One perk to avoid a problem most will run into, a problem most people have with the balance of this game overall.

Tapes were not scary at all. There were games survivors would just rush gens and leave because they could avoid condemned and never touch tapes until necessary. Tapes now are far scarier because they have the drawback of getting hit could result in a death. Tapes before just gained you condemned, which only made survivors avoid them more since you could easily run away when she teleported nearby.

In my opinion I was happy that they didn‘t use them so all my TVs were on.

I don‘t ever played the condemned way I just tped around and it was fun. Also I did well and got almost everytime 2-4 kills. It‘s not like it was a problem that they didn‘t take one.

I find that kinda silly with how Sadako is.

Tapes should absolutely counter condemned, thematically with the story of the original and mechanically. You can argue global condemned is an issue but tapes shouldn't just be to shut down TVs. Sadako is still an M1 killer so good players won't even bother with it, her teleport takes enough time for them to get to a safe spot.

The problem with old Sadako is she was an M1 killer with a very unreliable power. Teleporting isn't the same as a hatchet you can throw or a instant down from stalking, Dredge is a prime example of this. There should be a back and forth with the tapes, be it with the current Sadako or with some adjustments/changes. People who want old Sadako don't remember how many Sadako players desperately wanted buffs because she was effectively just an M1 with a stealth ability that can be heard/seen with heartbeat sensor.

I only meant the tapes shouldn‘t be like now, where they are mostly used to counter condemned. They should counter only her tp. I think they should be buffed to be more useful against the TVs and still give the condemned if you hold them too long and when you put them in it reduces the stacks like before.

You could very well use the tp in chase and get value out of it, I had never an issue with it.

In my opinion she should get her old version with some buffs like the pallet immunity and shorter tv cooldowns ( maybe no cooldown). The tapes should make a longer cooldown (or be the only thing what deactivates TVs). So people will interact with it. Also I would like a more effective glitching and a faster switching between her power, I think it was faster before.

  • @radiantHero23 I‘m so happy that I‘m not the only one defending old sadako.

You don't have to spam condemned with her change either. I don't and still get 3-4ks just fine.

I even run VCR and Distorted Photo and focus on hit and run/chase.

Then it would be far easier for you with the old version, besides the condemned everything was better before. Only no undetectable, which isn‘t that good and no pallet immunity.

  • I agree, it‘s too weak now. The only purpose it should do (being quiet), it‘s not doing. Killer always hear you if they don‘t listen to music.

  • Both perks are fine. To get to the point, where STBFL is useful isn‘t that easy (for me).

Sloppy is also fine, that healing is slower. It just gives you more time, so the gens are flying a bit slower

  • The Onryo isn‘t fun to play since the rework. I mained her before the rework. It‘s not just the survivors.

The fun part was playing a hit and run playstile. The rework made her a lot worse in her kit, maybe against bad survivors better, but against good far worse.

Why should I want to spam condemned as killer.

Condemned was a side effect before, which was fine, but to force someone to play like this just, because it is the only thing that works. Is just stupid.

I agree that the cooldown should be much shorter, after a tp. Also the tape should be a counter to her tv and the teleport. So taking one to disable one should be worth it.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3595530#Comment_3595530

You know how 6 stacks of STBFL feels now? That's how it would feel.

    Not world-endijy, I assure you.

I think for me it would be fine. I rarely use it and when I‘m playing bad, I‘m stuck at 2 stacks. In rare cases I get to 7/8 stacks.

    I don‘t think it needs a nerf.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Why are some people hyped about good/decent Killers getting nerfed?

I loved playing old sadako, since the rework I couldn’t play her like before ( tp around switch targets and have fun)

    @ChaosWam said:

    I have mixed feelings.

The new changes, to me, were only problematic because of slug condemned and players refusing to interact with her power. If they bring her back to what she was before, it will just be having no TVs to teleport to due to high cooldowns, no incentives to interact with her TVs because it's not a threat, condemned buildup will be rare, probably incentivize even more condemned slug and have those who don't focus on condemned and play for her stealth even worse since she still has a lullaby. Not to mention she's still just an M1 killer who can be looped mindlessly.

They could just buff those stats that they are available more often, through a shorter cooldown and I think taking a tape should deactivate the TVs longer than the cooldown is. I heard someone that said nobody picked the tapes because it wasn‘t even worth it.

The tapes should only be the counter to the TVs, not condemned and TVs.

My main problem with her new version was that every TV close to survivors was off, not that they disabled it on purpose, just because of the condemned, so I couldn’t tp to them.

