I just hit rank 4 after 3 double pips with docter... I can handle terror radius killers with no problem lmao. Honestly think docter is better then ghostface from what I've seen. Hitting red ranks as killer is impossible for some people. I clearly have the skill dude. Idky you think I'm a ######### killer because I run noed on a killer that is almost impossible to get insta downs with anyways. That might be the worst advice I've gotten today no offense. Seemed more like insults than helpful info.

A couple things, not to be that guy but we are 3 weeks into rank reset this is when almost everyone starts to get into the higher ranks. I know, I know this is where you tell me you barely have time to play or you would’ve already been red rank. Gotcha heard that before.

Second, getting red ranks at all isn’t about “being good,” it’s more about time. Yes generally red rank players are better than green but it doesn’t mean they’re always good. I am red ranks in both and there is a huge gap between me and the “good red rank players”, I can win at red ranks with Doctor, Wraith, spirit and Huntress because half of the red survivors are potatoes. I can escape or at least pip at red ranks with meme builds because the survivor emblem system is busted.

Im not going to judge you for using NOED because it’s a perk in the game so if killers use it they use it. There is a counter it’s called cleaning totems or even remembering locations do you can find out later if any of them lit up.

its completely different because to shoot well you have to actually have good mechanics and train a lot, with spirit all you have to do is ######### wait in a pallet and win.

If all they do is wait at the pallet you run away and gain distance, the only way they hit you by “just standing there,” is you actually vault into them. Quite frankly I haven’t vaulted into a spirit in a lonnnggg time I just run and force them to make a read and find me by scratches or grass.

Not quite. You need to earn 8 of those hits by healing, which doesn't always happen and cannot just be assumed.

So it really is 16 which then goes down to 15.

So then No Mither isn’t really that hard of mode since you start with the ability to get hit 4 times and it takes it down to 3

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1332936#Comment_1332936

I really don't get why we need or want a hardmode perk.

Not healing isn't something you need a perk for. If you want a self imposed challenge around it then just refuse to let anyone heal you.

Heck if you don't like the starting healthy part, then if the Killer hits you just let him get the 2nd hit.

So it really doesn't allow you to preform any challenge that you can't already do with self imposed rules on a basekit Survivor. Thus we may as well treat it like it's an actual perk that's supposed to provide a tangible benefit at some point.

This, it is a hard mode perk but it’s hard mode for your entire team. Yes you draw attention, for one hit! Then the rest of the team has to give up what they’re doing to unhook you. At its most basic the killer had to get 12 hooks to kill everyone, that’s 24 M1 hits. As no Mither you take away 3 of those hits, meaning you make the killers job 12% easier. That isn’t hard mode for you it’s the whole team

  • @EvilJoshy said:

I'm pretty sure it is banable cause your screwing over your team. If you quit every single time you face a killer you don't like how will you improve?

Answer. You won't and trust me. You will be quitting a lot at higher ranks where spirit is common.

First, I disagree about spirit being common at red ranks. I play for a few hours and see her maybe once a day and usually not even that. Red ranks eastern USA pc if it matters.

Even watching streamers from other regions I don’t see them playing as or against spirit more than any other killer.

Second it’s most certainly not bannable like I said above how do you prove someone did it on purpose and isn’t just cocky and bad.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

I used to be a self care gamer. But with the increase in sloppy butcher users, plus better perk options available for me to use, I stopped using it. I also run Bond, so if my med kit runs out I can usually find a team mate to heal me up.

Sloppy butcher definitely throws it out of whack, but even with Bond it’s gonna take you a few seconds to find a teammate and make it to them. Then you both spend 16 second standing there which is 32+ seconds of time spent between the two of you that could’ve been used on gens. Or you self care for 32 seconds and they stay on the gen.

  • @emptyCups said:

Lol and people wonder why kill rates are high

Yep, people fail to take into account that 1 person killing themselves on first hook doesn’t just mean 1 kill... it also means the game had just become infinitely harder as a 3 vs 1

I’m not a great killer but You could put me against 3 really good SWF and I could beat them just based on the fact that once you get one hook it becomes a cycle one being hooked, one saving and one being chased that leaves almost no time for gens

You say it: the Mori indeed reduces the difficulty of the objective of the killer. The key too.

