Killer only gets to see you if you look at them while they're looking in your direction. You can see them when they're back is turned and they have no idea.
That is correct. I'm well aware how it works.

I don't. I find the stealth gameplay to be beyond boring. But definitely a good perk for those that like it.

I feel they should actually balance their game. What they do is blatant catering to one side over the other. Games can be done is about 3 mins. People don't want to waste a perk slot on ruin; they HAD to.
The right choice is to look at why 80 something % of people used ruin and fix that problem. Not nerf ruin into the ground without fixing the reason why people needed it.
Survivor side is M1 to victory. It's not even a game. It's running circles and M1.
Even with ruin, gens usually went far too fast. They need to take at least double, if not triple the time they take. But, they don't. It's the same time. And now the only tool people had to defend against this is taken away.
Behavior is ruled by their Survivor players. That's why gen times will never increase. That's why we got SWF. That's why SWF is never balanced for.
Nothing can be done that would ever piss them off too much. Yet, Killer players are pissed off with nerfs that cut to the bone routinely and not a single person at Behavior bats a ######### eye.
They know who feeds them. The real idiots are the people who keep playing Killer. As long as Survivors can find matches, then Behavior is happy. Your experience, as a Killer player, means absolutely nothing to them.
Ask the lead. Don't like playing Killer? He has three solutions for you.
1: Take a break.
2: Play Civ 3.
3: Play Survivor.
I decided to play Street Fighter 5 instead of Civ 3. But, Matt's advice was helpful. The best solution to this game is to just walk away from it. It's not worth it. And, frankly, I'm finding these forums posts not worth it anymore either.
I don't think playing killer makes you an idiot. I don't think people would play it off they didn't enjoy it. I've honestly cut back on killer because I really don't enjoy it anymore. But to say anyone who does is an idiot is a little much.... Honestly just take a step back and calm down some. That's Rich coming from the guy with a cellar door over his Avatar because I've been an ass but really it isn't worth being this upset and attacking everyone.
-
Because object takes confidence in your ability to run it. The killer is going to know where you are. If you're not good at running the killer you will not last long with object. Fortunately most are not confident and don't run it. So it really isn't an issue.

That's just it. Asymmetric game play doesn't work well with capitalism. These greedy ass holes will always just listen to the largest part of the community (Survivors) because that's where that sweet, sweet, DLC money comes from. They don't give a single flying ######### about us.
Also, it's the Killer player's fault for not doing what I did. Just stop playing. There needs to be protests; a boycott. But, you people are too ######### ######### to have the balls to do what needs to be done. I haven't played for about a month and played better games, like Street Fighter 5 instead. https://streetfighter.com/
I don't need this sad sack of ######### of a game in my life anymore and I hope the devs do go bankrupt. They are ######### devs that made a ######### game. That's what's supposed to happen.
If you feel they should make the game in their spare time for free then I don't know what to tell you.
-
I don't have an issue with the hatch. However I can not understand why keys are a thing. It bypasses so much of the game.
The way pipping is set up you don't need to do much of anything to pip as survivor...you especially don't need to survive. Killers need the hooks and kills to pip and the keys rob them of a chance for that.
As a killer my only real counter for a key is an ebony (if they bring the key...if they find it in game i'm screwed). I can make sure everyone is gone before the hatch even spawns. I absolutely hate doing that though as it robs me of points and I don't find it fun.
-
I honestly mean no disrespect towards anyone whatsoever...but after playing the ptb for a day and hearing docs music...I hope they just leave the chase music alone.
-
I don't know. I'm slowly playing less and less killer as it keeps getting more sweaty and less fun. Solo survivor is boring as hell. They drop swf and I'm probably done all together. But I honestly understand the frustrating part of it.
If it makes you feel any better if you ever get my friend and I you don't have to worry about many escapes. We don't do gens lol

