Uhm, the extension does not count as an additional attempt at reading, you're not meant to lose more than 1 token in the first place.

Can confirm above comment, plus lightborn extended by Lethal with 12 seconds (only one more than should be Lethal) uses two tokens of Distortion too.

  • Oh, THAT'S WHY Distortion losses only one token...

It already does. If the killer DCs, that match is over.

Giving them the possibility of opening the games after 5 minutes would give them a stimulus to stay in the match and fight to turn the game around before giving it up as a whole.

Imagine all endgame builds shining when there's free endgame whenever killer wants it. Yeah, after 5 minutes, but you definitely can play around that, choose the right time when all survivors can turn the game in their favour (or time when all survivors are more vulnerable) and use that.

Sounds pretty interesting but... well. Abusable.

Then there need to be special condition checking to be sure it is a surrender option and not a new gameplay aspect to play around, plus good time balance where you don't need to wait forever while survivors are torture you but don't have this option immediately right after start. And teach players to use that if they want. And then it's too complicated thing to implement. Boom, pure reason for bhvt to not implement that.

But I'd like to see new gameplay aspects in DBD.

I think it was stated that outfits and their descriptions are not actually canon? Could be wrong about that though..

The canon is there's multiverse in dbd. Observer talks about that, half of arcus entries are about that. Even Dwight The King is canon! Sort of. Not like the only existed one.

Ok, then I would assume its really a bug with lethal. At least an inconsistency.

Maybe we should file a but about this?

Hahah, it's not the bug I'd want them to fix :D at least now with all other problems. But jokes aside, yeah, if it could be a bug (and it could) we should report that just in case.

I appreciate the detailed reply. I understand what you’re saying and it’s not that I’m necessarily missing any perks because I had them all before patch I was just confused as to why color change happened. As far as I know on the other characters they didn’t lose their tiers and still had all the perks so maybe for the unlock icon it’s just a display bug. I can be more certain the next time I get on. I was also curious if it would be cheaper in the long run to P3 everyone so all tier 3 are unlocked or to just buy them in the bloodweb since they’re already available technically. I suppose since I don’t play very many characters it’s just smarter to leave it be and only P1 the newest survivors.

Well, it's cool to have all perks available. You have to level up somewhat 30 levels to get all general perks (which you are going to level anyway) and that's it - every build on every character is available so you won't struggle if daily, archive or your friends want you to play someone else than your main. And it wasn't too hard for me to get new survs to p3, I also had extra points to p1 couple killers and lvl up my main. So my vote definitely is for p3, it's affirdable (for me).

But realistically... Nah, for my main it's completely ok to p1 new survs and then level up the main character.

  • Haven't had a single game against Doctor with Merciless where I'd successfully hit those skill checks being cRazY. Haven't had a single game.

I'm ok with Merciless but under madness it's impossible for me, it's better to accept my fate and wait it out.

I kinda get what you’re sayin but I know tapp had his own 3 perks at 3 before the prestige so essentially he had tier 3 and before prestige it showed my teachables as 2 but after prestige they all went to tier 1

Tapp has his own perks to use which are leveled up through bloodweb. If you found tier 3 in his bloodweb those perks should stay tier 3 in his loadout no matter what.

But those yellow tier 1 ones on top of the screen are shared perks. All other characters will get them with no leveling at all. It doesn't connected with Tapp's loadout and Tapp's bloodweb, only with his prestiges. You can find Tapp's perks in Tapp's bloodweb and get them to tier3 but that's for Tapp only. To affect loadouts of other characters you have to prestige Tapp.

  • @Protoman_369 said:

Before project W went live I had on both killer and survivor all of my teachable perks unlocked however with the current patch after the change, I still have my teachable so able to be purchased in the bloodweb but they aren’t showing that they’re unlocked and whenever I prestige a character even if they had a higher tier of the perk after the prestige they show back as tier 1. It’s slightly confusing and honestly the thought of getting everyone to P3 for tier 3 is a grind I feel kind of forced into. Am I better off just buying through the bloodweb or prestige for all level 3s. I don’t play very many survivors other than Jane and Feng and on killer mostly Oni and leather face. Has anyone else had this problem with their teachable? The pictures are just to show that I had tier 2 and after prestige they were reset to 1. That’s alotta work to go through again for both sides. I hope all this is understandable. I did my best to explain it lol

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XWT5IQ2BZK99/3f133fa8-42ac-4e9b-b7bf-ae33c0601827.jpeg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RD9JCGQCYHGW/ec9ff143-d707-408b-8202-890d8e884179.jpeg

New system is different. You don't "have teachables so able to be purchased" because now there are no "teachables" .The only way you can unlock those perks for all other survs is through prestiges (and shrine, but we talk about bloodweb). So yeah, you can buy perks and level them up for this particular survivor but you have to p1 that survivour to make perks unlocked and shared.