Surviving by hiding all the time that 3 other survivors die (so the killer is far from being to complain) is far from doing absolutely nothing. I invite you to try. Camping and tunneling are legitimate strategies, even with a Mori, not taking a risk by having a key in order to escape by the hatch is just as legitimate.

Yes, the key is an advantage. Here, it allows a single survivor to escape, if he survives the longest and finds the hatch. It doesn't seem so unfair to me knowing that the killer has already killed 3 other survivors. Why would the killer necessarily deserve 4k if the 3 other survivors have already been killed? Do all the survivors necessarily deserve to escape if they have repaired 5 generators?

The Mori is useful against any survivor, all the time, allows a huge snowball unlike a key, is invisible in the lobby unlike a key. And unlike Mori, a key can be lost because of a perk that the killer can choose to use specifically if he sees a key...

For me, it's incomparable, and certainly not in favor of the key.

But it’s not useable “at anytime,” it’s only after you’ve downed someone at least twice. Keys are similar in that they can start being used once a few gens are done if a couple people died already.

I just think this is something a lot of people will never agree on, but honestly I think both should be out of the game or changed drastically.

Mori should be changed to be useable instead of third hook, that way all it really impacts is maybe a very late DS or sabo squad.

Key should be changed so that it only works if all gens are done OR the killer has closed the hatch and then the survivor can re open it.

Would you find the experience fun if every time you played Jake the killer just sat in the basement until the match was over?

Most likely you won't get banned but you ruin everyones experience.

Both are slimy and ruin the game but most likely won’t be banned for. How do you really say someone “wasn’t trying?” If I run to the killer at the start and die I can just say I felt I wanted to get chased and practice looping.

If I stand afk while survivors do all 5 gens who’s to say I’m not trying to trap them with NOED, blood warden or rancor?

Again I think both are a waste of time but I don’t see how you prove anything to be banned for

The whole mori offering in DBD has always been and still continues to be one of the game's most annoying elements. It has no real reason to exist and adds nothing to the game other than giving killers a free victory every single game, minus the last survivor depending if they get the hatch. Why not just make Mori so that you can mori ppl on their last hook or just give all the killers Mori as passive so that they can mori the last survivor as a reward for 4k.

All killers should have something similar to Pyramid heads mini more if you ask me

  • @MegaWaffle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1332712#Comment_1332712

Exactly. Its the players experience and ability to determine the best course of action during a match that has lead self-care to get a bad rep not the perk itself.

The funny thing is other perks are used just as poorly and waste just as much time but no one is judge for using them. Two examples are Sprint Burst and Head on, now to start I think Sprint Burst is amazing and head on is fun and sometimes strong, but again their real usefulness is dependent on who and how they are used.

Ive seen survivors literally walk EVERYWHERE so sprint burst is available, these guys waste more time walking to a gen than self care does.

People will jump on and out of lockers for 90% of the game and never actually hit the killer with head on. These people waste literally minutes inside of a locker instead of doing gens but Head on is “fun,” so it’s okay.

  • @MegaWaffle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/157543/please-stop-using-self-care

I often use self-care because I play solo and rarely can rely on my team. I know when to heal and when to just push on. The perk has saved me far more than hurt me.

The issue with self-care is that many new/inexperienced players think they need to be "healthy state" as much of the game as possible or lack the confidence/skill required to keep a chase while injured. For this reason the perk is given a bad rep despite it being an issue with the players understanding of the match, not the perk.

Yeah, used wisely self care is great and like you said as solo survivors we can’t rely on our teammates healing us when needed. Heck I can’t even rely on my team to unhook me some games.

Ive had players with we’ll make it unhook me and then run off... I’ve had players ignore healing me to loot a chest 2 meters away... I’ve helped double heal 2 other players and then watch them run off without healing me even though the killer wasn’t around... the point is if people feel more comfortable playing at full health who are you to tell them no? And if they want to be at full health and are solo they have to bring self care or a medkit, or being inner strength and hope to find totems

I'm pretty sure maps aren't secret offerings. The only secret offerings I can remember are shrouds and moris. Other than secret offerings and bloodpoint offerings there's all the different kinds of map offerings, chalk offerings, salt offerings, coin offerings, reagent offerings, oak offerings, and ward offerings.