I'm awful as the stalkers XD especially Ghostface. Hag is really intuitive for me, especially against bad survivors.
If I play to stalk with ghost face I get rolled. I suck at it. If i play him sort of like wraith...as in stealth but don't even bother with stalk I do very well with him. Watch fungoose play ghost. He is really, really good using the stalk and he is very informative when he plays.
-
I just want pretty woman leatherface. PLEASE!!!!
-
That's all well and good and yes the new ruin can work well with killers who can pressure generators. Problem is you have a choice of 3....maybe 4 killers that have the ability to pressure gens like that.
-
I don't believe all the people saying they will do this just for spite. But it will increase. Call them sweaty if you want but people play the game to win. Without a way to slow down the incredibly fast objective speed with a perk, killers will adapt to win and it will include slugging and tunneling.
I know everyone is somehow made to believe 2 kills and 2 escapes is balanced. But 2 kills is a depip most of the time for killers. They will do what they have to do to pip.
-
I disagree to an extent but I guess it depends on what people are after. SWF/good teamates in my experience can help you escape. I know there are a lot of people that only feel like the match was a success if they escape.
I for one could not care less if I escape. if I have fun and pip i'm happy. Or sitting at rank 1 if I have fun and safety pip i'm happy. Pipping as a survivor could not possibly be any easier than it currently is. I find my own play at the game determines whether or not i pip, baring the occasional get chased off the bat, get caught and never saved so you don't get a chance to do anything other than your chase points but that is rare...for me at least.
-
In my experience, 50% of red ranks, purple ranks, and green ranks are all exactly the same. The only difference is in how much time they can put into the game between resets. With the new reset all of those greens and purples are going to be reds unless they decide to make pipping as a survivor the least bit challenging.
-
reworking objectives. Gens are boring as hell so I don't want them to take longer. But either a secondary objective or somehow make gens more challenging.
-
If I mistime when to tbag or do one too many tbags it costs me. that can be demanding.
-
Lets be real for a minute. This game has been out a couple years now. It is still being developed and it still has a strong player base. As much as I have said they are, the team at bhvr is not stupid. Do they do things thinking about money more so than the established player base? Probably. But they are not a charity. If they don't make money, there is no game right? So we can't fault them for that. I'm sure they know the objectives are a major issue. I'm sure they know playing survivor is extremely easy and i'm sure they know that they don't need to change it right now because they are still making money.
I have no proof but feel confident the ruin change was made because they viewed it as costing new survivors sticking around and buying cosmetics. When the fact that survivor is so easy and playing killer is something most people don't want to do and they start losing players/money they will fix it. This doesn't mean they are stupid or evil...it means they are a business.
-
Yeah, mindbreaker imo is a good perk for any survivor because that's one less useful perk the killer is running.

I get greedy, and it backfires sometimes. I'll go for a fancy hatchet when I could have M1'd and miss, or I'll leave someone slugged and they'll get picked up almost immediately. Otherwise as survivor, I'll mindgame myself and end up running right into the killer.
That is the worst. Feel the killer is going to mind game so you do a counter mind game only to run right into the killer because they didn't mind game at all lol. I sit there yelling YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!! lol
-
The only reason ruin is working with surveillance is because it's new. People in the ptb are jumping on a gen and immediately letting go to see if there is ruin. That will stop. They will jump on a gen, they will not let go until they are done. It's already being done. People on hooks are on looks longer in some games because the people on the gen are not taking the chance of hopping off and setting off surveillance. Gens are done so quickly you can easily do this. This was one of the biggest nerfs to a perk that has been done and you can save this and call me out on it if i'm wrong but I guarantee you new ruin will be the deja vu for killers. Nobody is going to use it.

Yes, maybe it really depends on region and rank. On which rank do you usually play?
I am rank 1 survivor and killer. I am an ace and Ash main and my survivor sightings probably are pretty close in line with yours.
-
I keep saying this...as someone who plays both equally, gens are way too fast. WAY too fast. But they are also the most boring, mindless objective in any game i've ever played so I absolutely do not want the time increased on them. Either the objective needs changed completely or a secondary objective needs added imo.

Giving love to the Nurse, the Doctor and "The Chainsaw Bros" was mentioned in a stream not so long back. I know they "gave love" to the Spirit before her time but the first two are pretty much done now.
What are we hoping for or expecting from these reworks?
I have no idea. Hopefully they actually mean love and not nerfs? both the bros are incredibly easy to loop. LF has zero map pressure and a huge terror radius. Running sprint burst alone and being smart makes it hard for him to get anything going.
-
It's honestly fascinating how people have such different experiences. I can't tell you the last time I went against a huntress. Seems like all I see is freddy, ghost, wraith, and trapper anymore. Which the trapper really puzzles me. I've gone against more trappers in the last 2 months than I have in probably the previous 6 months.

Only you can decide what your after.
Pros - Cool cosmetics, sort of creepy (he is a clown), greeat Mori animation, PGTW is a great teachable for other killers.
Cons- Next to no map pressure (even worse now), boring power that doesn't do much without great add-ons, boring to look at weapon (personal opinion), has no great perk builds or variety to be competitive.
I have clown because I bought the chapter upon release. For some reason I made a impulse buy just that once and I must say I regret the decision. Kate is ok but she isn't the survivor I play.
Another con: He sounds like he is taking a dump every time he vaults something. Makes it even harder to mind game with the big fatty. I don't understand why this is still a thing.
-
What else could you have done? Play the game of trying to carry them, they wiggle off, and go right back to the same spot so you can't hook them again?
Anyone who plays killer has had this happen. Someone breaks hooks in an area and runs right to that area when they are going to be downed. You have 2 options. Let them lay, or carry them until they wiggle off and what do they do? Go right back to the same spot. Almost asking to be left to lay on the ground.
But yet, you go into a game and you as killer decide the game is going way too fast so you start to slug. Once you get them all slugged what happens? Those damn disconnect emblems start replacing the survivor emblems really quickly. Then you get told that nobody likes to spend the match laying on the ground, git gud etc. So I honestly can't tell if they like laying on the ground and wasting time or not.