If I understand correctly green color is about game confusion. Like, do you see little locks there? It's because those perks with those tiers are locked and will be unlocked and shared soon after prestige. It's yellow on p0, you get them unlocked after first prestige and now there're green perks with locks. Then after p2 you get tier 2 of the perks and there're purple ones locked. After p3 locks are removed because now all possible tiers are unlocked.

But! You've unlocked first two perks before update, you've already had tier 1 unlocked for all characters even though the character wasn't prestiged. That's why it's green on p0 and that's somewhat visual bug. Having tier 1 unlocked without any prestige contradicts with new rules (again, I don't talk about shrine here) but BHVR didn't want to rob people and remove their unlocked perks. Hence, those perks are here although they should not be and they look green as if you've already achieved p1 even though you didn't. And you won't really get tier2 here. First prestige grants only tier 1 and you have to pass this milestone to reach second one, afaid.

So after your first prestige basically you got only one new perk unlocked - Tapp's 3d one on tier 1. First two you've already had unlocked by the old system. Now game confusion is resolved: you prestiged your character, all your unlocked perks are matched and now everything is ok. You can P2 and P3 the character to unlock tier 2 and tier 3 for all other survs, or you can level up other characters manually to find tiers 2 and 3 in bloodweb and leave Tapp on p1.

If you have the perk unlocked as tier 2 or tier 3 (via new shrine) but it is reseted to tier 1 after the very first prestige of linked character - that's reportable bug and you should contact support. But if your perks were unlocked on tier 1 due to reaching 30-35-40 lvl pre-patch than you have no reason to p1 those characters if you don't want to p2 and p3 them next. Their teachables are already unlocked and shared and p1 does nothing, really. Just like in Tapp's case where you've basically unlocked only one perk.

Anyway, if you think smth is wrong with your unlocked perks, contact the support. They can check.

Thanks for testing it out :).

If you had some additional time, maybe you could check if retribution aura also does only use a single token, since that one is 15 seconds long. If it's one token as well, I would guess it's more of an intended change, if not it's a buggy interaction with lethal.

Just tested. 2 tokens for retribution.

Just like for Lightborn with Lethal. It's 12 seconds, 2 tokens.

Either it's bug, or Distortion actually is 11 seconds now, or there's 1 second delay at the start of the match, or Lethal officially is an exception.

  • Sometimes players ratio is pretty perfect 1:4, hence there's no need in pushing people to play one side or another. So no bonuses.

Oh really? But it Didn't say self-care it just said heal your self 1 times is it?

You know, I continiously get daily like "Kill survivours (Deathslinger) playing as character (2)" in my language. This time all languages have this problem lol

This archive is about healing yourself one time while having Self Care only in your perk load out. You can use medkit to complete it and (afaik) you can let your teammates heal you 99& and finish 1% yourself, it will count. You just need to equip Self Care and nothing more while doing so.

  • Did you use Self Care?

It's typo, it's "finish healing yourself 1 times and escape while using the perk Self Care and no other perks"

Thank you for your answer. This approach makes sense in a way. But what about the players who don't have software installed to record matches? Or those who have software but rarely use it? Or who, like me, record every match but don't send in links because they don't think BHVR is doing anything? After all, I saw it in 2016 when a gamebreaking bug (Myers with chainsaw or Killer with the Perk Bond) occurred before Christmas and BHVR did not prevent this problem until late January 2017?

I'm not arguing about that. At all.

Only exception is in my expirience they are doing anything. I understand I might be lucky enough to meet and report very obvious ones and lucky enough to have so much free time to record, cut, render, upload, search for id64 in case of custom steam link and create tickets. But they do. Maybe much less than we need but...

