  • I loved it! The anticipation, I hated horrors when this game came out and played it on a bet that I wouldn't make it past the title screen. It was genuinely frightening, I ended up getting like halfway through it then just watched someone else play it because I got freaked. I think I'd honestly play it again now that I'm older and not as scared, but it's definitely worthy of the genre!

I would love to see Little Nightmares make its way into the game. It will absolutely never happen. We have a higher chance of Jason than Little Nightmares. But it's fun to think about what it would be like if it somehow made its way into the game. There are a lot of things that would make it not work though such as that game's art style being a tad bit cartoony for DBD.

There wouldn't a survivor as the only characters that would fit that bill, are children and we can't have kids in DBD for obvious reasons.

The killer on the other hand...well there's quite a lot to choose from, each are very unique. There is The Janitor with his short stubby legs but incredibly long arms which could reach long distances. Then there is the twin chefs who could make for interesting gameplay, playing as two killers at once. These I feel would be the best choice.

The map could be The Maw, a massive vessel travelling underwater where guests come to eat their lives away. It would be an indoor map of course but there is a lot of rooms such as the children's bedroom, the Janitor's preparation room, the kitchen, the dining area and the residence area.

Like I said though, it will absolutely never happen. But if it ever somehow did, I reckon it would be an incredible DLC.

Little nightmares was actually a great game, I really enjoyed it. I was expecting it to be another version of Little planet and I was pleasantly surprised.

Not really a franchise but a movie called Hush. It's about this deaf woman who has her house robbed and without spoiling anything she survives but barely. It'd make an alright chapter

Hush was an amazing movie, I loved how they did it! It was quite a unique movie.

  • I'm not the best at this game, I can admit that straight up. I love playing pig, I only get like 2k with her, but she's fun and Saw is my favourite franchise. I've played against 1 pig in the year I've played this game and they whooped my team good.

  • Nirvana, My Chemical Romance, Ice Nine Kills, Hawthorne Heights, Black Veil Brides... basically my emo playlist because I'm in my 20's and still won't get out of it.

  • Kinda the opposite for me, I was trying to film a video as Legion to make jokes about being an edgy teen in a bunny suit. Stupid me was rendering another video at the time which made OBS go very slow (I have a plug-in now for that to stop) but I think my lag was obvious to survivors, but I continued with playing. I had two survivors stand behind me and push against me, any time I tried to turn they'd turn with me, so I went to find the other 2 doing gens. They still psuhed against me and I actually said I wanted to DC, maybe it's a tactic that I haven't come across yet I dunno, they were ranks 8-3 and I'm 18 (I know ranks don't matter, but they have higher skill levels clearly).

  • Josh, he was interesting...messed up obviously, but interesting as a character. He definitely carried his past with him and held a grudge, can't blame the guy though he lost both sisters.

Ashley because I simp hard for her.

Mike, as much as I love Markiplier, he was so nasty about Mike for no reason. He did come across as a mean guy at the start, but he was actually a good guy.

I think for me the Blight was a letdown. I was so confused when he received critical acclaim for the community. His powers sucked. This killer was built for the better part of two years, I assumed he'd have bad ass plant like powers not take speed.

Honestly, I'm glad someone else said this. I felt like Blight was a slight let down, I was excited for the chapter then when it came out and I bought it, it was like meh. I have never faced a Blight before either, even when he came out. Plenty of Felix players though.

Ashley Simps unite. I'd want her in even if she didn't complete the A-Team (currently having Ace, Adam, and Ash Williams).

We simp for Ashley! I honestly think she was a great character in that game, I mean all of them were good in their own way (minus Emily).

I'm a dinosaur. I was here for the dawn of online pvp. While there's always been trolls, and at the risk of coming across as boomer, this is definitely a more modern thing. The old pvp crowd in the days of shadowbane, Ultima online, etc... They would do a lot of trash talking on the forums, they would go online and try their damndest to burn each other's cities to the ground, and then they'd go back on the forums to gloat a bit about it. 9 times out of 10, they'd also be in their opponents' TeamSpeak or private forums congratulating them on a hard fought battle, talking about what caught them by surprise, and how much fun they had, at the same time they were writing trash talking forum posts.

