  • I like her stripy tights.

I mean I already do that for a while, no need to sweat if MMR is a worthless invisible number anyway.

All I care about is BP so 4 BBQ stacks and some good chases are my win conditions.

    Exactly this ^

Oh boy, enjoy that suffering for more BP :D

    is it worth it tho?

I don't think it worth. I will probably wait for buff.

  • It's very sad that devs nerfed him to the ground without any compensation in power. I have 100+ anniversary cakes on Deathslinger so I was planning to main him eventually.

I think boons are excellent perks. Killers think it's not a worth the time to deal with a boon. They they get juked 10 times over and over and survivors heal up after a hit, and all four survivors escape.

I've had very successful matches using boons.

I didn't say I ignore boons. I snuff it out every time I go nearby (unless it's unsnuffable). Survivors in that case drop all their business to find and bless another totem which is good for killer. Every team with boon totems I played yesterday died before they did all gens.

If boon totem helps you to win as survivor, good for you. As killer I also find it helpful same as selfcare. I agree that boons are exellent perks. You pay your time you get your reward. I take your time as my reward. Everyone made a profit.

  • How is MMR forcing killers to win? There is absolutely no benefit of being high MMR killer. You don't get any reward for being sweaty champion. You can't even tell what is you MMR to make yourself proud of it.

You only get BP reward for playing game and that's it.

The point of SBMM is get equal opponents to have comfortable games. If you lose you get weaker opponents next time. If you win you get stronger opponents. Nothing but stronger opponents is reward for being high MMR killer. It's a very debatable reward to target.

  • Fun part is you can see it with Windows of Opportunity.

  • I don't see much complains about boons from killers.

  • Models are fine. I think they ######### up the lighting. Classic renders have counter light from behind. New portraits looks like they lighted only at front so it looks out of place. I also don't like the shine on Kate's hair. But her new face looks prettier. Previous Kate's face was little bit uglier.

Overall new models remind me faces from Japanese 3d games like Dead or Alive. Probably because of very clean face textures.

I don't get the hate. It takes a good chunk of time to bless a totem and you have to run back to the boon in order to heal. It wastes a lot of time. More time healing and blessing totems = less time on gens. Isn't this what killers want? Lol

    Absolutely.

  • I think it's good idea. It's only in 24 meters from totem so I don't think it's that abuseable.

  • You could have fail skillcheck. When you fail skillcheck it revert small amount of progress.

  • I think boons are same trap perks as selfcare. Survivors think it's worth a time to bless a totem and run to this corner everytime they need to heal. I got very successfull matches against boon users.

Maybe survivors will find the way how to use boons properly someday. But for now I don't mind boons in my matches.

Left Behind lets you see the hatch within 32 meters if you're the last survivor up. Clairvoyance let's you see it for 10 seconds within a 64 meter range as longs as you've cleansed the totem. Read the perk.

Alright but it's still situational as #########.

You need 14 seconds to cleanse totem. You need to find totem first. All this time killer is already looking for hatch.

Even if you know the timing of teammate die. You find totem and start cleanse 10 seconds before his death and find the aura of hatch, it still can be beyond 64 meters and killer can be already checking this area.

it's still highly luck dependent. Best time for such trolling was before this update.

Clairvoyance, Mikaela's new perk. It has twice the range of Bill's perk.

First I'm not sure Clairvoyance help you find the hatch.

Second there is no point to troll like this because hatch won't spawn untill you left alone. It means after you get your teammates dead you still need to race the killer in hatch searching.

Whole hatch system is recently nerfed so it's much harder to be selfish at this point.

  • @SackoXA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2574399#Comment_2574399

There are now two perks that let you find the hatch instead of just one. This is a moot point.

I know Bill's perk but what the second one?

  • You don't know where hatch will spawn anymore. Unless you bring an offering.

So without offering if you wait your teammates die you risk to not find the hatch. Before change survivors could find hatch and hide nearby waiting you die.

  • I feel little burnout. Not because of NFT scandal. It's more like seasonal burnout.

  • If NFT is that bad why it's not prohibited by law yet?

  • Randomly placed Hag traps. Also Trapper's beartraps can jumpscare.

    Colossal Titan to DBD plz.

I would look at colossal titan stunned by tiny pallet.

  • You suggest to buff killers or change promo videos?

  • You can't stuck in high mmr. If you can't win you will get to opponents of your level eventualy.

  • I was about to play him a lot eventually because I have a ton of anniversary cakes on him. His buff is just a very nice bonus.

  • @R2k said:

To fix MMR they need to take LoL experience and adjust it to Dbd.