Dedicated servers increase the latency between killer and surviviors by design, so its the logical result that interaction between them (hits specifically) are gonna be more inconsistent. People didn't consider that when they cried for their introduction. Specifically survivors didn't think of the upsides of an latency-less killer, and only complained like headless chickens. Now that they are finally welcomed by the beautiful concept of physical distance, they want to go back to Peer 2 peer. A killer with 300 ping, will still have a 300 ping on servers, and most likely be way higher, because there is a 3rd party (the server) inbetween.
While I personally always had (and still) preferred P2P, I know the developers are not gonna back to it, because its gonna break the game for another year, if they do.
Pretty spot on really. I mean, I give the devs a lot of crap but this is a perfect example of damned if you do, damned if you don't. Literally everyone was screaming for dedicated servers. Give them what they want and they'll be happy right? Maybe this is why they don't listen to us anymore lol.

Yea and all they need to do to fix oni is to make it so he doesnt lose his power after picking someone up, but the devs want to encourage slugging lol
Yeah, I honestly have not seen if the devs have explained their reasoning for this or not. I'm sure they have one and i'm sure they are not trying to encourage slugging but the way he is currently set you are silly not to slug when using his power.
-
Not sure I like the idea of that game play, but I do like the idea of getting people to switch roles some. But I honestly think most people play both sides. I would like to see statistics on how many people do play both roles though because as of now the only thing I can go on is people I know and people I watch.
It seems like what people label as "killer mains" usually play both sides. In my experience rank 1 killers are usually rank 1 survivors as well. I do however see and play with many people that strictly play survivor. Or mostly play survivor but will play their rank 16 killer when they get a daily for them from time to time.
-
I will add that I do hope noed becomes meta. It just does not look like bhvr has the time yet, or the desire to change the objectives in the game and the objectives are too fast. If noed becomes meta it will at least make sure survivors are taking an extra 30 seconds and cleansing totems. Any little bit helps.
-
@KingOfGhost said:
There reason is simple totems placement is trash and as survivor you only need to remeber where you see totems wild you go from gen to gen.
Yes you will get a "free" kill but if the rest of the survivors have half a brain cell and are not rank 20-15 they will leave the moment you hit the survivor.
If the killer brings moris all the time then every survivor that's not a rank 20-15 will DC before the game starts and they will just wait for the next game. If those DC continues for a month then the devs will use the nerf hammer on the moris too.
What I believe will happen we will have more and more slugging from the killer that will stay because it's the ONLY way a killer that's not a spirit or bill ( or even oni ) to pressure the survivors consistently.
I agree slugging will increase. If you watch streamers with a ton of hours in the game that don't run ruin...they slug, they tunnel, they proxy camp. Even ones that people consider to be the best. You simply can't play nice against majority of survivors with the gen speeds and come out on top. Also...Oni was built to slug. You actually get punished with his power if you don't slug.

