That's right. Sweat and try hard like there's no tomorrow and as if you were a streamer or some kind of pro playing for money, like your life depended on it, instead of just for fun.
I am confused to what you mean because if you play against good survivors, you will have to sweat. What does "fun" mean to you? To me it means playing Billy and trying to get chainsaws and win. DoI sweat? Yes. Do I have fun doing it? Yes. So what is fun for you? Maybe this game isn't for you then. You're not supposed to get an easy 4k and have "fun" against a good team by counting on one perk, ruin.

This would force them to change their ranking system so I love it
Ok this was a while ago and I don’t like this idea anymore

This analogy makes no sense. How is Legion getting nerfed into oblivion good for us? How is the devs ignoring the community and nerfing Oni and Nurse good for us?
There are times where the devs do ting the community doesn't want for the better, like the Spirit changes, but that doesn't apply here. They took a weak killer (Legion) and then nerfed him for a bad reason. Oni was fine, everyone loved him and they were happy with him, and they nerfed him anyway and are lying about it, saying it was a "bug."
Legion nerf wasn’t a nerf but instead was a balance.

Just so you know, the devs have stated that admitting on the forums to doing bannable offenses can get you banned. Idk how strict that is in regards to DC'ing but it's been said.
Also, that is no reason to DC. You made misplays and could have even run DS to counter that.
If you would have read carefully the author stated the match had just started so DS was unusable

As a spirit main, these changes are very nitche. Windows valuting change may may cut me a few free hits, and main power is almost untoutched. Althoght colision was very important against iron will users, after this change ill end up with stridor in my kit, or simply rely more on footsteps. I don't mind these nefed add-ons, because the recovery speed add-ons are the best option for her if you want to use any at all. Also the new prayer beads is really interesting. It's effect will give you map pressure when in chase. So overall the Spirit still will be my SWF group destroyer, and this patch won't stop me from doing so.
Good to see a killer that understands

Tremendously true. If anything, Spirit got trimmed down to the playstyle people ACTUALLY play her as. While yes, it is a nerf, they're nerfs in areas that were basically unneeded.
IE, when people's biggest complaint is the fact that they're adding a vaulting animation to her, you know not much changed.
I completely agree. Imagine complaining about a vault animation.

Adapt?, the past says something completely different from what you're saying but you know...
The thing is: i'm not upset by the nerf, (personally wasn't needed), they made nurse UNFUN, spirit will be UNFUN to play AS.
See the problem ?
I actually do see the problem. Its that killer mains don't want to use some skill with killers. Its so easy to win with spirit so with these changes, it will take skill to get a possible 4k.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
These changes will hardly matter to people who are ACTUALLY good at spirit. It’ll just take some time to readjust to her power.
Exactly, the majority of people complaining are killer mains that don’t want to actually learn and use some skill when using true spirit. They want easy chases which is understandable but it’s time to actually use some skill and allow mind games to become more apparent when versing there spirit.
-
@switch said:
Nothing new my man, they nerf killers, they make them unfun, players will stop playing killer and then killers will get some buffs.
killer mains will move onto another killer if they feel that spirit is weak. Survivors got instaheals nerfed but we haven’t quit. We just adapt and move on instead of quitting

"Getting a 4k? That's shouldnt be fun"
Escaping shouldn't be fun, winning is fun and as killer you job is to kill the survivors. Your not their friends and their fun is not my concern, I expect survivors to play the same way. Were on opposite sides and we both want to compete our objective.
Escaping is the icing on the cake when I have fun. I really enjoy looping the killer around as well as getting saves with BT so escaping is just a small portion of that. So yeah, I don;t get the point of your post, can you elaborate?