A minor thing with that I could live was the 10s cooldown.

I don‘t know why everybody is so worried about the old condemned, when I played her I never like it on purpose and I had never a game against someone who did it. Also why would anyone want a weaker version of her with stronger condemned if it‘s so bad?

  • @radiantHero23 said:

I have to see what the changes for Stbfl will be. If it's just pre 6.1.0 Stbfl I'm fine. If it's more, I'm definitely not ok with it.

How was it back then, what would change?

  • @Aldinoz said:

Insidious being a perk nobody runs, only the facamping Bubbas before the anti facecamping patch, and having only one change in all history of Dead by Daylight, i feel this perk needs some attention.

I had an idea to rework this perk, being this the new effect:

-You start the trial indetectable for 200/240/300 seconds, or a survivor looses a health state, then this perk deactivates

I feel this rework keep the "identity" of the perk (If ever had one, lol). Also is not that strong, but is not useless neither, can help having a free hit, or even a grab and to spook survivors and jumpscare them:)

I think it would be fine if it doesn‘t trigger Anti- face camping for an x amount of time and then that part gets a cooldown

  • @radiantHero23 said:

    We finally won guyssssss!!!!!!

Yes I‘m so happy I hope she gets the old tapes and her old to speed back. Also some of the changes like the pallet immunity would be nice.

I hope she gets her 10m terroradius back so I could scare people with the instant terrorradius.

  • I think the one, where you get blinded will be cool, maybe it should be a half second longer.

  • The visuel terror radius also shows you, when the Onryo is in undetectable near you, which seems a bit problematic for me.

  • At least it should show you with Bond and the perk of yoichi in a locker

  • @Steakdabait said:

Why would it be money? They could have actully gone for good killer design, instead they keep releasing those "drop something somewhere, get a free hit" crap.

And why would they ban me for saying that? It is my opinion that those killers are terrible designed. Terrible is the only word that comes even close to how bad they very very unfortunatly are.

Or is anybody here who truely thinks "Yea cool! Finally a game against a Skull Merchant/Knight/Artist ect"?

I liked Onryo before the rework. Playing as her and against her was fun back then.

Xeno isn‘t that strong you can easily just run around things and he misses all the time.

Chuck I think will be fun, we will se him tomorrow.

  • That‘s the outcome of the Anti- face camping now the killer doesn‘t stay at the hook, where he just cared about one hanging on a hook, you could still traide and buy time.

    Now they only tunnel.

I would like it as perk (AFC), then it would happen more often, that you can free yourself.

I would be fine with search progress getting saved but if they do that then skill check modifying perks should work with the boxes again to help balance it out a bit and add some extra spice to Pig.

I would love to use huntress lullaby with her. I saw it in a video and played it a lot, after I realized that it got patched.

  • I would want a ghost face or Myers outfit for survivor. I don‘t know who would fit that.

I dont want to abandon my proggres made from 2017, items and event skins. I've read about crossave Console-PC will be implemented but articles about that was written around 2021 and we're at end of 2023.

So is Console-PC crossave ever gonna happen, even if it ment to rebuy base game and DLC?

Or should I start over and create new account on steam?

It wasnt strong. It was hilarious. I care more about the experience rather than about escaping that much as survivor, therefore I just enjoyed being insidious camped in the basement. It made me laugh.

Also.... How often did it really happen that you got a REAL insidious basement bubba? They where pretty rare last time I checked.

It was really funny when you got hooked in the basement, then the whole team comes one after another to safe you and one after another ends up hooked next to you.

  • I don‘t understand why we don‘t have the chat after a game on console. I would like to read what some people write. I know some messages, maybe most would be toxic.

I would like a chat like in other games to communicate with others, so that you could maybe also find friends in game.

  • CoH is almost useless without selfcare in it.

Why should I walk with an other person 10+s there, only to take half the time at this point it really doesn‘t matter.

  • @dom234275 said:

For some reason after a locker has been locked and opened it can't be locked again, this would be fine except in some niche scenarios it makes gens impossible because the locker is a single right behind it so you literally can't get away without getting hit.

I play dredge quite often and it‘s so annoying.

You tp everytime in the one, which is locked and there is no way, except of hitting them to make that they are unlocked or waiting that you open it.

It really sucks, when every locker on the map is locked. It‘s everytime a mistake to tp, when that happens. There should be a way that resets them all to open after night fall or after a gen.

Doesn‘t the thing respawn after some time?

  • @UndeddJester said:

Not that I'm an expert, but from what I've seen, the Onryo was only strong with the iridescent video tape add on that turned back on your TVs you'd ported to if you knew timings on demanifistation hits.

