survivors got angry at me in post chat today because i camped 2 guys in the basement after they finished 3 gens in the first 3 mins. I could've just dodged the lobby because 3 had toolboxes but sometimes i just want to play regardless.
i had survivors mad at me yesterday for similar, it was on that really split map sorry forget that name and I hooked the first two I caught in the basement on one side meanwhile 4 gens popped and the survivors had 3-gemmed themselves around the basement. Sorry, I’m not leaving the area of 3 gens and 2 hooked survivors to come to literally an empty side of the map now.

Escaping is a mega win for me lol, the rare time I’ve slipped the opposite way after a loop and realized the killer lost me I was so thrilled

just remove huntress it clear you survivors wont be happy until she is weak like clown and unfun like nurse.
That doesn’t add to the conversation, I play both sides and If I main any killer it’s huntress but I think the frustration over her hitboxes and Iri hatchets is justified.
I mean all killers have wonky Hits with dedicated but I know when I play survivor against huntress, run around a corner, then get hit 3 seconds later somehow it STINKS

Consider that if everyone wants to farm, nobody in that match is going to report it. Mandy and I are saying the same thing, and I also personally don't like farming matches. I'd rather play the game properly.
Thank you for clarification. I agree though farming is boring, and I mentioned somewhere I don’t even think it’s that much faster way to earn BP. Also once you give any indication of farming people take it too far, as a killer I’ve actually had to kill survivors before because they wouldn’t do gens at all just wanted me to keep injuring them over and over.

I'm honestly shocked I don't see killers/survivors using bloodpoint perks more often.
Or offerings, I have so many games when no one uses offerings and I’ll watch streamers play without even though they literally have hundreds of the brown blood point offerings on each killer. Why not just take the extra 1-2k

i agree for most parts, but you can't say p3 is optional when it having minor buff on your bloodweb
if you play that character again and again.. you know
People have tested this the different is negligible, on my killers that aren’t prestige I still have tons of the ultra rares. If you watch Ralph stream he even explains one some killers the change is actually a bad thjng, for example Huntress has less chance to get oak haft because it’s yellow

You might do something wrong then. 1 year is more than enough time to get one fully decked out survivor and killer with tons of items and addons.
Also, devs recently announced new prestige rewards. And just IMAGINE devs would cut off the grind like they did in 2016 and just IMAGINE they would give awesome cosmetics or something else like they did with legacy.
I get your point tho, but all I'm saying is that you should have more than enough bp to p3 at least a few of your mains. Would be sad if you miss out on cool rewards. Cuz as more you invest into a character beyond level 50 but still on prestige 0 the more it's going to be waste of bloodpoints when you change your mind and want to prestige
I agree about the point, once you’re past 50 the more you spend the more you risk giving up if you ever prestige.
However if legacy is just another cosmetic I wouldn’t be sad missing it, if it was cool enough I’d want it on my Meg and my Huntress, I play multiple survivors and all killers but those are my “mains.” However sooo many people are P3 now the new legacy or whatever would’ve be that rare

Being fair,they do try to pick ones that are well known and/have widespread appeal. I'm not sure Dark Tower fits that bill. I mean Roland would pretty much just be Deathslinger without a harpoon. Unless you have some suggestions to make it cool. I'd like to see some kind of Vampire, personally. Don't really care. Kain,Lestat,Dracula, Nosferatu, whatever. Even Mobius or Blade or something lol. Just feel like they could make that interesting. The devs do a good job on the original ones even. The ones they come up with are better than anything I can do. I like how they make the powers and stuff really fighting sometimes. Like Freddy and Michael Myers. They make a lot of sense to me.
I through Oni’s chapter was going to be a vampire of some sort from one of the teasers... not sure how it would work but I liked vampire before the whole twilight nonsense

Farming is something we frown upon as as a rule. It's also something that is reportable in game especially if you are forcing players to farm against their will.
Speaking as a player, it's incredibly boring to be stuck in a farming match!
You say especially if you are forcing players to farm,whereas another mod @drimmalor says it is ONLY if you are forcing players to farm. Here is the thread https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/138825/is-farming-a-bannable-offense he even says and i quote... "Farming" off the hook is different than going into a game to work with everyone to get points. Neither are inherently bannable as long as it's not griefing.

In a way that killer is not killing just hooking than hitting survivors than he lets them leave.
Is that okay or are there any rules against this? I don't mind it just curious I also sometimes do it but very rarely.
Here's the thing, farming for Bloodpoints is really not as great as most people think or act. You spend like 20 minutes doing all kinds of stupid stuff to get 25k-30k each whereas you could just play two games "normally," and still make that much or more. Of course queue times will impact this, as well as games where multiple people bring BPS or cakes but as a rule of thumb farming isn't an efficient way to make more bloodpoints than just playing the game.

