This nerf just makes the Twins feel awful to play without actually solving their problems.
Where is the anti-camping failsafe that people like Otz and myself have been vouching for? Victor can be put under a hook and someone hooked on top of him, but apparently not getting DS'd for downing someone is too much to ask.
Meanwhlie you're given a swirlie by the BHVR development team for daring to down an injured person with a power that can only track blood not scratchmarks and disables for 30 seconds if you hit someone healthy with it. For God's sakes BHVR, it's like you WANT Twins players to camp at that point, since you're nerfing the interactive part of the Twins (chasing with Victor) and keeping the unfair part.
I made a video about this as soon as it went on PTB and basically nothing was done. It's disappointing, and I wish Twins had a bigger playerbase who could kick up enough of a fuss about it for it to matter.
Dowsey put it best himself, the best way to nerf the Twins would be a longer Victor cooldown. Not punishing the killer for landing hits.
I hate this killer and think their entire design is flawed but it's obvious we're not getting a rework, just nerfing numbers will ruin the killer for the 3 people out there that actually like them.

No. What I'm saying is I 4kd red ranks with him from match 1. And never had issues landing his rush hits. He's nowhere near the skill level needed as nurse.
Oh, my bad, shows my level of reading comprehension. Yeah thats why I stopped playing him. It didn't feel like it was a challenge against even good teams. A team that could potentially beat a decent Freddy would still fall victim to his insane slowdown perk synergy.
You could throw on Pop/Corrupt with Enduring/Spirit Fury and half the pallets on the map would be gone by the second gen, if that. Mainly because even a good looper can't really play around snares.

If you say so lol. I 4kd with him my first time ever using him and never looked back. He's not that difficult.
Thats like saying you can wipe a rank 20 squad with Clown so he's top tier.

Sloppy if you want one. Thanas values are too low and Wraith doesn't have good multi target damage.

45s makes it literally garbage. I can't believe people are upset about 45 seconds when goes by so fast. Unbelievable.
I've seen it twice and so far it hasn't stopped a chase for more than 5 seconds.

I'd like him back simply because I'd like to play Freddy without feeling like I'm boosted again. New Freddy has so much utility that he doesn't feel challenging to play even against decent players.

I'll post video of what competent survivors do to trickster. Otzdarva gets 0k. Could have gotten 1k, but still a loss. Match starts at 7:34 (7 hours 34 minutes) The point is: no map pressure. Winning individual chases against survs on comms will not win you a game.
In all fairness, as good as Otz is, using him for as an example for a killer like Trickster is a bad idea. He tends to play the less gimmicky M1 115% killers and thats where he is best.
Dowsey has been doing phenomenaly well with Trickster for the most part.

Maybe in low ranks. But in high ranks that build is garbage. Without Undying or POP as a backup, your ruin will be gone very quickly. Smart survivors will search for it while your Corrupt is active, unless you get lucky and totem spawns in area not affected by Corrupt.
Ruin on any 110% killer is a bad idea. If you want slowdown on a slower killer with no mobility your choices are pop/corrupt or nothing.
Having Ruin on Trickster is akin to having zero slowdown at all.

I remember when the Freddy rework was announced, and I was kinda shocked that they were changing his entire ability. To me, his power now makes no sense even after or before the patch 4.7.0 nerf. Freddy is supposed to be a dream demon, to hunt people in there dreams. I think Old Freddy needs to come back to Dbd but not useless like he was before the rework.
POWER REWORK:
Freddy should be how he used to be, not able to hit survivors when awake unless there sleeping, and he should keep the snares, dream pallets, and the gen teleport. Survivors can’t wake up from skill checks or other survivors, only when they get hooked. When he is putting survivors to sleep, he is invisible and will not shown for a bit during the dream transition. Also, buff some of his add ons would you BHVR?
This change will not make him incredibly powerful, nor making him too weak. The change will make him a decent killer in my opinion.
You think you want it but you don't. Trust me I put so many hours into that killer.
The aura reading alone will make people hate him more than new freddy.

"but you have to be good at listening out for footsteps, and knowing when to stop the phase early to catch a double back."
Good survivors will not be giving you footsteps and early double back is not reliable, it's still guessing. Those ending scratch marks could have got in multiple directions.
Like I said, good Spirits. Knowing when and when not to phase is part of being good at her.