I forgot about the luck, chests, etc I guess I never use those unless it’s for a rift challenge or meme build. I still think you go all in and just make everything secret.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

No its not bannable at all.

Most things in this game people report or claim to report others for isn’t bannable but sadly thy do it, I can’t imagine reading all the tickets they get lol.

That said though, it’s screwing your team over. It would be like going to play a pickup game of basketball and they after 2 points saying, “sorry that guy on the other team shoots too well it’s unfun, I quit.”

  • @Deadeye said:

Selfcare is not that bad. It is bad when people die on hook while someone selfcares, sure. But That's not the perk, that's the survivor. That survivor could also just say "nah, I'm injured, can't go for the save. I'll hide until someone heals me". Same result, maybe even worse because the survivor won't be helpful for an even longer time.

Thing is, if you are healed up, you are not "exposed" anymore. If you can extend the chase with that extra hit, it gives other survivors extra time on gens. Yeah, some people say, it HAS to extend the chase 32 seconds because you wasted that time on healing. Actually 11 seconds is enough because 3 people could work on gens in that time, meaning 33 seconds gen progress. And there was a video for comparing clown gas differences. Without any perks or powers or addons to end the chase quicker or close distance faster, you need 26 seconds to catch up to a survivor you hit, if the survivor just runs in a straight line. I'd say that's worth it. It is just not worth it if you run against killers like Legion for example, that can easily keep multiple survivors injured. Because then you never get out of the healing mode.

Btw, one survivor healing himself with Selfcare takes 32 seconds. One survivor healing another survivor takes 16 seconds, while 2 people are busy with it. 16*2 = 32. Same amount of "lost" time. When you go to someone on a gen and let him heal you, it would be actually more efficient to use selfcare, because when you join him, you both get slowdown on the gen. Better let yourself don't do the gen for 32 seconds while the other one can work with 100% efficiency, than having 0% efficiency for 16 seconds and then 170% . You get less progress after 32 seconds.

The only really valuable thing over Selfcare is, when you team up to heal. 2 people healing someone takes 8 seconds, times 3 for 3 people being busy is 24 seconds.

I try to explain the math to people All... the... time, so thank you for going in depth.

Self care itself isn’t bad it’s just gotten a bad reputation because of some blendettes who hide in corners and self care against legion 10 times a game.

    My idea for this is.

Everything invisible, except Bloodpoints that affect all players (survivors and killers), so things like BPS and Those Gruesome Cake thingies.

Also Event Offerings should be visible to see how many were dropped.

This would be a great solution, one more thjng I MAY suggest is to always make it looks like everyone used an offering. That way even if the killer doesn’t bring anything the survivors still have a little mori fear and even if the survivors don’t bring any the killer isn’t sure if Haddonfield was just bad luck or someone brought it in because they are planning balanced landing

Yeah IF you were new, which you are certainly not...

Why are you complaining as if you are though? Hmmm...

This is why I don’t get tok upset by matchmaking anymore. Half of the red rank survivors you see aren’t really that good they would be more like green or yellow rank if the system worked right. Secondly, a good portion of low rank players have depipped/smurfed for easier games. After I took a 5 month break I came back really low and absolutely wrecked a SWF green rank team. Post game chat they mentioned how I must have smurfed to be that low because I played against the killers they normally got when they were red and that’s why they depipped to get better games...

And I will agree in that same situation. As a killer when I see a key is in a game. I have two options Franklin demise or prevent x amount of generators from being done.

I PERSONALLY do not have a problem with Moris or Keys. And I don't if either got nerf.

    @Chatkovski said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1332426#Comment_1332426

I can't believe you are serious in saying this, especially when everyone knows that in a chase situation, the killer always ends up catching the survivor, unless the killer decides to abandon the chase because he believes that it is too long. Add to that the pseudo-legitimate strategies, and the use of Mori is guaranteed.

Next time I read a killer complaining about the keys, I would tell him: just prevent the generators from being repaired, the survivors can only die. I see lots of killers preventing any generator from being repaired.

Here’s the difference, a killer has to down a survivor twice to use a mori agajnst then, correct?

