Did you see OhTofu's reasoning video? It makes some sense honestly.

I did and it has me honestly questioning if the devs are actively trying to ruin the game. I can't make sense of what they are trying to do and I can't find where they have explained it.

  • Just my opinion but billy. I have a one hit down and map pressure whenever I want.

I could also argue for many other killers that don't have garbage powers like legion because it's available more often than not.

  • With all that is screwed up in this game, long wait times for red rank survivors, impossible to find a game for yellow and brown rank killers, you're upset they didn't do the bloodhunt when it best suited you?

  • I disagree with that completely but respect your opinion.

  • I did but will not do it again. Not buying anything else they sell until lobby times are fixed

  • There really isn't an argument for Oni being good. Take any other killer and make them only have there power at certain times, make sure the survivors know when they have their power and know it's only for a short time....that equates to a not so great killer.

  • Meh, the lobby wait times it doesn't matter what else they do. Just fix it so we can play the God damn game.

I play on Xbox really no excuse to say he's hard.

He isn't hard to play at all. Just not that strong of a killer. There is no reason at all for me to choose him over most other killers that I can use their power whenever I want.

  • Not quite sure what you mean. Like you are baiting a swing and using SB to run at the last minute and it isn't working?

  • I feel like noed is just reverse ruin. Use ruin to slow the game down in the beginning so they don't finish gens quickly. Don't use ruin so use noed because you know damn well the gens will be done in 4 minutes so you need a way to get them quickly once that happens.

Damn from the way people are saying this game seems unplayable for new players feel bad):

New players playing survivor isn't horrible. But new players who want to level up in killer? Honestly they should go play as Jason on f13 because you can at least get games on that piece of crap.

I did not have problems with queue times when I was new, but that's honestly beside the point.

The game has decent new player tips, has a softer difficulty curve than a lot of multiplayer games and you can always play with more experienced people to teach you. Literally any MOBA is far worse to get into because of the massive amount of knowledge you need. Any MMO is worse to get into because you need lots of grind to start doing cool stuff. The only popular genre that's easier to get into is probably FPS games. Not to mention the toxicity which is bad on DBD but far worse on other team games when it comes to new players (see older folks trying to get into League of Legends and giving up because they can't understand why their teammates want their family to die). Other than that I'd rather be a new player on DBD any day of the week.

It's not besides the point. The new match making and the game basically funneling all survivors to red ranks means new killers can't get games. My son got a PC for Christmas and was excited to start playing. He literally can't get killer matches in under 20 minutes and has already moved on. Can't get games as a new player definitely outweighs the cool beginner tips they give.

I agree in general it isn't a bad game for new people and 2 years ago when I started it wasn't bad at all. But the devs have had a lot of time to muck it up since then and they have done an awesome job at it. Honestly just make a new acct and try to play a game as a rank 20 killer. Then ask yourself who in the hell just getting this game would stick around for this?

  • Because for whatever reason she is picked by a lot of idiots as a main.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

Because it escalates pretty quickly. 6 dc's for example were shown to have a 6h timer and the penalty timer gets lowered by actually playing matches from what we know.

Even a 6 hour penalty....you'll miss out on what, 10 games in that time if you're a survivor? Who cares?

  • @gantes said:

Far, far FAR from the worst game to get into.

Name one other game that a new player has to wait 20 to 40 minutes in between every 15 minutes of playing. Hint, there isn't any. Dbd is definitely the worst.

  • This game forces survivor into red rank. Literally all you have to do is play. So those red rank survivor you're going against are mostly potatoes. You honestly just need to improve.

  • @Destructa said:

no, they didn't and they won't. the game is getting worse, and they don't care, after a few months they will release new content, new bugs, you better look for other game

While it definitely seems this is correct, I'm still not ready to believe the devs are actively trying to kill the game. They have to know something we don't right? Or are they legitimately stupid? Will they get some tax write off if they drive the game into the ground? I don't understand.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

They are trying to please killers by giving them evidence nobody plays killer. Spoiler Alert: people play killer.

I don't understand that. As a rank 1 killer and survivor the only thing I can play right now is killer unless I feel like waiting 10 minutes in between matches.

  • And it's only going to get worse. As they keep making changes to force all survivors into red ranks, new players will never get matches. I don't understand their plan.

  • Either I'm just an idiot or they are actively trying to ruin the game. Shoving everyone into red ranks is making this horrible for red rank survivor and any other rank killer. It makes no sense. But hey, who all bought that cool dwelf skin?

