I mean, doctor has never been good. Now he's just less good. Still slightly better than clown and about average with every other killer except 3 or 4.
-
I've only played 2 games so far. Ruin is exactly how everyone predicted so far. Useless early game, gone by mid game. It could have potential if it was not a hex. But as is it's 100% useless. Will see how it goes but I don't see anything changing. Totems spawn where they can he seen and survivors like shiny things and will cleans it. Doesn't last
-
My thoughts, doctor is honestly still doctor. He's always been extremely weak and still is.
Ruin as a hex perk is absolutely useless. Could have potential if not a hex.
Lerys looks absolutely amazing.
-
It is already safe to say...ruin is still not a late game perk lol
-
Holy ######### lerys is dark
-
I don't know. This community is very, very strange. They keep doing things that make you think people are going to quit playing, then they bring out a cosmetic or a new m1 killer that is no better than the last 3 m1 killers they released but looks cool and people come back.

You obviously didnt understood the difference between Ruin and DS. Ruin doesnt counter any cheap gameplay of survivors, while DS is needed to counter tunneling, which is just cheap play of killers.
DS doesn't just counter tunneling.

I actually watched some saved clips of mine from around 18 months ago. It took all of about 30 seconds to find red rank survivor and killer matches. It definitley seems to me that the game is dying off. I have no clue if that is just due to the game being 3 years old and it's naturally going to happen, or what but it's certainly not what it was.

I'm playing killer at yellow ranks and yes, i think it's still fun, if i get paired with survivors of the same level.
That is actually good to hear. I honestly hope it is still fun for you as you rank up. I've been rank 1 for 2 years now and I just don't enjoy it at all anymore.
-
I won't be. I have never played as Doc and I don't plan to start now. I'm assuming he will be just as weak to play against if not weaker so i'm not too concerned. And ruin is useless, no need to play the ptb to know that.
-
I agree with this post completely. And since every killer they bring out anymore is weak, they shouldn't be killing ruin.

I took Ruin out of all of my builds today and all I've gotten, even playing "fair", is teabags, gen rushing, d/c's, and SWF using BT/DS/Infinite Heals to get escapes they don't deserve
I believe you. I don't think you will be able to play fair against good survivors anymore unfortunately

I'll probably play doc a few times to test him out then take a good ol' break
I have no thoughts on doc as I have never once played as him. I always like going against him because he is so easy to loop.
-
They need a reason to leave a gen for it to start regressing. What will that reason be? You chasing them off the gen? Then you already know they are there so what good is surveillance?
-
Again I don't buy this. My son got the game for Christmas and already quit playing. He wanted to be a killer main. He can't find games. They have made survivor so easy to pip that there are not enough in low ranks to play. So I don't think they care about new players any more than they do old players.
-
Way to passively aggressive complain whole telling people to stop complaining.

Slugging is not just slugging the whole team, quite often killers slug the second to last to deny the last person hatch if they don't know where it is. I see this in a lot of streams I watch and it happens enough in my games. I don't slug as killer because I know how dull it is. But to each his own. In tunneling there are a lot of survivors who use it incorrectly but there are quite a few killer mains that subscribe to the remove one player from the match early strat. It's a good strat but it really punishes the other player. I see why people complain but it doesn't do any good.
My mistake. You are correct. I was not thinking of that and thinking more so of the stuff like hexy is doing now. Slugging from the start to allow the game down.

I missed all the posts on here where survivors complained about ruin.Tunneling, camping, and slugging have been at the top of the list of survivor complaints with the current ruin, so considering all the killer mains threatening this nothing is bound to change. FYI I am fine with current ruin though the current meta of ruin and pop is frustrating.
I play survivor 80 percent of the time. Slugging matches are rare. They won't be. And survivors definition of tunneling is if you are hooked everyone else needs to be hooked before you can be again so yes they complain a lot.
-
They will welcome it until they keep getting 10k point games because they are over so quickly or because they spent the entire time slugged on the ground.
-
Yes. We saw how they listened and the ptb saved legion....oh wait
-
Basically. I thought it was weird that they punished you with Oni for not slugging. Now it seems like slugging is what they are after.
-
No other way to see it. It's extremely obvious
-
So new survivors don't know about ruin and instead of adding it to the tutorial the game is just made easier for all survivors? At a time when it's already so easy to pip as survivor that new killers can't find games because every survivor is red rank? Doesn't seem well thought out.

If it's not true I guess those that can and are must be doing something thats just not possible 🙄.
Nobody is using those killers and consistently doing well. Again, you CAN do well because most red rank survivors are not that good. The result of your game depends on the skill of the survivors for the majority of the killers.

The same was said for wraith until one person won 49/50 games with them at rank 1. Now people think they are viable.
Every killer can be viable if the person playing them knows exactly how to utilise the power. People will always gravitate to a meta and a killer meta is no differnet.
A meta is what yields the best overall results or in some cases which is easier to better with. Those that can do as well without using the meta show more skill imo.
This is not true at all. If you have a map that requires the killer the same amount of time to walk from one side to the other as it does to repair a gen almost there is nothing you can do. Most of these killers possess zero map pressure and maps are too big. It does not matter how good the player using the killer is.
-
This got is obviously a dumby. The devs said this is good as so have the rank 20 survivors. That's good enough for me
-
It's just compounding I think. Obviously survivors buy more cosmetics so get catered to. It's just starting to get old really.