There were times he could be tough but I hesitate to want to nerf him when other killers are clearly stronger like spirit but aren't addressed at all.
Right now everything he does someone else does just as well or better.
Teleport to gens is his best thing but lots of other killers have the same or similar ability.
His entire kit (other than teleport) requires survivors to be asleep do be used while other trap killers have no prerequisite with a similar amount of time for set up (and the other traps are actually lethal). He now has additional barriers to use his abilities that already had prerequisites to be used.
I honestly kind of liked freddy having some slowdown, even against him, because it made his addons unique while now they are worthless.
Spirit's a special case, honestly. I think most people who are objective or try to be with balance can see she's a problem. But it's an issue with the very design of her power.
Freddy is STILL a better clown than clown which is kinda sad, even with the snare nerfs and the clown "buff". Also the sleeping part, remember that current Freddy gets that for free. Survivors fall asleep passively.
I agree that the new add ons are pretty pathetic, but I have no idea what they could have done to make them useful. They clearly are aware snares were a problem and didn't want to make you able to just have the last version of freddy with add ons.
Freddy's a hybrid killer, he has elements of several different killers, by design conventions he -should- be weaker then them individually. Jack of all trades, master of none.

Same, mained that boy for near on two years. It's cool that Freddy is more of a threat now but I find him very unenjoyable and easy to play, he has the depth of a puddle compared to, say, Blight or Oni.
I think he also gets a bad rap as 90% of Freddies stack as much slowdown as possible on a killer that already has decent mobility and pretty strong chase potential. They're also incredibly salty post game when you do escape.

If the survivors are actually using Iron Will and you're not using Stridor she's barely even B tier. People like to mock and call Stridor a crutch and it just shows how little they actually play it from both sides. If the survivors are actually silent because you're not running Stridor it is literally you just guessing every time.
As long as Iron Will exists in the meta, you need Stridor, just equip it. You can win games against complete potatoes even at rank 1 without it, but if the survivors are even the slightest bit competent you're gonna get dunked.
I think that's peoples main gripe with her design. She lives or dies based on what perks are in play. At least for average players. A decent spirit can still win against IW users without Stridor but you have to be good at listening out for footsteps, and knowing when to stop the phase early to catch a double back.

Freddy was good before but not broken. Right now I don't see any reason to play him with the updates.
I would argue base freddy was fine. But when add ons and perks came into the equation it went from challenging to boring/unfair really fast.
The amount of times I've faced a freddy that's made the game last 20+ minutes, they aren't even good at chases they get destroyed but their slowdowns just slow the game down so much, is unbearable.
He's still a strong killer, played him last night. Still as brain dead as ever, place snare on other end of pallet loop, if they run free hit, if they hit the snare free hit, rinse repeat. No amount of numbers changes will make people like playing against this killer.

I can't imagine how bad Trickster controls on a joystick.
It's really bad.
Like,it's still really hard to deal with the recoil because response curve and deadzone for controller in the game are pretty bad.
I can't play more than a few games as Trickster because trying to aim with that recoil on his blades really starts to hurt my thumbs.
Never had this problem with Deathslinger,Huntress or other games that required you to aim.
I think its the recoil combined with the fact that L/R arm throws aren't perfectly centered. It's silly that they say they want "parity" between platforms for cross play then let a 8000 hour pc huntress play against 20fps PS4 players.

Just had this game as trapper, I had a meg on hook and the other three survivors chose to do gens over getting Meg (was not camping at all btw). She then went onto second state on hook and they saved her last second. They had no toolboxes or perks to speed up generators and the gens were done in less than 4 minutes. In my opinion that is what gen rush is.
Does this seem fair to you? What do you believe gen rush means?
Survivors being smart isn't gen rushing.
Leaving teammates to die on hook over gens, using multiple Prove Thyself and Engineer toolboxes, foregoing healing against a good killer to prioritize gens is genrushing.
Survivors completing gens fast because you're playing badly and not giving them anything else to do is not genrushing.
Crazy that people still complain about it when old BNPs could complete 3/4 gens in under 20 seconds at match start. Or commodius toolboxes (rip). An organised swf on a map like Ormond can still destroy gen speeds but thats an outlier, really. On most of the map reworks the devs have shrunk the maps so it shouldn't be bad in the future.

Lucky break won’t become meta precisely because the timer is 45 seconds. Almost a third of that timer is eaten up by healing which makes it just garbage. Gonna enjoy reading the posts complaining about survivors always running the same 4 perks a lot more from now on since most of them complain whenever a perk change has the potential to shake up the load out for survivors.
The same people that get really upset when you say you think MoM or DS were overnerfed will complain about BT/DH/Adrenaline and IW, then they go back to Ruin/Pop/Tinkerer/BBQ killer.
-
Power Struggle 2.0. A not very good perk that is extremely strong in specific situations. In this case 1 chase if that.
I actually think its just a bad perk concept. Timer too long and it becomes OP (we saw how ridicolous it was in the PTB especially in conjunction with Iron Will) too short and its not worth justifying a perk slot over.