Someone watch this video and tell me how I was hit. I never, ever dc bit I'm not playing this garbage.

She's one of my least favourite to go against for this reason. The amount of times I've had a hatchet smack the literal air beside me, only to have it count as a hit on me. Those hitboxes are worse than the regular ones!

It's crazy. I have a video clip where I'm on the other side of a jungle gym. No windows and the hatchet hits me.

But will it be 60FPS? That's the question. If not then why would next-gen console players stick around?

While they're at it, they should change the wiggling and struggling mechanic so it doesn't physically destroy a game controller every couple hundred hours of gameplay. The X button on my PS4 controller is already broken due to smashing it over and over. and the left thumbstick is having a hard time.

A slow rotation of the left analog stick and a slow steady press of x while in struggle is all that is needed. If you are destroying controllers then perhaps lay off caffeine a little?

  • That is certainly a very nice opinion. If you were looking to ignore time of certain actions etc. then this can definitely be solid advice. But it doesn't change the fact that self care is not an efficient use of a perk slot.

  • I usually don't say anything. Only time survivors think it was a gg is if they all survived. Otherwise there is most certainly a rule you did not follow that they are going to complain about. So post game chat isn't really my scene.

  • @Blueberry said:

Pipping is too easy for survivors so it artificially ranks them up to where they shouldn't be.

But yeah, a lot of survivors are just really bad which artificially makes killers look stronger than they are. Then they balance for these bad survivors as you mentioned, which leads to a very unbalanced game at higher ranks when you get survivors that are actually good.

Yep, it just sucks that basically every match is dictated by the survivors you get. Regular run of the mill survivors and you can have a good game with just about any killer. Actual good survivors in your lobby and you better be skilled at nurse or be prepared to be pooped on lol.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/116126/why-so-many-bad-players

This game attracts stupid people, so the game is balanced around people who are stupid.

It does seem like this is a popular game for people who don't really game lol.

  • @Groxiverde said:

Just report the killer and they will get banned.

Some time ago a Dev said here in the forums that 3-gen strat with doctor is bannable.

This is only true if the killer is doing it to hold the game hostage. As in, they do the 3 gen strat and continue to just guard those gens at end game. Not allowing you to do them, not chasing you to kill you. Basically stuck there not able to do anything.

If they 3 gen you and then kill you all because of it, that is not bannable.

  • Unless 3 gens are stacked on top of each other I can't figure out how you can have a killer you know is trying to 3 gen from the start...is not chasing...and you still allow it to happen.

I used to main clown until low purple and red ranks. Man, oh man, does it get hard.

I still play him in my rotation at rank 1. It's just hit or miss. If I get a survivor group that sucks then I do well with clown. If i get a group of skilled survivors I stand no chance. I'm honestly amazed at the skill difference among players at the same rank.

  • Legion is pretty bad but in no way the worst killer. Have you played as clown? You honestly need to rely on getting a team of potatoes in order to have a good game as clown.

  • I do enjoy playing killer still but as always the result of the game comes down to the survivors you get. Good survivors means a ######### experience for the killer. Bad survivors means good experience as killer. The fact that there are so many bad survivors at rank 1 is sort of mind blowing. It's also the reason this game will never be balanced. If they made killers that could take out the best survivors then everyone else in the game would have a miserable time.

  • @24Life said:

You played a great game so far. You helped multiple people off of hooks and even healed a few. You completed a generator by yourself and co-oped a few others. You even opened an exit gate. Then BAM! killer catches you. NOED is active, of course. Next thing you know, you're on a hook. But wait, this is your first time being on the hook all game, the gate is open, you have Deliverance! Redemption is one button away....

Nope, sorry, straight to "struggle" and you don't even get points for that, straight to the entity you go.. Because no one else is alive.

Does this make sense? End game collapse already shortened the heck out of the games, so it can't be for time savings. Why not give the last survivor a full chance like everyone else got?

What would be the point? Why allow someone to kobe just to be downed immediately, then lay there on the ground until DS runs out so you can be hooked again and struggle for another minute. Doesn't seem fun.

  • Keys and ebony mori both need removed/changed. I agree with your point on the moris but to say keys aren't an issue is pretty silly.

  • The Oni has the same problem as every other killer in this game now that they butchered the nurse. He can be effective against the majority of players in this game. Even against a lot of rank 1s. But the truly good survivors....the ones that use to only worry about nurse, ######### all over oni like they do every killer now.

