And credit where it's due, Dandy was a great antagonist that season.
Dandy was actually terrifying, his actor is amazing! The shift from Dandy to Hotel was brilliant.

Yeah, there are definitely some interesting maps and characters they could draw on from it. Even the fairly bad seasons like Asylum and Freakshow had some potentially good settings and characters.
I'd love to go around a freak show styled map

It’s actually one of the best survivor perks IMO. Especially during chases. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lost a killer by being able to crawl off whilst injured. It’s so funny watching them running around a loop trying to work out where I’ve gone.
When it’s used correctly, it’s extremely effective.
I'm probably one of those killers, I've lost so many survivors during chases to find out they used UE in the end game and I say, good plan. It lost me, got them an escape and the hatch most of the time.

Yeah I know exactly what you’re talking about, and it’s highly concerning and creepy.
It's huge in horror and crime communities. It's very sickening, I play this game to enjoy it not think of the characters in sexual ways, same with slasher movies, I don't wanna see fan art of Jason with nothing on.

Bad cosmetics
Poor event implementation
Lore has always been meh for most players. I want lore to expand the universe, see what happened to vigo, how does the entity work. Not to know what hill billy did in his free time.
When I saw the tome I thought we'd learn more about Vigo etc, I hope one day we do.

Well, I'm up for killers trying to play survivor for a change. You should play both sides anyway to feel the whole experience.
Playing both sides has helped me a lot, when I started I played strictly killer, but now I can improve skills on both sides. I find that I can chase better as killer and as survivor, I am more vigilant.
-
Flashlights are rare for me to get so I hoard those.
-
Survivor 5/10 like you, I mess up a lot trying to be the hero and unhook people as quick as possible because I know how it feels dying on first hook because people won't help.
Killer 7/10 I'm better at killer because I played longer hours as this role and I have good builds on or experiment until I find a build that works for me.

The ultimate example of a perk like that is iron maiden. You will only have like one person trigger it, as once survivors realize you have it, they will never go into a locker again. Overall, I think perks like that are great, but tend to be overshadowed by more meta perks. But when you get the right build for those perks, you can absolutely destroy the survivors.
That's what I've learned in my almost year of playing, I used to throw any old perks together, but now I actually read through them and think about making builds.
-
I'm awful, but somehow I can always tell if a survivor is up my backside and turning with me to try and act smart.
-
Once and only once, when crossplay just started and a fellow survivor ended up floating around the map...it was interesting.

I generally don't want to be teamed with a SWF either, because most of the time I find I'm treated like a "Red Shirt" in the classic Star Trek context of the word. I find I get better backup from other Solo Survivors than I do the SWF I've been stuck with.
I'd definitely rather be with other solo survivors, I find them more helpful on gens or some of them have even kept watch for me while I do totems. Any time I get into a match with SWF I get left to do everything myself because they're either all helping each other and ignoring me or trying to annoy the killer.
-
Playing both sides helps with perks etc for me. Thanks to NOED I use detectives hunch to find totems and cleanse them just in case there's a NOED, if I have NOED on a killer and it doesn't activate at end game I actually get happy because that means I've got them doing totems and they get extra BP.

So just more jump scares? That gets old really fast
I honestly think jumpscares are cheap, that's why I don't like games like fnaf. Until Dawn was good but they built up suspense, although if I replayed it knowing where the scares are now I wouldn't get the same effect.

Here is the thing, you need to toss out that book, you know... the Survivor's Rules for Killers. Who put these silly notions of what is "clean" and what isn't in your head. The only thing you have to do to play in a sportsmanlike way is:
- Don't cheat, either by hacks or lag spikes.
- Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
That's it. When you are in a match you play hard, give 100%. If that means you sometimes have to camp, tunnel, slug, or Mori... you do so. There is nothing "dirty" about those tactics. They are all valid and have been given a clean bill of health by the DEV countless times. What I would say is that they are niche tactics, and when used wrong will hurt you more than help you. When used correctly and in balance with proper Gen-Pressure, herding, and hooking in the right places, will win you games.
So yes, you are correct, playing the game wearing ankle weights and with your hands tied behind your back will get you nowhere.
Every time I see your name in a thread I just know it's going to be something sensible that I agree with. I try to make games fun for everyone, as well as myself but I definitely don't follow a rule book.

Sucks i thought i had some free shirts and now there gonna take em away next patch.
How many things can you guys mess up with each patch?
Im use to the normal 15 20 new bugs that come out every patch but how in tf did everybody get free cosmetics?
What kinda updating are yall doing that gives away cosmetics only for yall to be like use em for a bit but then were taking them back.
Dbd and the devs are starting to become more and more of a joke everyday.
I once spent all my time playing dbd, now i get on for a game or 2 then get back on r6. Dbd is losing its appeal fast and the devs breaking the game every patch along with reworks that arent wanted or needed and then throw in the fact that yall want 10 bucks every 3 months just to keep up to date with the latest perks and killers is a joke.
I have way to much money in this game for it to be as crappy as it is.
Not that any one cares but eventually the player base is going to continue to shrink 1 by 1 untill dbd is just another title forgotten in the game library.
I only jumped on to get my rewards for the Halloween event, I was back on F13 but that's gonna be gone and only allowing peer to peer play and I only play the game with my uncle so that's pointless.