How many gens does a team of survivors have to do to use a key? ZERO. A survivor could literally crouch and hide in lockers for 10 minutes while the rest of their teams dies, the killer could close the hatch, and the survivor could use the key. Aside from crows drawing attention, a survivor could quite literally stand in one spot not moving until the hatch spawned and still use a key. You’re telling me a killer can AFK for 10 minutes and still mori someone?

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

This is the lesser of two evils because to make a yellow ranked killer wait for yellow ranked survivors (which doesn’t really exist) means an extensive extensive queue time. So it’s either play against the survivors closest to your rank (potentially purples or higher) or wait over twenty minutes until four solo yellows eventually become available.

The people complaining about this probably never experienced the long killer queue times from about a year ago or just didn’t know this was the best (and most correct) fix available.

Opinions and preferences differ on this. Some killers would rather wait 15-20 minutes to play against yellow survivors they have a “fair game,” against rather than get a game instantly but have zero fun in said game

standing still is a mindgame...how exactly?

every other killer can fake their power or hide their red light, spirit can hid her red light sure but standing still doesn't classify as a mindgame, it classifies as standing perfectly still, not even using M2 to make you think she's phasing just standing still

So if I hold m2 for half a second to start the phase then it becomes a mind game? Because that’s literally what billy, huntress, slinger, Doctor and others do.

  • @Dehitay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1332518#Comment_1332518

Personally, I think bloodpoint offerings in general are ok to make public since they don't affect gameplay at all.

The problem is if you see any offering and it isn’t blood points there aren’t many other things besides maps and moris for killers or the shroud which was secret anyways.

    @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

It should be all or none. Except with party streamers like dehitay said

Maybe just BPS although I would prefer all secret for uniformity

  • Moris can be countered as someone said above dont get caught twice. how can keys be countered pray tell? Please don’t say Franklin s because you shouldn’t need to bring a perk just for that, and they can still pick it up.

If killers are going to lobby dodge, why wouldn't survivors mori dodge?

If it’s fair it’s fair, I don’t agree with either by the way. As killer if people key the hatch then it’s fine and as survivor of a killer moris me It’s fine. Next game is just a click away in either case. Just saying you can’t be for one but not the either.

  • @Dpooly said:

Urban Evasion and Fixated help me alot against her, just manipulate paths and sneak around when she's phasing...usually run Spine Chill and Inner Stength along with as my main build. I guess I might be crazy, but I actually have fun messing with them...boop that booty😉

Yep, there is a great feeling when you lose a Spirit or a Nurse. I have played as spirit quite a bit so I think that helps knowing what you would do as a killer when you phase. I’m not saying everyone, but I think a lot of people who say their is no mind game have never played as spirit. If they did they would see it’s not all EZ 4K like they claim, and it would give them a better idea how to play against her too.

  • @DragonMasterDarren said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/158851/is-it-bannable-for-me-to-throw-every-match-i-play-against-spirit

on one hand, I understand because spirit is annoying to fight against (anyone who says she has mindgames doesn't understand what a mindgame is) on the other, kind of a jerk move since you're with 3 other people

Not saying she isn’t frustrating but her standing at a pallet is the very definition of a mindgame.

  • @I_Teabag_Gate said:

Why should a survivor stay when the killer put on an offering that

Just don’t be super obvious and I think everyone agrees it’s not bannable. Stay in a gen even as you hear her coming, maybe she’ll grab and hook you. Then try to escape 3 times and don’t struggle in second stage.

That being side WHY don’t you find it fun? Is it because she doesn’t obey the typical looping rules? If so I suggest practicing as BHVR seems to be set on releasing killers than can change the looping strategy a little bit I mean Slinger and Pyramid both have loop counters

So, after a few Survivor matches i thought i would take GhostFace into a match..

To see if i would get the new level with him and see how i did on it.

MAtch went fine, all ok. no problems..

I did this a couple of times, (not on new level, got other maps) then went back to Survivor, and all was fine..

Earlier i took GF back in and had two DC's as soon as i got a first hit on them..

At the end the chat lit up.. saying i shouldnt have took GF into the match.. and that they DC'd because it wasnt pyramid head..

I HONESTLY thought the two red ranks were sour because i took them out, (im only rank 18 on PC as i dont play killer much) but they said they only wanted Pyramid head.. so i said if thats what they really want. to play as him themselves...

WHO was i n the wrong here? Was i wrong to take a killer already released to a match on PTB??