Create babies league for new players so every single new player is placed against another noob. And make a wall so not a single experienced player could derank into babies league. While babies by constantly winning can get out of babies league and when babies lose a game they don't lose their MMR to prevent abusing.

In league, system tracks your results starting from your 1st game so if u are good player, even if u never played ranked game u won't find wood/bronze players no matter how hard u try. It will prevent players from stomping noobs. So every noob player should start with 100 mmr and babies league should be capped around 400-500 while all experienced players should be placed in mmr accordingly to 10 games promo results.

Change survivor goals from single to teamwork so their win condition is based on their overall performance rather than simple escape. It's rly stupid when survivor lost a game because he died to give time to another guy. So if 3 survivors escape it's win for one side and defeat for another. Same goes for kills.

And 2/2 should be tie for both sides.

I like this idea. MMR gate and result of the first game are very smart way to improve SBMM.

But survivor goals is more complicated topic. "Play as you want" is kind of selling point of dbd. Play in team or be selfish is a choice you make in game. During the game is better to help your teammates when they are about to die. But in endgame chosing way is very frequent situation.

You at the gates and your teammate is on hook. Your common goal forces you to risk an try to save your teammate even if you about to escape. When it's last guy on hook you just risk to save him for tie or lose. When 3 guys at the gates they most likely escape because there is no point to risk and hooked guy will also get his victory points.

This idea seems legit and it probably should be tested. But for example how would you count result for survivor that got killed first? He is forced to stay in spectaton and wait their teammates win or tie or lose. It's fine for 4-man swf, but in solo queue you most likely just want to move on.

You cant change your perks or your items or the add ons on your items. So tony your buddy will have to force a requeue because he forgot to equip his stupid map. Your plan's is archaic and frustrating. I don't want my consumable's on my items or add ons locked in the minute I queue up. If some killer or survivor is going in with busted add ons or survivor items either balance them or stop moaning about the consumable's system.

You can change loadout but it will change your MMR. So if you take strong stuff in lobby your mmr will raise above your opponent. And as result when your opponent win or lose his base mmr change as they played against stronger opponent. If they win they will get higher boost to their base mmr in next games.

It will probably not solve all issues with sbmm but mmr calculations will be more accurate in result.

So you know, when you see 4x medkits and offering that they are boosted af :D

It would really hard to do anything like that, because it's not always same power-level for each killer.

STBFL for Demo is something completely different than Doctor for example.

Ruin for Blight and for Clown.

    etc.

I know that. All killers intended to have separate MMR so it's possible to make some maps and perks give different MMR change to different killers. I know it's not easy solution. It's hard but it's possible.

  • Survivor can move faster than 150%. You need to get hit while have Hope, Adrenaline and boost from Clown's Antidote. Rare case but you definitely can get more than 150% speed boost.

  • I prefer chase and detection over gens and endgame. Stealth is also fun to have sometimes.

  • I think it's impossible to make this game scary at this point.

Even if we remove terror radius from all killers. Even if we make thicker fog. Even if we make maps pitch dark. Even if we make killers have basekit devour hope with 5 stacks. Even if you make jump scares pop up every couple of minutes.

All that will make the game more annoying and not scary.

You naturally can't feel the terror sitting in comfy chair and playing a game when you already get used to all its tricks.

  • Huntress. When I play huntress I'm 100% confident that I am deadly killer and I am in full control of the situation. Even when I lose I don't feel like I wasn't in the power role.

Nemesis gives me pretty much the same feeling.

I'm not a god like killer, I do miss hatchets and tentacle strikes and I have a lot to learn. But answering the question I do feel like a power role with this two killers.

  • It can scare you from time to time but not with atmosphere.

Most of the time you can be jumpscared by beartrap, hag's trap or some killer without terror radius.

  • This footage looks great but there is so much dark areas. Any survivor could blend there.

  • Grind

    Queue times

I have only 2. I'm ok with everything else. Even that 2 problems not bother me too much.

  • Agreed. I was sure devs will make range limit instead of capacity limit. That would be difficult and interesting at the same time.

With 5 hatchets you can take 5 health states. With this addon only 2 but slightly faster. And you need to waste way more time to reload.

Weird change. They make iridecent addon worse than base kit (her base kit is not bad though). Now only reason to take this addon is challenge yourself.

  • I was in same situation recently. I was unhooked on endgame and Bubba was chasing me. I was dodging his hits and almost made it to the middle of the exit gates. There was 2 teabaggers on exit line ducking repeatedly instead of bodyblock for me. They could take hits and we all would escape. Even if they bait him to rev chainsaw we would be fine.

I don't know if they are selfish or just stupid. I guess it's a bit of both.