The crap we have today is a mix of bitter care bears upset at getting beat in a pvp game that 100% advertises itself as pvp, and petty, small-minded folks who cannot get off unless they are literally making someone miserable. The stuff you see thrown around in multi-player games today would've had you kicked out of your own gaming group in the early days, even the ones who nolifed pvp to the point of utterly eliminating all competition on their servers. Personal attacks were largely no-go, unless someone was just a flagrant ahole in public constantly.

Gaming has changed a lot over the last few decades, a lot of it for the better. Gamers have also changed a lot in the last few decades, and a lot of it for the worse.

Nah, me and you share the same views here. I mean sure, I got the whole "girls don't play video games!" When I was a kid, but it wasn't like it is now. I was a kid when Halo got popular and even then people laughed with each other over losing. Now, my fiancée can't play the likes of COD without some 12 year old screaming that he beat a girl in a game.

  • I love this! The art team did an amazing job!

  • But no cake, and we can't afford a good entertainer so you have a choice of a clown with a bad cough who eats fingers or an old guy in an ugly sweater that also coughs because he smokes all the time.

The problem is it wouldn't make sense. The predator doesn't hunt unarmed people, it wants people that will actually try to fight it. (Unless you look at that awful remake that thought that Austism was the next step in human evolution and the Predators were harvesting autism juice to make themselves more powerful)

My brother and I both have autism, that remake made us cringe like please no. Although if you ask my family they think it's amazing how they represented autism in the movie...my mum just liked the weird predator dog.

  • Frank as a bunny because I think it's hilarious to chase survivors as a huge pink bunny. Plus, the feet when you kick gens makes me giggle.

  • I made a video on theories if anyone's interested in checking it out. I don't watch Supernatural so that's why I didn't mention it in my video, I had no idea there was something like that in the show.

I want it to be Until Dawn just because I want Sam as a survivor, with a set of her in the towel running away from the killer and hitting them with a ######### baseball bat, or Emily because we stan, or any of them tbh. I don't care for the killer if it's Until Dawn, because all I really want is to be able to play as the Until Dawn cast in DBD.

So I'm not getting my hopes up but I sure know my wants.

And I see what you mean. I think that hair could do with a gradient to purple.

I don't mind some of the other brighter cosmetics for survivors, but Nea doesn't come across as a bright character? I'd like darker options for her, then again every time I see that skin I just think of Samination.

and as for nea, you mean the new one? i think there's in general something wonky with the colourvalues on headcosmetics atm (look at the ones that should have tinted glasses that suddenly don't, or kate's hair from the rift that should have a red to black gradient)

Omg that is amazing artwork right there, I'd buy that skin!

More like the older ones for Nea like this. I just feel like it doesn't work with her other looks.

    this.

Honestly. the devs should really start making themed packages (like, outfits fitting for the various maps for all characters) or something. That'd be nice.

Also, give us a non-bald hatless slinger head.

I would love some non bald Slinger! I just feel like Nea's bright blue hair outfits make her look...Ew?

  • Only small ones with TTV in their names, one time I actually did check out their stream while I played killer...they didn't like me.

  • Slinger, Plague, Oni, I'm gonna say this and people might disagree, but Legion. Other than the blighted outfit and the bunny suits they feel too similar.

Survivors; Ace, Zarina, I'm also gonna say Nea.

That's what their supposed to be documentaries about bad people who did bad stuff and I would rather it stay that way

Exactly! When the Bundy movie with Zac Efron came out, everyone swooned because hey it's Zac Efron and it lost focus on what he actually did. I've watched things like the diary of Jeffrey Dahmer and they interviewed people in his life, that was done right. Doing things like casting good looking actors as people that killed real people who have grieving families feels like a money grab. I'm glad BHVR are against this too.