  • Yes, the killer isn't applying enough pressure. There was one killer that was able to apply enough pressure and everyone bitched until she got nerfed.

  • Killers are not overpowered. They just have not found a way to properly separate skill level. There are survivors and you get groups of them that are almost impossible to catch. Then there are survivors at the same exact rank that you can catch blindfolded and these are the majority.

  • Hasn't this been patched? If so, who decided this "needed" to be said?

  • I don't hate the new content. I just hate that with every single release of new content the game gets broken for several weeks. The new map is poopy IMO though.

  • Gotta say it should not be left up to BHVR to make sure nobody hurts your feels. If the words of complete strangers on the internet bother you to the point you don't enjoy the game you should look into getting to the root cause of that rather than relying on someone else to make sure everyone is nice to you.

Everyone saying that spirit is the most fun to play as, that's bs unless you're sadistic and just love ez mode

Or...and just hear me out on this crazy idea....Everyone has their own way of having fun and that isn't decided by someone else?

  • @WhoDatNinja said:

It seems like baby killers are complaining when its not their way. DS is fine the way it is. Leave it alone. Do like what baby killers do and slug. I hate when killers do that cause its a big disadvantage against survivors cause then killers are like taking the game hostage but what can we do its not gonna change. Id say leave DS and work on something more important.

"what can we do" Against slugging? Many things.

  • Why would you want to? That does not follow the DBD strategy. When something "needs" fixed that is what you're supposed to do, just make it useless. Look at legion and nurse for examples.

  • @Littlecoward said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/897431#Comment_897431

Lol, how would you know? It's not like there's a leaderboard saying if they camp or not.

Let me paint you a scenario. There's 2-3 survivors left and 4 generators left. The killer manages to hook someone meaning there's only 1-2 survivors left. I'm not sure how long it take for a solo survivor to fully upgrade a generator. By the time that hooked member is dead you might've gotten 1 gen, that leaves 3 left and only 2 survivors.

Idk, you seem to be defending the game very hard in the comment, you're entitled to your opinion, but camping is -clearly- a problem, otherwise it wouldn't have been such a common complaint with the game.

Probably knows from playing the game? My experience is in line with theirs. As you rank up as a survivor you see less campers. It is more prevalent in say ranks 15-20 than it is 1-5 as like stated killers that do that game in and game out will not rank up unless they get stupid survivors every single match.

Camping sucks but I have never heard a single good suggestion for stopping it nor can I think of any.

  • I hate all you PC people lol. I can answer for all of console players with Spriit as nurse is a giant dog turd on console and Oni is much more limited on console as well.

  • meh, I agree with you about this but after what they did to legion and nurse...I will just be happy if this is all that happens to spirit. She is still fun to play as of now. Legion...I really want my money back for that DLC.

  • @Kagrenac said:

She had it coming for years. She broke the game and was left a monstrosity for that entire time. There was NOTHING you could do to counter a Nurse player that knew what they were doing before the nerf.

Looping? Ineffective against a Nurse that knows how to counter jukes.

Stealth? Good luck with that considering every new release adds more and more perks to make it harder for survivors to hide.

Gen Rushing? Didn't work against a character that can zoom across the map at mach 5 every few seconds.

Even if you managed to juke her it didn't matter. Her blink would recharge and she would close that distance again. There has never been a killer as powerful as her and I'm glad she's been changed.

She broke the game? Nurse has been nurse forever and the game grew quite a bit over that time. Maybe she needed some adjustments (I don't think so but maybe) But to just go from OP to worthless? Seems a bit excessive to me.

  • I honestly don't see how the Devs are going to be able to implement anything that forces people to play the way that you want them to play. If you're being camped...hang in there until your team finishes gens....or, just eat it.

If you're being tunneled, run the killer enough so your team can do gens...or, just eat it. I don't understand why throwing a tantrum and losing 2 pips is always someones answer rather than just eating the hook, losing a pip and moving on.

  • Is it important to the DBD team that all killers are viable and fun to play as and against? If so, any plans to make legion the least bit viable or if not just remove him and offer refunds?

Is it important to the DBD team that all killers are playable on all platforms? You fixed this problem with the nurse by making her useless on all platforms but Oni for example is much less affective on console than it is PC.

  • Honestly...legion. Killer may as well ask to farm before the match because playing against legion is equally as boring anymore.
