I play Myers, one of the slowest Killers to get their first down (unless you get a yoink) the Survivors rarely get 2 gens done before I get my first hook and almost never 3 unless Im extremely unlucky and on Mother's Dwelling or Rotten Fields, if 3 gens pop before you get your first down in a per match basis you are doing something very wrong.
And most campers are people using the strong campers like Leatherface, Trickster, Huntress etc, even the normal Killers have an easy time facecamping if they slap SBFL, with 2 stacks you can almost guarantee a trade hook and even down the rescued.
You only have 80 seconds before 3 gens pops though?

Can't go that far. I like most of the upcoming changes and I'm really happy about the game health update as a whole, but some things got nerfed too hard, and I don't feel like they did very much to dissuade camping or tunneling.
Iron Will, Spine Chill, and Self-Care got nerfed straight into never-used territory when arguably only one of them even needed a nerf to begin with, Ruin's close behind, and DS got nerfed hard while they buffed another perk to do exactly what it used to do, which makes no sense to me.
First two changes are more or less healthy for the game as it did completely countered certain killer's power, which was obviously ridiculous.
Self-care nerf weren't necessary at all though.

Wasn't the issue Dead Harding for distance?? They literally got rid of that. What else do you want them to do?
They buffed that part by allowing survivors to move freely and giving them distance upon hit.
But then no way it can get to live servers anyway, we really don't need much concern.
-
Face camping will be addressed anyway, and since usual chases are buffed significantly, camping would be less feasible.
-
Just do gens, as usual.
-
100% NO, you've lost chase, you should be hooked, wiggling out should only happen with extreme coordination or many perks.
Hell survivors got wiggling buffs for absolutely no reason anyway, it's extremely unhealthy for the game as is.
-
Goodbye, I'll substitute your position when survivor que time stops being 10min.
-
at least tentacles could get 10% speed buff because... like why not.
-
I don't think you need to concern that much about camping, they made clear intention to nerf camping, it's just not in the next patch.
-
Normalize all voices and give colorful outline to every survivors, that's the way.

Shouldn't have to play in an SWF group to have a fair game. It needs to be better balanced. This update will seriously hurt the game (imo) if it goes live.
You SHOULD have to play in an SWF group to have truly fair game, there is literally no way to make it work for both soloq and SWF, and no asymmetry PvP games with party feature should be balanced around soloq because that just kills game due to extreme imbalance between two side (which this game was, now it's actually fairer when you look at ACTUAL things both side can do).
Or alternatively this game could entirely opt out SWF and balance around that, but seems like that's not the way they gonna do.

I play both sides. This update will make solo survivor even more miserable to play. We need a game that is fair and balanced for both sides... this isn't it. Yeah, I'm absolutely done if this update hits live and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
game IS certainly fair and balanced if survivors are skilled enough, it's just that majority of solo que players aren't.
discord server and SWF is right there for you.

It's easy IF they're not all the same X with the same skin on LOL Otherwise, I try to watch the UI to see which one is injured and go after the other, but my milage varies on that LOL
those who tries to use exact same skins are certainly not the one who complains about tunneling anyway tbh.

Dead hard doesn't matter, trashtalk is made by just eh people as is.

How are you coming up with 12 meters of distance when it's 1 second of activation with no speed boost. That's 4 meters at normal survivor movement speed...
4 meters + lot of meters when you managed to get hit, I guess.
-
Well, at least they didn't managed to "fix" this thing, it had to have some kind of immobilization to actually make "skillful" perk, it can still be used to make distance otherwise impossible to make.
@Araphex said:
Dead Hard is supposed to be a dodge ability. To make you dodge the killer's attack. Not super rush 2-4 meters whenever you want. I like the change. It might make it easier for me to use anyways.
It's actually "be invincible for 4 meters whenever you want" instead of "super rush few meters whenever you want", which, could be WORSE than old one.
-
Really remembering who you've hooked is like easiest part of the game, removing it will definitely not make anything worse.
-
Cutting grind by 75%, tripling baseline grind, and also increasing grind by 100% due to BP perk nerfs.
wow it's 1.5x lmao
-
This might be a day for TRUE genrush mete where everyone just takes fastest possible generating build.
-
When he drop shadow, just run away.
try not to get close to lockers, or lock lockers.

Solo Que is not the problem, majority of players are.

You'll enjoy 15 minute killer queues when all the survivors leave. This game is old and players are leaving just because the game is old. Killer-players tend to be more tenacious about staying, so changes to them isn't going to affect much.
However, you make the game unfair for survivors, then you will see a mass exodus. Survivor-players are not so tied to this game as killer-players. Massive nerfs to survivors-players, like you see on this patch, is going to cause large numbers of survivor-players to move to other games.
This is just flat out bad for both sides. Sure, after this patch, you'll be 4king all the time but when killer-queue times start edging to 15 minutes, because survivor-players are going to games that are actually fair, then you'll be singing a different toon.
uh, I can just enjoy playing survivors without waiting for 20 minutes at that point, I don't see any problem there.
Hell, that's actually what I was waiting for.
-
vaulting and palleting, both.
although killers can still grab over an endurance effect, but at that point they can just tap M1 and hit survivor anyway so...

