(1-0.2)^6 = 73.7%

-all of the above with 4 team members bringing Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips (dedicated forum offering) = 1-(1-0.29)^6 = 87.2%

    -Activated deliverance = 100%

I have had people disconnect because they don't like their match up, so it can be the same. and same thing applies here, it's a team game, you dont disconnect when we havent even gotten 3 minutes into a macth leaving 3 people with 5 gens, it makes it extremely hard to come from that situation and you sc'rew your team over, if you wanna leave then levae but there hsould at least be a penalty for doing so.

That's why I report them and encourage you to do so.

  • @HollowsGrief said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1850688#Comment_1850688

That point is invalid when the person hits the que, they should be ready to play out the match, it's honestly no different than d/cing when things don't go your way. You cuck the killer, and all three teammates over, not to mention every one of them would of rather you never qued in the first place so they could get someone who actually stuck around. Sorry, but once you load into the game you absolutely should be punished if you leave early. Don't que if you don't want to play out the match.

I agree with you that when one hits the queue, one should be ready to play whatever match comes and I often report who does so. But you need to factor in that some aspects of the game are rather frustrating. Not everyone queues thinking "what an amazing time to face a camping Bubba, or an Iri Huntress, or a Coxcombed Wraith, or a Pinky Clown, or even better to see my teammates auras while they urban evade through the map/self care in a corner/hook bomb without BT". Most people just wanna have an average game.

  • @Ink_Eyes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1850688#Comment_1850688

I would agree if matches were actually long like a dota match were you are expected to play 40 - 50 minute matches, some people here K.ill themselves on first hook not even 3 minutes into the game. If you don't feel like playing don't start a match...

I never played Dota, but played LoL. The matches are expected to last 20-30 minutes average, but guess what? no team member is removed from the match bc the other side is playing well, or using scummy tactics, or brought iridescent addons. The games are different.

There is always the potential for a good teamfight to turn the tides in LoL, in contrast DbD is snowbally by nature. Killers often eat one stage hook by proxy camping, teammates sandbag, etc. Playing DbD is like racing against each the other side, Survivors are strongest in the beginning and need to make use of the resources that they have before the Killer can build enough pressure that basically drives sruvivors away from the main objectives.

I don't approve giving up 3 minutes into the game, but sometimes one just don't wanna play against a Iri head Huntress or a sweat squad.

  • As much as I hate it, you shouldn't punish people for no longer wanting to play a match.

  • I think it's fake. DS change does not give values for tier 1 and 2 and WoO countering fake pallets? that's a tad too much

  • The time I went into a match with a Myers that accidentally got the Clown's power and could not recharge or stalk.

Also the insidious Billy that in the beginning of the match dashed through the map only to find a blendette hiding and proceeded to AFK while body blocking her. I managed to record that.