I personally don't think there should be any real life serial killers in Dbd because that would just make the Murderer more popular and thus giving what them what they wanted in the first place. To be remembered (ironically Freddy's perk could be a great pun here) I don't think they want these said killers any more fame and think about the families who were victim of those murderers come across this game and be absolutely disgusted that the Devs would bring their nightmare back

I won't even lie here, it's the same with the movies they've made about Dahmer and Bundy with famous people that are considered good looking, docudramas are great when done right.

  • @Slendy4321 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/204568/people-who-ask-for-serial-killers-in-the-game

They said it themselves that they don't want to put the spotlight on REAL killers. I would imagine that it would be bad for their rep to be seen as putting real killers into their game

If I can remember right, there's been a few internet flash games with serial killers in them and they were not taken well. I think this is one thing in the video that people will agree with more than the other characters I'll be mentioning.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/204568/people-who-ask-for-serial-killers-in-the-game

Probably the ONLY one they could probably get away with including is Jack The Ripper, only because of how long ago that was, and all the myth and conjecture surrounding who that killer may have actually been.

But even then, it’s in poor taste. This game needs to keep clear of stepping over the line from fiction into fact.

You honestly don't know how happy I am that this thread is full of people who agree and are giving me amazing points that I have missed to mention while writing. I understand the Jack the ripper thing, maybe something inspired by that (I think there's a lot of characters inspired by all the myth about jack the ripper so that could be interesting) like I said to another person here, my channel is a mix of things including true crime videos and putting in the research is draining enough, I use gaming as my escape and I want real people left out.

  • @SoylentPixie said:

At the end of the day all you can do is try and be respectful of someones opinion, which is possible to do without compromising your own stance on things. For me, like i said, I do a lot of true crime research, and the mindest of these people are alien to me, hence the fascination, because deep down we all hope to find reason in what we consider complete madness. So i have a full scope of what these people have done and eventually came to the conclusion that time does not really change the horror of what was done, therefore I wouldn't enjoy seeing them marketed in a video game, because it stops being fun when you know how people suffered irl.

Now I highly doubt BHVR will ever cross this line, it has too many potential pitfalls. But if they ever did I would just walk away with no fanfare or rage. I can't change peoples minds on such a subject, but I wouldn't compromise my own stance for something as frivolous as a video game.

I would leave the game too. I also have an interest in true crime, in fact I do crime videos on my channel along with gaming and other things, but I seperate that, filming dbd videos is a chill thing that I can laugh at. When I sit down and research for crime videos I am mentally drained afterwards because my mind just can't comprehend that people do these things. The psychology draws me in but, when you really research and look into it, it's so... horrible?

I wasn't trying to blame you or anything like that, so I'm sorry if it came off that way. I just cannot... I don't know, accept that there are people that have such an extreme disconnect from reality.

Oh no, I got where you're coming from don't worry! I just wanna make it clear to anyone scrolling that I am not for it. It's just...weird, gaming for me is an escape from reality and crime is a major part of that reality.

  • @MadLordJack said:

That's a thing people have been asking for? So people really get so removed from reality that they cannot tell why what would be horrible? People can cite that it's a game about serial killers all they want, there's a difference between a fictional character that never harmed anyone and a ######### sick piece of ######### that cause so much hate and pain for the dual purpose of pleasure and fame.

This is the point I want to make in the video, as someone who's always had an interest in true crime I have seen many people turn it into a fetish, romanticise these people, it's the saviour complex. It's only a small amount of people that I've seen ask on this forum or mention it, but I've seen it a few times on Reddit and Tumblr. I don't want anything like this in the game, I'm just gathering information so I don't come across as someone who's assuming.

There have been posts here. They are pretty spaced out as majority opinion tends to be 'no thanks' but they do appear from time to time.

Personally it would be a final straw for me and i'd simply quietly uninstall. I get the appeal, i really do. I love true crime stories because the psychology always fascinated me, but i don't really have any desire to see them in the game. I wouldn't shout about it though, everyone has differing opinions and occasionally those who are for it, do come up with interesting and sometimes compelling points, it's just not for me and i'd be somewhat disappointed if the company stooped to this.