I'm not normally one for death threats but it's entertaining to see players get so stupid they resort to violence when playing this game.
Stop it... Get some help. Seriously.
I would also report him to steam because that is a legitimate threat

So now that you've clicked on this thread I can begin,
Don't you think it's odd that the killer has to usually play near perfectly if they want to do well? The survivors they can kinda goof around and stuff (which isn't inheritly bad but just keep reading)
Dont you think that the expected perfromaxe of each role should be reversed? That the survivors have to put in the effort as the killer truly gets to feel like a child playing with toys. But how would you do this and add a fun factor to it?... We'll... What if dying was more fun?
Idk but what if the dead survivors could influence the map in any way like with a diversion or maybe a map like beacon they could place idk. And then they get altruism/survival for "beyond the grave" scoring
What do you define “do well” as? Getting a 4K? That shouldnt be fun to do. I can get 2 kills on any killer and “do well” even without perks. Also depends on what rank you’re in and how good you are but like I said, doing well means average 2k

@yobuddd said:
As in, instead of killers running faster, survivors run slower after extended exertion without a breather (whether in a chase or not).
This could add new elements of strategy and might help out with infinite loops (perhaps by making fatigued survivors vault slower?) New items/perks could be introduced to fight fatigue or gain benefits from it.
Anyway, before I get attacked, I’m just thinking out loud. Not looking for nerfs, just changes and improvements. Constant sprinting seems, eh, unrealistic at best. Killers have a connection to the Entity, so that at least helps make sense. The Entity has no reason to imbue it’s dinner with endless stamina!
So, how could this be balanced fairly?
Can’t happen plus Freddy snares would be op and clown dust op
-
@Revickt said:
This perspective comes from a rank 1 killer and rank 9 survivor.
Why don't they just add voice chat as a feature for survivors and balance around that? The genie is out of the bottle with SWF being an acceptable standard now, where we know voice chat is frequently used especially in higher rank games.
So why keep pretending to balance around no voice chat, or balancing subtly towards SWF (thus making the game even harder for solo, you hear this often when mentioning countering NOED, how is a solo to know all dull totems are gone?).
I feel like BHVR should just incorporate in game VOIP and start balancing for it to be the expected scenario.
What about high ranked survivors that solo que? What about lower ranked survivors that solo que? Are you going to just leave them to deal with the “balanced” changes that are meant to impact teams on voice coms? “Oh well, after all, survivors are the power roll with DS and their flashlight and unbalanced loops” . Ugh no. As far as implementing voice coms into the game, I agree with this. We also need post game chat like PC has.

If your idea of celebrating is to not leave until the last second, flashlight click, teabag, etc. in order to annoy and/or shame the killer, that’s not being a good sport.
I mean, I see what you’re saying and at the end of the day, I don’t wait till the last second of egg to tee bag every match I play but some of them are worth To teebag, especially noed or toxic killers.
-
@pemberley said:
You try to stick around, click your flashlights, and teabag, you should accept the consequences of not escaping when you should have.
This is inspired by a Steve and Claudette who stayed to bm, triggered my tier 3, and the Steve miscalculated the distance from the edge and I picked him up - when he promptly disconnected lol. Pathetic classic survivors - they can dish it out but little toddlers can take it better than they can! Still would be nice if there was a mechanic that punished both of them for their bad manners.
You need to learn to deal with these things. I know it’s frustrating but these things happen and as a survivor, it’s a way of celebrating after all that time and effort to escape.
-
Looping is fun and allows the survivor to get away and makes the killer leave if you are good at it. Sounds like you want to be able to chase any survivor and get an easy and quick chase.

Not an exploit either
It was put in to make tractor not an infinite pretty much
So why did the devs remove it? It allowed the killer to access a part of the map by swinging which couldn't by survivors. That doesn't seem to be fair so I think that this fix was a good one

