Said who? Are they switching from Amazon servers meant for Android/iOS type games finally? Haven’t read anything about that
It was part of the 4th anniversary and announced in the mid chapter ptb notes

Stridor doesnt make a spirit good I've handled stridor spirits by guessing correctly. You have yet to go against a good spirit who understands the power.
Or perhaps there are many survivors who dont understand..food for thought

There is no counterplay. I have 5k hours and I've played against many and used to main her while players still thot billy was better until I got bored of using her cheese. With the right perks she is pretty much unbeatable unless you, yes you, screw up. Has nothing to do with survivors.
You can try and mind game aka totally guess and hope she's dumb or doesnt hear footsteps very well. The thing with spirit is you can mess up a lot with very little penalty. And she's not hard to use. I relied solely on her phrasing. You don't need to run the tiles well at all. With strider and pop I rarely ever lost. The gen slow down was real. If the spirit knows to track the sound of footsteps you're going to lose. Like nurse, you're really only playing against yourself. Your best bet is playing against one that doesn't stack the best perks on her.
Killers thought nurse was balanced so they'll never admit spirit is broken either.
For someone with supposed 5k hours you dont seem to know a whole lot regarding spirit tbh

The problem Spirit has at the moment is that she can hear you while phasing, and that kinda defeats this entire idea behind "mindgaming the opponent". If she couldn't then you would have 3 tools to play with: Information, lack of information, and habits. Spirit can see your scratch marks while phasing. While that's normally good for her, you could use that to feed her misinformation. For example, you could leave scratch marks towards a direction and go the other direction. You could also condition her to assume you are going a specific way. I suck at explaining these things, so here's a video all about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PElmAFZFoqQ
I'm pretty sure that's what the devs intended when they designed the killer, but they overlooked the existence of audio and made her absolutely awful instead.
No because scratches arnt reliable, they didn't overlook anything in that regard..if she couldnt hear her power would be nothing but guess work where survivors control the chase completely..that's just non sensical
-
@SoulKey said:
I agree, either apply a punishment to her ability so she doesn't spam multiple times during a matter of seconds OR just make iron override stridor eliminating any possible counterplays (Tru3 fans, please refrain from replying because you are braid dead).
Although am not a fan of needing to have this exact perk to counter that exact killer, but it's a start.
Calling people brain dead when you mispell brain doesnt make you look like you have room to talk..just saying
-
I never understood this false sense of godhood around spirit..I keep even stridor spirits occupied just by playing different than I would against other killers, I think honestly people arnt trying at all

@immortalls96 Keep downplaying with your strawman argument, every killer has either one quality ability or a quantity of weaker abilities but they all have setbacks to using them and are punished for missing...Freddy has quality and quantity with no setbacks.
Aside from having no power vs awake survivors with several ways to wake up ...that's not a strawman..thats your facts not being straight
-
@Dpooly said:
@immortalls96 Except my post had an idea presented with some brief logic behind it so as not write an unreadable wall of text, yours consisted of "Yeah...noooo" without any explanation or counter argument. He has the Passive Sleep timer giving him free power as well as simply m1'ing someone to keep one of his powers charging...no one else has as much in basekit as him and it's a little ridiculous.
Pig..demogorgan..they have 3 powers each..and the sleep timer makes sense thematically, plus the powers he does get arnt that great compared to some other killers..just keep him from being legion..good players deal with him just fine..granted pop works well on him but he needs a chase for that
-
@Dpooly said:
@immortalls96 Wow, what a thoughtful statement....
@Tricks ...umm, pretty much every Freddy runs BBQ and aside from that, finding Survivors isn't that hard unless they're playing 'super immersion'
To be fair your post isnt much better in that area, I mean..freddy unless your asleep is an m1 killer only, and even when asleep his snares are only the strength of addonless clown gas..freddy players need to place them carefully or they arnt going to get very far
-
I'm sorry but that's absurd....