We are definitely on the same boat there, it would be my last straw if they decided to do that. I'm glad the people coming to this post don't want them in game so I can kind of put my point across better knowing people are agreeing that it's wrong.

I have seen it here a small handful of times, but they usually don't reply when someone asks why.

  • @HealsBadMan said:

I think its pretty tasteless to have real killers ingame, as it gives those killers more attention and (even though its a game about killing and torture) it lessens the severity of the real killers' actions. At best we should have killers who were influenced or based on IRL killers (EX: The Clown being based on John Wayne Gacy). At least that way, the IRL killer does not gain as much infamy/knowledge. The memory of IRL tragedies should be kept tragic, but by making them into entertainment we lessen the importance/horror of what they really did.

Totally agree, I in no way want this in the game, this video is about characters I don't want to see in game this time round anyway. I'll be doing another on characters I'd like to see eventually.

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

It's fairly distasteful. It's like wanting a recount of the toolbox murders.

Jack the Ripper sounds cartooney but it was a real life case of horrific mutilations.

I feel it's an attempt to defang the severity of psychopaths actually existing by trying to normalize it. Like werewolves and vampires turning into glitter queens. But what it's actually doing is glorifying it.

I agree completely, the video I'm making is about characters I don't want to see in the game, but I try to be respectful of opinions when I make these videos although with this it's very difficult not to tell those that have asked for them that they probably need help; I mean I did that in my Tumblr days with the true crime community.

  • @Talmeer said:

Were serial killers ever really wanted?

In all the years I watching those forums by now, I can't remember seeing much threads about them. Not even a handful in this time...

I personally would not like to see them. I sometimes like watching documentaries about them, but thats it. Wouldn't like to be one. Also I think that would give those more attention as they already have and that is imo not a good thing.

I've seen it mentioned before, it might have been on Reddit more than on the forums, although I've seen a few people on here mention the names of some serial killers. I stand with everyone who doesn't want them, but I also don't want to come across as that person that offends people.

  • @Hoodied said:

It would be rather interesting to see serial killers in dbd, but I don't like the idea

I am cool with killers being influenced from real life serial killers, but seeing Ted Bundy or Charles Manson as a killer would be a bad idea imo

See, this is where I stand with it. I'm a true crime fanatic I suppose, but I'd rather they stay off the games which is what my video is about. Leather face was inspired by Ed Gene who only killed 2 people, but he turned the people he grave robbed into things like masks and suits etc.

  • Honestly? My first ever match on this game in December last year. I went for hag since I had no dlc yet and I got the game for Christmas after seeing videos and thought I'd give it a shot. I sucked obviously, but at the end everyone in that match messaged me and told me I did great, I only hit one person and I didn't know anything about traps etc. Everyone gave me advice after telling them all it was my first match ever, to this day I'm thankful for those 4 people because I would've quit if they hadn't have been so lovely.

Omg, you're a lady, too? Come here, sweet summer child, Auntie Jyn will protecc you! Some communities are chill with female players, but it's a fact some are very toxic. I hope the female market will be given more of an appeal, because there's so many ladies that have grown up gaming and will happily contribute to a community that recognizes them.

I've been mistaken for a dude plenty on here which is fine, I'm very masculine. I still get some comments from people I was friends with in high school, in fact I had an argument last week with one of the guys I was friends with for liking story based games. It's so stupid, like sorry for liking other games that aren't just shooters!

  • I've been gaming since I can remember, I'm 22 now. It's always been a thing when it shouldn't be, I remember in school when the boys would talk about gaming and lil 5 year old me being a girl was excited to make friends, they laughed and told me I probably played Barbie games. Even in single player games like Detroit become human, wolf among us, TWD have negativity in their communities which doesn't even make sense for a game based on its story, but there it is; judged on the choices you make in game. There's a cycle of toxicity in gaming and it's sad, maybe it'll break but I doubt it, for now I hope you have a good day and keep your head up.

  • I kinda hope it's a bit of everything, I didn't like Blight at all imo. I can't get the hang of him, but I do like being able to do a bit of it all.

You are not alone, other console players are finding the same thing.