Are their specific rules saying NOT to take other killers in??

I recorded the match .. not that ill use it in a clip though..

But i want to know was i REALLY wrong to take a GF in a PTB match?

Its not something i do really.. as its my first time on PTB.. and ive only been playing the PC version under 2 months..

Im normally on Nintendo Switch.. but the difference in EVERYTHING on PC version makes it better..

We dont have the chat on Switch' either.. so not something ive had before..

You didn’t do anything Wrong, but as others have said people are on the PTB to see the new killer or maybe try a killer who’s been patched in some way. Of course you can try any killer you want, especially if you have a build idea for one of the new perks.

However since the wait time for killer is usually horrendous on PTB and I know people DC a lot of it isn’t the new killer I won’t waste my own time queue if I’m not playing as Pyramid head

Oh yeah, it's defintiely a good perk in general, though I prefer Whispers. Good survivors will realise that the killer is using Discordance and split up, which is why I rarely use it. It's good once or twice, but once good survivors realise you've got it, you've only encouraged survivors to split up and play optimally.

I agree, I’m actually trying to replace it with Whispers myself lol. But if you watch a lot of people play the thing they struggle with most is finding that first survivor and even if discordance only helps that one time at the start it can be worth it and save them time.

Also if you’re pairing it with BBQ then again that first chase can lead to a hook, bbq aura, chase, repeat. In lower ranks that’s gonna be enough for most

  • @Orion said:

I've been here long enough to know that's not the case. No matter what BHVR does, people will complain and say they're being dishonest, or that they're terrible devs, or that they're greedy, no matter how thin (or non-existent) the evidence is.

Too many updates? Complain that they can't play the game and have to wait a few minutes for the updates to download. Too few updates? Complain that bugs take too long to fix.

Say that they're working on thing A and taking approach X? Complain that the approach is bad and that they're stupid and/or greedy. Say they decided to switch to approach Y (as is normal in every single project ever made since the dawn of time, because sometimes you find that approach X is unworkable or that Y is better)? Accuse them of being liars and/or greedy (see this very thread) because approach X was what they originally said.

I didn't say anyone who said something negative was whining for the sake of whining. I'd ask that you refrain from putting words in my mouth in the future.

This guy gets it! In an ideal world BHVR could say, we will release exactly 1 killer, map and survivor every 90 days. They will cost 4.99 forever and we will also release 1 outfit for each character each year.

But things happen, anyone who’s owned a business or even worked on a project for their job know things never work out like planned.

Thank you for the advice, I'm sorry that you know that first hand too.

I really do appreciate the thought, but there's a difference between a company saying something to a large group and making plans to go somewhere with a friend.

And again, I don't think this "hardcore lie" is that big of an issue. Just that it's troubling because they could have done what they said or not said anything.

You’re right to be upset, but this kind of thing puts all companies in a tough spot not just BHVR. They can tell you their plans and ideas, but then if anything ever changes you can bet people in this day and age will dig out a photo of them “lying.” Or they can just keep their plans to themselves and consumers get mad there is “no communication.”

  • @CakeDuty said:

I've seen so many people with Discordance lately (probably because of the channel) so I actively try to avoid working on gens with other survivors to the point if I see someone coming to me I'll go hunting for another generator.

Though I agree on your statement that multiple people working on a gen is not a problem, the problem is people splitting up and working on different generators.

I think Discordance is popular lately because people have seen it as an “easy,” tracking perk. Arguably Whispers is better to find people throughout the game but it requires so practice to use well. Meanwhile Discordance can literally light up three seconds into a match and tell you where 2+ survivors are.

Im not saying it’s bad, or insulting anyone who uses it because I use it on a lot of killers myself. Just giving my opinion on why it’s a good go to perk.

I agree, but it’s definitely most viable against Legion as it’s a direct counter to their power.

For sure, I run discordance on them and nothing worse than the match starting and it NOT going off. It means I’m probably getting one survivor at a time unless two are on separate gens that happen to be close to each other

spending some bucks on a game i can play for thousands of hours is perfectly fine for me

you can get everything for free, except for the licenced charakters and some skin,, seems to be a fair monetisation for me

Agreed, also to the OP they didn’t necessarily lie if that was their initial intention. Companies change their kind and business model all the time doesn’t mean they lied, thats probably what they originally intended.

