Why do you have to bring sexualities and all this LGBT stuff into a video game like DbD? 😒 At least leave it out from here #########

As an LGBT person, I agree. Like I said in a previous comment here I used to be that LGBT person screaming for all things to have LGBT people in it, now I'm like eh. This is a game that I use to get away from life's bull that it likes to throw. Like gaming is my escape from stress and I don't care about a pixelated character liking someone or not.

That was me. I was ushering everyone to the cops and was being inspirational over the chat, I like to sort of get in character for Tommy, and before I got there someone ran me over and was like "######### YOU I WANNA LIVE!!!" I died laughing. I haven't played in a while, but I'd love to get back into it.

It has a magic Dead by Daylight does not. That's why when I see people take Friday seriously like the person I was debating with, I get confused. It lacks the competitive elements DBD has. I don't take playing Friday seriously at all. Not enough to throw a fit, unless someone's being a douchebag.

I think that day I ran over a Debbie oops, but I mean I was playing Chad and had to get into character. The game does have that magic that also makes it funny, it's a game I can chill on instead of feeling like I'm against sweaty players. The only thing I do on F13 to avoid being annoyed is muting people that scream or blast music through their headsets.

As much as it pains me to agree with him. He's kind of right. Friday the 13th: The Game is a far superior horror game. I'll go into greater detail why:

    1. You're given a reason to grind and level up because you earn new skins. Here, you're leveling up for what feels like the sake of it.
    2. Jason is played correctly is actually a menacing force and is given the tools to apply pressure. There's more objectives he has to tend to. The councilors are given more to do in the game.
    3. When Jason's in rage mode then you have wasted enough time for him to get to that state, your only option is to survive until time runs out. I've done this several times and made it out. The tension in this case feels authentic.
    4. Friday the 13th: The Game actually FEELs like a party game. I could share with you all of the hilarious experiences I had with the game. Dying isn't a big deal to me because it's part of the horror experience, you make it or you don't. Meanwhile DBD's mostly horror stories and it's not just me, the forum is filled with complaints all the damn time. DBD is a sports game with a horror skin slapped on. The community doesn't seem to get that.
    5. You are also given more tools to play with and you could do your own thing. You could be selfish and not be punished by the game. DBD's too restrictive on both sides. Jason is also given creative tools to work against councilors.
    6. Team kill really made things exciting because players robbed each other for opportunities to escape. If the community wasn't so damn toxic, Friday would have been even more interesting. It played on human nature like most survival games did. That's something no other online horror game has given us.
    7. There wasn't a way for Jason to camp. There were dynamic ways you could get pass Jason. If he guards the boat then everyone else could use the cops, outlast him, fix the cars, or even kill him. No loops or infinites.

Had it not been for the lawsuit, the developers' incompetence, and the entitled and cringy community Friday could have been something.

Not get punished for being selfish, tell that to my -1000 points because I betrayed a councillor...they totally ran in front of the car...it totally wasn't me trying to get the Chad is a D trophy. In all seriousness though, I've went back to F13 and I forgot how much I loved it, I used to hate how random it was but now it gives it something exciting.

  • If I can see a survivor in the distance I'll ready up the vom and if I can get them without them seeing me great, or I'll ready during a chase and get close enough to go for it.

Pennywise would be very difficult to licence unfortunately.

Candyman however...I think that deal is already done.

    Chucky - no idea

The Creeper - Creep aint getting my money! (we all know why)

Imhotep - The mummy, would open the dark universe franchise to them....might be hard

    The Thing - No idea

Alien - Dunno...seems TO lethal, but maybe

    Springtrap - Meh

Jason - I'd like him in game, but with the legal stuff and trapper....yeah

Pinhead - Yeah, seems reasonable enough

Creature from "A quiet place" might be interesting with no vision, but can see people if they move, perhaps breathing sounds are detectable to make it more fair for the killer. Objects and walls etc are hazy outlines

    Tipua - Shape shifter https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tipua#:~:text=In%20M%C4%81ori%20mythology%2C%20tipua%20or,as%20these%20types%20of%20spirits.&text=Some%20stone%20tipua%20were%20believed%20to%20wander%20from%20place%20to%20place.