Can people please stop using the Trapper Clone argument, I have looked for hours and unless I'm wrong he only killed ONE person with a bear trap in all of the movies, and it was the 2009 reboot. Let's give him multiple weapons like what that other person was saying, let's make him grow more angry as the trial goes on (frick it, he's the killer version of the perk "Fire Up"), maybe make him turn to mist, idk but what I do know is he can be WAY MORE than a Trapper clone, and I mean
WAY
more than just a Trapper clone.
I keep seeing this argument and it really doesn't make sense, if anything trapper is a different version of Jason. Jason came first. Also that remake is ugh I didn't like it one bit.

As you can see on my comment above, I'm a real killer on this game.
The fastest the game goes the more joy I have. I play scummy for fun and I love being a god at the game.
Like it's an online game, that's how I enjoy my games, destroy other players is fun. It has always been.
Don't have rules set on videogames, they exist to cut your stress, not to increase it. Punish those that try to impose their nonsense "rules" to the rest. Thanks.
Right? Like it's nice you give hatches to the last person whatever, but I'm playing a killer and we all know Myers and bubba would never let anyone survive if they had the chance.
-
That's why I don't argue, almost got into an argument in another thread about an opinion I had so I just decided to nope out after explaining my opinion, what worries me more right now is the weirdly sexual comments in this community. Reminds me of Tumblr when the true crime community turned into people romanticising serial killers.

Hey if you wanna play those killers you can. You bought the game, play however you wanna play man.
This, just...this! I don't like playing against bubba or hillbilly because I can't stand the noises they make especially through a headset, but I'm not gonna judge someone if that's who they like to play. I'm not the only player, I'm not gonna DC or unalive on hooks (the only time I die first time on hook is if my team are miles away or they're ignoring me)
-
I was wondering what that announcement was for when I came onto the forms today, at first I thought I was being called out for the retail therapy I did to get new redbubble merch...
-
I'm sure if Wes Craven was still with us, he'd be all for old Freddy being in the game but licenses change when the creator dies sadly, although I'm not the biggest Freddy fan especially with the remake, I only play Quentin because I love his actor.
-
I don't give hatch to anyone if I can help it, they have to find it themselves I've hooked people right next to the hatch and closed it if they've been flashlight spamming me all match.
Don't go to the exit gates when they open as killer, just do other things and ignore the survivors that wanna BM and sometimes they end up caught.
As survivor, I don't spam with my flashlight because I know it's annoying, as soon as I get to the exit gates I leave because I am not risking it to try and be part of the team that's tbagging.
Run if I miss a skill check even if the killer is carrying someone to a hook.

You need to read the lore to understand the cutscene for Hag.
basically her Grandma has access to Voodoo magic, Litte schoolgirl Hag and her best friend don’t really believe in it but still try to use symbols to get lucky or something. Best friend dies and Hag realizes Voodoo is real and can be dangerous. Kinda? Don’t remember everything.
That makes sense, I've read the lore that's why I couldn't make the connection because it looked very modern whereas I always pictured hag coming from an ancient background.
-
I would like survivor to have something more than what's there, but I like getting my adept trophies.

I think you'll be safe from a ban on the game, don't worry about that because you didn't do anything wrong, you didn't do the hacking.

I mean, there's also the fact that I despise Hag and her playstyle, so I didn't really complete her challenges unless they were easy. So I don't really know her lore too well, I'm sure it probably explained her archive entries.
I only play her for dailies then I nope off to my usual killers, I just feel like she's kinda boring to play.

Just FYI: never force someone to farm with you, that’s a bannable offense.
on topic: I don’t mind farming games since they are so rare nowadays that they are a welcome distraction. And there are days where I really just want my daily - escape as Laurie or open an exit gate - that just won’t happen and then a farming game might come as a blessing
Yeah, I got forced to farm before crossplay. I didn't enjoy it at all because there was no warning, killer just decided they wanted to farm and I didn't know what was going on! Until they messaged me to say thanks for farming with them.

I'll be completely honest, I don't get Hag's either. I think it's supposed to mean she always had ties to her powers, since her friend has that symbol in her hand?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't get it, I felt kinda dumb for not understanding because people in comments on the videos are like oh it's so easy to understand. I kinda got the symbol part but something seemed strange?

Played for a pretty long time, not very good (12) or competitive.
Seen lots of people complaining about teabagging and is calling someone trash. I wanted to offer a different view because with my friends it's totally different. We do it to mean hi, thanks for the heal, GG - anything but it's always a positive. Its pretty funny in such a serious game having a lil bounce.
People will argue about not liking perks, tactics like genrushing and killers v survivors but in reality we are all playing the same game and trying to have some fun. Sadly many killers have turned off messages so I don't get the chance to say GG (tried to message a dude who took out the whole squad in under 2 mins, that was impressive!) would be nice if our alternative meaning caught on and we tackled the toxic attitudes in our community with positivity.
So next time you see a tbag, may just be me saying hey, GG
Sometimes I feel like I'm being a D because I'll Tbag fellow survivors as a thanks for the save or thanks for healing me, although last night I played and the whole team done it as a way of being like hey I wanna tell you something so look here then point to either the killer or a gen or I'd point to a totem.