Anyways to each his own but why do people need 5-6 outfits for each killer, I’m sure by now they all have 1 you like just get that and be done.

Also as a killer cosmetics are only for the survivor to see which is odd, all I get to see from my favorite killer outfits is the weapon

How are builds like this allowed? They're borderline invincible to kill. I've fought toxic teams but this is one of the worst I've encountered in red ranks. When killer mains say survivors are op and the games survivor sided these are the builds they're talking about.

This isnt my "strongest build at all" you just patato against ghostface. If this was my strongest build I would bring bbq, pop, noed, thrilling, with an ebony and insta stalk add ons. I dont play red rank to sweat unlike these survivors who decided to comprise a load out of get out of jail free cards.

Not sure if it’s irony or hypocrisy, even if this isn’t your “best build,” it’s still pretty sweaty brining NOED and mori. And again the survivors could say the same thing, if they wanted to try hard there are definitely better perks combos. Plus only two of them brought an item and no one used a map.

If this is going to tilt you enough to make a forum post you are in for a big surprise when you face the sweaty SWFs

  • @TheLastGreatStar said:

In all seriousness though, you’re playing as Legion. Splitting up is the best strategy whilst going against them. Doesn’t help that one of their perks is Discordance, so I’m always wary of that.

3 people sitting on different gens is insanely OP and almost impossible to stop. They all had sprint burst, gens were far apart, my frenzy can't reach all of them and they got the last 2 gens done no matter what I did.

If I chase one of them, the other 2 can do the gens, get the adrenaline and rescue the teammate easily.

Multiple people on gens isn't the problem, it's survivors splitting up and pressuring gens. You can split into 3 or 4 and stop all of them, its just crazy.

Not just legion, against all killers splitting up is best. Ideally 3 survivors would finish 3 gens whole the fourth gets chased initially. Stacking on a gen makes it take a few seconds longer, and more importantly when the killer shows up that’s two people that have to get off the gen at least temporarily

  • @WheresTheGate said:

Not being in a chase in the first place. I'm still doing generators, healing people, and performing safe hook removals, but I'm trying to do it without being chased. Obviously anytime you escape as a survivor you have won, but I consider escaping without having been in a chase a better win. I just get some sort of satisfaction out of not being seen by the killer

Probably because that’s what we would do in real life!!! Not attract the killer with a flashlight and run around a truck 5 times

I don't "main". I find it incredibly boring to play 1 character all the time. I have the cast, I play the cast. Right now I am levelling Huntress, Oni, Ghostface, Plague, Legion, Demogorgon, Myers, Deathslinger, Hag, Billy, Trapper, Pig, Kate, Yui, and Dwight, and I refuse to grind BP because it's ######### awful and makes me want to scrape my brain out through my ears to stop the pain. It is a serious issue that long time players don't have to deal with, though I would like to point out that I wouldn't exactly consider a year to be a short time.

And to be honest, I doubt the prestige rewards will be that great, because if they are it's a giant slap to the people that didn't want to waste time prestiging. Sure, it's nice for completionist to have more than a bloody outfit, but if prestiging changes anything about the game other than cosmetics or BP gain they are going to lose a huge chunk of their playerbase who just got disadvantaged because they didn't grind and are now forced to to remain "competitive". For example, right now prestiging (incorrectly) states that you get better bloodwebs. If they change that statement to be true, and double the rates/ultra-rares, that's most of the playerbase they just screwed over, because suddenly completionist and long-time players are being rewarded for what was initially a personal goal, while "recent" players that don't have several hours a day for DBD are being essentially cut off and having all of their previous grinding made redundant. Not cool.

I don’t think it’ll be any in game advantage, if it is you’re right people will be upset enough to leave.

Right? I mean, any hex that the killer bring is a ######### gamble 'cause today doing bones is the easiest thing in a match.

It’s like a broken record but the message will never get through. Do totems when you see them, don’t wait til end game when you first see that hex notification pop up it may be too late.

I see survivors run past A totem to loot a chest, basically Close to the same time commitment and I know a medkit would be neat, but that totem should be higher priority. If you ignore totems you don’t get to complain about NOED.