  • Nerf Blood Warden. The perk that helps once in 1000 years. The perk that make killer play with 3 perks before endgame. The perk that have multiple ways to counter it. The perk that have time limit twice (or even four times) shorter than endgame. Sure, nerf Blood Warden.

  • Never used corrupt on any killer after I got Plague adept. I don't like the idea of forcing survivors to spread out early. And I don't like perks that have strongly limited use.

I don't use Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer because I don't want to addict to strong stuff.

Sometimes I use PGTW but after Pinhead release I switched it to Deadlock on some killers.

But most of my killers have no slowdown perks. Just detection and chase. And I also like perks that hide terror radius.

  • English is not my first language and I can't even say I know English, so I'm probably wrong, but I feel like it pronounced like this.

  • My queue times pretty much same as yours, but killer times become faster maybe from 10PM. And recently killer times wasn't as instant as before SBMM. It still takes about minute to find lobby.

  • I remember when I start playing killer I had a good time. My first games were pretty chill and fun. Then I ranked up to the place where survivors bullying unexpirienced killers and I felt pretty much same as described in the post.

It was some kind of stress wall. When I played against confident survivors I was losing my mind. My hands were shaking and I did stupid mistakes even if I knew I do it wrong. They could just give me one free hit and run me for 5 gens. Injured survivor is appealing target so he can run a baby killer forever.

Once you stop being offended by tbaging and clicks you will have more control of situation. This is fundamental and most important part of being good killer. Stop thinking they are better than you.

Then you need to learn how to counter flashlights and stun saves. If you see them running around with flashlights be ready for save attempt. You can wait upon downed survivor and easily bait rescuer for free hit. Face the wall when picking up survivor. Hide your red stain in high wall loops. Fake your direction in short loops to make survivor hesitate. There a lot to learn to loop chase effectively. When you carrying survivor to the hook and survivors swarm you with bodyblocks, feel free to give them free hits. If you lose survivor from grasp you will get whole team injured and they won't do this trick again. Be patient and wait for dead hards when chasing injured survivor. If survivor is healthy don't be affraid of pallets, just go through and hit. Good survivors don't waste pallets when it's not necessary. This is basic for most killers.

When you have some expirience you no longer affraid to play killer even against best tournament squads. You may not win every game, but you will never be stressed about losing.

  • I had a great time with Nemesis. I put 2 addons on zombies to make them faster and with bigger effective range, so they rarely stuck. They actually were useful.

And I only used tentacle strike. That was really fun games.

  • I'll keep playing killer. It's still more fun than solo survivor.

  • I kind of agree. I like old Built to Last in combo with Streetwise.

How is 70k concurrent players not that big? I want a mode where i can see my mmr and grind it, now we have a mix of everything that is very unsatifying.

It's 70k at very peaks. Even then my killer queue times are pretty long. It was instant before SBMM.

  • I don't think it would be meta. You still need to waste almost gen worth time to refill your toolbox several times.

But if it will be meta, killers will bring Iron Maden and Overwhelming presence more often.

Dont get me wrong I think we both have very valid points but for me I go against this type of stuff CONSTANTLY at higher mmr but because dbd has taken killer out of the power role for the most part I think a casual mode is a must for the future of this game

You are not wrong in my opinion. I just think right now dbd is not ready to divide playerbase to different game modes.

If there was at least 500 000 online, new game modes would become necessary. But currently it might hurt the game.

  • @Legionair said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2526460#Comment_2526460

it would be different because of mmr????? That way people who want to be sweatlords can get 0 gain from playing casual so they would play ranked and killers could take a break from the constant keys and bnp?

I don't see constant keys and bnp in my killer matches. Sincerely sorry for you if you have all your matches like this.

And I don't think you will relax in casual mode. When you not risking losing the rank you will not take game seriously. You can try to play on PTB tonight or tomorrow, you will see what i'm talking about. Some survivors would play to win and some survivors would just chase you with flashlights. And they all will just DC whenever they want.

Is that kind of matches you would like to play? That not sound relaxing to me.

  • @Legionair said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2522325#Comment_2522325

Dont take this the wrong way here and yes this is a bit biased for killer but how can ANY killer play casually rn with this mmr update? one game ill get survivors who cant run a TL to a 4 stack swf with 2 BNP with 3 games in between. Thats the thing, there is no casual for killer anymore but if you play survivor its obviously not going to feel too much different unless you win 12 games in a row

And how would it be different from casual mode? In casual mode you may also encouter all sorts of players that desided to give it a try. Some of them will be genrushing sweatlords, some of them would be beginners and some of them will be just memers running around and grief. Casual mode is not rated so you would get same matches as usual if not worse. All that for the price of not losing rating and longer queue times.