It's a mindset thing.
"If your paying to skip parts of the grind because you don't enjoy the grind then you shouldn't be playing" -some Wiseman on my freindslist
"Unlocking lvls or characters in the game is part of the game however the effort is paying means you haven't earned it"
When I made the pay increase at work and realized that If I just stay late alittle the night before the dlc comes out that staying late pays for it and skips the grind completely i had alot of these talks
Interesting quotes, I enjoy this discussion really. I would say i enjoy the grind actually. Right now I have all perks on all killers and all survivor perks unlocked, also have all perks on about 5-6 survivors which is fine because I only play Meg, Kate and Steve really.
Yet I’m still playing and grinding points versus because I enjoy it, just for me rather than prestige my huntress I’d rather stick up on extra hatchets addons... I have a mix match outfit I really enjoy on her I would never swap to bloody anyways.

Hi..
-I'm at rank 1 rn and my friends are also red ranks 1-2;
-The common perk we use is Dead Hard, Followed by Iron Will, Spine chill and Resilience(fast vault build 'cause is very useful when you get it 10 meters away from the window)
At Least one person use Decisive only to not get hooked again if mistakes happen (We don't use DS in Toxic ways, if you don't have it, killers will pick you up instantly cause they free to tunnel of the hook);
-most of the time we escape because matchmaking is really broken, we usually face green ranks killers or purple and it is Bs, Sometimes we gave killers kills bc is very sad that they are put against us.. ;
-Spirit with Stridor, A very good Billy, Very good Nurse, Doctor, Hag or The new guy the DeathSlinger (Forgot his name);
-Every other killer is actually not easy, just not challenging as the ones ive put up in the list..the easiest ones are Pig, Wraith, Bubba(if he's not facecamping) and Legion;
-As i said before, it's bs that most of the time the killers are not from red ranks, when we face a red rank killer is usually a challenge, but when they aren't..;
-One player usually decide to get chased, killers still hunt them and they lose...you know..And we don't play toxic or abuse anything...we want to escape, its our goal, but we don't need to make the other part feel miserable..there's always a person behind the Tv or monitor..;
-the usually tend to tunnel pretty hard, and sometimes we use a flashlight..you know what happens next, they don't patrol..i've seen killer with pop non using it for example and they had the gen right next to them only to stay in the chase...;
-When killers use noed I tend most of the time to find it bc we have a survivor that hunts totems(usually me) but in the new maps its hard to find them.Sometimes we are over altruistic..
i Hope i've answered all of your questions, want to remind that we play killer too so we're not biased or we want killers to get nerfed, we actually want most of the killers to receive buffs..they need to fix some addons but in the end it is a game, and the goal is to spend time having fun.
I'm not english so if there are many errors i'm sorry..i'm still learning. Have a good day.
Not to side track, can you clarify what you mean by "use it 10 meters from the window?" I've tried the fast vault build before maybe I'm doing it wrong, do I have to spam the action button or what?

Huntress has couple of garbage add-ons that make no sence like one that reveals auras of lockers or one that put haemorrhage status effect. Your add-on could easily replace some of these.
Well thank you!

It takes longer for me to grind out that 8k shards and/or 650k bps than it does for me to make 10 dollars to spend on dlc. So for me st least, the 650k bps is more valuable. So spending the 8k on bps just makes more sense, for me I know not everyones in that situation
Yeah, I know this is a personal thing and I can't tell other people how to feel but I'm with you. Reminds me of World of Warcraft, people would literally spend 100 hours a month to earn "free tokens," for their subs... again I would rather pay the $15 but time and money are worth different things depending on your situation I guess.

I thought it was out next week but I could be wrong. You need to reach the end of the level 3 to unlock level 4 path.
They released the dates but I can't find the topic, maybe someone else has a forum or twitter link @Peanits but remember they do 2 weeks between 1-2 and between 2-3 but they do 3 weeks between level 3 and 4.
-
@Peanits said:
I would assume that they're saying it because the two aren't mutually exclusive. You'd still go for all perks after prestiging, you'd have just spent a few million BP to get that point.
They aren’t exclusive BUT once you get all the perks and have a stockpile of addons and offerings prestige feels hard to pull the trigger on.
Honestly the design team is AMAZING and they’ve released at least one if not five outfits for everyone I play that I like more than the bloody clothes. So kudos to them