Coldwind used to be one of my favorite maps. The new lighting in this update is absurd. This game should NOT feel like you're playing in the middle of the god damn day. Lower the ######### brightness, BHVR. You're a "horror" game, remember? Stop trying to make things look absolutely gorgeous; i want the map to be dark. Not for the sake of hiding as a survivor. But for the sake of feeling like im playing a horror game. Jesus christ.
What are you talking about its great. It's not "Mcmillan but a little more orange" anymore.

There's a friend tab on the survivor/killer menu and you should have a code by your name, I think you send that to your friend and they enter it, then they should appear and be able to invite you.

No bloody way...
Snares are definitely stronger, all you have to do is mindlessly place one on one end the of the loop and chase back towards it for a free hit, but I think I understand where they're coming from.
Fake pallets are incredibly weak but kind of unfair, there's absolutely no tell if its real or fake and if it's fake you're instantly screwed. Maybe they realised how unfair they feel from the survivors side. Should have reworked them but they butchered Iri head in the same way instead of actually fixing it.
-
I highly doubt it'll be X/Nemesis. I think more likely is a monster/character from RE8 or maybe the OG Tyrant from RE1/0. If it is X/Nemesis I'll be surprised as I don't think they would fit very well.
-
It's absurd that they've enabled cross-play but outright refuse to allow K+M on console. I left Xbox for PC when BLight came out so I never got to try him out on controller and I don't ever want to.
I can't imagine how bad Trickster controls on a joystick.

Sorry but if that 5% action debuff was op you're bad. No other reason behind it. When you keep nerfing killers to have pointless addons or powers you will see less and less of them meaning just the same few meta killers over and over. Stop asking for nerfs and learn how to play, learn what a tile is and learn how to use it before you even voice your opinion.
The problem wasn't the add ons, it was the combination with slowdown perks aswell as Freddies short chase times and across the map teleport/free pressure.
If Pop/Ruin/Undying didn't exist and weren't used in 95% of matches no one would even think of complaining about it.
In fact, Freddy used to have a permanent 50% slowdown while in the dream world and very few people complained, Why? Because Old Freddy wasn't the best chaser and killers had way less ways to regress/slowdown gens back then. It was balanced by him not being a very good chaser and having lacking mobility.
Also, Freddy players calling others bad OMEGALUL. He's by far the easiest and most brainless killer in this game. Pick him if you want a free pip, that's all.
-
Rest in Piss Slowdown add ons. Ye shall carry regression stacking baby freddies no more.

Correct me if I'm wrong but trickster received some well-needed adjustments in the PTB, and they've just decided not to add them?
Or is my memory terrible and we weren't meant to get any buffs to him at all?
I hope they do something with him soon. All eyes are soon going to be on the Resident Evil chapter and i feel like he will soon be forgotten about already.
They already came in the hotfix, a few weeks back.
I've been putting a lot of time into him, he's OK now. Fun to play but EXTREMELY map dependant.
If you get a map with tons of low wall loops you're an unstoppable god, but if its all/mostly high walls you WILL be powerless. A shame, I still think making him 115% would help him slightly more at high wall loops.

In terms of gameplay being stale, I agree they need to do more than just new killers and perks - I really think they could do with adding a few new game modes to spice things up. Even things like a 2 v 8 mode, while not ground-breaking would help to maintain interest. I've only been playing a few months and I noticed that even though I still play most days, once I'd completed a tome challenges things started to get stale and I'm glad there's a new tome starting tomorrow.
Revised character models and updated maps are great, don't get me wrong - but they don't impact the core gameplay at all so are not a substitute for innovation.
I think the reason Home Sweet Home felt so fresh to me (although that game also has a whole LOAD of issues when you look at it) is because of the new ways of playing the game.
Having to scavenge for parts before doing "gens" multiple chase obstacles that aren't just pallets and vaults, the ability to trick and trap/fight the killer. Not saying I want that specifically in dbd but I would like new mechanics that aren't killer exclusive.
Breakable walls are the only new non-killer specific mechanic they've added in the last few years bar EGC (which was a bandaid fix) and all they are is pre dropped pallets.