Making the game less frustrating for one player, but more frustrating for the other 4 is not going to improve it for everyone. It’s actually making it more frustrating for 4 other players, because killers won’t change their play style just because the game is easier for them, and on t op of that survivor perks just got worse.
Considering how this game was notorious for how frustrating playing the killer is, it will surely be balanced out.
-
I want to but p3ing 30+ characters are nigh impossible.

To make off the record better version of DS.

I think they mean their physical size (how many pixels they take in the screen) and not the hitbox.. pretty sure all survivor hitboxes are the same size, same as how every killer's attack/lunge has the same range despite some weapons being clearly shorter than others.
I thought that's not a problem, but yeah it might be problem for hiding although hiding itself is pretty eh.

Yeah, but they won't. So there are survivors who just need Iron Will, which is really bad with those changes.
We can also talk about sizes of survivors, why that is different I have no idea.
They have different hitbox? seriously?

Someone mentioned that BHVR confirmed in a tweet that it will have a visual, so you'll be able to know when the survivor activates it and act accordingly.
That's great.
@jesterkind said:
How could it be used for distance if it no longer lunges? I'm not sure I follow.
If the survivor is close enough to run to a pallet, they wouldn't be using DH for distance anyway, they'd be running to the pallet normally and then presumably greeding it for a bit.
Since they got invincibility from the perk, can move freely, and can drop pallet, in a situation where killers can almost get a hit but survivors are close enough to drop a pallet within 1 seconds, they can ALWAYS avoid a hit.
And if killer lunge earlier they can just see it and activate the perk.
Yeah they can't get MORE distance within same timeframe, but it CAN be used to gain distance without any repercussions, which is same as old dead hard.

People have been saying SB is better forever, it's not new.
However, honestly with this change, I don't see people stopping using DH. In fact, I this entire patch isn't going to affect the survivor meta at all. It just makes survivors weaker. If I play survivor, I'll still have to use the weakened Decisive Strike, I'll still have to play the weaken BT. If I ever ran DH, which I don't, I wouldn't stop using DH.
The developers nerfed a bunch of perks that survivors basically have to use. Then buffed a bunch of useless perks. "Buffing" a useless perk like Dark Sense, or Pharmacy, or Calm Spirit where you add another useless ability isn't going to make me use them. My god what a stupid patch.
It's really new since that perk changes shown up tbh.
-
Since technically survivors were power role, it's expected that killers gets more buff than survivors.
You can't really balance for soloq because they can still perform really good if they match with good players, not very good players mostly losing is really normal and shouldn't be changed for PvP games, esp in asymmetry one.
-
100% sound reduction is crazy, normalizing survivor volume is what really should be done.

Old Dead Hard: 0.5 second window
New Dead Hard: 1 second window
Old Dead Hard: 6m travel distance
New Dead Hard: 12m travel distance
Old Dead Hard: Straight-line movement that could run into walls or corners if not aimed correctly
New Dead Hard: Full control over your character's movements
Old Dead Hard: Able to make it to pallets but prevented you from vaulting
New Dead Hard: Able to make it to pallets AND vaults
Old Dead Hard: Movement only
New Dead Hard: Free range of motion under the invulnerable status, including uninterruptable unhooking
What part of "They made Dead Hard BETTER" do people not get? The perk that 75% of survivors used will go up to 100% if this rework goes live.
Well technically they can't get FARTHER than they meant to, unlike old dead hard.
With the way it works it doesn't really matter though...
-
It's really weird how they removed EGC from DS yet somehow add much worse variant into the game.
-
@Marcavecunc said:
And if they get hit during the Endurance window, they get a speed boost for a few seconds, and gain way more distance than they would have with the current DS
with immobility, it'd be high-risk high-reward style perk, but if there is no kind of such and no way to tell whether it activated or not, it would be really stupid perk to go against... although not that strong.
-
doesn't really matter, for most of good killers 5 seconds stuns did nothing anyway, even for 3 seconds it's functionally same.
-
It's already unfeasible perk as is due to being a hex, nerf weren't even necessary tbh.
-
It's a little funny how suddenly people starts saying SB is better.
-
I wish tl;dr did exists.
-
tbh even the dead hard stops being problematic once they managed to make properly balanced maps.
-
Tbh it doesn't even looks like an intended feature, like there is no logic behind this...
-
I member someone did 500 win streak or whatsoever with demo...
-
So no more grind for prestige I suppose?

small(?) tweaks like "shrunk down a bit" never happened in this game afaik.

I've had my internet shut down for hours after I didn't play correctly according to a player in DBD.
if that isn't a celestial sized ego then idk what is
Huh? people can do that nowadays?

suffice to say but PvP games are already inherently toxic, and on top of that dbd is made to be full of frustration.