Still, of course it would be nice to have better report system. And better time reaction. I'm tired of tickets and really want to be able report cheaters effectively. For now I just grateful they removed dumb steamID64 requirement. Plus now they are able to killswitch smth like chainsaw Michael untill all devs return from holidays to fix the issue.

    So maybe one day... :D

How can this work? A match is flagged, a video link is emailed, and then? How does BHVR assign the flag to the video? I don't see that this can work.

When reporting a player ingame, DbD should automatically archive the last match and automatically assign it.

You put YOUR account ID in the ticket. They can match your ID from the ticket with the game that was flagged by your ID in-game. Even if you flagged several games, I'm pretty sure they can link couple videos with couple games, they have enough information at their end.

Tier 3 Distortion hides your aura for 10 seconds, while Tier 3 Lethal reveals it for 11 seconds (used to be 9 seconds but the perk rework added an additional 2 seconds).

Yeah, that's perk description. Didn't loose more than one token tho.

I can be wrong and I'll test that, but for now I'm sure even purple Lethal eats one token. Like if Distortion uses one token for aura revealing.

I mean, if it's time-based revealing, distortion looses one token and that's it, no matter how long the effect is. But if it is action-based revealing (like nurse's calling), distortion looses one token every 10 seconds. Looks like that for me.

  • @PyramidFootLicker said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3184067#Comment_3184067

Lowkey didn't know it noms through two tokens but at least you can get them back when you're in the killer's terror radius. Been getting a lot of Wesker games so capping at max tokens has been easy after depleting them.

Purple distortion uses only one token for Lethal, that's for sure. Maybe I was lucky enough to get non purple lethals but in all lethal games my distortion looses one token only. I should check this later, everyone talks about losing two stacks but... No? Didn't even noticed that downside if it's true? Pretty sure it's not true, tho, it's one token for lethal.

Nevertheless, (for me) it's useful for some solo challenges when you intentionally get value playing stealthy, but most of the times it's just an info perk (again: for me). Most of the times I either don't care so much about those aura readings or I can identify the perks without distortion and avoid aura readings (or face consequences) without using perk slot. Sometimes it's even useless because certain perks and certain builds drain tokens too fast. Okay, there's undying, let me take out all those tokens just through running across the map in searching for potential Devour Hope. Or it's too OP because you're in SWF and can share info about perks with confidence.

It has its value but not enough for me. Other perks can't hide your aura but can help you with consequences and (unlike distortion) are helpful even if there are no aura reading involved.

The only REALLY fun part of Distortion is it tests my knowledges: your token was eating, now identify which perk/addon it was. I can identify perks by killer behaviour, but identifying perks/addons by potential activation conditions is much harder and entertaining.

Also there's math problems. It's one point less after calculations and then this one point is added later. Pretty often problem for games with wrong bonuses but i'm not sure it's connected. It's in my perv report too.

On the issue of wrong calculations. This problem did not start recently.

I checked my recordings and found it after June 7th, 2022.

    https://youtu.be/7R5C_Xfdnv8

However it does not occur every time. Game 1 in the video is bugged at 3AM EST. Game 2 of the subsequent game is fine at 4AM EST.

It has never occurred when I'm the killer. Seems to happen sometimes when I'm the survivor.

*I only saved recordings for this year, so I haven't checked before that, but at least from January to June 6th of this year, it hasn't been buggy, so patch 6.0.0 may have affected it.

    Interesting.

Thank you for the video and information. If it is 6.0.0 then maybe it could be not about incentives and that's good. Then it could be completely harmless since all bps are in place after all. Maybe all bps are in place after all only because of some sort of this double checking. Maybe the system is double checking the score last moment just in case to fix wrong numbers.

But why there are wrong numbers in the first place?..

Like... Now I wonder what's wrong with that one bp and how is it work exactly... X) Now I want this not to be fixed (maybe it's fix itself fixing smth else) but to be explained. Just... How. Why...

  • You have to stun killer four times, you know. In one trial. There's no progress if you stun killer 3 times only, because then challenge is failed. You need all four in one run.

Blast mine does count as stun. I used pallets only 3 times and 1 time it was blast mine, and it worked, the challenge was marked as completed.