I get the feeling it won't be a one time reward. I feel as if it will be something to replace the old increased bloodweb item rarity that they took off last time. Maybe something like nodes are 5% cheaper for a character for each prestige level they have. But who knows what it will be or if they actually even will do anything.
I was thinking it would be cosmetic, but just guessing honestly. That would be weird because prestige is already a cosmetic thing but I guess they did it with legacy before. What about the option to change colors of your outfit?
All I know Is if it’s charms that’s a huge letdown
-
@Dehitay said:
Dang, I'm honestly surprised that even with new prestige rewards being hinted at, this many people still seem so sure about not prestiging their characters. As long as you don't mind the risk of it actually being something good, I guess not prestiging does save you bloodpoints and help get to tier 3 perks faster. But most people who have looked into everything about bloodwebs will tell you that prestige rewards have changed before and there's no garuntee that they won't change again. And now there's a very strong chance that they'll be changing soon. Sure, the bloody cosmetics are far from the best cosmetics for most characters, but even if you're not into those cosmetics or completion, you still have to take into consideration the possibility of prestige rewards changing again when considering whether or not to prestige.
I'm thinking they will announce the rewards a bit ahead of time, or release them and give X amount of weeks to get them. They may even stick around forever. If they are good, and I want them I could easily power level one survivor and the few killers I actually play full time.

People who say that are the same people who say, "Spirit strategy is get a good headset and you get free 4ks," or "Freddy just spams traps and gets a free 4k," that works against potato teams and it gives new or bad killers a chance to compete without too much practice but it isn't going to get you far against good players and SWF teams.

you can calculate like that of course, the counter argument is that money is more for real life and not to cut off playtime you would need to "waste". sure, you pay money for the game anyway, but it sounds like you don't enjoy it when getting shards is such a pain. Money is for some people more valuable than time. Just an opinion
Oh absolutely. When it comes to money I never intend to tell people whats more valuable or how they should use it. I just meant for myself if I can get an outfit from the store I go that route before spending time prestige.
Pyramid head may be the first I change my mind on simply because I have done all of the steps to max out saved BPs I’m thinking between my 1 million, the rifts, shrine and dailies I will be able to get him to p2 on day 1 and then start to level him normally. If someone (Paulie) leaks a sweet outfit before that I’ll hold off and just buy it

I think there’s an extra week before the last level right? So it would come out the same week as Silent hill. Didn’t a mod announce June 17th for level 4? And June 16 for silent hill

So not farming means the killer is a jerk? I can't confirm that quote if that is not what you say.
Games have been cringy since the Ruin change imo. Killers turning into tunnelers more to get a grip on the game, survivors gen rushing more to counter that. Not sure if it is all a result of the Ruin change.
But I'd not blame that on the BPS if at all, more on the overall experience atm
Nope, sorry I didn’t mean that. No one should feel obligated to farm either side. I was kind of generalizing that there is no middle ground once a BPS pops up. The killers either want to farm a half hour game or tunnel and face camp even more than usual. I never seem to just get a “normal game,” once a BPS shows up
-
@Name_Unavailable said:
I stopped using it, Because idk if im just being unlucky that everytime i use it i face tunneler killer, Or fair killers become tunnlers if they see this offreing lol.
I think it’s mostly the second. I think when me or a teammate uses BPS then 9/10 times the killer decides to be a jerk to ruin someone’s game. Then you get that rare killer who nods immediately and wants to farm so everyone gets 20-30k points
-
@WRussoW said:
To be honest, I don't understand people who say that prestiging costs THAT much time and bloodpoints. If you compare the time you waste on P3 to the time you waste on getting all tier 3 perks, prestiging looks really cheap by that point.
Because most of the time I find a Rift or store cosmetic that I like more than the bloody. I’d rather ya ten bucks than waste hours of time, yes I know it’s a game so all time is wasted but you get my point. For most people that $10 is an hour or less of work so it’s the most time efficient option

That’s how decent Hags play, watch a really good Hag. They are precise with their web of traps, smart about when to chase and when not to, willing to give up early gens to set up late pressure.
I can play Hag and 4K against ransoms and solos but I am far from a good Hag, Those ones can wipe the floor with coordinated SWF even with flashlights

Win win

There is a lot of ideas to make interesting add-ons for Huntress. Add-on to make hatchets hit through survivor and able to hit multiple targets. Not good in chases but crucial against healing in front of killer. Add-on to break pallets and breakable walls with hatchets. If it feels like overpovered it could be breaking pallets while charged. I also like idea of add-on revealing auras further than 40 meters while hatchet charged. Add-on to ignore any collisions while charged. Maybe too much.
This add-on ideas seems to be powerful as iridecent add-ons should be. But there no instadowns that everyone mad about! Also every killer should have two iridecent add-ons.
Good ideas there! You could even do something like Nurse and Dr have showing the arc and path of her hatchet for new players but I guess they wouldn’t be Iri level rareness

make it so iri head only downs you at 18+ meters so skillful shots are rewarded. not as a melee alternatives
I see range as the most common idea to fix Iri heads, I mentioned above I think another alternative to differentiate her from the Slinger's addon would be to make Iri head cause the LAST hatchet to be insta down. That way she doesn't get any bonus from bringing the extra hatchet addons too, if anything they would hurt her.