The Nun, Graboid (lols) The blob, The fly, werewolf, vampire (please no),

Being a slasher fan and knowing way too much about legal issues thanks to film and TV in college it's very difficult. That's how I know Stephen King would be difficult to work with he's always like that with movie adaptations so the license will be incredibly difficult to get. I'd like Pinhead or Chucky, not a fnaf fan at all tbh so I wouldn't want it in the game but I see the appeal. I'd like to see Ma even though it's unpopular and Reddit kicked my behind for even mentioning that movie as an idea. I'm excited to see the teasers I think they should be out this month if I'm thinking right? I'll definitely be reacting to that on my YouTube and talking about theories with the teasers.

  • @Maperson said:

The only killers I really want to see are Chucky, Jason and Pennywise

Thing is, King is very very very picky when it comes to media taking his books and having it made into something. He'd be very heavily involved in that and if one thing was out of place he would easily take back the character. Jason is unfortunately under lock and key with his lawsuit because someone had to get greedy despite admitting that he has never seen a single F13 movie.

    Implement said system:

Man I don't like [Insert bad reason to disconnect], lemme just unplug this wire and... looks like my internet "accidentally" went down AGAIN for the 10th time today but luckily I'm not punished for it because I didn't purposely disconnect. :^)

Yeah no, if you're inappropriately disconnecting because of stupid things like it being a certain Killer/Map/Survivor/Item/Perk/Add On/Etc. Then you deserve that penalty, it was designed mainly for you.

Internet went out for the 3rd time today? Playing during a storm? Your pet chewed on a wire and it "sort of works"? Well you still deserve the penalty for not only ruining 4 other players match multiple times (intentional or not you Readying Up means you're saying you're okay to play a match) but also for not taking the first few penalties as a sign to STOP and go see whatever issue on your end is and fix it before continuing.

And in the more uncommon case of you encountering a gamebreaking bug/glitch enough to somehow rack up a big penalty and you 100% know it isn't on you're end, then why haven't you stopped and decided to report said issue and get assistance on the matter.

This is why I test my ps4 for its connection to the internet, I have 4 people in this house including me and everyone is online at the same time so I know it slows down. If it's slow I play something offline, it's not even hard to test internet connection to double check.

  • I don't like fnaf since it was always shoved in my face when it was out first time. Plus my nieces and nephews play it and it's like nah, I want the classics first. I've suggested Ma as a killer and got jumped on for that though.

  • I know he can make those "being toxic" videos, but he is fun and he's honest. Or Domplays he's amazing and makes me laugh hard especially because he knows he's bad at DbD and he admits it.

  • Demi, he's hilarious.

  • ToxicMyers, but they've been banned apparently.

  • Honestly? I used to rage hard and complain to my friends, now that I've started filming games for my YouTube, I can laugh at how bad I can be at this game. When I'm not filming games I laugh now because it's a game and I could win next one.

Number 5) happens to me a lot... especially if there's more then one of the same survivor being played with similar cosmetics equipped

5 for me too, I can't keep guessing who's who especially against 3/4 of the same character. Sometimes the person I've just hooked runs straight into me so am I supposed to not hit them?

  • @APoipleTurtle said:

I would imagine Ghost Face would be the biggest candidate simply because BHVR have the greatest freedom with him (being both licensed and original, as you said).

Otherwise I think characters with more vague history would be more likely than those who've already starred in like 5+ movies.

Demogorgon is probably the next most likely, as it barely actually appears in the show and we never got to know much about it (by extension, this could also involve Steve and/or Nancy). Though I have no idea how you'd write about this monster, I don't think giving it any kind of inner monologue would sound right.

Pig is probably another good choice. I've not seen all the SAW movies (just the first few), but we could probably explore more of Amanda's history before she was first placed in a "game" or get a side story of her acting as Jigsaw's apprentice.

If Konami allows it, I could even see Pyramid Head getting an Archive. He's pretty much an enigma, plus they could honestly just create the DbD-sparknotes version of SH2 and call it his "lore".

For survivors, I think Bill and Ash would be the most likely (besides characters associated with the aforementioned killers). Bill hasn't really had a major backstory ever (just the gruff Vietnam vet surviving the zombie apocalypse) and that could be created/explored. Ash is just Ash, that path could lead just about anywhere.

I don't think we'll be likely to see any of the big slasher film characters appearing in the archives, those seem to be the ones with the trickier licensing restrictions anyway.