Stealth is good. Why do so many killer mains and devs want it gone??
They've been saying for years that they want to nerf it and buff "meaningful interaction" i.e chases between survivors and killers. But then they go and make a killer like Spirit, for example, where stealth is your only chance of escape.

The devs should realize that the new Crypt TV legendary skins, that being the Mordeo and Look-See, shouldn't actually be legendary due to one thing. The skins aren't as unique as the Krampus or the Minotaur skins, because the skins in question could genuinely be mixed with other skins and still work.
However what I believe they should do to make the Mordeo and Look-See skins worthy of being Legendary Skins is change the Audio for them. Change the Doctor's laughs to the Look-See's low clicking sounds, and change the Huntress song into the Mordeos ghastly howls. It might be hard, depending on the coding and their skill, but it would make it so that those particular skins can actually work as Legendary skins.
If they don't change it, well then make the Birch Lady a Legendary skin, she has a full series going for her and they make her just a regular "Very Rare" skin as if she isn't special. In my eyes it just doesn't make enough sense for the Look-See and Mordeo Skins to be legendary if they don't offer anything new/different to earn the rarity of Legendary.
I'd like different sound effects for Look See's weapon. It should make a loud -CLANG- when you hit someone.

Was never a huge fan of the character in the comics, however there was a run by christopher priest that was absolutely amazing.

Why not both?
Black Box gets you the down and hook against that injured and asleep Survivor who otherwise would have barely gotten out the 99'd gate.
Then you can use that Survivor to activate Blood Warden and get more people.
I can't see running it outside of a build with Blood Warden, but it can potentially counter the way too common way of defeating Blood Warden that is 99ing gates. It honestly seems reasonable to me.
Good thought, most people don't really bother waking up as the incentive isn't really there with how fast you fall asleep again. Now without the slowdown add ons its even less likely. So I can already see a survivor going for a panic escape at a 99, being blocked, hooked and Bw activating and a potential snowball from there.
-
Honestly, before Blight I was almost done with this game, then Twins and Trickster happened.
I still think Twins are the worst chapter ever released (I'm including Legion) but after the changes to Trickster I'm having great fun as him.
Outside of breakable walls continuing to make me wonder why they exist and some of the maps being too dark, the map reworks look fantastic.
Good balance changes and QoL changes like hooks, took a while but they're here.
I'm hopeful for the future of this game again but I'm not getting too hyped yet.

I see most people agree that dbd hit its peak quality and fun-wise in 2019, it's all been sorta downhill from there from a gameplay perspective. I.E. New killers just mostly being hybrids/New perks being mostly unoriginal, etc. I know a lot of players (3-4 year players) who have left after the Chains of Hate or Silent Hill chapter and aren't interested in returning.
The art and sound design is better than ever but the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired.

It was actually fun. So many times i effected by this add-on and i changed my gameplay. I adepted it. And it was supporting Freddy's lore. New Black Box is just useless. 15 seconds are nothing. Even Blood Warden is not effective so much (60 seconds) how they thought this ultra rare add-on will be okey with 15 seconds. This add-on would had different power.
In all fairness if they cared that much about lore they would have kept Freddy exclusively in the dream realm like in his old power.
In regards to the addon remember you have tools like No way out, Blood warden, remember me (though they gutted this perk unfortunately) and noed for endgame builds.
Old Freddy was all about preparing for the endgame so I imagine that's what they were going for.

Representation matters so some people and to others it doesn't and thats fine.
I can say as a white dude that I can probably count the games where I've played as a Black male/female or Asian dude in a main character role on one hand. And I've never really questioned it because it was normal for me.
But imagine being in the shoes of, say, a young african american or asian teenager and seeing every game having buff white dudes or oversexualised blonde white women in every game. Then one game comes along and has a character who looks and sounds like you.
It's going to be a big deal.
For example, as far as comic book movies go Black Panther was pretty average, but it was the first major PG13 tentpole comic book movie featuring all black leads. I think the box office returns speak for themselves.
Again, it doesn't matter if you don't care, that's perfectly fine. But don't rag on others for caring.
-
There's been some nice and not so nice changes in the recent patches. I'll admit that I'm enjoying the game slightly more right now than I have since Blight, and even before him I was losing passion for this game.
I hope they keep it up. It's a shame it takes them so long to respond to feedback in this way. People had been asking for that hook change for 3 or so years but I'm glad its here.

Because through no fault of their own the player must now have no way to avoid snares or fake pallets for an entire match. It's not enjoyable.