Then I don't understand why they left the promt to DH.

I'm not a DH user, I was just meming around and noticed that you still get the prompt and do the dash.

Because they didn't disable DH, they fixed endurances' stacking. And endurances aren't stacking now, you can get two consecutive endurances, you can get endurance while you are in deep wound (and therefore you can press DH button) but you can't get value out of that.

Like you still can eat dull totem but you can't get second stack of inner healing. Dumb example but smth like that.

  • Intended.

You can press DH button and get endurance + exhaustion, but second endurance effect won't save you from dying state since you've already in deep wound.

Just like with legion. His ability won't trigger OTR endurance, endurance will still be active after ability hit, but OTR won't save you from down before you mend.

    Surprising.

Every time I've blocked and killed a Survivor inside the Exit Door compound has resulted in a flurry of insults in the ending chat. Because it's well known, it's the killer's fault if you don't decide to leave when you can.

I think the player was too embarrassed by what just happend lol

  • I was playing solo against Wesker and there were two of us left: me and Mikaela. I was injured and she was on hook on the other side of swamp. I don't like to leave my teammates without any altruistic attempt so I 99d gates and came to her. Wesker left her for a while and I rescued her. Of course Wesker came back, chased and hooked me, I died (it was my 3d hook). Mikaela was really safe, she made it to gates easily but didn't leave. She stayed. Came back to entrance.

Wesker came here too 5-10 seconds later. He did one dash to be in front of gates and second one - right into her. Of course, he grabbed her.

I laughed my ass. I saved her with my life just to see her making killer see her leaving. I understand she didn't know he can do smth like that, but the fact killer can't do smth like that doesn't mean you have right to BM (especially when someone sacrificed life for you).

She went completely silent in endgame chat.

    Can understand why xD

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3178066#Comment_3178066

It doesn't? Funny, I thought for sure it did. Or maybe I'm mistaking it with Legion's Aura reading of people mending.

Yes, it was stated, and that's enought to say it is bug. I just wanted to show that they didn't just switch off Lethal for Awareness only (to make it somewhat exception). They removed after-hooking-aura-reading duration (time based) to make Lethal not working.

So it seems that Lethal's duration is for time durations only. Even though it's not really clear out of perk's description.

  • @WorthlessBeing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3177983#Comment_3177983

    Quote from the wiki:

"You have been designed to track down and eliminate targets.

    • At the start of the Trial, the Auras
    •  of all Survivors
    •  are revealed to you for 7/8/9 seconds.
    • Extends the duration of a Survivor's Aura being revealed to you by +2 seconds.

Lethal Pursuer benefits from its own effect."

Where does it says it only works with time duration?

The word "duration" is literally there. BBQ has duration. Aura reading hook (don't remember its name) has duration. Lethal itself has duration. Ther's no duration in Awareness now. Auras are reveald only while you are carrying the survivour.

And yeah, you can say smth like "you juggle the words here", but no. I am not, that's just how lethal works with ALL other perks and effects: there's Wraith wallhack addon, there's Myers's wallhack addons (Mirrors), there's Hangman's Trick and all those effects work only while you have special conditions: being cloacked, pressing M2, carrying survivour. Lethal has no value for those situations.

And only Awareness somehow has it now even though developers particularly stated it mustn't.

    image.png

  • @WorthlessBeing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3177853#Comment_3177853

Because it used to have a baseline duration after carrying a survivor that, added with lethal, shown survivors for a period of time long enough to be able to catch them - I think it was like 4 seconds or the like, I'll admit the numbers elude me - but now only Lethal's effect of 2 seconds work, and 2 seconds is way less problematic.

Lethal works with effects that have any timed duration. If there's no timed duration, lethal doesn't work with that effect.

Lethal doesn't work with Myers mirrors but does work with other aura reading addons: if it says Myers will see auras 2 more seconds, then lethal prolongs those 2 seconds. If there's no time, there's no lethal value because there's nothing to prolong. Same with Hangman's Trick, for example. No time duration, no prolonging by Lethal.

That's why they removed time from Awareness completely (to remove value, not to decrese it), and that's why lethal value with Awareness is totaly bug.

It's not about whether 2 seconds are more problematic than 4 or not, it's about this synergy isn't intended.