If my team is well ahead of pace, meaning like 3-4 gens done and no one even hooked yet then I ignore gens and go totem hunting

Because solo survivors must run Kindred, Detective’s Hunch, and use a map, for information SWF get for free and don’t need to sacrifice anything for.

Instead how about we give solo survivors this counter than buff totems, either their spawn locations, time to cleanse, numbers on maps, etc. Buffing swf in no meaningful way, giving solo survivors a lovely QoL change, and then we buff killers. Basically everyone is happy.

I agree that a few buffs to solo wouldn’t make SWF and stronger and would close the gap. Then they could buff killers a bit to compensate.

Meanwhile I do run Kindred and detective every game and if I lose to NOED I have no right to complaint

With how bad match making is atm I really can't blame anyone for bringing it so they can stand a chance if they are mismatched well above what they could realistically play against.

This, I’ve been NOED face camped by killers who literally got zero hooks all game prior to NOED... then I see matchmaking is all rank 1 and 2 vs a rank 15 killer and I say “gg all, sorry killer matchmaking is messed up.”

1 full gen chase is enough for me...

But winning a chase? escaping or a 3 gen chase (this one is pretty rare, the killer i face are not braindead tunneler that get mad only cause I throw them 1 pallet)

    @xenotimebong said:

The killer choosing to leave me is the best kind of win. I still consider it a win if I go down but bought my team plenty of time to do gens/unhooks/gates/whatever, though.

I’m glad I’m not alone, if it’s mid game and the whole team is injured/hooked and my chase gives them time to rescue and all get healed up I feel great. I’ve had late game chases too where a killer tunnel visions me to an empty corner of the map giving the other 3 time to open the door and get out, even though I get sacced I consider it a win

  • @Jukenobi said:

My favorite "Wins" is when a killer literally gives up chasing me and leaves to find someone else.

Man, I’ve had literally only a couple of those chases ever but yeah it’s nice

Do a last-second switch from Doctor to something else and you guarantee they play with a useless perk. They might even DC.

Pretty much only play Doc for dailies but I may do a last second switch anyways just in case. I mean there are certain killers Object of obsession is borderline broken against, spine chill vs wraith, etc so I may just let these program users think one thing til the last moment. Thank you!

Because people want to use the dreams snares( best power of freddy) so they waste one add-on slot. And reducing the slowdown add-ons means that forever Freddy gets nerfed and these are the biggest complains.

You dont want to nerf a killer way harder than this immidiately. If he is still powerfull then go further nerfing him.

They nerfed them from like 6% to 2-3% forever freddy hasn’t been around well forever

I've been in the situation many times as survivor and killer where you both wait at Hatch and always, unless the survivor can body block the 'close hatch' prompt from appearing for the killer, the killer always closes it as priority. But lately, since the update, the survivors have been able to jump in for free. The closing/stomp animation literally gets cancelled midway through it. Is this a bug or intentional? Because if the latter is the case, you need to give the grab back. Because otherwise survivors don't need to use their brains and be smart about escaping. And most likely, more killers will slug for the 4k, even more than usual, which will be absolutely crap to see. I'm just ranting now, but seriously, this needs addressing.

I spam the button and I haven’t lost to the survivor yet, honestly though if I did I wouldn’t be too bent I mean the game is over it’s a difference of a few BPs

  • @Theetis said:

I don't see anything wrong with the matchmaking in the scenario you're presenting though. Red and purple ranks represent basically the exact same "skill level".

This, within 6 ranks is fine as they announced. It’s when you get ranks 1-2 against a rank 15 that the problems arise.

Like someone above said, the range of red rank survivors is so wide now they may as well have been purples

  • Wow I wondered why the rare times I play Doc at least 2 survivors seem to have calm spirit, and that hadn’t been common since the first week after his buffs.

  • I dislike NOED so much, 3 of my 4 games today we were against a bad killer who couldn’t chase but he got multiple kills from noed... you know what it’s OUR FAULT. When you’re that far ahead on gens to hook ratio (if that makes sense) it’s time to check for totems. On top of that I run Detectives hunch 99% of the time but I had to swap it for Boil over for the rift.

If, if, if NOED needs a nerf at all the only thing that needs done is giving survivors a totem counter.

1 … 16 17 18 19 20 … 62