As far as I understand, the Archives are memories, from before they were taken by the Entity. The Entity feeds on the mind just as much as the body, but it doesn't need the memories.
So, all the cutscenes are just... Important memories. Spirit beating the everloving ######### out of some random bullies with all that Oni blood in her.
Claudette getting her first chemistry set.
The Blight being taken to be a killer.
Meg winning a race, hurting herself doing it
Doc torturing people because he's insane.
I got Docs because it was pretty spot on and Meg, but I think it's the hags that confused me most? It felt very modern if I'm thinking of the right one. Homophobes are playing the game as we speak. Confirming LGBT characters would just prompt them to out themselves (because they can't leave people alone), which would prompt them to be banned, which would reduce the number of homophobes in the game and make it better for everyone.
Adding/Confirming LGBT characters to a multiplayer game with proper moderation doesn't make it worse, that's just propaganda. Indeed, it makes it much better by banning a significant source of toxicity.
That's a good point, it would be nice to weed out homophobic players. I just feel like it would fit better in a story based game like Until Dawn was full of straight drama to me, I mean love the game it's great but I would have liked an LGBT couple in there somehow (even though I've heard theories that Josh is bi?) The last message I had on PS4 was full of homophobic slurs because I beat their team so weeding them out would be great, like I said to someone else I'd like it to be in the lore maybe like a survivor runs away from a homophobic family, starts a new life and the entity takes them for whatever reason. Stories in DbD don't interest me much but I can see why other people would be interested, I just play the game for the characters in my favourite franchises like Saw because Tapp is my man.

Eh in a hypothetical scenario where every Killer could interact with each other I would think of Trapper and Pig to be more of friends/two people who can talk about something they have in common (being traps in this case).
But ship whoever you want to really, at least distracts from the logical conclusion of most if not all the Killers would just act like feral cats and try to kill each other.
Can you imagine all the killers that would be friends with each other, like Myers and pyramid head just trying to communicate in some sort of hand signals because let's face it, they don't talk. Leather face and Billy screeching at each other and revving chainsaws. This is what happens when I don't sleep.

Totally valid opinion.
just interpreted it as you don’t want them to include LGBT+. If you really don’t care then that fine of course. It’s just the case that many that say they don’t care actually don’t want lore inclusion but are okay with heterosexual relationships mentioned in the lore.
Nah, I do love seeing my community represented in things but horror games like this is meh. Although, I do love the idea of Wraith being very camp thanks to Samnation.

Yes exactly, playing killer on DbD is like playing as a cod pro in a tournament. You have to sweat your ass off just to slightly do good.
That's actually why I've went back to playing F13 for now, I just wanna chill and play a game instead of feeling like I'm in a cod tournament. Plus, sometimes I like trolling the screaming kids when they think they can loop me as Jason and get throwing knives into them.

The thing is.. no one should ask for this. It’s either all sexualities should be included or all should be excluded.
and since heterosexuality was included for a long time even though it was stated they never wanted to include any mentioning of sexuality it should be natural to also include LGBT.
Escapism from real life but being okay with exclusion? You can even just ignore the lore in this game completely and it wouldn’t change your gaming experience, would it?
Honestly, I don't even pay attention to the stories from the tome I don't really understand the cut scenes at all and I've rewatched them so many times and I haven't seen anything to do with sexuality. I didn't say I'm okay with exclusion, I'm just not bothered with a characters sexuality in a game like dead by daylight where the story kinda comes last? Life is strange, dbh, the games that follow an actual storyline I get wanting representation in those because I was genuinely happy when dbh had a robot lesbian couple because it was sweet and fit with the story. Like maybe if the character had it in their lore that they had a horrible homophobic family and it turned them into a killer or a survivor who ran away from it, that would be interesting as lore, but like I said to me the story comes last in this game so LGBT or not, I don't mind I just like certain characters.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1725465#Comment_1725465
As an LGBT person, I disagree. There's no reason to exclude LGBT people when non-LGBT people are already in the game and have been in the game for years without anyone making a big deal out of it. I also don't see how excluding LGBT people serves as escapism, unless what you're trying to escape from is the existence of LGBT people, which seems weird for someone claiming to be LGBT.
Not escaping from LGBT people, I use games to escape life which is usually full of homophobic abuse for me living in a small town with small minded creeps. I'd rather not have it on a game like DbD I love games like life is strange, but they have a story. Games with a story yeah I love LGBT characters in those games, but to me dead by daylight is an online game with challenges to complete so I'm not really interested in a characters sexuality as a background. Don't get me wrong, the lore is cool and I'll look up a characters lore but that's it.