You needed that add-on for your map presense and condemn stacking, as it was actually better for Survivors to let you teleport to the TV and disable it for 100s than it was to disable the TV themselves for 60s AND force them to build up condemned while carrying the tape. If the Onryo caught them with the tape and worked out the TV they needed, she could camp to force condemn upon them and kill them.

This means noone cared about your tapes, so your TVs were almost always available to you, which is pretty backwards if you ask me as a power.

The one thing that is a problem now is the fact Sadako can herp a derp teleport to build condemn to catch out newbie players, and otherwise struggles against high level players who know better. I made this suggestion upon her release that I still think would be a good change for her even now.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/385330/a-change-for-onryo-to-smooth-out-the-polarisation

It'd being back her skill expression, reducing the effectiveness of her TP spam, and allow her to still exert condemn pressure on tape carriers. If she scores her hits and the predicts their attempts to secure a new tape, she can really start to punish players even at high levels with heavy condemn.

Sorry that I don‘t understand everything, so I can‘t mention everything.

„the Onryo was only strong with the iridescent video tape add on that turned back on your TVs you'd ported to if you knew timings on demanifistation hits.“

I don‘t think you needed it, but it was really good.

„it was actually better for Survivors to let you teleport to the TV and disable it for 100s than it was to disable the TV themselves for 60s“

Maybe it should have been changed that the teleport disables is less long than the tape.

I don‘t think that the condemned should be her power. Instead the tp and the condemned as side effect. My main complain is that all TVs are off, where people are, so her real power is useless. I loved the fast tp speed before her rework, I would love 0 cooldown, but it wouldn‘t matter if it‘s 10s, so long as TVs are available.

Also my problem with her is, that now you don’t have the option how to play her. If you don‘t play condemned spam, she is useless.

Against people, who know how she works, she is basically a killer with no power, that knows where the TVs are off.

I like your idea with the tapes more than the current one, but the old one will stay my favorite.

  • @radiantHero23 said:

I really dislike every reworked and newly released killers having some form of long cooldown slapped onto them.

    • Sadako, 10s
    • Skull merchant, 10s
    • Xeno, 3s miss cooldown, snail movement speed during this time
    • Chucky, 18s cooldown
    • Trickster, still 44 blades despite taking 8 to injure again like on release

Its the main reason why I despise playing wesker, since I feel punished doing M2 into M2 instead of m1 into m2 or vice versa. Weskers cooldown could easily be reduced to 5s per token (not including infection reduction) and he's be fine.

Kinda boring to use and I really hope the trend doesn't continue. Chucky having 18s, while spirit has 15s and blight having 10s, seems illogical when his power is marginally weaker than theirs.

I Also don‘t like like the long cooldown. I hate the sadako rework she isn‘t fun anymore. Xeno is too punishing for also dealing with turrets, which slow you down. Skull merchant is better now, but still too annoying and that she gets undetectable is too much. Chucky I can‘t tell, how it will feel, when playing him. For trickster I think 8 blades is too much, I just started playing him and it‘s not so easy against good survivors to land a hit.

You forgot ghost face, which ability also takes ages to recharge and then he also gets stalked by a survivor, which takes him out of his power.

  • @FunkyMunkey said:

I would love to see his cooldown reduced and bumping into things less punishing. He should be a bit more quicker overall (not movement speed), and his addons should either be useful, fun, or both. It's sad that people don't wanna play as him, cause they know how tricky and rough he is to play. Any buffs to billy at this point would be appreciated! ty for reading

I really like playing him and I don‘t think he is bad, but sometimes tricky.

    I would love some buffs.

  • What I don‘t understand. People claim that she is stronger without spamming condemned, but her tp speed and the available TVs are a lot worse than before.

The pallet immunity is nice, but not game changing and with the untetectable it’s the same.

Getting condemned after getting hit isn‘t really good if you don‘t play the condemned way too.

What am I misunderstanding, where is she better without condemned spamm?

  • My games as killer are just not fun anymore, I play only against sweats and tryhards.

Most of them are p100 or close to it.

My highest hook count today was 5 and most times I only got 1-3 hooks.

I‘ve just rage quited Dbd today, which happens very rarely.

On survivors side I have to say it’s far easier for me.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3592080#Comment_3592080

99% of the community thought that Condemn was the only only viable build on pre-rework Sadako, including Otz who attempted win streaks on both of them. Regardless, Otz already proved current Onyro can do well without slugging, tp spamming, and Iri tape. I suggest you practice her more if you think otherwise.