Thst depends on the player. The killers do have power its just how well each person can use it and with whom.
Not everyone can be great at all games afterall. I fail to see why in this game that players always feel they should be though.
That is not what I'm saying. I'm saying any killer should be viable any game. The way it is now there are 2 or 3 killers that are viable against good survivors. I don't care of it's Zubat himself. As the clown, on a large map against good survivors you will fail. You will fail every single time. You need to have bad survivors in order to have good games with a lot of these killers.
There are literally loops that if ran correctly against certain killers it is completely impossible to catch them. That should not be a thing
-
Meh, the good thing is the criticism is coming from people who play killer. It seems pretty obvious the devs don't listen to anything killers have to say so it should be ok.
-
Pop relies on hooking a survivor to use it. It will be useless regardless in the new slug meta the devs are after. I thought it was weird they brought out Oni and punished you for not slugging. Now this change to ruin it is really looking like they are pushing for it so whatever.

But I'm not comparing those, you failed to see the whole point of the thread. It was addressed to those who thought devs are catering to survivors. When they are not. They have been balanced those perks I mentioned, they've nerfed instaheals, they've reduced the amount of safe pallets replacing them with unsafe ones, especially on newer maps. My whole point is, that DEVS AREN'T CATERING TO SURVIVORS. This is a message for every entitled killer main that think they know best.
Again I disagree. Even the streamers who play mostly only survivor complain that survivor is way too easy. Literally all of them except pug who likes to just stir the pot.
I understand what you're saying but the game is still set up that anyone with two hands and a somewhat functional brain can make the game a nightmare for a killer. DS was not balanced. It went from one or two people having it a game to almost every survivor.
-
Nobody understands them except the handful of people who only play survivor and know nothing of killer. They both seem to be on the same page
-
Just think about the killer trying to down someone who was running mom, DH, DS, with an Insta heal and adrenaline. Mind boggling. Compared to a perk that you use knowing it is going to be a vacant slot at some point in the game....usually very quickly.
-
None of those are even comparable to a perk that can get got in 30 seconds. There was zero downside to running any of them
-
Yes they are fixing it so we can't see other people's ranks. Therefore we can't complain. Problem solved
-
You should pick something besides the perk that almost every survivor runs to make this argument.

No matter the rank, unless you’re a survivor (sometimes you have to wait even then), you’ll probably have to wait at least 30 minutes to be called into a trial. 🤷♀️ Kind of impossible to get short wait times for killers. As for “concerns,” there never really was any. Devs just want quicker ways to make money. That’s why every 3 months new killers are released.
Red rank killer wait times are none. I get killer matches literally instantly. You know why? Survivor is so incredibly easy that the vast majority are in red ranks. Leaving killers in yellow and brown ranks with nobody to go against.
-
This is the silliest nonsensical argument ever. "It will show us real killers that don't need to rely on it". How can that be a fair statement when these "real killers" are still having to go against the "fake" survivors that still are able to rely on their 47493 second chance perks they lean on so much?
-
-
My son being brand new and waiting 30 minutes for a killer match at rank 20 proves their concerns about new players having fun are false.
-
Seems like bhvr may want to up the kick backs then because none of the whisperers are saying nice things lol
-
It is pretty comical. But honestly pipping with survivor is so easy that ranks really don't matter. Many rank 1s play like rank 12s
-
Playing killer has not been fun for a little while now. I play survivor more than anything as it is the only way that you feel your skill is actually rewarded.

Obviously, the recent changes announced to Hex: Ruin have caused an uproar among a lot of community members, so it got me thinking, what are the inherent problems of Dead By Daylight's design? Some believe that simply increasing generator repair times will fix issues with generators being done too fast, but that doesn't account for the other issue, the fun factor of the game. In my personal opinion, this game is not a competitive experience, no matter how hard it tries to be, and at the end of the day, both sides are played by real people who just want to have fun (well, most of them do at least). So I want to ask the killers of the community a question, what are your personal reasons for running Hex: Ruin? Also, please, let's try to keep the discussion respectful!
I agree, the ranking system is so jacked that the game will never be competitive. But, I have played this game for 2 years. Killer mostly for over the first year. I don't play killer much anymore. It isn't fun. The game keeps changing to help survivors that are not very good.
The result is the killers have fun when they go against potato survivors. When they go against good survivors it is a miserable experience because it has been made almost impossible for killers.
-
Speaking of tru3 want the point of fog whisperers to give insight on the game as well? Isn't it telling that the fog whisperers are a thing and every one of them basically says the devs are clueless?

Isn't that the guy, who tested Wraith in red ranks about a month ago for about 20 games and he managed to 4k in ALL those games and didn't pip only in 1 of those games because of a "god loop"? LMAO This game is sooo "survivor sided", can't stop laughing.
Some people need a reality check.
It is the guy that plays both sides equally and shows with evidence how survivor side the game is.
-
Yeah, not sure where the devs got this information but they need new informates.