As a Saw fanatic who always watches the movies, Amanda would be amazing.

  • Ma, I love that movie it's brilliant. Although people disagree with me because she apparently wouldn't fit which I get, but damn I'd love that.

Chucky, but we know his FOV would be awful and hard to manage but he's a classic as long as they did the original and not that remake.

  • Yeah, like completely stuck! If I wasn't so shocked I would have recorded it.

  • Can't remember the map I was on, but I broke a wall and got stuck there. Couldn't move at all.

  • The game is fun even without the DLCs, I got the base game for Christmas last year and I enjoyed it! I started getting the DCLs because I liked the characters they had. That's it, you can still play without these characters, if you want them then sure pay for them.

  • Both, but more killer than survivor. Only because I play at night and survivor cue for me is slower than anything during my nighttime.

  • Jill is like one of my biggest crushes so yes, as long as we don't end up with another disaster that looks like Quentin.

I’d love Jason in the game because he’s a horror icon, but how would he work? Considering Trapper is the low budget version, what could his ability be? Maybe some sort of teleportation and being able to throw knives? But that could be too similar to what his powers were in his own game.

That is a very good point, I feel like Jason having his own game with his own rules works better because he has multiple powers.

  • I was about to say the exact same thing, shame about the game because I was looking forward to Jason X even if the movie sucked.

I am a pig main and I do not play boop the snoot you will in fact get the blade. I actually rarely ever get anybody to try it though.

This is how I feel, although it rarely happens to me when I play pig thankfully. I wanna play the game, if I wanna meme I use ghost face.

  • @notlonely said:

As a Plague main myself I must say many people don't use basically because her power feels weird to use. There are so many things you can do with it:

    • You can use it in-chase to break survivors (my main playstyle).
    • You can try and get everyone sickened to get Corrupt more often (not viable in red ranks)
    • Or you could just mess around infecting everything to get info.

I don't always get many kills as her because her power isn't thAt helpful in chases but she's indeed effective.

I also think she's quite forgotten because people just buy her for the perks and then leave her, since both Corrupt and Infectious Fright are great perks, and you can also get value out of Dark Devotion depending on who you're using (tip: DD is awful on Plague you literally must be blind if you can't see her coming from a kilometer away lol).

Shoutout to your brother for being the literally other Plague main in this place we call a community. My sibling is unfortunately a Legion and Spirit main qwq.

He's a great player when he's plague, I've only ever went up against her once playing survivor. He spews on everything like you so that's how he plays and it works very well for him.

  • I haven't even attempted this yet, I'm still trying to get Productive Day and Deadly Deceit.

Honestly, the kid doesn't use specific builds, he always has spies from the shadows though.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

So looking at the stats of dbd they released there’s one killer no body ever talks about cause of how forgettable she was.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/V2O41M45P3QS/b44db5d2-355a-482e-8625-4616a9fc119f.png

If you guessed it, It’s the plague. How come she never gets talked about she’s the most forgotten killer in DBD everyone talks about everyone but her. And there’s a simple reason 1 she’s very weak cause her power is in survivors control and she’s not very strong. Tell me your thoughts on the plague.

My brother mains plague and he almost always gets 4k, I only play her if I get a daily.

  • Last week, I was play Doctor to get a daily and two people disconnected so I got the last part of my daily and let the other two players finish gens. We actually farmed for a bit when they realised what I was doing, probably the most fun in a while!

  • None tbh, I like them all. Reworks though, Quentin, they did my boy dirty.

  • I think the highest rank I got to was 10, then I took a few weeks off playing to focus on other games. I've been playing since December last year, but I admit that I suck bad at the game.

  • @FairP1ayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/201084/lobbies-crippled-by-disconnects

Do you remember who the killer was the majority of those games? I’ve been using the Blighted Doctor skin alot today and most of my games had a survivor or 2 DC as well.

I've noticed that when I play Doctor there's more disconnects than usual.

  • @Predator3174PL said:

Random pallet out of nowhere and random chase music in corn make me jump as a killer.

Haven't experienced any scare as a survivor yet

Wait until you're fixing a gen and another survivor comes to help you fix it and you think it's the killer. Done that one too many times.