Why did I never play against, that 99% before her rework then.

And say something without him as proof.

He could also win with the weakest killer in the game, he is just a very good player.

Current Onryo without tp spam hasn‘t really an ability, she can only see we’re the TVs are off and tp where nobody is.

What you said is just that every killer with no ability is good and just practice more to be better with no ability.

In my opinion her TVs were her real power in the past. You can tell me, what she can do without condemned spam now.

If I remember correctly; if games do not require PS+ to play Online, they must provide other services to make up for it.

Games like Fortnite and Apex have PS+ Exclusive cosmetics, which I dont will sit well with the DBD playerbase seeing how people do not like FOMO.

saboteur will go on cool down soon as you start using it, meaning if you stop mid way through you will have to wait the 60s before you can actually sabotage the hook. this wouldn't be that big of a problem if it wasn't for the fact that healing someone is the same button as using saboteur, ppl heal under hook after unhooking a lot meaning often times you end up using saboteur instead of healing your team. this leaves you with 2 options.

1 finish using saboteur witch will not only leave the player injured longer it make another loud noise notification right over the injured player.

2 stop using saboteur putting it on cooldown for 60s without sabotaging a hook so you can heal a player without making a loud noise notification over them again

I would keep the change where she can't be pallet stunned while demanifested. It is a very weak change that doesn't add much but it is a nice complement thematically and does have niche uses.

I would keep the Ring Drawing add-on nerf to discourage slugging and encourage hookplay.

I would also keep the shorter TV cool-down times to make her less reliant on the old Iri-tape. Then probably nerf the old Iri-tape add-on and bake some of it into basekit.

I think she was a fine killer overall before reworks and just needed some small quality of life tweaks and changes. Not this rework which sucked all the fun out of playing her.

What do you think about the undetectable change?

I would like to have a terror radius (small one like before) to use UW and scare people a bit. Most times they just ran into me, which made it easier. Now I‘m standing behind them and it takes too long to demanivast. They hear it and run.

For the addons, I have no idea, what they were.

    @Skitten56

  • @Skitten56, which parts of the new Onryo would like to stay if she gets her old version back.

I personally like that you are able to go threw survivors, when in her mode.

"Pre-rework you could tryout a number of fun builds and playstlyes and still be successful with her. Now if you do anything but a full condemn build you are pretty much screwing yourself against any decent players. This is bad for Onryo and makes her a much less interesting killer."

It's the opposite. The only build that was viable before was Condemn slugging. Now you can play Onyro normally if you want. Otz got a 40 win streak with Onyro without slugging and said it was very easy. Current Onyro is healthier and far more versatile.

I don‘t understand why people aren‘t making their own opinion and just copy what a streamer said.

And if you think the condemned was bad, then for me the old version without condemned, would be far better and more fun than the version we have right now.

I don‘t understand, why behavior took the part that people complained about and made it the main way to play her!

  • @Skitten56 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3591750#Comment_3591750

The loss of skill expression really makes her boring to me. It used to be incredibly fun to play her even when I would lose matches. Now it feels boring to play her even when I win matches.

"Then they nerfed her Passive Phasing add-on which was a unique chase power... And I guess replaced it with the lackluster power to not get stunned while Demanifested."

This add-on change made no sense and further ruined the fun of engaging in chases with her.

Finally, on the survivor's side: taking a tape is now objectively the better choice. No longer is it a risk/reward scenario... It is just her counter. The cursed tape counters her curse... Not spreading her message through TVs, holding on to it.

I really disliked this change as well. It goes against the source material and feels odd. It also means that her mobility suffers greatly compared to pre-rework due to survivors always turning off TVs now without the condemn risk they used to have pre-rework. Pre-rework survivors were punished for interacting with cursed tapes and being near Onryo. Now they are rewarded for taking cursed tapes. It is a unfortunate aspect of the rework. Cursed tapes aren't even cursed anymore.

I was nearly a full-blown Onryo main before the rework... But I can't bring myself to play her now outside of daily rituals.

Same. I used to play her in like 80% of my killer games. Now it is maybe 5% because it just isn't enjoyable anymore. I don't care that she is stronger now in the average game, she just isn't fun to play due to the rework changes.

I really hope BHVR will just drop the rework or at least change some add-ons to make her function more like she used to for those of us how enjoyed her fluid teleportation gameplay.

    I‘m completely on your side.

I loved the killer like it was. For me her real ability were the TVs with fast teleport.

You could just switch targets immediately and find people easily without worrying about gens.

She also was my main before the rework.

1 … 20 21 22 23 24