  • Next game, swamp, Wesker. No incentives although there is 100% bonus before queue and after the game. No bonuses applied BUT there's again one extra blood point more for me.

    Again: 20 365 match, 22 991 offerings. Should be 43 356 without queue bonus.

    image.png

And there are 43 356 points

    image.png

But... right before page was changed... boom - plus one bp. No incentives. You can see information fades away, this "plus one bp" occures right before that. Very sneaky point.

    image.png

This is not the case when I get queue bonus. And for now two out of two games with denied incentives have this one extra point. Maybe it's connected.

  • The very next game:

    image.png

Queue bonus is back. Against nurse on farm, couple BP, no flans. No SWF.

No reboot of the game, no anything, just next game.

    It's so inconsistent.

Yeah. I saw your post about the mode, was pretty surprised it works like that. I'm not sure I'm ready to report this problem every time, sometimes I just skip all calculation animations and miss the fact I didn't get queue points, but I had to do that at least once. Frustrating.

  • You let him hit you twice with his ability. If you wasn't standing in front of gates staring at him after first hit, you definitely could escape with no problems (gates are blocked for 5 seconds onpy). But you let him hit you again, and therefore gates were blocked again, and you couldn't escape just like after Pinhead's or Twins' ability.

Don't panic next time, in this particular situation you killed yourself.

30 seconds it's so long? xDDDD

my survi queue its like 5 seconds and... my incentives its on survivors, I don't know why they don't put 25% on killer and 75% on survi.

my killers queue are faster ... not at all but are 30 seconds

Why should they motivate you to play killer if there's too many killers anyway? Incentive bonus isn't candy to split it between roles out of pity, it's a motivation instrument. And motivation instrument won't work if there's no real motivation.

I get it, 30 seconds isn't long for you, but compared to survs queue it's at least six times (!) longer. And that's despite the fact that actual survs' queue with 100% bonus is kinda instant and those 5 seconds is for loading, not for queue itself. In ideal situation BOTH queues should be instant, but even if we acknowledge the ratio (they need four survivors to fill lobby for one killer), even then the six times longer timer is too much.

Like you personally is going to play as killer anyway, without any bonuses, and imagine 25% for killers? You still will play as killer, plus a lot of other people will switch to killer role because they prefer killer side (25% for killers is better for them than 75% for survs). Then every person who switched will increase your queue time dramatically (there's plus one killer who needs four survs to be matched with and one survivor less to be matched with other killers).

Maybe you are ready to wait 5 mins of queue to get additional 25% bps (and be somewhat outmatched due to even bigger lack of survs with your mmr), but that's definitely not what BHVR wants. They don't want you to get bonus, they want you to switch sides. That's why there's incentive bonus for one side at a time.

  • @Th3Nightmare said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3171380#Comment_3171380

in the mornings my queue as survivor is insta and as killer, 30-45s.

That's the whole point. 30-34s queue means there're too many killers, so why give you bonus then? If you play as killer, you make this queue even longer. There's lack of survs to fill all those killers' lobbies, hence there's incentive bonus to encourage them to play and make killers' queue faster.

  • They said somewhere it's not a good decision because different gen time means problems with counting. Killer is approaching, your gen visually is 95% or even 98%. How long does it take to make those last 5%? Should you commit or not? Every game, depends on killer, this time will be different. It is super hard challenge to calculate and figure out the time for specific killer, and it will be amazingly annoying to die for nothing at 99% gen because you misscalculated.

And I don't talk about the fact all procentage perks will be stronger for longer gens and weaker for shorter. So not only survs will be annoyed by gens' inconsistency but also killer players should learn not every perk but every perk for every killer. Imagine guides: Pop is good perk for Trapper but isn't that good for Nurse because Trapper with Pop removes 20 seconds of progress from 99% gen and Nurse with Pop removes only 10 seconds of progress from 99% gen. What a mess.

So no. It's too complicated, imo.

Didn't know it at the time. Would've still sent it regardless, as it will cause survivors to avoid attempting protection hits running through the gate trying to escape, which is not something solo queue needs right now.

You unhook someone, both hit the gate area, killer is about to down the unhooked survivor, normally the healthy survivor can intervene to save the injured survivor and get protection credit. Now, no matter what, killer gets a kill (or another hook at minimum). Nothing you can do.