Ruin is useless in red ranks. it gets cleansed pretty fast because survivors there know the totem placements. and can find and cleanse ruin pretty fast. and also. it doesn't effect veteran survivors.
and with ruin gone. i expect the rise of Corrupt intervention.
which is In my opinion. Stronger than a perk that only lasts for 15 seconds and doesn't effect veteran survivors.
for the first week. i expect a higher amounts of killers playing dirty and using moris because of the ruin nerf.
and after the killers' rage ends.
I expect the " hide for 2 minutes " thingy (idk what to call it) to be a lot more used if corrupt intervention became a lot more popular. which would work in favor of killers like the trapper and the hag. making them more viable in red ranks. and for other killers. i expect a rise in whispers' popularity. it's already a great information perk. and with the 2 minute hide thingy. it may reward you with free hits for the 5-25 seconds wasted looking for the survivors.
also noed becomes a bit more popular.
for balancing perspective. if noed becomes a bit more popular. it's almost guaranteed that there will be a bit more people complaining about it. which may increase the chances of a noed rework. or just some way to help survivors in knowing how many totems left. like for example a totem counter on small game. or the sound of totem breaking will be heard by everyone on the map.
a corrupt intervention nerf probably won't happen in the near future.
note that these are just my predictions.
And as absurd as these predictions sound....I think you're probably spot on.
-
I got upset about the ruin change because it did not address what i've been frustrated about for months now. The maps in this game are set up that good survivors take a giant dump on good killers. Even tofu who is probably the most optimistic streamer there is said just the other night, when you get a lobby of good survivors, you just roll over and take it. That is completely deflating to play killer. Knowing that your skill will take you so far but ultimately your game outcomes rely on you getting survivors who are not very good. It's frustrating and something I hoped would be addressed but it does not look like it.
-
Look at the bright side, you could be a quentin main. He didn't even get a usable perk or a human face.
-
This is a non issue. The new ruin is not good. I've tried it myself. I watch streamers use it. Sure there are some that will get some bhvr folks in their chat and being whisperers they will say they love the new ruin etc. but i'm telling you not a single killer is going to run the new ruin consistently at all. It has very little effect on gens and is not worth a perk slot being a hex. This combo will not be an issue as ruin will be used about as much as survivors use deja vu
-
Honestly, I don't see there being ranks much longer. Look at the match making. Look at the changes. The best vs the best is so far out of balance it is amazing. Best survivors vs best killers and killers don't stand a chance. This is something that has bugged me for a while now and I honestly don't see how it would be fixed. I honestly think all players will be mixed. Water down the pool big time. It keeps bhvr from having to try and fix the maps, killers, etc.
Could be wrong, but that's my prediction.
-
I don't know if there is anyone that gives this game more ######### than I do. But I honestly don't see all the fuss about dedicated servers. Hit boxes are crap. They were before dedicated servers, they are after. And this one I can't stress enough, IF YOU ARE IN CHASE AND DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN A FAST VAULT YOU RISK BEING HIT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VAULT. It's the way it is. I even watch streamers have it happen to them every single day. Happens to them as survivor, happens for them as killer. Yet every time it happens they act surprised and say "wow thanks dedicated servers" PS4 just got servers yesterday and it did not change this mechanic what so ever. Fast vault, or risk hits.

Hi I'm a Freddy main I get Alot of h8 in my messages on ps4 by survivors trying to tell me howto play and mad cause they died n I apparently tunnel to much but I mean fresh of a hook and wounded wouldn't u go for the weakest first?? (or that 1 guy constantly looping n flashing u wouldn't u make sure they stay dead??
This is the best advice I can give anyone....when you get messages from survivors complaining of your game play either have a nice meme ready that you use or simply reply with a GGEZ. Let it at that. I play killer and survivor equally...actually more survivor now than killer since it is no longer fun and I can tell you that absolutely nobody, and i mean nobody can even memorize, let alone abide by every single rule from the survivor rule book. No matter how you play you will get survivors telling you what you did wrong if they end up dead. You can't take it seriously at all.
One thing I like to do depending on what map i'm on and the situation of the game...a survivor you are tunneling, even the good ones get pissed and scared. Their looping becomes less efficient and you can usually get them to throw any damn pallet you want them to. So even though I have no plans of making it a full on chase I will definitely capitalize on them giving me a couple pallets.
-
It really depends on you. To me, it's overrated. And when I'm playing survivor and sitting there holding a button on a gen all game, I don't really care to be doing the same to heap myself with SC against sloppy butthole all game. To me, it's a waste of time. If I'm bringing a perk to heal myself it's going to be inner strength. But if sc works for you then do it

This is what gets me with all the people screaming 2 kills is balance. 2 kills is a depip. Now with nothing to slow gens at the beginning, popping them and being able to use the key for hatch is going to happen much more. The only way I can control it as killer is if they bring a key and I can counter with an ebony. If they find a key in match not much can be done.
-
He has good perks but is basically the same low ceiling killer all but about 4 others are. I still play him in my rotation at rank 1. Just know your game is definitely determined by the survivors you get. Bad survivors you'll do fine. Good survivors your have your ######### pushed in. As long as you're okay with that then go for him.

Quit your crying and adapt
Survivors didn't quit playing after balanced was nerfed? Survivors quit playing when you find them first in a match. They quit playing if they don't think you waiting long enough to hook them again. They quit playing if you don't follow their rules in every match.

I don't like playing toxic as killer because it sucks the fun from the game and I don't enjoy getting my ######### pushed in against good teams. I don't want to restrict myself to certain killers. I've seen a lot of people saying everyone should switch to corrupt intervention instead of using ruin, so I've come to save every survivor main, thank me later.
(This works better with urban evasion).
When the match starts, as soon as you see a gen being hugged by entity's paws, you start crouching away of every thing and play ultra stealthy for 120 seconds. (Bonus points if you stun the killer without them seeing you first, it should grant you the "Jump scare! 50 BP").
Watch the killer going back and forth looking for people while desperately having an eye on his precious timer; just like ruin, corrupt intervention will be cancelled by survivors without having an impact on the game.
By the time the timer ends, the killer's morality will be so low that you can trigger his PTSD with the very least form of bullying, so be careful, we're not trying to traumatize anyone (or are we?)
I guess everyone has a different definition of fun.