Last Sentence...eh. Killers can do the same with Survivors. With Add Ons. Or with their Power. Or because of questionable design decisions.
Regarding Last Second Switches - those are a product of lobbydodging Killers because they thought it is "their" Lobby. Nobody would last-second switch if they would actually get to play with their Items.
Even tho, who does Last Second Switches for Flashlights in 2020? lol
LOL right, I have literally seen one, count it ONE last second switch in the past year or so and they didn't even bring an item I think they either forgot or were working the bloodweb?
Also I think items should be hidden from the killer anyways, and all offerings secret from both sides.

Chill, although I usually don’t farm because it’s just boring for me. I will generally let everyone go once the door is open, if I down someone I carry them to the exit.
I will farm hooks or pallets if the survivors indicate it, just because I’m thinking it’s more points/pips for all and they may have a rift challenge

You could just bring Franklin's Demise to outright remove items from the game. Survivor items exist as a counterplay to the killer's perks and abilities. Med-Kits exist to mitigate the effect of perks such as Butcher, Dying Light, Thana, Repair kits exist to speed up gens and mitigate anti-repair speed killer addons, and Flashlights serve as an offensive weapon for survivors to use to shake up the game
This game is full of checks and balances on both sides it is what helps make the game more entertaining. The Dwight was doing good disabling your traps and buying his team time and survival in future chases. You've got to either shake up where you are putting your traps, focus him as a priority target, or bring counters to a flashlight. If you are playing Hag and you see someone put on a Flashlight you have to be prepared to counterplay his potential counterplay
You can't blame the Dwight for using what he can use
I’m glad you’re okay with checks and balances, I assume this means you’re okay with Pyramid head countering DS and BT correct?

This dwight I faced..used an auto haven map offering and a yellow flashlight ..i could not use my power vs him because hed disarm the trap immediately and hag is so slow hed still make it to an abundance of pallets..to make it worse he followed me and made sure i could never set up against his team and they would force disarms on my traps as well..i was in practice..utterly powerless to stop them..all because of 1 yellow item...this is an old out dated design..and should be corrected...why does it seem like every killer I love to play is plagued by these..decisions..so if killer power could NOT be shut down by an item that would be a nice start
Trapper can get wrecked by maps

@Blueberry I would say that they treat both sides with equally bad perks. For example David king No mither perk contains 3 benefits separated by 3 other survivor perks. The first one is Jake Iron will, The second is bill Unbreakable and last one is Yui's Lucky break perk. Iron will and Unbreakable are very old survivor perks and they get used a decent amount. Yui's Lucky break perk is relatively new perk and it only survivor perk that for some reason has timer. The irony about it is that perk isn't even that good.
None of new killer perks have any potential to be used either because they have bad drawback or the effect isn't worth using. Ghostface has thrilling tremors which is BBQ with cooldown and Furtive chase... which has useless token system. Demo has surge which has cooldown, Mindbreaker which has bad values and cruel limits which is worthless. pyramid head and deathslinger perks are more of the same, more perks with heavy cooldown/conditions with mediocre effects that nobody is going to consider using.
In my opinion, the reason why they don't release usable perk is that whenever a perk looks like it has potential to be used, the other side instantly complains about that perk before it even gets released. Evidence can be shown by newest survivor perk Soul Guard. People are going to try to use it for 1 week, They'll realize that the perk activates one in 1/30 games and than they'll just go back to unbreakable because it is more consistent perk. since neither side is willing to let either side have any good perks without complaints., neither side will ever get good perks as a result.
Is lucky break the anti bleeding for 2 minutes? That’s another great example, people have been asking for the no bleeding counterpart to iron will for a long time, when they finally put it in game it had a timer

I'm all for this. I was playing Plague for a ritual and was approaching a generator I knew had been worked on. My Corrupt Purge was about to run out so I yolo-barfed over the rocks around the generator and actually got a hit.
After game chat also suggested I put the scare into someone still new to the game.
Right just screw around some, I’m sick of thinking “if I miss that attack I’m stunned for 3 seconds and this chase...”etc

Is this bait? You can't possibly be serious.
That's a well thought out response, why can't I be serious? Think about it this way, when a killer is kicking a pallet they are locked into starting down, just to KICK something twice. But you can stare behind you for a minute and rework wires?