Rank 1 atm. Some loops just seem to have a massive window box where the survivor will scream really far away but still vault.
If they start the vault lock doc will be denied his shock sometimes..you need to fire early to compensate for the fire delay..remember the stun is long enough you can afford to use it a tad early , also learn to implement shocks during your mind games..every dropped pallet becomes a wall when stunned by a doc shock..it can make some real checkmate plays
-
Matchmaking is currently non existant really
-
@Zozzy said:
I have started to play doc for something new, but i have some questions for experienced doc users.
Is he viable without shock addons?
Are there any loops that you can't beat quickly using shock and should just instantly break?
Do you mean shock range? If so then he needs them at higher ranks..and that's something you need to feel out for yourself , you can challenge almost everything with practice..just depends on where the survivor is
-
I think they are...unviable

I know the best way to counter her is playing as stealthy as you can but can you actually counter her in chase? Some people told me Iron Will and Quick and Quiet are very useful but a skilled Spirit knows how to find survivors efficiently even with those perks. Any ideas?
Never underestimate how effective those perks are vs her..even the best spirits need to make educated guesses..the number 1 tip to mess with spirit is be unpredictable..do not treat her like a wraith, her chase is vastly different than that , for instance..if shes phasing at you and you go past a fire barrel..spin around it and go the other way..it will confuse the heck out of her lol

I hit rank 1 on Killer a few days ago. I have under 300 hours. I get matched up with people who have similar hours to mine, or 10-20x my hours. The fact that I can be in the same "rank" as someone like Otz is absurd. I'm nowhere near as good as people who've played for thousands of hours, yet according to the matchmaking, we're basically identical.
All that is to say I fully agree. Red ranks is pure mixed bag. I can dominate for 10 games in a row on Trapper, who I don't even have to level 50 yet, then lose so bad someone legit says "wow rank 3?" or whatever my current rank is, because they're surprised someone at my rank could do so terribly.
Now from the survivor side, take that same concept of red rank being basically random, and apply it to all 3 of your teammates in solo queue. You could all be the same rank and two of your teammates could comparatively be potatoes. What're the chances of all 4 of you having thousands of hours outside of SWF?
When people say the game is survivor-sided, they don't mean under your average, everyday circumstances of a 4 solo queue players vs. a decent killer, although there's an argument to be made for the strength of a few perks, especially if all 4 happen to be running them.
But where you determine balance is at the absolute top level. Because both sides are basically maxing out the game's potential to what is currently possible. And I gotta say, when Otz goes against a 4-man team that's giving it their all... he gets spanked a whooole lot. That doesn't mean he can't win or never wins against them, but total random partial-solo queue games and proper 4-man SWF games aren't even in the same galaxy of difficulty. The best survivors (from all that I've seen, not from my personal experience, so take it with a grain of salt) can pretty much scrub most of the killer roster clean of anything resembling viability unless the killer knows they're a 4-man SWF beforehand and can spec to counter appropriately.
In many competitive games, the idea is to balance around the top-end because that means as players get better, their all start moving towards that top-end and the balance really starts to pay off. Things being unbalanced in the early hours doesn't really matter as much, as there'll be so many mistakes, misplays and just inexperience that the nuances of balance will rarely be felt by such players.
All that said, as I pointed out, I myself am still very inexperienced. I'm not trying to make too many definitive claims outside of what I've seen from the best-of-the-best players, but what I have seen definitely indicates a survivor advantage at the top-end. I imagine comms plays a huge role in that, and even simple perks like OoO can really just make it unbelievably difficult for a killer to get anything done.
Yeah you pretty much nailed it, nice

As someone already mentioned, Devotion was not a thing when Legacy was obtainable. So someone who played back then might have a lower Devotion-Level than someone who started playing much later, despite having more hours overall AND being around when the game was new.
And then, Legacy would not be something special at all. This is probably the only reason to use the Cosmetics.
And while binding it to Devotion would somewhat make sense, in the end, Legacy would still not be special and it is not relevant how much Devotion someone has. Like, I have Devotion 21, so I would be able to get 7 full Sets of Legacy. Now I get several Characters. But in the Lobby, I might have a Legacy Dwight, but that guy who has "only" Devotion 3 also has a Legacy Dwight. So again - nothing special.
It still shows hes put in hours..and quite a few