    That's a bug to me.

It's 5 seconds. If you are healthy and not fully infected (to be instantly picked up) you can be out. Wesker has to wait out ability's animation cool down, then m1 you, then wait out this cool down either and by that time gates is unlocked, you can crawl out before he can pick you (only sbfl can help here, I think). I was there, worked fine for me, I protected my teammate and left. Just don't panic and don't let him down you too far from gates. And, you know, let your unhooked teammate return you a favor: they can get m1 hit for you with BT, get m1 hit for you without BT (no bloodwarden effect for m1) or heal tech you (if you already downed and still can't crawl out). It will waste Wesker's 5 seconds for nothing. Both of you are free. Nothing you can do? Lol.

All other scenarios (you are injured too or fully infected) are like being injured against Deathslinger or Pinhead.

Twins have more chances to punish your healty ass for bodyblocking, tbh

  • Yeah, it blocks exit for couple seconds. Sometimes it's long enough to down them and pick up.

I find this much easier than before. Took me a bit and I was also on the bandwagon at first but it streamlines the reporting process for the better.

Yeah. I had a tough time trying to find id64 of hacker who used custom link. There's no way to get id64 without special widgets or 3d party sites, afaik. Ofc hacker later changed the link. Thanks to my friend I found id64 link via special site so I added it to the ticket before link was changed (and week later I saw a vac ban on their profile), but gosh id64 was so annoying to look for. I really glad BHVR now get tgeir own information and don't force me do their job.

Currently, if you encounter a cheater with an anonymous mode turned on, there's pretty much nothing you can do.

You cannot check their profile, you don't know their nickname or ID, you know nothing. The only one thing that you can do is create an in-game report (but it doesn't really do much... does it?). There had been (and still there is) a similar problem with crossplay players, because you also don't know their actual unique ID and you cannot give a link to their profile, you can only provide their nickname (which can be changed by them).

Now cheaters will just turn that mode on and basically avoid being directly reported by submitting a ticket. It's a shame, because I've already encountered one, made a video, submitted a ticket, but the only thing I was able to give was: "Nea Karlsson 02".

Report them in-game and then open a ticket. BHVR already confirmed they removed id64 requirement from the ticket form, so just attach proofs - all other information they'll have on their side.

  • Do you have instant surv queue too? You should.

You have different mmr for killers and survs. It's pretty possible that there's lack of your-mmr-level-survs so incentives want you to play as surv, but at the same time there's nothing wrong with survs at your-killer-mmr-level to pack your lobby.

So, yeah, YOU (as killer) don't have problems with queueing but other killers (which would be teamed up with you as surv) do have problems and that's why the game gives your survs bonus.

At least, that's how it should work. We know nothing about how true all of that is.

As I understand it, during the game the bonus can change and if you started the game with a bonus of + 100%, then directly in the game it can change to + 0%. This is probably what happened. When you returned to the lobby was it highlighted that the +100% bonus was still active?

I'm not OP but: it should be SAME for ALL people in the group since it depends on average MMR. It doesn't matter if there was 100% or 50% or 0%, it should be same for all. If one swf person is gaining additional points and other person is not there's something wrong with incentives. And OP talks about just that. They were swf but got different bonuses.

Additionaly, imo, if the game offers us 100% bonus for playing it right now we definitely should get those points. There's no common sense in promising me 100% incentives, getting me play the game (like other dozens of players) but then change my bonus from 100% to bright nothing on fly because now there're too many people (because bonus bps were promised for all of them - and then denied based on them accepting the deal). Like... The game was needed survivors, so here I am. I decided to play as needed role, just like you kindly asked me, give me my reward for that.

If we really have to guess whether we'll get our bonus or not after the match that's amazingly scammy mechanic if you ask me x)

They might be using streamer mode if they are on PC. It's a PC only feature and is not a bug.

Streamer mode still let you block people. It's a bug if there's no options at all.

Try to click on their points and not their name. I'm not sure if it's intended or not but "hitbox" for block-profile-friend options is moved to points only.

  • They have their nickname same as killer's name. I can assume they use a streamer mode which hide their profile (profile button) from you.