  • @APoipleTurtle said:

I can't boil it down to a specific moment that I remember, but I do still quite enjoy the suspense of figuring out just which killer I'm playing against at the beginning of a match.

Like, will it be Myers/Wraith/Ghost Face sneaking up on me? Is Hillbilly, Spirit, or Nurse about to warp into proximity from out of nowhere? Do I hear a hum to imply that hatchets may start flying?

...Or is it obviously just Freddy ruining the surprise of this moment (since you immediately start falling asleep once the trial starts)?

My loading screen spoils that for me nowadays.

  • Yeah same here, I was gonna post the same thing.

  • Nah, I sacrifice everyone if I can. If someone gets the hatch that's ok them because I couldn't find it first.

  • I've had this happen once, but they didn't hide they just stood there. One person fixed one gen and I got a 4k, unfortunately that lead to me getting very salty messages this was before crossplay so it was only PS4 players. I now have messages to friends only.

  • @Cutiaddu said:

Jonathan would have been a better character than steve in dbd IMO.

The only issue is have with that is how he'd look, I mean look at Quentin!

  • This is my first Halloween event on the game, I got this game for Christmas with my ps4, I did however watch a lot of videos when the game came out because I almost bought it when I had my Xbox one. It looked great and when I started getting into slasher movies last year, it sold it for me. This game got me over my fear of horror movies, but I'm kinda disappointed with the lack of event considering Halloween is a huge thing in horror. I've been playing F13 a lot now even if it's dead and has kids over mics screaming at me. What I would love is for the game to work on my console though, I don't mind the daily login bonus because I can get a skin etc, but I want the game to work on my playstation.

Trapper was also against murder but changed his tune after being tortured by The Entity.

Also John could physically be able to do it in The Entity's reAlm cause it runs on different rules. Look at poor Spirit, shes not even all attached but can still use all her bits. 😱

I'm glad they went with Amanda, though. Also, my super-secret wish would be a Legendary Skin of Amanda as survivor! (Give it to Kate) 👻

Didn't trapper hurt people already though? I dunno, I definitely prefer Amanda although I wouldn't mind Hoffman since he's pretty cool in the movies, I personally think they wanted to avoid the Saw fans mentioning Kramer's thoughts on murder. I'm a die hard Saw fan so I feel like Amanda fits better.

A Ghostface managed to pull me off a gen while I had Spinechill equipped. He had to have moonwalked or aimed away from the gen while walking to it in order to do so because the second I see it flash, I get self conscious and sneak away. It never came one and he stopped my heart. I don’t know how I didn’t stain my undies at that moment.

A pallet stun out of nowhere is a close second. I’m just patrolling gens, minding my own business and bam! Meanie Survivor just whacks me on my head.

Pallet stuns out of nowhere make me scream, but depending on the killer the stun noise makes it worth it for the giggles.

  • @Emeal said:

Myers, im in a corner of the map doing a Gen, I see Spine chill go off, but dont see him in any corner.

He was behind me, and he bypassed the Spine chill too. I jumped like I never did.

This is why I went from being a pyramid head main to Myers main, I feel like you get better chases.

  • @Zeus said:

Scratch mirror myers is the scariest one for me. No cheap tricks. Just pure fear.

Honestly, it's terrifying to play against scratched mirror Myers as a survivor, but playing him as killer is amazing.

  • Kramer is against murdering straight up. That's why in the movies you can tell which traps are made by him and which are made by his apprentices. Amanda was the best choice since she straight up murders people.

  • I've had a few games like this recently, and most of the time they end up sacrificed because they didn't leave.

  • @cannonballB said:

She's an interesting killer. I don't find her fun to play but I think it's because I'm not into the ducking crouching killers as much.

Her power set is interesting. Also is the growl just to let you know someone is pouncing on you?

I think so, but also in the movies there's a growl during scenes where you see the pig kidnapping victims.

  • It's a slideshow simulator for me on PS4, nothing to do with my system since it's only 4 months old because I bought a new one so we could have the old one in my living room. I've actually went back to F13 which is completely dead and buggy, but it plays better than DbD right now.

  • I haven't tried to play since the Halloween event launched. I get the worst frame rate drops as killer, the hiccups are so bad that I miss survivors because I end up miles back somehow in a chase.

  • Welp...good thing I just got the game on Steam for my videos. I was looking forward to playing on my playstation tonight though.