The thing is, devotion hasn't been around since the start of DBD. So people who lost their legacy cosmetics could be at devotion 0. So bringing legacy back in this way would not even guarantee people who lost their legacy cosmetics would even get 1 of their legacy pieces back without grinding out devotion levels. Personally I'm only at Devotion 4 with over 4k hrs.
So this wouldn't necessarily resolve the lost legacy issue and would give legacy to players who never originally earned it. Legacy should stay as an exclusive (I also feel as if the event cosmetics should have stayed exclusive, too).
Exclusivity causes nothing but issues..as we can see
-
If this is about otz...your comparing one of the best players around to pub players with 0 sense of a matchmaking system..legions limits are abundantly clear and his lack of chase is his undoing
-
@Angelicus23 said:
I totally agree, I lost my kate and billy summer exclusives for no reason when the requirement was the same as legacy, grind a lot in a very limited ammount of time. Even if legacy is more exclusive at least it should be obtainable at this point with highly so much effort, hope it's part of the new prestige rewards with more steps and I really like the idea of making it btaiinable by devotion
I figured itd be the simplist and most sensible way
-
@Dehitay said:
The legacy was a reward meant to compensate people for grinding bloodwebs at a time when grinding bloodwebs was a nightmare. The real equivalent would be having forcing players to sacrifice bloodpoints into a legacy piece bank and once they get 4 million bloodpoints in that bank, they can unlock one legacy piece.
Well if you reached high devotion you gained way more than that

His power is created to pressure survivor and gain some kind of control on the map. But if you want to help yourself in chases you can take franks mixtape and a yellow ruler. That will for sure help you in some chases, especially when survivors are starting to mend when they are under 25%. Also thanks for your comment :)
Well..the issue is
..making normal frenzy have lethality is oppressive and not really efficient, that could be a problem
-
Remember this is just step one..the server hit validation is supposed to come with faster servers in order to maximize the effect..but the server upgrades weren't launched yet
-
Not bad..however..I feel this may not fix the issue with legion which Is his lack of a chase tool, his pressure is decent but his chase is non existent
-
Red ranks is too much if a mixed bag....that's why mmr is necessary, scott won with old speed limiter bubba and there's no saying that's strong in any respect..there's a ton of bad survivor players in this game, way more than youd think
-
Yeah his burn is not at all necessary for a killer as weak as wraith

You talking about her phasing sound? I don't hear a woosh, I hear a dial up modem.
Lol fair
-
But I love my woosh
-
Yeah it always bothered me because you dont always have good sounds to follow especially since I refuse to use stridor , even if you do you can't just run at every pallet and window, sometimes you need to make a read on if they will fake it or not , whether you need to counter rotate, short phase to get the jump on a pallet camper etc

My hopes for the Radio is not really to be much of an advantage but more of an Easter Egg. But you're right, it could probably just be a Grey or Yellow addon for that sake of that purpose.
Yeah maybe a bp addon..but that's a lot of work for an Easter egg

so what you're saying is that blood is different from...blood. Personally I think No Mither is far from an auto counter, considering you lose an entire health state for the whole match
That's like saying dcing on death hook when the killer has pop goes the weasel isnt impactful..I've lost games to that because it was when I needed pop the most, perks shouldn't affect killer powers directly..not healthy especially with the cheat to see your killer in the game
-
The description says nothing about blood orbs..blood pools and blood orbs are different things..the devs have decided they dont want perks and items auto countering killer powers

Just make it so you have to aim for 2 seconds before shooting lolololololol
Lol then hes worse than clown..terrible idea
-
Hmm..I'll design 2
For killer: ritual of the abyss..each negative change in health states on survivors grants this perk a token, upon a total of twelve tokens all survivors become exposed for 60 seconds, tokens are reset after the perk duration ends
For survivor: heart of gold..every time you take a protection hit, unhook a survivor, or heal a survivor, heart of gold gets a token, at 1 token the perk grants 25 percent healing non stackable bonus speeds to yourself and others around you within 4 meters,this bonus is trumped by other perks
.. at 2 tokens you restore a health state after taking a protection hit after 60 seconds, at 3 tokens survivors unhooked or healed from dying to injured have 25 percent of their healing bar recovered , heart of gold loses all 3 tokens if a survivor is sacrificed
-
Scott's video here has some huge flaws..for one..pretending human error isnt a factor in a human vs human scenario..ludicrous

Wish people actually considered how the other side feels. I do, that's why I don't be toxic to killers (even though I definitely have the ability to do so). Or when I'm killer, I legit will ignore someone if I know they just got off hook, even if it makes me lose in the end. I just want everyone to have fun. And it also ensures me that I'll never get hit with DS huehuehue.
Well you can't expect people to do that especially if it becomes necessary to win..but that's why there are perks for that

It sucks but you can't change these things without vastly changing the game

There are like 17 different killers in the game. Perhaps the person didn't rank up with Spirit. I'm rank 1 and I completely suck with Nurse.
Maybe..but how much bp do you put in killers you dont play? Apparently every spirit but a few is bad with her despite her supposed lack of counterplay, they just waited till rank one and poured in millions of bp before playing her once ...which I find amusing