@Faceless said:
This perk needs a nerf.
In some cases it is impossible to clear all totems due to map pressure.
As a solo survivor this perk is very op and makes the game boring because it gives the killer a reward he didn't deserve to have.
It's unfair for a killer to gain more speed, it's simply a perk that rewards people for being bad, and has the ability to give the killer a ridiculously easy endgame.
Imagine a perk that gives the survivor more speed at the end of the game on a permanent basis. wouldn't it be unfair?
About dead hard this perk is disappointing. It does not work in many cases and this is very frustrating. In cases of:
You take a hit and even with the dead harde and exhaustion is activated.
So this perk is a pretty annoying problem
I’ve been there but play killer against toxic survivors and you will be so happy that you have noed. Matter of fact it’s not even that useful if you want to 3k/4K early on in the game
-
We need to make a game mode where no perks can be used. Maybe even no add ons

What are you smoking? Franklin's doesn't counter Insta heals since you can pick it back up especially if your in a swf but spine chill does counter beads spirit since the icon goes off and you can't hear the terror radius
True but it’s a semi counter ad you can’t use it while being chased. Also I don’t smoke
-
killers: nerf instaheals their OP
Franklins demise: Am I a joke to you?
Yea nice logic isn’t it
don’t act like ima bring spine chill every game

@Mister_xD I know how to mind game, the issue is the survivors are so good they usually don’t fall for them and pop goes the gens or two by the time I get them downed. Especially on cold wind maps.

- Creating Synergie with your Perks and maybe Add-Ons.
- Try to juggle alot between all Survivor, don't focus on one Survivor unless you don't care about winning.
- Be unpredictable with your Mindgames, because if Survivors catch on what you're doint, they can dodge your Mindgames. Do unusual routes and then usual routes.
- Hide your red stain, this will make Survivor's having a harder time at looping because they can not see where you're going.
- Understand spawn locations so you don't have to rely on Whispers or Luck.
Thanks for the tips. maybe I was just unlucky with my games because ruin spawned in obvious spots multiple times, like by a gen.

How did you make it to red ranks with Bubba and Wraith. . .

@GrootDude Nurse is definitely not #1 on console at least. 90% of the time I escape against her, Im red rank now, but as far as skill cap I think nurse has a great advantage. IMO, Freddy is #1
-
@TheUnendingNightmare The best option is to leave the loop. As survivor, I love the big loops and I dont see any reason they should be changed. They are a powerful position to be at and im sure you had many opportunities to catch survivors out of the loop.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare actually the loops are just fine especially against a killer that can teleport, place snares that really slow the survivors running speed, and yea need I say more? Two kills isn’t bad at all.
-
@Kaelum Pretty sure its lower than that, imagine being stuck in a corner for 5 minutes because the killer is blocking you...

You don't really negate the effects though. The point of Ruin is to make the generator slower. You instead made the generator slower. It's the same thing in the end.
I guess so but isn’t ruin inconsistent sometimes and gives multiple skill checks so my gen tapping negates those. Regardless I don’t gen tap anymore but it would be cool to test the times out of both gen tapping and not

Thank you to everyone replying, leaving suggestions, and trying to help me understand what has been going on/what to do going forward. I didn't think about this being an aftereffect of the bloodhunt, swf specifically, or prove thyself becoming more popular. It very well could be a combination of the 3 with toolboxes, communication to avoid me and the tools my power provides, and other perks to speed up gens like prove thyself and resilience. I do think that, if that's the case, this shows a big problem when perks paired with certain items changes the game that much.
Playing casually as trapper at rank 1 I think red rank has many bad survivors and you have been matching with more swf lately.

Play in high ranks and people don't gen tap at all. Bad survivors think that they do gens faster this way, but they don't at all.
I actually figured out the perfect rhythm to gen tap most efficiently on ps4. Not quickly but when you get to 15 blood points, release and repeat. In a team stop at 28 and repeat. Even though it’s slower, it negates all affects of missing ruin skill checks

I have around 17 of purple and red keys. 30 of syptic agent and 30 needles. I like to hoard items
-
@MysticAdvisor The last thing I need as a survivor main going up against a prayer beads spirit or snare Freddy is a bunch of switches that need to be flipped on before being able to start repairing a gen. Your idea is really good but it wont work with the current state of the game. Totems are enough as a second objective and those are time consuming especially against a good killer.
